ICloud pages beta change bottom margin

How the heck do you change the bottom margin in icloud pages beta?

And in case anyone wants to know, this is not just because I was using a PC….
Anyone know how to fix this, if it can be fixed??

How to change indentation iCloud Pages Beta?

It is really annoying, I can move that grayed out indentation thing on my iPad in Pages, but when I'm on iCloud Pages Beta on the PC at my school (which updates to the most recent version of Chrome or Safari or Firefox whenever it is available), the button is not available.
Does anyone know if there is a workaround, or is this just Apple being Apple?

How can I get a word count in iCloud Pages Beta?

Apparently there is no way to get a document word count in iCloud Pages Beta. Has anyone figured out a work around for this?

View menu > Show Word Count.
A floating panel will appear at the bottom of your document. Pass your mouse over the right-side of this floating panel and you will see up/down arrows. Click. Choose Word count from the list of available counts. The floating panel now displays word count, until you change it again. You can also move this floating panel with a command+click+drag, in case you want it below your footer content.
You might want to download the free WordService service solution from the OS X App Store. I provides you with many additional features (e.g. Sort Ascending, Document Statistics, etc.) The act of downloading this application will install, but not activate several services. You activate what you want in:
System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services : WordService:servicename.
The WordService application will be in your LaunchPad (on your left Dock). Run it and choose Help. This will launch the Preview PDF viewer and a document showing all the Services available, and their description. Services in OS X act on selected document content. Iwork page beta changes format in pdf file

i am working in iCloud page beta, informal business card, after selecting print, I choose pdf format, the layout changes in the pdf file. how should i correct this

With the document open choose the spanner > Print.
With the document close, control click > Print Document.
Both ways should create a useable pdf to print directly from your browser.

I dragged some Word files to iClouds Pages beta hoping to edit them but they won't open.

Probably a simple answer but I am stumped.

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

ICloud Pages templates

How do I save stationary I created in iCloud Pages as templates? I also have many templates on my Mac I would like to save as templates in the cloud.

Getting your Pages templates from your Mac to your iPad via iCloud is not 100% straightforward, but it can be done - I succesfully did the following procedure using Mavericks & iOS7:
ON YOUR MAC
1) Create your template in Pages
2) Choose "File > Save As Template" and choose the "Save..." option (not "Add To Template Chooser")
3) Save the template to a memorable location (e.g. your desktop)
4) Open a new finder window, hold the alt/option key on your keyboard and choose "Go > Library"
5) Browse to ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Pages/Documents
6) Open a second finder window and locate the template you saved in step 3
7) Drag the template into ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Pages/Documents
ON YOUR IPAD
8) Open Pages
9) Tap Documents in the top left
10) Wait a few moments for the iCloud to sync
11) With any luck your template will appear (with a generic template icon)
12) Tap the template
13) A dialog will appear "Add to Template Chooser" - tap "Add"
14) Once this is done, you can remove the template from your iCloud documents to keep things tidy by tapping "Edit", then tapping on the template file, and finally tapping on the Bin / Trash icon.
Now when creating a new document on your iPad you will find your template at the bottom under "MY TEMPLATES"
If you were refering to iCloud pages beta in (at iCloud.com), unfortunately I am not aware of a way to save user templates to this platfom.

I've uploaded my Pages document in which I create new sections to modify the Header I use.
Can't see how to create a new section in iCloud Pages Beta.

It sounds as if what you are wanting to do in the Pages application is to insert a Page Break. Follow the steps in this article -
Pages '09: Inserting a Page Break
In a word processing document, click where you want the break to occur, and then choose Insert > Page Break.
To remove a page break, click at the beginning of the line that follows the break and press the Delete key.
In a page layout document, to insert a new page in your document, click Pages in the toolbar and choose from the template page options available.

Can't figure out how to change the bottom margins

This is my 3rd day with a mac and I can't figure out how to change the margins in Pages '09 so that it doesn't include a .5 margin on the bottom.
I'm using a HP OfficeJet J6450. In the page setup, I changed the "untitled" user defined margins to .1 for top and sides and 0 for the bottom and it still includes a .5 margin on the bottom. Changing the untitled seems to help side margins.
I've used the inspector to see if there is a setting there that defines the bottom margin as .5 and that doesn't seem to do it.
If I print borderless, the text boxes that I have a .3 border around don't print on the edges even though they show up on my workspace. It also throws off the top and bottom.
This is a big assumption, but I assumed that if the workspace and rules show white space and now grayed out, it would print that way. It's not.

Maybe this is true of Macs? On my windows systems - I can specify more options on both my printers and can print beyond .5 inches at the bottom. One specific option on my J6450 that I can select is "minimize borders" and it will print about .1 or .2 from the edge. On my mac, I do not have that feature to select. If I print borderless, even though my layout shows it should not go off the paper, once printed it does.

It doesn't sound like you "changed" your Apple ID, sounds like you created a new one. Bad idea. All content bought with an Apple ID is forever tied to that ID. The ID that bought the content is the only ID that can update the content. Apple does not merge IDs not does Apple transfer content from one ID to another.

Just open Pages on your iPhone... they should appear there.

A4 top and bottom margins too big - Pages 08

I am using the pages 08 in A4 document and the margin setup for the top margin is 0,35cm and bottom margins are 0,85 cm but in the print-out they are 3,5 cm and 4,5 cm. Header and footer are off

Similar problem landscape: two A5 columns on A4. All margins are not the very minimum I arranged for. Left is 6 cm, the other 2 or more cm. This doc printed properly in Pages '06.

That may just be part of your printer's non-printable area.
Most printers do not print right to the edge with a large margin at the bottom of the sheet.
To find out exactly where your printer prints, make a grey box to fill your entire page then print that, The white margins are non-printing.

I doubt you need hundreths as you would not even be able to measure that and the printer doesn't hold the paper to those tolerances.
fruhulda is right. Pages accepts higher measure but rounds it in the measure field.
If you want absolute accuarcy you need to set your measures to points. Everything else is being recalculated.

Bottom margin refuses to change!

I have noticed that there seems to be a minimum margin size for the bottom margin. If all margins are set to 0, all the text will go right to the edges of the page except the bottom, which always maintains a buffer of about a quarter inch no matter what I do with font size, line width, character spacing, etc.
Even more baffling, this buffer is different on two different documents which otherwise have all the same settings as far as I know. I'm viewing both of them in full screen mode with Layout turned on, and stranger still, one of them shows the margins as white "paper" and the other as a grayed out area with the "paper" not starting until the text does. Everything in Page Setup and Inspector is exactly the same! Any idea what's going on?

Since you have the problem with any word processor on a Mac or PC, I still think it's printer-related. Pages uses your default printer to show the printable area.
The other possibility is that you are running into the footer. By default headers & footers are turned on in a word processing document & the settings are 0.5" for the header & 0.6" for the footer. Go to the document inspector & reduce the settings to zero & uncheck the box.
