ICloud prob.

I bought aused iPhone4s  and when I want to configure an account in iCloud be the answer he was activated maximum of free accounts on this phone. How can I get rid of this problem?

You can't.
You will have to setup an iCloud account on a different device or a Mac and then log in to it on the phone you bought.

  • ICloud not syncing 3rd party app docs; developer says its known iCloud prob

I have at least two apps (that I know of) where, in the past two days, iCloud sync has become extremely buggy and basically stopped uploading updates. I contacted one of the app developers, who responded, "It appears to be an Apple problem with their iCloud servers not uploading or downloading the documents I am storing in iCloud. It's affecting lots of apps. . . Hopefully Apple will fix it soon."
Is that true? I'm having almost identical problems on two apps (Day One and Tap Forms). The syncing problem is identical on my MacBook Pro 13" Retina, iPhone 5 and iPad 3rd generation. I've tried all of the recommended steps, including the painful "reset all settings". No improvement.
    Anyone know what's going on?

I noticed that this bug kicks in only if i don't mark the reminder as done by the end of the day! and each time it tends to reschedule only at 5.30 pm.

iWork apps no longer sync with iCloud. I am on iOS 5.1,1, and this problem is several days old, before it was working fine. Anyone has an idea?

Sadly this is not a new problem and I would not expect a forthcoming solution.  I bought an iPad 3G and the iWork suite at the end of August and iCloud syncing worked fine.  About the time Apple rolled out iOS 6 the syncing stopped working for me (without me upgrading or changing anything).  It has never really worked since.   Run iOS 5.1.1 on both the iPhone 4 and iPad 3G.  The "geniuses" claim that Apples iOS 5 requirement is not correct and that I MUST upgrade both to ios 6 (although I know for fact that lots of folks STILL have the iCloud probs even with its 6.  The last genius basically shrugged and non-verbally acknowledged the iCloud/iWork failing and suggested "just use Dropbox.". So why the **** did we pay for iWork!?!?!
Basically the  iwork/iCloud Connnection is broken and I have yet to get a viable solution to repair the issue.  Sorry for the bad news.  For reference I have uninstalled/installed each iteration of iWork upgrades on each device without success.  I have reset all settings multiple times, turned iCloud off/on repeatedly etc etc without success.  I even wiped the iPad and restored from iCloud w/o intention (another Apple IPad "glitch" when I tried the "reset all settings" and the iPad decided to "erase all" instead.  The genius said "it happens.")
Oddly, the Pages app is the only one that has marginally worked at times since the first probs.  However it is basically broken and non-functioning.  Certainly DO NOT trust vital documents to iCloud/iWork.  I lost a number of work critical docs in this whole annoying, messy process of trying to get what Apple promised as easy....

  • IOS 7 update backup won't restore

So my iPhone 4s will not restore my backup to iOS7, I am getting the message your backup was corrupt or is not compatible with the iPhone that is beinng restored.
The issue I experienced getting to this point:
    - Backups completed twice fine
    - Downloaded update to PC fine
    - Phone dropped out while restoring iOS 7 to it
    - In the "connect to itunes" mode the phone comes up in after failure I applied the update again and it worked fine (removed additional USB devices from PC)
    - Chose the backup I wanted to restore to it (backup from the latest iOS6 version for iPhone 4s)
    - Restore fails due to "iTunes could not restore the iPhone "*phone name*" because the backup was corrupt or is not compatible with the iPhone that is beinng restored"
I have rolled back to 6.1.3 to restore my backup but I am getting the same error. I have moved the latest backup on my PC from AppData and am trying with an older backup getting the same error.
I cannot afford to not be able to restore my backup as I have favourites data in TomTom that I need and a lot of apps that I am going to loose data from. I need help to resolve.
There has never been any issues with backing up my phone (I have backups done over WiFi and USB) so there should be no reason why my backups would be corrupt. If my backup is corrupt and iTunes hasn't verified it and warned me prior to a restore, **** is going to hit the fan.
Could the fact that I have attempted to restore the backups to iOS 7 caused the corruption and not not able to restore on iOS 6?

It was taking so long to back up to icloud (prob bec it was my first time to back up to it) that I cancelled it. I rebooted my 4s, then on my computer, I deleted the back up created that day, rebooted my computer, then reconnected my 4s to itunes. Did another full back up. After that I connected my 5s to itunes then let it sync. I then did a restore to the back up I just created. Luckily it worked this time. Not perfect, it did not transfer over the music, videos, tones, and not all apps from my 4s appeared on the 5s, however, the most important thing to me at that point was to get all the Notes I had in my 4s into my 5s and all the saved stuff on the homescreen. The music and other stuff I just dragged from my iTunes library into the 5s.
Maybe it would have been better if I restored the 5s to factory settings then did the restore from back up. I've been an iphone user since the original one and this is the most frustrating time I've has transferring stuff over from the old phone. Would it have anything to do with AT&T new policy to activate it at the store? Previously, I walked away with the phone still wrapped and set it up from scratch at home and had no problems. Oh well...
I must say after that, I am happy with the 5s so far, super fast, the camera is better than the 4s. Still playing around with it. I am not into all the technical stuff so if some people are, they might find some not so great stuff about it, but to each his own.
If somebody else can figure out a better way to do the transfer, hopefully, they'll post it here. Good luck, hopefully your issues get resolved soon!

  • Does anyone know if my iphone 5s contents are backed up automatically within icloud.  Because i need to take back to factory setting and prob will lose everything on my phone

Does anyone know if my iphone 5s contents are backed up automatically within icloud.  Because i need to take back to factory setting and prob will lose everything on my phone

If iCloud Backup is turned on in Settings->iCloud->Backup
The iPhone will backup automatically, when its plugged in, locked, and connected to Wifi.
So if you let it charge while connected to wifi recently for a few hours and did not use it, it probably backed up.
If you can still access the iPhone, you can check the date of the last iCloud backup in Settings->iCloud->Backup

  • I'm having probs backing up iPhone 5 to iCloud - just sits on the backing up screen with message 'estimated time remaining....' But goes no further and doesn't back up - wifi is fine and definitely enough storage spaces. Anyone have any ideas plea

I'm having probs backing up iPhone 5 to iCloud - just sits on the backing up screen with message 'estimated time remaining....' But goes no further and doesn't back up - wifi is fine and definitely enough storage spaces. Anyone have any ideas please?

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • HT1296 Can't get photos from icloud & more probs??

    1. Some months ago, my husband's phone packed up & he wen't to the istore for a replacement. The guy there said he was able to retreive pictures off the old phone & had put them on icloud. My husband doesn't have an icloud account so the guy somehow put them on mine(don't know how he got into it, without password, etc). We've been unable to find them though & istore was no help, saying we needed icloud on the computer to get it - had WinXP at the time & was unable to do that.
So I've just upgraded to Win7 and still can't work out how to get the photos! It seems now there's just a website for icloud, when I thought previously you had to download a program. On the page it doesn't show photos or videos. Somewhere in my travels I came across an icloud page that showed various 'albums' of mine, which included my husband's lost ones. But I couldn't do anything with it & haven't been able to find it again. How do I get these photos??
    2. Also when I look at my contacts in icloud, they're old & include my husband's contacts. Also the calendar has obviously synced & shows current events, with correct days, but with the wrong times!! WTH??
    3. Since upgrading computers, when I tried to sync my phone with itunes, it came up that I had to erase my phone, because it is synced with another itunes library(that was on this computer, now no more!) So... been searching for answers today to no avail.
I was able to 'transferred my purchases' from the phone to itunes, but not sync. & then when I plugged it in last time, to press sync & get the exact message to post on a help forum, it didn't give me the message!! No message for a basic sync, it just didn't work. But when I go into the 'tones' & 'music' tabs & click 'sync music' it comes up with 'Do you want to remove existing music...from iphone? Remove & Sync is the only option!!
When I 'authorised' this computer it also said '5 of 5 allowed on the account'. As we have 3 computers & this one obviously has registered as 2(don't know where the 5th one comes in), I figure the next problem will be that we can't authorise the other computers at all!!
So I presume answer to no.3 is in cancelling the accounts for the previous 'library' on this & other computers, but how do you do that??? Presume my husband will have the same problem on his computer, as that's also upgraded to Win7.

Can anyone help? Basically, any photos I send to iCloud are not going to my iPad now since updating. Would appreciate any advice please.
    thanks

  • Two icloud accounts- probs

I've got two iCloud accounts, poss even three, not done intentionally but historically through ignorance of how the whole iCloud, Apple ID, iTunes, iMessage thing works. My Mac is signed in to one account but my iPhone is signed into another. I want to just use one for obvious reasons to have common contacts on each. The thing is then when I go to sign out of one on my Mac it says that Photo Stream photos and Documents & Data stored in iCloud will be removed from this iPhone. I'm wondering what's the best thing to do??

I think you start by analyzing what you have in the cloud on each account, so you can see what is easiest to move to a different account. If you don't actually have photos or documents in he cloud on that one account, then you're just seeing some boilerplate warning that doesn't matter. You need to know one way or the other.
There is at some level a way to combine IDs; my sister had that done by someone at Apple when she had a very old iTunes ID and a newer one from her phone. However, the iTunes one wasn't really anything to do with the cloud.

  • Prob. deleting iCloud downloads...

I thought that iCloud let me stream my music from my iTunes. I am guessing this is wrong. Now I am over-capacity from everything i downloaded from iCloud. How do I erase?....apparently can't fix it by syncing with my mac.

Do you have a computer (Mac or Windows PC)? If so, you should connect the devices to the computer, open iTunes and make a backup to the computer. You can then safely delete your iCloud backups if you like. A new device can be restored from the itunes backup.

  • I deleted an app that I had on my iPod after backing it up on iCloud. When I went to the App Store to redownload it showed it doing so then gave me the option to open. Only prob is it wouldn't open and doesn't show up on my iPod. What can I do??

  • How can I change my iCloud account on my iPhone?

I had to change my email for my apple id, after deleting my email account.  In the past few days, my phone has been promting me to login to my account, however, it prompts mme with the old email.  I didn't change my password when switching emails, but it still does not recognize that password.
I did my research and I stumbled upon threads who suggested deleting the iCloud account from my phone.  However, here's my problem:
When attempting to delete my account, it asks me to turn off Find My iPhone, which requires my password.  It then sends me back into the loop of not recognizing my password with my old iCloud email.

I went into iCloud on my iPhone 3gs (I know it's really old but had to sort this prob out as have upgraded to 5c ) and turned off Find My iPhone. I then deleted the account, making sure I backed up the photos in the photostream first. I then went back into iCloud on my iPhone 3gs and my new email address appeared. I was then able to create a new iCloud account with my new password. Hope this works for you too

  • Prob. with iTunes, Phone won't shut off.  Tks.

3GS with 6.1.3 Prob. with iTunes.  When I want to close out of iTunes after a Podcast the App will not close out when I hit Home. All other Apps shut down, only prob. is with iTunes.  Cant turn phone off goes back ti iTunes when turned on again.  Tks.

I hope the previous replies are wrong. It was my understanding that even when Match is turned off in iTunes, music previously matched or uploaded to iCloud will stay there, associated with my Apple ID, even through a cold boot etc. If you want to remove songs from iCloud, but keep them locally, do this:
    1. Click "Store" in the iTunes top Menu
    2. Select "Turn on iTunes Match" (if it isn't already turned on)
    3. Close iTunes.
    4. Hold down the Shift key while you open iTunes - this will prompt you to choose or create a (new, locally empty) Library in a different folder from your main Library.
    5. Now you should see ONLY music that is stored in iCloud.
    6. Delete them all. iTunes will show a checkbox or button for you to click to delete the selected items from iCloud.
    7. Turn off iTunes Match (see #1)
    8. Restart iTunes with the Shift key again, so you can get back to your main Library - with Match turned off.

  • HT4864 Is there any way to use POP mail with iCloud?

Hi newbie here, so be kind!  Just trying to set up iCloud on my new iPad, my iPhone 3G and my oldish Windows PC running Vista.  I have managed to get the iPad and iPhone running relatively well, but the real reason I wanted to synch all my devices was because I am buried beneath all the emails that I receive each day and cleaning them off three devices was a real hassle (1st world prob I know).  My PC is running Windows mail because I couldn't get Yahoo mail to run on POP or IMAP settings. So I have been happily downloading Yahoo mail (via) POP into Windows mail for a few years now.  However I have hit an Apple Support doc saying that I cannot use POP settings in iCloud (if you know what I mean), I have to use IMAP.  Can anyone help me with what settings I need to put in Windows Mail to make it sync with the mail client on my phone and iPad?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Gmail and all POP systems are not iCloud mail. iCloud mail ends with @mac, @me or @icloud.com, Gmail and POP systems are not handled by iCloud mail systems.

  • How do I log into my iCloud account on my iPad

Everytime I time to log into my iCloud on my iPad (within Safari) it delivers a screen asking me to setup iCloud again, it also invites me to download "find my iPhone" and "find my friends" apps which I already have on the iPad. My iCloud a/c is active for several weeks and I have purchased additional storage, I have no prob on my iMac or MB Pro, any ideas anyone? Obviously I am using -  www.icloud.com...

    Tom,
Winston's note above, is correct for accessing your iCloud account on an ipad. You cannot open the iCloud web site on your ipad, only on your iMac. However, you can eliminate your photo stream pics directly on your ipad. Open the ipad photo app. The top menu bar includes the "photo stream" tab where you can see those photos. Tap a photo so that it enlarges.... then on the top right is the "trash" icon, which allows you to delete one photo at a time. BTW, the quickest way to eliminate a number of photos in your Photo Stream collection is to use your iPhoto application on your iMac, which will then remove them from your ipad, too.
