ICloud password not stored

Yesterday I registered at an online forum site and, when I tabbed into the 'password' field, Safari offered to create one, and I accepted. I then had to wait for a confirmation email before I could actually log in. After confirming the registration I went back to log into the site, but Safari didn't put the password in the 'password' field. I expected it would. Is that right?
I then searched for the password in Safari>Preferences>Passwords and there's nothing stored for the website at which I registered. I opened Keychain Access, selected, 'All Items' and sorted by Date Modified and the latest entry is over two weeks old. I am now wary of allowing Safari to create passwords.
Can anyone suggest what happened to my password? Did I do something wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Steve  = : ^ )

Back up all data before proceeding.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
          Change Settings for Keychain "login"
In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ First Aid
There are four checkboxes in the window that opens. Check all of them. if they're not already checked. Close the window.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

Since updating to Mavericks my iCloud password will not save into my account in Mail. I enter it in the Account Preferences and Save it and then it dissapears. It also askes for the password every time i restart Mail. This is pretty annoying and i'm not sure what to do? Does anyone know a solution to the problem?

If iCloud mail is not opening or even recognizing your account, please check your settings to insure they are correct.

  • IPad Air cannot start cannot sync as looking for iCloud password not connecting to inernet

Entering password means nothing as cannot connect to the interenet

This is an iPad Air keeps asking for a iCloud password but doesn't do any good as it cannot open and connect to the internet until activated.   Would just do a complete initialization as do not know how to get there.

  • ICloud password not accepted after start Yosemite

Since a few weeks I have the following issue on my MacBook, running the latest OSx version: After starting the laptop I am asked to choose a user to unlock my hard disk (FileVault). My password is accepted. A few seconds after the desktop is shown, OSx asks my password for my iCloud account. When I enter my password, the popup screen to fill out the password keeps returning. Like it is not accepting my password. When I press Cancel, the popup screen disappears and I can work without any trouble.
Entering my iCloud password on e.g. the iCloud site or when installing an application is going ok. I am using the same iCloud account on my macbook, iPad and iPhone. On the iPad and iPhone I don't experience any problems.
How can I find out which application is asking for my iCloud account or (even better) how can I solve this problem??
I already did a password change hoping that this would solve any syncing problems. Unfortunately this didn't help.
    Anyone?????????

I have this too. I had it for Facetime, but I logged out of it, but to log out of icloud i need to go into System Preferences, but it crashes every time i click on the Icloud icon. But only crashes for Icloud, everything else works fine.

  • ICloud passwords not showing up in Safari on my Mac

All of a sudden, my iCloud passwords aren't automatically showing up when I try to login to websites in Safari on my Macbook Pro.  However, they all seem to be showing up in Safari on my iPhone just fine.  When I open the Keychain on my Mac, no website passwords are listed under iCloud passwords, which seems really strange.
Anyone have an idea as to how to get everything synced up properly?

    Hey BabyDingo,
I'm having the same problem too. Are your passwords still showing up on 'Keychain Access' on your Mac? Only a very few are showing up on my Mac but 90% of them can't be found in my Keychain Access, which is slightly worrying. I was also asked to sign into my FaceTime, Messages and iCloud again and was told I was signed into a new Macbook Pro when I never did anything of that nature.
    Very odd...

  • TS4002 Icloud Password not resetting

When entering my new icloud password (which has been accepted when resetting my password via the apple website) it keeps saying its incorrect!? Can any help please?? Px

Had an issue today where I'd plugged in my pad and phone and they hadn't backed up automatically as they should have done. I noticed on my phone lock screen that I had a warning notice where the OS said icloud required my password. I entered it and that's when I noticed that neither device had updated.
I was however able to update both devices manually with no problems , so can only hope that it'll be okay when I try it next which will probably be Friday now bearing in mind the 24 hour caveat.
Originally wouldn't let me look at the  manage storage section of iCloud on my phone but now does so something's up . I'm kinda hoping it's due to the demand after the update released..

  • ICloud password not accepted, intermittent failure and must be reset each time

So, my wife is becoming manic depressant when she tries to use her phone, computer, whatever...  on icloud.  It will work fine for a week or two, then suddenly the password for the same account she has had no problem with for the last 4 years doesn't work any more.  I then get called in to reset her password, re-sign in all of her devices, and she and I are happy once again.  This has happened a ******** amount of times, (more than 10).  I have went through the entire process of resetting all of the security questions... blah, blah... tech support... turn off,  sign out all devices, blah blah...  turn on, sign back in, on and on... update the computer, soft reset,  hard reset, "upgrade" to the new stupid operating system that she really hates, blah blah,  update the phone to an even worse OS,...  on and on.  Honest.  I've tried everything.   Everything is the latest model, and software version.
Does anyone out there actually know how to fix this intermittent problem?  There is no solid pattern to the time intervals. It can happen within hours, or weeks of me resetting the password and signing in.
Lately, I have spent more intimate time with my wifes Apple devices than her, and this is very disturbing for me. (and her)

    Hi,
Whilst Apple IDs that end in either @mac.com or @me.com they registration pages do not tell you that if you are going to be using it as an AIM Screen Name the password has to be 16 characters otr less.  (This is an AIM server limit)
At some point you will need to update the password.

  • Need to change iCloud password not apple id

MY ICloud (email) id and password are different than my Apple ID.  My ICloud (.ME) account has been disabled for security and I need to change my password.  Changing my apple id password does not do it.  How do I change just my Icloud email password?

I solved it.  I forgot that my email id is actually a 2nd apple id.  Why couldn't one of the experts have explained that when so many people had the same unanswered question?  It was simple.  In the apple id "iforgot" screen, instead of entering my apple id (for Itunes etc.) I entered my .me address. Then changed password to re-enable my email.  Jeez!

  • ICloud password not working on iPad

Hello, please help a very frustrated man about to throw my iPad out the window!
For the last week I have been trying to sync my 3 devices through iCloud, but can only manage 2. My notebook and iPhone have worked fine, but my iPad (first generation) is where the problems begin.
Every time I pick up the iPad, go to settings and click on iCloud I'm sure you all know it asks you for your Apple id and password. I know my password, I know it works fine on my other 2 device. If I type in my correct Apple id and a password I know is wrong you get 'user name or password is incorrect' and can click on 'ok' to re-try. However, if I type in my correct details I will again see the 'user name or password incorrect' prompt but then the screen freezes for about 5-10 minutes. During this time I can't click the 'ok' button or anything else in the settings section.
This has been going on a while now and I can't figure out what's going on. I am far from an expert, so need some help from people with more knowledge - this is where, hopefully, you come in.
Thanks in advance and please stop me having a very expensive frisbee!

After going through all that I found the answer in the 'more like this' section.

  • Apple ID and iCloud Passwords are Not the Same

iCloud uses a different password to login than my Apple ID which I use for iTunes and everything else I do with Apple. Can I change my iCloud password to match my Apple/iTunes ID or will that cause problems like those I've seen noted on forums? OR, is it a good idea to keep the passwords different since my Apple & iTunes ID is connected to my credit card?
Note in Case this Applies: I am running iTunes 11.1 on my MacPro in OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and will upgrade to Mountain Lion in October and then Mavericks when it arrives (if stable). I am about to install iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s (64G) and iPad 4 (32G).

Can I jump onto this discussion with a similar problem.
    I updated the OS on iPhone 5 and Ipad to get the latest security updates. Since then I cannot access my icloud account. I have tried changing the password and get to the point were I am sent a verification email and advised to;
"Check your email and look for a verification email from Apple. Click on the Verify Now link and sign in with your new Apple ID and password". Unfortunately there is no "verify now link"
Consequently I can no longer access my account. Any ideas?!

  • Apple id password not accepted on icloud

why is my apple id password not accepted when I try to login to iCloud? The same password worked when I tried to login to support to post this question!

If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • HT204053 Seems my iCloud password is not the same as my iTunes.  Where do I go to reset my iCloud password?  I cannot access anything when prompted to put in my iCloud password because I do NOT KNOW it.  Thanks!

Seems my iCloud password is not the same as my iTunes.  Where do I go to reset my iCloud password?  I cannot access anything when prompted to put in my iCloud password because I do NOT know it.  Thanks!  I've used my iTunes password for everything else Apple does and would like to use the same one for my iCloud.

    Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • I broke my old 4S and purchased the same one. I am trying to back up my contacts and notes stored on iCloud w/out wiping everything out. How do I go about doing so? I want to retrieve what I backed up priviously earlier in the month.

I had to buy a new phone b/c my last one broke before my 2 year contract was up. I have another 4S. I use iCloud and backed up my old phone earlier this month. I am wanting to upload my contacts & notes stored on iCloud to my new phone. How can I do this from the back up on my home computer before retrieving the backup from iCloud? I am not wanting to wipe everything out on accident..

Sorry but I'm a bit confused about what you're asking.  You seem to be indicating that you have an iCloud backup as well as a backup on your computer but it isn't clear to me what you are trying to do with them.  Can you explain this?
