ICloud Photo Library doesn't upload

I have this issue since this morning (I live in Italy, so it's been happening the whole day): when I take a photo (or save it) with my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.3), the Photos app starts to upload it but within a few seconds it stops, and instead of showing "uploading 1 photo" it shows "1 photo to upload" (I don't know if this sentences are right, since I have my iPhone set in Italian). I've already tried soft reset, turning off and then on iCloud Photo Library, and even the whole iCloud, but the issue isn't gone. Please someone help me!

It doesn't seem bad to me, though ...
My Photo Stream upload limits
The My Photo Stream limits below are based on anticipated upload patterns. My Photo Stream upload limits are as follows:
Uploads to My Photo Stream per hour: 1000 photos
Uploads to My Photo Stream per day: 10,000 photos
Uploads to My Photo Stream per month: 25,000 photos
If you exceed one of these limits, your uploads to My Photo Stream will pause temporarily and you might see a notification on your device. Your uploads will resume automatically when you no longer exceed the limit, such as in the following hour or on the following day.
iCloud Photo Sharing limits
These are the iCloud Photo Sharing hourly and daily limits:
Maximum combined number of photos and videos from all contributors per shared stream, per hour: 1000
Maximum combined number of photos and videos from all contributors per shared stream, per day: 10,000
These sharing limits are separate from the upload limits above. For example, in the same day you could upload 10,000 photos to My Photo Stream, then share those 10,000 photos or 10,000 other photos. Some additional limits for shared photo stream usage:
Maximum shared streams an owner can share: 100
Maximum shared streams a user can subscribe to: 100
Maximum subscribers per shared stream: 100 (the number of subscribers on each shared stream)
Maximum combined number of photos and videos from all contributors in any one shared stream album: 5000
Maximum number of comments per photo or video in a shared stream: 200 (a comment can be either a Like or a text entry)
Maximum characters per comment: 200
Maximum number of invites a shared stream owner may send per day: 200

  • Icloud photo library doesn't syncr from my iPhone

    Hello to everyone,
I Have activated iCloud Photo Library on my iPhone and on my iPod. My iPod sync, but my iPhone 6 Plus has stopped doing it for a long time. I have extra space available on my iCloud account. I've tried to disable and to re-nable the function on my iPhone. I've tried to logout and to logon in my iCloud account, but nothing change, the syncro seems frozen, remain stuck in uploading photos to the cloud, and do not download/show anything. I have uploaded in the iCloud Photo app on the www.icloud.com site more photos that i can immediately see on my iPod (touch 8gb 6th generation), but nothing on my iPhone. I restored my iPhone but nothing again. I know that it's a beta, but I would like to know if I can resolve this big issue for me in somehow.
Anybody here has had the same problem?
Many thanks in advance fo any suggestion/solution.

    Trent 1982 solution works!
I tried just about everything that I could think of as well as some of the solutions described above.  What worked was syncing my iPad with iTunes and transferring a few photos over to the iPad.  Then I turned on iCloud Photo Library and it asked to delete the photos I transferred and then iCloud Photo Library started syncing!
This problem has been bugging me for weeks and I am glad that it is fixed now!

  • Icloud photo library restarting entire upload process after process is complete

Recently turned on ICloud Photo Library, and everything transferred fine from my three devices (two iphones and rMBP), it took about a a week to upload everything (I have 22,000 photos, about 60 gb). The process basically merged my entire photo library from three separate devices. However, i discovered this morning that one of my iphones appears to be 'restarting' the upload process, and is trying to upload the entire content of its library, about 22,000 photos. This includes photos that were not in the iphone 6 originally, including photos from my Mac that was downloaded from the iCloud Photo Library.
Anyone encountered this problem before? My concern is that it will reupload everything resulting in 44,000 photos in my icloud library or at least duplicate some of the existing photos in the icloud photo library.
    Thanks in advance.

Ah, one thing I forgot. Despite the fact that I let my Mac running since two weeks to get my Library online, the Photos App NEVER did an update FROM the icloud library. I added some Photos through Ipad and Iphone, but they never appeared in my Photos Library.
It is such a mess I tried to cry, but I cried enough when Mobile Me was around...

  • ICloud Photo Library won't upload photos from my PC, cites network error

The new photo app for iCloud.com is supposed to allow uploading photos from my PC to my iCloud Photo Library, which will then be accessible from my iPad and iPhone.  But when I try to upload photos from my PC I get a message that the upload failed due to "network error."  Uploading from the iPhone or iPad works fine.  Any suggestions?

I have the same issue. These are my findings so far:

  • ICloud Photo Library won't upload pics from iPhone

    Hi all,
So I think it might have been with the 8.3 update, but for some reason any new pics taken on my iPhone will not upload to my iCloud Photo Library. I've tried turning off/on iCloud Photo Library, syncing with my computer, etc. but nothing has helped. Anyone else struggling with this/have a solution getting your pics to sync between devices? Thanks!

  • ICloud Photo Library doesn't load photos on cellular

    Hi,
I tried searching for this issue but I didn't find anything so I'm trying to ask here. I have this problem with iCloud Photo Library on my iPhone, when I'm on cellular the pictures won't load and I only see blurry thumbnails with and exclamation mark in the bottom right corner. I was hoping that the new iOS 8.3 will solve this issue since it's not "Beta" anymore, but it didn't, only difference is that the loading indicator loads to 1/4 and then the exclamation mark appears. On wifi its working with no problems.
Anyone having the same issue? Any thoughts?
    Thank you for replies
    Cheers
    Milan

I'm having the same problem as well. I was able to access my photos in my iCloud Photo Library at iCloud.com last night just fine. However this afternoon I can't get it to open up. For a while the "Photo" icon was not even showing up. Now it shows up but when I click it I get the message "There was a  problem loading the application."
Wonder if the system is down?

  • Difference between iCloud Photo Library and Upload to My Photo Stream?

What is the difference between the iCloud Photo Library and the Upload to My Photo Stream options in the iCloud settings on my iPhone / iPad? Is it that uploading to the iCloud Photo Library uploads the images to iCloud (for viewing via browser) and using the Photo Stream only syncs the images between iOS devices?
I've had an iPad for awhile but I just got my first iPhone and I'm trying to understand the sync behavior. It seems that with both options enabled (iCloud and Photo Stream), every single image, screenshot, picture downloaded from Twitter, etc is all getting lumped together in the All Photos album and then synced everywhere. I absolutely do not want this. Can I have just a Camera Roll folder that syncs between devices, and then downloads / screenshots / etc stay local to the device without syncing?
I'm coming from Windows Phone, which worked exactly how I just described. Pictures taken with the phone went to the Camera Roll and the Camera Roll synced to OneDrive, and then images downloaded via other apps, or screenshots, went to separate albums that did not sync (unless I configured those albums to sync). This way everything was logically separated, easy to find, and I had complete control over the syncing behavior. This is what I'm trying to replicate on my iPhone.
Oh, is it true that every image *has* to be in the All Photos albums? There's no way to move screenshots and downloads to separate albums so they don't get cluttered with pictures I take? Or can I enable a separate Camera Roll folder?
    Jason

I realize no one is twisting my arm to use anything. But that doesn't stop me from being disappointed about iOS's photo management capabilities compared to what I was used to in Windows Phone.
I already have unlimited OneDrive storage per my Office 365 account so that's not an issue. I just assumed that iCloud would be a more elegant photo syncing solution since it's built into the OS so that was the path I wanted to pursue. However now that I have a better understanding of the iCloud solution, it's clear that I'll stick with the OneDrive app for iOS to automatically back up my photos there instead of iCloud.
Not trying to be snarky and I do appreciate the info and links provided - those definitely helped.

  • Since iCloud Photo Library will not allow photos from iTunes iphoto to be up loaded ---how do I upload my photos to iCloud Photo Library?

I Have a 5s iPhone updated to 8.1---- have installed iCloud Photo Library---- will only upload 4oo of 21,000 photos--- will not upload any photos from iTunes. Since all 21,000 are in iPhoto's iTunes how do I get them to the icloud photo library.  As you know enabling iCloud Photo Library deletes all iTunes photos from the iPhone 5s.  Any ideas?

I Figured it out----- you can't upload iTunes iphotos to iCloud Photo Library from an iPhone!  Can't be done.  Must have a Mac to do it--- and it better not be an old one. Thanks apple!

  • Photos stopped uploading to iCloud Photo Library beta.  Any suggestions?

Yesterday I set up iCloud Photo library beta to upload my photos to iCloud.  Aft 40 photos uploaded it seems that the upload is stuck and won't upload any more photos.  I went to the iCloud photos beta site and the 40 or so photos that uploaded are there.

    Hi,
I had this exactly. My iPhone and iPad got stuck just moments after I enabled Icloud Photo Library.
I then plugged my ipad overnight to a charger and in the morning, it was all synced
So I plugged my iphone and it immediately started syncing the rest.
    Hope it helps someone

  • ICloud photo library and iCloud storage

How do I clear up my iCloud photo library because I uploaded all my photos to my Mac so they're safe and I deleted a lot from my phone because I had no use for them since they're  on my computer but I still have like no storage on my iCloud. So is it best that I turn off I loud library to clear and then after 30 days turn it back on ?

yeah, I don't think they are allowing you to do this. You can only optimize the locally stored photos, and if the phone fills up with those, it will then dump some from your phone but keep them in the cloud. Like you, I was hoping that once you store a photo in iCloud, you could remove the local copy of the photo. and worse, if you do start deleting photos from your phone, it sounds like they automatically get deleted off of the cloud, after 30 days that is. Doesn't make sense to me. Finally, on your mac, if you have more photos than you have iCloud photo storage, it just stops syncing, rather than just storing your most recent pics?!?

  • ICloud Photo Library Differences Across Devices

I have updated to Photos on my Mac and using iCloud Photo Library and I'm having issues as the number of pictures is different in my Mac, iPhone and iCloud library. I have always used iPhoto as my main library so upon upgrading to Photos, I uploaded that library to iCloud Photo Library. It uploaded all night and now is showing ~7,500 photos with 168 to be uploaded. Those 168 to be uploaded hasn't changed since last week which is strange given Photos is otherwise working well (ie. properly processing edit / delete I did on my phone). I didn't wanted to have to deal with duplicate so I deleted all photos on my phone and turned on ICloud Photo Library. While there was some hiccups along the way (it worked fine at uploading pics until it started to upload only ~75% of pictures with the remaining staying gray which I then had to manually open), it now show that it is fully uploaded, yet it is only showing 6,539 pictures. When I check iCloud photo, I see it has just been updated, yet there is 6,617 photos. I can't really explain the difference in # of photos across the libraries as it should be the same. Anyone having the same issue and / or know how to fix this. I can't manually go through the libraries to see if there are discrepancies.

    Thanks,
Unfortunately, I have already clicked the "importing: copy items to Photo Library" box. I only had about 6,600 photos in iPhoto so I am not sure why Photos is telling me I have ~7,500 pictures. I think the large number is due to some double counting of pictures due to my Photostream being uploaded first. When I first opened Photos, it did not recognize my iPhoto library (it's store in my Google Drive folder) so it loaded my photostream. When I realized the mistake, I loaded the iPhoto library, made it the default library and deleted the Photos library that only contained pictures from my photostream. However, Photos never adjusted the # of photos to reflect the fact that I had deleted the library.

  • ICloud Photos Disappeared after enabling iCloud Photo Library

    Hi,
I have quite a complicated problem.
About two weeks ago I bought a new iPhone 5S (now running iOS 8), to replace my ageing iPhone 5.
All my photos were backed up on the iPhone 5, and then restored onto my 5S.
Recently, when I enabled iCloud photo library (Beta) on my 5S, all of my photos from a period of time (January to October this year) became grey thumbnails on my iPhone. When I looked at an individual photo, a message: 'loading' was where the photo should have been.
The loss of all of these photos is seriously troubling for me, and anyone who can give me a solution to this problem will receive huge respect from me.

    Hi goblue123,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that some of your older photos appear to have been removed from your iPhone after turning on iCloud Photo Library beta. Please read over the attached article for why this may have happened. If the photos are still on your computer, you can sync them back to your iPhone.
iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
What if some of my photos are missing after I turn on iCloud Photo Library?
iCloud Photo Library won't upload lower resolution photos and videos synced to your device from iTunes. You can use these steps to move the photos from your computer to your iOS device.
    Best regards,
    Joe

  • Photos for OS X stuck "uploading X items" to iCloud Photo Library

21.5 iMac running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 (all patches applied)
200GB iCloud Storage with 171GB Free
    iPhone 5s running iOS 8.3
When I enabled iCloud Photo Library on my Mac within the New Photos application it uploaded 12,182 out of the 15,125 photos successfully. All 12,182 photos are viewable in iCloud.com and on my iPhone. Photos is stuck "uploading 82 items". I have signed out and back into iCloud on my Mac, rebooted my Mac, rebooted my time capsule, disabled and then re-enable iCloud Photo Library, paused for a day then resumed and left my Mac running for days straight.
iCloud Photo Library works perfectly on my iPhone. When I take a photo it's uploaded to iCloud.com, when it's deleted it's then removed from iCloud.com. Since the Photos application is stuck "uploading" it's not receiving any new photos shot with my iPhone.
Any constructive comments, help or fixes are very welcome.
    Thank you

Same here. plenty of storage on iCloud, yet I'm stuck with 500 photos uploaded out of 400 total.
The OS X Photos app is not doing anything and has stopped uploading 2 days ago.
    Reboot doesn't help.
    Anyone else seeing this issue???
