ICloud problem after change of email address

I recently changed my email address and iCloud keeps popping up asking for password of old address.  How do I change iCloud info to new email addr?

You need to sign out in System Preferences or Settings>iCloud and then sign back in with the new ID. To sign out on an iOS device click 'Delete Account' - this will not delete the account from the server, just sign the device out.

  • How do u delete iCloud account or CHANGE the email address?

    Long story short, I ended up having to restore to factory settings my iphone.  I had planned on restoring one of the backups that I had done through iTunes.  (Yes, I now know to backup through iCloud so please do NOT suggest that -.-) but it kept telling me that there was a threat detected in the backup file??? So skipped it. And tried again. Didn't work. Got same msg about the threat. So I ended up healing the threat and then it told me that it couldn't restor the backup because a file was either missing or corrupted. I'm like..***!!! Ughness.
    So now I'm trying to set it up so that I can back it up via iCloud so that this stupid issue doens't occur again, but my old @rogers.com email address is the iCloud email addres and I'm trying to change it in the iPhone to my @bell.net email address.  I have changed it in itunes.  It's working there...but my stupid iPhone keeps asking me for the password on the Apple ID that has the @rogers.com email address. THAT IS NOT THE EMAIL ADDRESS THAT IS SET UP IN MY APPLE ID! I have already set up the new one....which is the @bell.net one but for some stupid reason, iCloud keeps wanting the @rogers.com one...and whenever I enter it, it's not correct because that email address has been removed.
    Can someone PLEASE help me.

    You can't actually terminate an iCloud account, though obviously you can simply log out of it on all your devices and then ignore it in future.
    I gather that the @icloud.com address is also the actual ID? You can't change that. However if your Apple ID that you use to log into iCloud is a non-Apple email address you can change that - please follow carefully the instructions here:

    If it's this non-Apple address which is compromised then changing the ID will solve that. If it's the @icloud.com address which is compromised then you cannot change that though you can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
    You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

    However if you add an alias the original address will still function, so if you are getting a lot of spam it will still arrive.
    You can get a completely new iCloud account simply by creating a new Apple ID at http://appleid.apple.com , for which you will need a new non-Apple address which has never been associated with an Apple ID.
    You will need to sign out of the old account on all your devices and sign in with the new ID.
    If none of this solves the problem and it is a security issue, go to https://getsupport.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Apple ID account Security'.

  • After changing the email address to my appleid I still receive emails about purchases on the old email (as well as the new).

    I recently changed the email address that was my Appleid. I verified it and followed all the steps the web told me to do. I signed out of itunes on my laptop and back in. I signed out of everything and back in on my ipod touch.
    Today I made my first purchase since that change, it was on a new computer. I authorized that computer and went through the steps itunes asked me for, password, security questions and so forth. I received an email stating a purchase had been made on a new computer.
    The problem is that I also received the same email at my old email address as well as the new one.
    When I check my appleid on the internet it says that only the new email is associated with the appleid. Which is how I want it. Why did the old email address get the mail as well as the new? Is there any way to stop that from happening in the future?

    Erasing and resetting the network settings in the phone seems to have done the trick.  Facetime is now working again.
    Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings.
    I did not have to remove all data from the phone.

  • After changing the email address associated with my my daughter's Apple ID, Facetime has stopped working.

    Both the email address and the password were changed.  Email address and alternate email address were verified.  Signed in with the new email address on phone, Itunes, and App Store.  Still, facetime does not work.  When she tries to sign in, she gets a message "check your network".  I have signed the phone out of the WiFi and signed back in.  Network does not seem to have an issue.

    I have tried resetting the primary email address to verifiy the apple id and checking spam boxes etc and still no email to verify arrives - so frustrating as trying to set up iCloud - any ideas?

    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    1. Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    2. Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    3. Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    4. Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.

    So we had to switch email providers. I changed my iTunes email address in my account settings. The 15.00 in my balance is now not listed at the top of iTunes, and when I purchased a song, it charged my debit card a dollar.
    Any ideas? Quick fix?

    I have already download pokedex ios in my ipad and purchased pokedex in all region but there was an internet problem. i could download only Kanto and Sinnoh then i deleted application and redownload again. when i choose restore and add my Apple password, nothing happen. i  tab purchase $5.99 for all region it show " you're already purchased this but it hasn't been download. Tap OK to download it now. Add my password. then i show "Error Cannot connect to iTune store." I don't know what happened. i try to check my Apple ID in App store, in iTune store, my Payment --> It's OK. No any problem.
    Please help me, i don't know how to solve this problem.

  • Cannot change my email address

    I just tried twice to change my email address. Each time, it said it changed it, I got the verification email, I clicked on the link, I checked the Settings, and the new email address was displayed. And both times when I logged off, I was unable to log back in using the new email address. I could using the old one. What is going on?

    This is all very well, but it seems that there's an endemic problem here - I'm experiencing the same problem as those above, and after 18 months I'm sure we're not alone.  Is anybody actually working out what the root cause of the problem is and fixing it once and for all?  You shouldn't really continue point customers back to the customer help guys on a case by case basis - it must be driving a huge amount of waste into the system, which must now be operating with a lot of out of date email addresses and annoyed the customers.
    So, what's the underlying problem with changing the email address in MyBT?
    Why has this been a problem for so long?
    When is expected to be fixed?
    How can everyone else visiting this thread get their problem solved without having to make yet another contact?

    I changed my email address a few years ago. I did not have any problems after this change until I got a new computer. Now I cannot play items that were purchased under the previous email. I entered the password that I used and it doesn't recognize it. I tried "forgot your password" in every combination possible. I never received any emails at the old email address. Now the old email address no longer even exists. How can I access these hundreds of items?

    The old email address may well still be valid as your iTunes AppleID, however if you have no other email associated with that ID you clearly won't get any automated emails to it.
    I still use an old defunct email for my iTunes AppleID.

  • I recently changed my email address and switched it to my primary address on my Apple ID account.  It works in iTunes, but when I open up iCloud, my old ID shows and I can't access it to change anything.  Can't ask for email change for password

    I recently changed my email address and updated my Apple ID name to the new address.  It worked for iTunes and apps, but when I bring up iCloud, my old ID name shows.  I can'tr access it to change it since my security questions don't work and when I request an email to change password, it says it sent one but I do not receive anything.  Just need to klnow how to change my Applle ID on iCloud if I can't access the old one.  I'm afraid if I delete the account and open a new one, I'll lose all of my calendar. 

    If you have 'Find My iPad' activated on the iPad it will cause this problem. You will have to contact Support for help. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'More Products and Services', then 'Apple ID'.     It sounds like you have a new email address you would like to use to replace the email address you are currently using for your Apple ID, without losing any of the info you have in the account. You can update the email address with this article named:

    This explains how to change your ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621.  After changing your ID you will need to go to Settings>iCloud, delete the existing account (which only deletes it from your device, not from iCloud), then sign back in with the new ID.  To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll before deleting the existing account.
    If you are signed into your account on your Mac, you will need to go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.

    If the iCloud account ends with an @icloud.com, then that is something that you cannot change it. If that is not the case, then you will need to sign out and may need to change it back to the old Apple ID to do so.
