Hello everybody,

Blame Motorola (Google)

  • ICloud push notifications plus junk mail

Ever since I changed to iCloud email, my push notifications aren't alerting me of new incoming mail.  I have set it for sound option and nothing is working.
My "junk" mail also is saying I ahve junk mail when really it's not junk mail.  I've tried flitering and teaching what's junk and what's not but it too isn't working.
    Help..,anyone ?

    bump!
i have the same problem on my iphone 4S.
mails gets correctly put in the subfolder i assigned but i dont get any badge notification so hours may pass before i realize i have a new mail in my "very urgent stuff" subfolder! which is quite bad
would love to know if there's a workaround, it's a known issue or i should just disable the rules for a while and moving the mails manually.
notice the rules are applied on the icloud webmail app, but not on my desktop mac

    Hello,
since ICloud i don't get any push notifications to any Subfolder.
At the mail Webclient i defined some email rules. I get only push notifications at the inbox folder.
Has icloud no support for notifications to subfolder?

  • Forwarding Gmail to iCloud Mail - Push notifications

    Hello,
finally after many years with MacBook I'm on iPhone too. But few little inconveniences has to be solved so quick question:
If I forward my Gmail to my new iCloud mail would I finally get Push notifications for all my emails working properly?
I like the Apple way and all around but I have to keep my 10 years old Gmail account.
    Thanks

great, push notifications doesn't work for iCloud mail now either so...great:D

  • Push notifications do not work for iCloud calendar

    Hi,
I have an iCloud account registered with my Gmail address. Whenever I receive a calendar invite, I do not get a push notification on my iphone or ipad (push notifications for calendar.app are turned on).
The same goes for updates of calendar invites. They just show up in my e-mail, but are not automatically updated.
Calendar is enabled in my iCloud account, and disabled for my Gmail account (if I turn it on in Gmail, I do get a push notification).
    I've set invite's on iCloud.com to in-app notifications.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this and enable push notifications for the calendar invites i receive?
    Thanks in advance

This is because invitations sent to your iCloud account ([email protected]) are actually going to your GMail account ([email protected]). Sort of a catch 22 with having an iCloud account that doesn't utilize an @icloud address.

  • Push Notifications(other than iCloud or mail app) sporadic

My push notifications(for apps other than mail) are sporadic at best. The biggest issue is with my IM apps. For a while I thought it was IM+ as the problem, but then i tried imo which has the same problem. FB and twitter notifications are now not coming in. This was not an issue prior to iOS 5.
Anyone having similar experience or have a solution?

    Quit Mail.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. If you get a warning that the file is in use when you try to empty the Trash, log out and log back in.

  • Connect to iTunes to use push notifications

After several years of completely trouble free use of my ipad 3, things messed up today. It lost my network connection even though the wifi was working fine. My mail wasn't loading correctly when the network was connected so I rebooted the iPad. After the reboot all of my e-mail passwords were gone and my Facebook password was gone. I re-entered all of the passwords and things are working ok, but I'm getting strange messages.  I get this Connect to iTunes to use push notifications message on almost every app that I open. Also half of my magazine subscriptions get an endless loop of this message and I have to shut down the iPad to get them to go away. All I can say is ***? Any advice? I image ill have to reset and start over. It's weird that this happened completely out of the blue. Never had any problems at all with the iPad.

I reset it and restored from an iCloud backup. Everything is back to normal

  • IOS 7.0.3 upgrade killed Facetime, iMessage and Push Notifications

Facetime, iMessage and Push Notifications were working fine on my iPhone 4.
Since I upgraded to iOS 7.0.3 Facetime and iMessages cannot be activated because of 'Network error' and every app that supports 'Push Notifications' suggest to 'Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications' at start.
Already tried to 'Reset as new phone' and restore from iCloud without any luck.
    Suggestions ?

Ever since I got the 7.0.3 update on my iPhone 4 I get the "iMessage Activation: Could not sign in. Please check your network conection and try again". I can access icloud stuff using my apple ID fine elsewhere. I received iMessages on my laptop through the Messages app but anyone else who uses Messages has their iMessage sent to my laptop and not to my phone. I used to get the messages both at the same time.
I've tried removed the locate iphone app, reset the network settings, rebooted the phone, reconnected to my wifi and synched with iTunes. Nothing has worked.
I'm getting ready to restore the phone now in hopes that doing that works. Never had a problem with updates till now and while this is annoying at least my data is intact!

  • Problems with iPod Touch- YouTube and Push Notifications

After installing iOS4 on my 64gb iPod Touch I've noticed I cannot view YouTube videos and push notifications do not work.
The YouTube app launches, however if I try to search or play a video a pop up will read "Cannot connect to YouTube". If I go to YouTube's newly redesigned mobile site they work fine.
Although all my settings are the same as they have ever been, push notifications do not work. When launching any app with push notification support it always states "Connect to iTunes to use push notifications". I've done this, but nothing works.
For the record, I've never jailbroken or in any other way altered my device. I've tried performing a hard reset with no success, as well as letting the battery drain completely and shutting off before recharging.
    Thanks for any help.

Downgrading is not supported by Apple.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

This isn't an issue. Notice the screen prior to the one that shows usage has an iCloud section and a Manage Storage button. For this button to activate ios needs to download a few kb from icloud. Switching back to this screen forces ios to download those few kb.

  • Push notifications WhatsApp not work.

Push notifications WhatsApp not work. I only receive them when I open the app. I've checked the settings on iOs and Whatsapp and all is ok. I've also updated to the latest versions. Can you help me?

I actually did, and here is the answer I received:
"When you are sent a message in WhatsApp, but are not online to receive it, WhatsApp will automatically send your message to the Apple Push Notification Service (APNS). This allows an alert containing the message to be displayed, even when WhatsApp is closed or your phone's display is off. Most often, all that is needed to resolve notification issues is to ensure that all notification settings are enabled. Review these FAQ pages for troubleshooting steps:
    Notifications Troubleshooting
    Connection Troubleshooting
Sending your message to APNS typically takes only a few milliseconds. Once your message is sent to APNS, any delays or failure to deliver the message as a push notification to your device are usually caused by issues with your phone or network connection. Currently, all of our systems are operating normally.
If you are using iOS 7, and are confident that you have all push notification settings enabled in WhatsApp and the iPhone Notification Center, then there is likely an issue with your phone that WhatsApp cannot resolve for you. In this case, I recommend the following steps:
Backup your entire phone to iCloud.
After the backup is complete, Erase all content and settings.
Continue setting up your phone as a new device (do not restore from the iCloud backup).
Install WhatsApp and verify that push notifications are working correctly (have someone send you a few test messages while your phone's display is turned off).
Erase all content and settings and restore from the iCloud backup. "
I tried to delete everything from my iPhone and then restore my data with the backup on my computer but it did not change anything, I still can't receive any notification, unless I open the application... However, I restored immediatly my backup cause I was afraid it wouldn't work after, but I don't really think it would change something to first start as a new device and then erase all content again and restore it.

  • Push Notifications rarely/never work.

I have tried nearly everything to get push notifications working but can't get them to work, everything is turned on for notifications. The weird thing is if I go to my friends house for a few hours and them come back and connect to my wifi push notifications will work for a little while then continue to work. I am on iOS5 and have been through several filmwares and no push notifications have worked.

  • IOS 7.0.3 issues-iMessage, FaceTime, Push Notifications not working

I recently upgraded to iOS 7.0.3. Now I cannot sign in to FaceTime or iMessage, and Push Notifications don't work—instead, I receive a message saying "Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications." I've connected to and synced with iTunes. It didn't work. I've tried multiple WiFi networks. Doesn't work. I cannot back up and restore on my computer, and would rather not restore with iCloud, if at all possible. Please help!

I had the same exact problem with my iPhone 4. I fixed it by putting my phone in restore mode and then kicking it back out of it. I mention 2 ways. The 1st one is something I think should work because it is based around the same concept. The 2nd method is what I used and is a bit more risky but thats the one I used.
1st method (can't confirm that this works but it just might)
The hard reboot. this is done by holding the HOME and POWER button at the same time until the screen goes blank. Then turn it on again using just the POWER button. This will take a while to turn on so don't panic just have some patience.
2nd method (the one I used)
This is how to do it.
BACK UP before attempting this. The restore mode I used is a kind of a bootable mode which is reversable (not sure if it works on other phone, so IPHONE 4 PEOPLE ONLY).
Turn the phone off the normal way. After it is turned off, hold the HOME button and connect the USB. Continue holding the HOME button until connect to itunes logo on the phone shows up and itunes will pop up saying "a device in restore mode..".
Dissconnect the USB. Now hold the POWER button until the phone turns off (it will after 10 seconds or so). Now turn it on again using the POWER button. It might take a while to turn on(don't panic, have patience). With any luck all the notifications should work and you should be able to sign in into imessage and facetime.

So that it about 8 per second, or almost 30,000 per hour.
So I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop this. It's a problem on port 5223, so it must be from one of these software: iCloud DAV Services (Contacts, Calenders, Bookmarks), APNS, Facetime, Game Centre, Photo stream, Back to my mac.
However, I have already turned off the iCloud services, and I am not using Facetime or Game Centre.
Also, I have already tried the advice on this blog (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789#), but that didn't work either.
    Thanks.

Holding Shift while you click selected everything between two mouse clicks.
Using Ctrl you can fine turn what is selected by clicking on thing to unselect them
    Got the idea?
