ICloud Password in Mail Problem

Why does mail keep asking the following:
Enter password for account iCloud.
The iCloud IMAP server “p07-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user.
What is this all about, why and how can it be solved?

The funny thing is that it seems to happen most often on my Mac in mail than on my iPhone or iPad. I have had to shut down and restart my computer and then it works but eventually it happens again. This seemed to start with iCloud.I have no problem with the mail on iCloud.com.
Any possible suggestions?

Couples months ago, i sold my old macbook, and someone is using my iCloud account to chat on FaceTime and access my data.

ICloud password and login problems

I have to verify my iCloud password every day through forgot.com using the memorable questions. I updated my phone to the latest IOS and I am using Mavericks on the Mac - other than that nothing has changed. This problem has only occurred in the past two weeks, I can't believe the account is being hacked EVERY day... Anyone having the same problem?

ICloud password and backup problem

iPad Air
8.2 iOS
Repeatedly asking for iCloud password. No pattern, just constantly.
I can verify the password by logging into iCloud itself, so I know the password is valid.
Also unable to run a backup.
If I sign out of iCloud (like it has been suggested elsewhere in this support group), delete at all prompts and sign back in -- that only means it deletes what is on the iPad itself, and iCloud will repopulate with all the deleted info (like photos) once I sign back in -- correct? Hitting delete is sort of scary, right?

Okay. signed out of iCloud. fixed the constant request for password, but now back up doesn't work because I suddenly need more room. It was fine 2 days ago before this all started and I haven't added anything to make it too large. What the heck?

I forgot my icloud password. Everytime i try to recover it by email, it says,"email sent to ypur address" but there is none :-(

Try contacting iTunes store support: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html. Even though this is an iCloud ID, it's still an Apple ID. iTunes store support deals with Apple ID issues all the time so they can probably help you with this.

Forgot my icloud password; e-mail account is deactivated.

I recently updated my iphone 4 to iOS 7.0. I tried to update my icloud account. However, I have forgotten my password to that account and I can't reset the password because that e-mail account is deactivated. I have another apple ID I use for the itunes store and such and want to use that for icloud. How do I accomplish this in my situation?

i have the same problem. Been working with HP to resolve video call problem where recipient cannot see me but I see them and my image fine. in the process skype was unintalled several times and reinstalled. each time password was rejected as invalid. had not changed it but was forced to. now am told that too many attempts have been made and to wait 24 hours. What bull**bleep**. somehow i am now signed on. i do not see how this company stays in business. they have no customer support address or phone to call.
From now on i will use carrier pigeons or cell phone.

HT5622 iCloud, old e-mail problem?!

I changed my e-mail on Apple ID a while ago and everything was fine until I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.
It keeps asking for my old e-mail (which i permanently deleted) for iCloud and it doesn't accept the current password, ofcourse.
How can I remove that account from my phone when it keeps asking for password to an e-mail that doesn't exist?
I tried deleting it from my phone but ended up having all of my contacts and some photos erased
Please HELP!

What did you upgrade to mt lion from? Was your email setup manually at one point? If it was, remove the account, and then make sure you're signed into the icloud preferences in system preferences and mail is checked off. That will automatically setup your email in the mail.app.
Just make sure your mail shows up properly at icloud.com before removing the account from the mail.app, first.

HT4597 icloud transfer re: mail problem

I moved to the cloud, but imac still seems to be using mobileme and has stopped importing my emails. I can send mail, but not receive incoming mail. My mail preferences indicate that there has been a transfer to icloud. I have to go to icloud website to get mail. what do I need to do to get icould mail via my imac mail application?

As it turns out, I unwittingly created this problem (most probably) by fixing permissions off the DW cd. I wrongly assumed (failed to read ALL the documentation) that this recently purchased "updated" DW cd was COMPLETELY Leopard compatible, BUT, as it turns out, ONLY rebuilding the directory was! So, by running fixing permissions off the DW cd, I was unknowingly fixing them with Tiger! Oy vey!
In the end, I had to create another admin account because of a seriously whacked Finder. All seems fine at the moment. Knock on wood.

ICloud Password and Mail

I'm trying to set up my me.com address in Mail but am experiencing difficulties. I am following the instructions in the support article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4002 but my password is rejected every time. I am using the same password I use to access iCloud via the website, which fits with the iCloud support article here http://help.apple.com/icloud/index.html?lang=en#mm6b1a5237
I am currently stuck for ideas. Could anybody please advise me what to do?

IOs 8.1 Mail app keeps asking for iCloud password

Since the update to iOs 8.1 i have a problem with my mailbox.
Every time i want to create a new mail, it asks me for my iCloud password.
This happens on my iPhone (6) and iPad (Air) while im in my iCloud inbox, Gmail inbox, or just the general overview.
Whenever i press the create new mail icon it will ask for my iCloud password.
- When i give the iCloud password (correct one) it wont ask for it again in the next 15 mins
- When i dont give the iCloud password (cancel) i can just send mails but it will ask for the password whenever i create a new mail.
What i did:
- Remove iCloud account > reboot > Add iCloud account > didnt solve the problem
- Remove Keychain > didnt solve the problem
- Remove iCloud photo's > didnt solve the problem
- Remove iCloud mail > still asks for the iCloud password.
- Remove iCloud > solves the problem but i dont want to remove iCloud
- Disabled all iCloud options, (mail, contacts, etc) > didnt solve the problem
- Disabled 2 step verification > didnt solve the problem
Everytime i want to create a new mail, u see the phone/pad use the "syncing icon" 3x 5 seconds, maybe a link here?
Anyone else with any ideas that i can try?

That's interesting that it didn't start to happen after a while on your work iPad. I just tried my iPad this evening and I'm getting the same iCloud password popup message when I try to create a new mail or enable "Contacts Only' in Airdrop.
I still think it's a problem with our iCloud accounts. Some flag in the system isn't set or something for some reason. I don't even have mail switched on in my iCloud account so there is no valid reason why Mail.app would try and authenticate to iCloud just because we create a new email.
Signing out of iCloud fixes the issue for me (not that it's a valid long term solution) so that points the finger directly at a setting on my server side iCloud account I think.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have asked for your email address to be edited out. Posting your address in an open thread is a sure way to be bombarded by unwanted email, remember it will be here long after you have resolved your problem, for automated detection software to find.
If you want people to contact you, enable others to see your email address in your profile.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID, verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

ICloud password not saving in Mail?

Since updating to Mavericks my iCloud password will not save into my account in Mail. I enter it in the Account Preferences and Save it and then it dissapears. It also askes for the password every time i restart Mail. This is pretty annoying and i'm not sure what to do? Does anyone know a solution to the problem?

OS 10.7.3 and Mail rejects my icloud password

I use a new imac (recently replaced my old one for iCloud readiness) with 4GB memory, OS 10.7.3, and Mail regularly rejects my icloud password. I have checked the account settings and they are as suggested. I have no problem with my iPad or my iPhone which are both running iOS 5+, and my password works fine everywhere else Apple-y.
It happens at least once per day, and when I cancel the request for password in a few minutes, without further action on my part, Mail decides it does know my password after all! o.O Curious. Not debilitating, but mildly annoying.
Could this be an icloud issue? Maybe they need to work on this? Or (gasp) is it just me!

      iam out of country and so use of Apple Care is muted as impractical. So anyway, the dreaded "password not recognized by server" keeps leering away at me. This happening 7 days after i leave plus no Apple Care, just what the doctor ordered..      the sick doctor that is.
       So anyway, today i'm strolling through 'System Prefs' and my eyes light on 'Mail,Contacts&Calendars' hmmm_click.
      The path found:
       _System Preferences_Mail,Contacts & Calendars_icloud_    Then: enter icloud email address
                                                                                                              enter icloud password
                                                                                                               _Create Apple ID
       Worked like a charm and it may for others.

Why would you delete your iCloud account for a password change with your Yahoo account?
Regardless, if no problem re-creating your iCloud account on your iPad, contact Yahoo technical support.
