ICloud problem since IOS 6

Hi has anybody else had problems trying to back up to iCloud since updating to IOS6? Every time I turn on my phone from standby it keeps asking for my password details which I then input. This happens about 4 times then stops. I still cannot backup so I tried to log out and in but now cannot log into iCloud. iTunes Store and apps are working no problem so this is baffling? Any ideas?

Hallo Shadowrap411,

  • IPhone 4S 64GB - Problems since iOS 6.0 and now worse upon 6.1 attempt

    Hello,
It seems there are many who have been having trouble after updating to iOS 6.1.
My issue is similar, but has been going on and only gotten worse today.  I have an iPhone 4S (which is unfortunately out of AppleCare warranty) that has (ever since upgrading to iOS 6.0) been randomly shutting off, and native apps have been crashing.  This essentially renders the phone unusable as it is so frequent.  To resolve, I had tried restoring from backup (which updated the software to iOS 6.0.1), restoring from clean install without restoring from backup, and then ultimately taking it to Apple store A (I use the terms A & B to represent two apple stores which I brought the phone to, out of convenience to where I was located on each day) where they connected the phone and their computer wouldn't even recognize it in standard mode.  They then placed it into DFU mode and did a clean install with restore from backup which resulted in a recognizable piece of hardware.  They then told me the battery and harware all appeared to be functioning normally according to their diagnostics tests they ran on the computer.  They further stated it was definitely a software issue, and that there must have been some sort of error during the upgrade installation.  I left there hopeful and optimistic, and it continued to have the same problems not even 30 minutes later.  It then asked me to connect it to iTunes, so I had.  At that point the phone did another clean install and appeared to be stuck in the DFU restore loop.  I attempted to restore it on two different PC computers to no avail.  I wound up taking it to Apple store B, where they then plugged it in and did a clean restore in DFU mode, stating that all they had to do was plug it in to get it out of the DFU mode, completing the one cycle.  Again, they stated all diagnostics were clean and hardware was in perfect working order.  Again, I returned home, only to have problems resume in about 30 minutes.  The phone has been rather useless since for about the last week or so.
Today, I decided that since iOS 6.1 had been released, it couldn't hurt to give it a try and update the software, hoping my problems may have been answered in the form of a bug fix.  Well, regretably, it could and did get worse.  During the upgrade process to 6.1, I received the error "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored.  An unknown error occurred.  It continues to do this each and every time I attempt the restore, and returns the iphone screen to the connect to itunes view.  Throughout the many times I have attempted the restore, I have gotten the above error message with codes (9) and (26).  It is now stuck in the recovery mode.  I have tried the restore to 6.1 from 3 different computers, trying all USB ports on each.  I have Symantec NIS 2013 installed on all computers, which I tried updating and disabling to no avail.  After working on it for several hours, I am at a loss for what to do.  Any suggestions (aside from the fact that I need to get a Mac lol... as soon as I can afford the 15" MBPwR...) for what I can do or try?  As I mentioned earlier, the phone is out of AppleCare warranty... :-/
In advance, I greatly appreciate anyone's input.

Have almost identicle situation going, totally screws my day for I have appointments to keep and important calls to make...this *****

  • 4S connectivity to WiFi, and touch problems since IOS 8

I have an iPhone 4S. Since I downloaded IOS 8 and updates, I have been experiencing intermittent loss of connectivity to WiFi and a few instances of the screen freezing up on me. I've already had Apple support, where they helped me empty phone and reinstall the software, then subsequently all apps and items back onto phone. It worked for 2 days and then started with the same issues again. I then uninstalled the one app I had installed since iOS 8, hoping that was the problem. It was not.
I was told there is no going back to an older system. I have never had any problems with this phone until the new IOS 8 was added. Is there anyone else who has similar problems?

    Hi Damien,
      Thanks for your reply.
I had not created 2 separated wireless network. The airport extreme has had create wireless allowing it to be extended and the airport express has had it to extend since day 1.
The only device that does not connect to the airport express when it is far from the airport extreme here is the iPhone 4. I've tested 2 Windows based computers, 2 Macs, 1 Samsung TV and 1 Android phone and they all are able to connect to the airport express when the signal from the airport extreme is weak (please take a look on the screen shots on the original post).
The screenshots of the 2 devices' wireless set up can be found below:

I have seen other people here on the Apple discussions complaining about the same issue with their iPhone 4 and iPad: would it be a iOs problem?

  • In line remote problem since iOS 4 Upgrade

I like to use the in line remote on my ear buds. Before iOS 4 i was able to back out of the music or podcast i was listening to and then turn on just the audio through the in line remote. SO if i was watching a video podcast i could go out of it and into a game and then start up just the audio of the podcast.
Since iOS 4 this feature has been acting up. I will back out to the home page then hit the play button on the in line remote and the music or podcast that was playing before the last track i was listening to or even the one before that will play.
I have gown from a video podcast back to the main screen, hit the play button on the in line remote and the music i was listening to the night before will start to play. So i have to go back into audio. as soon as i back out of the song or podcast that was wrongly playing it goes right to what i was wanting to listen to. I can then go to the home page again and hit the play button and everything is fine.

  • Why do i have internet problems since ios 7 update? I have an ipad 4th gen.

Since ios 7 update my internet on my ipad 4 is very slow how can i fix this?

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
Try This - Renew IP Address:
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • IPod touch Battery Problems Since iOS 7 was installed last year.

Hello, I've had recurring battery problems with my iPod touch since the iOS 7 update was installed, and I find myself having to charge my iPod touch (5th Generation) a lot more frequently since I installed this update.
On iOS 6, I had never experienced any problems with the iPod touch's battery, as I was able to let the battery drain down completely, and let it charge for 4 hours (recommended). After the iPod touch was fully charged for 4 whole hours, I was able to unplug the lightning cable, and the iPod touch on its own would last a few days to at least a week or two weeks.
On iOS 7, since it saw its general release on the 18th September last year, I have found that the iPod's battery has drained so bad, that it dies too quickly, and when I put the iPod touch on charge, in almost an hour, the iPod touch tells me that it is 100% charged. However, when I take the iPod touch off its charge after it fully charges for that hour, it quickly drains down again.
I have gone through the standard procedure of restoring my iPod touch to its factory settings, and I have seen absolutely no improvement on the battery life whatsoever. I mainly back up whatever is on my iPod touch (I back up pictures, videos and also transfer updates that I have installed for certain apps onto iTunes), though I have seen how some people have backed up the data on their iPod's or iPhones, only they find their iDevice draining so quickly.
Even turning off certain features in the Settings app to improve the battery life doesn't help, as there is almost no difference that solves the problems I'm currently having with the iPod touch's battery.
I recently heard about the free iPhone battery replacement program which is now available, so I'm starting to worry whether I have to pay for a new replacement battery for my iPod touch.
Your help in this matter would be gratefully appreciated.
    Many kind regards,
    Alex Smithson

I mainly charge the iPod touch itself for four hours and it still doesn't make a difference. I've had my iPod touch for almost 2 years and since I installed iOS 7, it still doesn't make a difference.
I was wondering, if the article you have provided doesn't sort the problems with the battery out, is there another alternative??
Your help and advice is most appreciated.
    Many kind regards,

  • Office365 Calendar Request Problems Since iOS 7.1.2 Upgrade

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 7.1.2 (on my iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, and iPad Mini) when I create a meeting in the native calendar app using my Exchange Office 365 account and invite participants, the meeting request does not show up in the invited person's calendar (both on iOS and Android devices) and the email that is sent is received with an attachment that says unsupported ics format. This happens from the native calendar on all of my devices and only since the upgrade. Prior to the upgrade everything was working fine. If I create the meeting on my laptop there is no problem so it is not my Office365 account or a server issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem and what is the solution?

  • Problem since ios 8.3 update. Please help

Hello everyone I'm new to here but I need help. I have had an iPhone since the original 2g and have always been happy as they have always worked and done what I needed. I even upgraded to the iPhone 6 128gb but found myself using my old 5s 64gb more and more so sold the iPhone 6 and was perfectly happy using the 5s. Then I updated to iOS 8.3. The fault I'm having is that I can no longer make Bluetooth calls. my phone connects to any Bluetooth device and even will play music and is controllable using said Bluetooth devices but when I make a call it goes silent, if I then press the audio key and select either iPhone or speaker the call is there. I have tried different devices all have the same problem. I have tried my wife's phone and it works perfectly on the same devices. I carried out a iTunes restore and set up as a new device, and still it didn't work. So then made and appointed with the Genius Bar at my nearest Apple Store which is over an hours drive away so drove up yesterday and tried to explain my issue but I felt that although the guy was very nice and friendly wasnt really interested or understood what my fault was. So he then carried out a restore using one of there macs and that should be ok now and have a nice day. I asked what would be my recourse if this didn't fix my fault and was told I would just have to buy a new device and then was offered a new contract. I have since tried my phone and still is the same. I drive a lot for work and need the phone to connect to my car kit. Can anyone help or advise. I am really disappointed in Apple with this.

For others who have this same problem, before using deggie's solution, which is more drastic since it will force you to lose all pairings and wi-fi passwords, first try this: On the iPhone go to Settings>Bluetooth, then forget your JBL pairing. Then with the JBL Flip, turn it on by hitting the power button once, then put it into pairing mode by holding the power button down until it flashes red and blue alternately. You should see the pairing established on you iPhone. If the iPhone asks for a pairing code (it may not), it is 0000.

  • IPad problems since iOS 8 update

Since updating our 2 iPad 2's  to iOS 8.0.2 we have experienced a number of operating problems. After a while we loose the cellular network and have to reboot. They are sluggish and stutter when shifting from screen to screen, they freeze up, and generally operate like they have a virus or have run out of memory. I also now have unwanted and unasked for aps that magically appeared after the upgrade. Downloading of Aps should be my choice and not theirs...If Apple is going to provide updates it would be a good idea if they tested it on all the products they plan to push it out to. Seems like they missed the iPad 2. I would love to go back to when my iPad really worked....

    Hi ..
First, keep your iOS iPad software up todate.
Tap Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 8.1 update should be available.
When you post for help, just saying, "4th generation has not worked properly", doesn't give us much to go on for advice for troubleshooting.
    Please reply with specific details.

  • Reading List problems since iOS 8

I have been using reading list to read articles when there's no wi-fi available. The problem is, since I have upgraded to iOS 8, my articles just won't open, instead I get an error message saying: "the operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted.". I have checked, and they are downloaded, and I am experiencing the same issue on my iPhone too. Is anyone experiencing the same issue, or know how to solve it?

    Hi Kinger84,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the nature and scope of the issues you are describing. If you are having multiple issues after a recent update to iOS 8, you may want to first try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If you are still having issues after a reset, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPhone to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persist before restoring the apps or your data. You may find the following article helpful:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • Nothing but problems since iOS 7.0.3

I updated to 7.0.3 this week. (iPhone 4) Since then my Phone has been nothing but problems.
Every time I open an app, I get the 'Please Connect to iTunes to recieve push notifications.'  I have connected and it did nothing.
iMessage is flat out not working.  Anyone with an iPhone cannot send me messages even with iMessage turned off.  When I try to connect iMessage it times out and says 'Cannot Activate iMessage'.  I have tried in multiple wireless networks as well as with WiFi turned off.
    Nothing.
I have tried connecting the phone to the iOS diagnostics, with no sucess.
    Really frustrating.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

  • Problems since IOS update

I'm having a problem with email since I updated to the latest IOS for the iPhone. I have a 5 and since the update I am unable to "reply" to yahoo emails. It simply does not respond when I tap on it (does not bring up text box).
Also, I no longer have the voice for google map directions.
Are there fixes for these problems?

Start with the basics. You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.
