ICloud push notifications plus junk mail

Ever since I changed to iCloud email, my push notifications aren't alerting me of new incoming mail.  I have set it for sound option and nothing is working.
My "junk" mail also is saying I ahve junk mail when really it's not junk mail.  I've tried flitering and teaching what's junk and what's not but it too isn't working.
Help..,anyone ?

bump!
i have the same problem on my iphone 4S.
mails gets correctly put in the subfolder i assigned but i dont get any badge notification so hours may pass before i realize i have a new mail in my "very urgent stuff" subfolder! which is quite bad
would love to know if there's a workaround, it's a known issue or i should just disable the rules for a while and moving the mails manually.
notice the rules are applied on the icloud webmail app, but not on my desktop mac

    hello
The problem appeared two days ago is that I can't open my mail app. everything was fine and functional. Now I double click on the icon and it does not respond. it receives mail and I can see push notifications on the mail icon but when  I try to open it is no use. OS Y 10.10.2 (14C1514)

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Restart the computer. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. Any custom stationery that you created may be lost. Ask for instructions if you want to preserve that data. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Trouble Using Push Addressing with Junk Mail

I would like to push mail receiving a tag2 ("* JUNK MAIL *") to a user's mailbox called "Spam" rather than having it go to the user's inbox.
I have tried to use "push addressing" to achieve this; however, I am having trouble.
I think the trouble I am having relates to the fact that all of our mail uses postfix style aliases. The postfix push system doesn't seem to want to handle postfix style aliases.
For example, as a test ...
if I send to [email protected]
... the mail gets correctly pushed to the Spam mailbox (joelmcintosh is my user name)
if I send to [email protected]
... the mail goes to my inbox (jmcintosh is an alias).
Any ideas how I might go about solving this?
Below is some added background about my setup that may (or may not be of value):
    (1) I have set the "Spam" mailbox to receive posting from "anyone" using SirAdmin (i.e., I've added an ACL of "p" for anyone).
    (2) The main.cf file included this:
    ------CUT -------
    # ADDRESS EXTENSIONS (e.g., user+foo)
    # The recipient_delimiter parameter specifies the separator between
    # user names and address extensions (user+foo). See canonical(5),
    # local(8), relocated(5) and virtual(5) for the effects this has on
    # aliases, canonical, virtual, relocated and .forward file lookups.
    # Basically, the software tries user+foo and .forward+foo before
    # trying user and .forward.
    recipient_delimiter = +
    ------CUT -------
    (3) The amavisd.conf file included this:
    ------CUT -------
    # If passing malware to certain recipients ($final*_destiny=DPASS or
    # *_lovers), the recipient-based lookup tables @addrextension_*maps may
    # return a string, which (if nonempty) will be added as an address extension
    # to the local-part of the recipient's address. This extension may be used
    # by the final local delivery agent (LDA) to place such mail into different
    # subfolders (the extension is usually interpreted as a folder name).
    # This is sometimes known as the 'plus addressing'. Appending address
    # extensions is prevented when:
    # - recipient does not match lookup tables @localdomainsmaps;
    # - lookup into corresponding @addrextension_*maps results
    # in an empty string or undef;
    # - $recipient_delimiter is empty (see below)
    # LDAs usually default to stripping away address extension if no special
    # handling is specified or if a named subfolder or alias does not exist,
    # so adding address extensions normally does no harm.
    # @addrextension_virusmaps = ('virus'); # defaults to empty
    @addrextension_spammaps = ('Spam'); # defaults to empty
    # @addrextension_bannedmaps = ('banned'); # defaults to empty
    # @addrextension_bad_headermaps = ('badh'); # defaults to empty
    # A more complex example:
    # @addrextension_virusmaps = (
    # {'sub.example.com'=>'infected', '.example.com'=>'filtered'}, 'virus' );
    # Delimiter between local part of the envelope recipient address and address
    # extension (which can optionally be added, see @addrextension_*maps. E.g.
    # recipient address <[email protected]> is changed to <[email protected]>.
    # Delimiter must match the equivalent (final) MTA delimiter setting.
    # (e.g. for Postfix add 'recipient_delimiter = +' to main.cf)
    # Setting it to an empty string or to undef disables adding extensions
    # regardless of $addrextension_*maps.
    $recipient_delimiter = '+'; # (default is undef, i.e. disabled)
    # true: replace extension; false: append extension
    # $replaceexistingextension = 1; # (default is true)
    # Affects matching of localpart of e-mail addresses (left of '@')
    # in lookups: true = case sensitive, false = case insensitive
    $localpartis_casesensitive = 0; # (default is false)

I'm using Acrobat XI Pro. I don't have Reader installed on my laptop. The form is for a client who sends it out to patients to fill out, so I need it work with both mail clients and web mail. Is there a way to do that? I don't think changing that preference in my Acrobat will solve the problem, as that will just effect my Acrobat. Is there a setting I can apply to the actual document? Thank you for your response!

  • Mail marks iCal email notifications as junk mail

I suppose this could be an iCal problem or a Mail problem, but email notifications that come from iCal are marked as junk mail every time. Yes, I have "Sender of message is in my Address Book" checked off in Mail preferences, and my address is listed in Address Book. If I send an email from me to me via Mail it is not marked as junk, but from iCal it is always marked as junk. I found posts about this going back many years, surely there would be a resolution by now?

    Hey there,
I had the same issue and was able to find the answer in another discussion.
You just need to highlight the card in Address Book and then choose "Make This My Card" in the "Card" menu.
    Best,
    Tom

  • Double push notifications for e-mails sent to self

Since iOS 8 I am getting double e-mail notifications for e-mails which I sent to myself. I also know the cause of this problem:
It happens with all Exchange-accounts, so I went to verify the Push settings for these accounts. There, both Inbox and Sent are checked. Inbox cannot be unchecked, but Sent can be unchecked. However, this unchecking isn't being saved by iOS. When returing to verify this Push setting, the checkmark for Sent has re-appeared.
Anyone else with this problem? I have it both on an iPhone 6 and iPad 3 Retina.

Just once.  I think it has to do with gmail receiving a notification to my inbox and the all-mail folder in gmail; but I can't figure out how to set up so it only advise a new email once.  I'm using the native email application on my ipad and iphone.

  • Email Notifications goto Junk Mail

Does anyone have a solution for stopping C4T email notifications from going to junk email?
It happens randomly to people that were fine before.
I also don't understand why a successful approval goes to junk but a successful audit goes to inbox on the same report.
    Any thoughts would be great.

    Hi Britt,
unfortunately there is no general solution for your issue:
If you're relying on the junk filtering of Microsoft Outlook, maybe the information given by Microsoft can help you: Overview of the Junk Email Filter - Outlook . Users can do the necessary changes by themselves, but I guess a configuration can also be provided centrally by your IT department.
If you are using an anti spam tool for your company like Eleven's eXpurgate, then you have to contact that tool's provider to adjust the criteria for categorizing e-mails as spam.
    Best Regards,
    Andreas

  • Push notifications disappear from Yahoo Mail

I upgraded to IOS 4 a while back (still waiting to do 4.0.1, seems like some have real signal issues). After a while, I stopped getting push notifications from Yahoo mail.
I confirmed all the settings were correct, everything is set to push. I also have an IMAP account which is not push, but it was living happily along side my yahoo mail account.
I tried changing all settings to fetch, then back to push, and it still doesn't work. I tried rebooting the phone, that didn't work. A few days ago I deleted the yahoo mail account, and re-added it. Yay, I got push notifications back! But today, they're gone again
One event that may be to blame is that I plugged it into an older JBL speaker/dock that the iphone says is not compatible (but happily works fine with). Do you think this can cause Yahoo mail push notifications to get screwed up? I hate to have to delete and re-add my yahoo mail account every few days. I'm going to test to see if the dock is the culprit tonight, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has these problems?
    -Steve

I just got an iphone 3GS three weeks ago, and found out that I could receive my yahoo e-mails in real time thru my device via push option. Per recommendations of other blogs I deleted my account, changed my password and re-added it again in my iphone but no e-mails in real time yet!! I had the soft version 4.0.1, and now have the 4.0.2 version but remains the same, no e-mails reception in real time. Any help will be more than welcome. Cheers!

  • Push Notifications for Citrix Worx Mail??????

We are currently using iOS 8.1.2 on all products.
We are also using Citrix Worx Mail 10.0.0 Build 110.
Push notifications for Worx Mail are not occurring after 5 min of inactivity on the phone.
We are using the application to notify managers of operational events that are occurring and need operators to respond.
It is critical that these notifications alert the managers.
What can we do to ensure that the devices respond to push notifications in a timely manner.

We also use Worx Mail and have the same issue.  However I know why this is happening.  Worx Mail uses Push for the calender,  but for Mail it relies on BAR in IOS (Background App Refresh ) This was due to complaints of battery life on earlier versions of Worx Mail.  I personally can't stand it.  So the only thing you can do is BE SURE your users have BAR turned on for Worx Mail in settings.

  • Junk Mail filters

I have been having a problem with the Junk mail filters in Mail. When I send myself an e-mail, such as when an iCal event reminder is in the form of an e-mail, the message gets pushed into my junk mail folder. Every time it has happened, I click on the "Not Junk" button, but the next time I send one, it goes into the Junk folder again. This happened with OS 10.4, and I thought the upgrade to 10.5 would fix it, but it's still happening.
Has anyone else had this experience? If so, did you find a solution to the problem?
    Thanks
    Kevin

if so, I'd love to hear it as well. I made a big effort to convert my old email life from my pc to the new mac, and figured imail would serve me. Small as it is, this unreliable junk filter may force me to switch again. I hate that.

  • Has anyone successfully configured push notification services?

I have been struggling with this since mid December and still have not figured out how to configure or even debug push notificaiton services. I am running a Mac Mini Lion Server and have read every thread, article, snippet and breadcrumb on these discussion forums and elsewhere. I have been through jabberd/twisted/SSL/config in fine grained detail.
So my question is simply - is there anyone out there that has 10.7.3 and Push Notifications configured for mail/Calendar Server/iChat working? Did it just work out of the box for you by checking the box and requesting a cert? Did you have to go through a detailed debugging exercise and if so, what are the key components in this spaghetti that is the Lion APNS gateway?
I am happy to start posting logs and working with some contributors on this, but I would like to know that it is even possible before investing the time.
HELLLLLLLP! Please tell me there is light at the end of this tunnel!
    Corey

Off of the top of my head the only push notification setting I am aware of in Lion Server is in Profile Manager and this only applies to Profile Manager services.  Caldav and carddav have been updating fine for me whether I have Profile Manager on or off.

  • No push notifications in iOS 7.1

Hi, I have a problem with my push notifications since I updated to iOS 7.1. I do get push notifications from my Mail app, but Whatsapp and Facebook fail to do this. Quite annoying... Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm seeing similar issues, although only for certain apps - for some apps, push notifications are still working after updating to iOS 7.1, but for other apps the push notifications have stopped working. And the settings in the Notifications centre are the same as before the update when notifications were working.
