ICloud password no recognized with new Apple ID

Yesterday I changed my apple ID to a new email address and updated my password. Now iCloud only shows my old Apple ID and will not recognize my new password that I updated.

You have chanded your Apple ID as described here: Change your Apple ID - Apple Support  ?
Have you set up all services to use the new Apple ID, like described in this document?  See this link:  Update the features and services

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

How do I "log out" or "sign out" of iCloud on my iPhone? There is an option to delete the account, but I just want to log off. I want to keep the account name for future use.

    Turn off iCloud completely
Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only some devices, do one or more of the following:
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
Note:   If you delete your iCloud account, iCloud will no longer back up your iOS data. You can still back up your device in iTunes (for more information, open iTunes and choose iTunes > Help).
On your Mac, open iCloud preferences, then click Sign Out.
If your Mac has OS X v10.7.5 and you turn off iCloud, your calendar information and reminders aren’t stored locally in iCal. If you want to retain your calendar and reminder information, you need to back it up before turning off iCloud. For more information, see the Apple Support article iCloud: Calendar & reminder data removed from Calendar and Reminders or iCal when disabling iCloud Calendar.
On your Windows computer, open the iCloud Control Panel, then click Sign Out.
Note:   If you turned on automatic download of music, app, or book purchases (in iTunes preferences or in Settings on your iOS device), your iTunes purchases are still downloaded to your devices.
Set up iCloud on your devices

  • I changed my Apple ID two weeks ago and I Accidently forgot to sign out of my iCloud on my iPhone 5C. now it wont let me change the iCloud ID to match my new Apple ID. How do I change my iCloud ID even though it is asking for the old ID?

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. How can I change my iCloud id to match my new apple id on my iphone?

To change the ID you have to delete the account, provide the password, then sign back in with the new ID.  If it isn't accepting the password, do the following...
If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. MY wife has an Iphone 4  and I have a 5. To date we have used one apple account to manage music purchases/library. I updated ny phone to the new OS version and all her texting is showing up on my phone.  I understand if i create an apple account for her I will not see her texts. Recently we bought a Mac and created a new apple account for her. How do I synched her phone with new apple account and get access to the music library under my account on the new MAC laptop  before I update her phone to the new OS?
Going forward if I purchase music under my apple id and want her to have it on her device, how can I acheive that?

You can continue to share an Apple ID for purchases.
Sign her in to her new account here:
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (Keep on Phone if you want to transfer contacts, calendars, etc...) then sign in with her new ID
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID > Sign out then in with new
Settings > FaceTime > Apple ID > Sign out then in with new
Use the same Apple ID here:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID

    Hi, stig2013.
I would recommend the steps in the article below.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If you are receiving an error message, find the exact error number that you recieved in the article below and process the steps.
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. You can resolve this issue by using USB troubleshooting, using a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

I want to use one of my icloud email addresses as a new apple ID.  It was an additional email contact address I originally set up for my child.  But now, I'd like to set her up on Family Sharing, using that email as her ID.  Obviously, when I try to use it when setting up a new apple ID, it says the email is already being used (Yes, by ME) and I need to select a different one.  Can I somehow delete that email address in order to set up a new apple ID using it?  Or is there another way to "re-use" that address for my child's new ID?

"Well, then I want to be able to merge that one and the one my purchases are on..."
This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
    Best wishes -

  • How do i change my icloud email to match my new apple id?

I recently changed my apple id to update to a new email and it never updated my email for icloud so now I can not log into icloud without it telling me it is wrong. where is there an option to go in and change my icloud email to match my new apple id?

You will need to log out of iCloud on all your devices and then log back in. On an iOS device go to Settings>iCloud and click 'Delete account' (this will not delete the account from the server). On a Mac go to System Preferences>iCloud and click 'Sign out'.

  • HT1311 How can I get updates for apps with new Apple ID

How can I get updates for apps with new Apple ID. I have apps that I got for free, and some that I have purchased. I had to create a new Apple ID because I don't have a credit card now.

Apps will always be tied to the ID in which they were purchased or downloaded under. You can not change this unless you buy or download the free  app using the new ID.

  • TS3991 When I open iCloud from system preferences, it is recognizing an old email address and will not let me in with new apple ID.  Advice?

When I open iCloud from System Preferences it is recognizing and old email address I longer use and will not let me log in with my new apple ID.  I've tried to change my apple ID and password, but it automatically brings up the old one.  How do I change that?

Sign Out of iCloud (in System Preferences) then Sign In with the new ID and password.

  • Just set up icloud with new apple id, can I still access old photostream?

I recently set up a new apple id using my gmail, had been using my aol email previously. After signing into icloud with the new apple id, obviously my photostream that existed under my old apple id is now gone. Is there a way I can still access the photostream from my old apple id or are those pics now lost?

Photo stream photos older than 30 days are gone unless they have already been downloaded to another device or computer.  However, if they were still in your camera roll when you last backed up, restoring the backup to your phone should recover them.
