ICloud outgoing mail works on my Mac but not on my iPhone

After adding my iCloud (.me and .icloud) mail accounts to OSX Mail I was then not able to send mail from the .me account. This was solved by manually adding the SMTP details.
But the problem is persisting on my iPhone with the same account. I have of course checked that the 'Sync Mail Accounts' button in iTunes is ticked, but this still has not fixed the issue.
Any ideas?

The real "me.com" account does not exist since me servers were retired in summer of 2012. Your actual server is icloud.com. So check if you can send emails from icloud.com email. If you can, you can always make sure that your recipient sees me.com email from you by changing "From" box in new mail. When you tap on that from email, you will see all the options, including me and icloud. If you do not see icloud, the way to add it to the phone is to go to settings on the phone, click icloud and turn on mail switch. I do not think you would be able to sync that mail account over itunes.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

Incoming iCloud mail appearing on my Mac but not on my iPhone

I am able to send and receive email from/to my @icloud.com/@me.com accounts from within Mac OS Mail (Mountain Lion) but nothing is coming through to my iCloud Inbox in Mail on my iPhone. I have tried deleting iCloud from the iPhone and reinstating it already, but that has not worked.
On the iPhone, I have gone in to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (Accounts) iCloud > Account (my Apple ID) iCloud Account Information > Advanced - Under 'Allow Sending From' my two iCloud mail accounts (@icloud.com and @me.com) are displayed, but the @me.com account is dimmed, but the on/off switch is On and not selectable, with the @icloud.com account selectable.

That's normal. The @me.com is dimmed because you have selected this account as your default address to send from (so you can't disallow sending from it). If you tap Email just above this setting, you wil notice that your @me.com address is checked as your default account to send from.

Are you saying that you are trying to sync your contacts to iCloud? Are the two accounts you mention ".mac" and ".me" actually different in that they are [email protected] vs. [email protected]? If so, your device can only use one account at once - and you should stick to only one account.

You would have to change it back to your old email address in order to turn off "Find My iPhone" on your devices. After you changed it back to your old address and deactivated "Find My iPhone" (activation lock) you could change your Apple ID to your new address again. Now it should wok on all your devices.

I-pod touch works on a Mac but not a PC

Please help! My I-pod touch works on a Mac but not a PC. When hooked up to a PC, the device is not recognized in I-tunes message, says I-pod in recovery mode and to restore, after checking update and restore, receive unknown error message (9). Have tried unistaling and reinstalling I-tunes, using different USB ports, creating new user, restarting computer, using different PC, and trying to reset by holding sleep/wake and home buttons all to no avail, very, very frustrated, everything is fine on a Mac!!

I have CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2010, version 6.0.0.264.
I was wondering about that one in particular.

(Sometimes switching the security software off doesn't help, but doing the configuration does help. Not sure what's afoot with that, but it has happened with other security-package problems with iTunes in the past.)

Mail Works With Internal Modem But Not With Airport

The Mail app works great when I use a dial up connection but it won't work when I connect with Airport. It was something I could live with before because I could easily retrieve email through my ISP on the web, but now Mail won't work with my iPhone 3GS either after syncing it up with iTunes. Any suggestions?

Okay, I found the answer if anyone is having the same problem. The Mail POP settings on the Mac for the various Accounts I had were outdated. They were just for Dial-Up. Here is the link for the entire ATT page that deals with High Speed and iPhone connections, and the part in particular that helped me get it going.

I have my phone and mac synced on icloud. lately, my new emails are soing up on my 'mail' app on the mac but are not shoing up on my phone? this is very frusturating as i dont get to see any emails until i log onto my mac..

iCloud includes as part of its suite of services Apple's free email service - it has nothing at all to do with any other email services you subscribe to.
To get another account on your device, you need to set that account up, using that account providers settings.

Custom Dashcode widget works fine on mac, but not in iBooks

I wrote a dashcode widget that works fine on my mac but not in iBooks, what am I doing wrong?
I am trying to create a widget that performs a specific calculation when the user inputs the 2 variables. However when I go to preview it on my iPad, the button that performs the calculation disapears. It is visible in the thumbnail, but once you launch to full size... bye bye...
Help is appreciated. Are buttons not allowed?

That is not correct. What sets the size of the widget when it runs is the canvas size of the widget, not Default.png.
At the link below, you can find a widget with a Default.png of 140x200 pixels. When you run the widget, it displays at 900x607 pixels.

This demonstrates that Default.png has nothing to do with the size of the widget when it runs. Default.png need not even have the same aspect ratio as the widget canvas.

Icloud calender will sync to my iPad but not to my iPhone

hi all
my calendar entries made from either my mac or ipad will sync perfectly to icloud, and does show up on both my ipad 1 and my ipad 2 , and on my wifes iphone 4s, but NOT on my iphone 4S
if i turn off calendar on the iphone 4s, and turn it on again, it will sync and show all calendar entries from the icloud, but after that, nothing happens.
the strange thing is , if i edit or make a new calendar entry on my iphone, i will show up in all the other devices, but entry´s made from other devices will not show op on my iphone?
have tried to delete the icloud account on the iphone, and set it up again, and at first everything works, but newer calendar entries, doesnt come throught...
i have compared the settings on both my iphone 4 and my wife, and they are exactly the same,
can anyone give me a hint of what to do

ipads are are designed to sync with only one computer. You need to choose one of the two and maintain all your music,photos etc. on that one computer.

What I meant was is there an Apple ID (not yours) in there.
Did you try Settings > iCloud > scroll to the bottom and tap the red Sign Out?

I had a shared mobileme account for my work calendar- 4 people sharing call using one set of calendars. It is on my mac but not on my iphone anymore...just 3 of my calendars went to icloud. Any idea how to get the calendars from a "family" mobileme?

If your email account offers a webmail access, I suggest checking the webmail - log in to your account using the webmail access, and I predict you will see all those "unread" emails there and can dispose of them from there.
This happens because the iPhone that went bad, when reading those emails, did not remove them from your email provider's servier.

Forms work on my Mac but not on my PC? "Operation is not permitted"

I created a form but it tells the user "operation is not permitted" when the submit button is pressed and also doesn't allow the user to access the any of the field to type their information in.
It is very frustrating for me as I need the form to work so I can upload it to the clients website and get paid. It is particularly frustrating when it works on my Macbook Pro but wont work on my PC or the millions of PC out there.
This is how I made the PDF. And I also made using the same process a test, blank page PDF with 1 text field and 1 submit button and nothing else.
1. Mad the form in Illustrator
2. Exported it as PDF
3. Made the form fields
4. Made the Submit button
5. Enabled usage rights for Adobe Reader
6. Saved file
7. Uploaded the file
8. Works on Mac and not on PC
Can someone please help. I have spent numerous hours and searches on it, It's driving me crazy.

Looks like there is something wrong with my PC.
The PDF form worked fine on the clients computer. It seems like the only place it wouldn't work is on my PC. So I am assuming it's a problem with my computer.
Don't know what it could be though, I have the latest version of reader and it's a new computer.
From one problem to another...story of my life...:)
At least it's working at clients end.
