ICloud restore help!

I recently had to remove Pages from my iPad and add it back on. Before I deleted the app, I saved all my work to my iCloud on my iPad. It shows in iCloud I have the data there. How do I restore it to my Pages App so I can see the documents again? Everything in restore talks about restoring to a new device....what about restoring to the original device? Thanks!

You should see your files automatically. If not, go to Settings > Pages and check if you've turned on iCloud on Pages

If you are the original owner of the phone and know the Apple ID and password that were used to activate it originally, and if you have an existing backup to restore from, you can force it into recovery mode (which will completely erase it) and restore it as explained here: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.  When you do you will encounter activation lock, and will have to provide the ID and password used to activate it originally in order to activate it again.  If you can't, you won't be able to activate and use it.

  • How can i get my icloud restored back to a previous date

Does anyone know how I can get my icloud restored back to a week ago?  My two separate apple iPhones had their iCloud accounts merged and I got my personal accounts and work accounts merged.  When trying to split them back up again, I deleted all my contacts on icloud and now I can't get them back.  can i get my icloud restored?  I restored my phone, but that didn't work.  Thanks for your help.

A partition is just a section of the disk set aside for a particular purpose. In this case, we're talking about a Mac partition and a Windows partition. They have different formats, which is how the data is stored. The disks that came with your Mac will create the Mac partition when you install, but most likely you'll lose the Windows partition. You've got kind of a mess at this point. What you should do is install the Mac OS and get everything as you want it. Then run Bootcamp to create a Windows partition and let Bootcamp do the Windows installation for you. Grant gave you good advice earlier. Don't let Windows do any partitioning. That's how you got into this mess.

  • Photos not appearing after iCloud restore

My previous iPad 2 was fully backed up on iCloud.  It failed and was replaced by Apple for a new one. I did an iCloud restore, which seemed like no problem, and no pictures showing up on new iPad. Message that it was downloading X # of photos, but nothing. Tried a restore on another spare iPod, and this time, no photos and no message about the # of photos. Repeated both 2 or 3 times. Same thing as before on each one. Any ideas?

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC
    Hope this helps.

  • ICloud restoring outdated apps

I have a bit of a problem here. I have a few apps that won't install from the app store with an iCloud restore because they are no longer in the app store. I didn't know iCloud restored apps fresh from online. So.. I synced the apps from iTunes after I got the error that iCloud restore wasn't complete because of this and now I guess iCloud won't restore the app data I uploaded for those apps. Is there anyway to get that data back?

Ok... I've had iOS 5 since release and everything was fine. Some reason I got the boot screen and wouldn't go away so I had to restore. I did a complete fresh restore in DFU mode to get a clean install. Every app I had on my phone last night was synced to iCloud before this happened. Now... when I restored in iTunes I used the welcome app ON the phone and restored from iCloud backup. Because the REMOVED apps were not in the app store anymore it would not load that app data and it won't let you sync your phone on iTunes via the computer because that is how iCloud works. So after the incomplete iCloud restore finished. I synced my apps and music with iTunes and now I have ALL my apps back on my phone. But since you have to restore from iCloud backup right when the phone is restored then I am not able to sync the apps before I restore from backup.
Because of all this I can't get my app data which is important for those REMOVED apps. This is a issue with iCloud with what I'm seeing. Apple needs to make a check box or something to not download your apps from the app store.
Not sure if I can be anymore clearer than this. Hopefully this helps.

  • Icloud restore, deleted account, stupid iphone

    Hi,
    Please can someone help me!!!!!
I cracked the screen on my iphone 5 and sent it in to be repaired. Before repairing it I made sure I had backed up on icloud. Then updated the software to whatever was the latest ios7. This is where it gets complicated...
First I rely on icloud and photo stream because my laptop was mistaken for a trampoline by my toddler so I don't have access to iTunes on desktop.
Half way through the update I was told by my phone to connect to iTunes, so I used my exes laptop to access iTunes. Still didn't work so I went through find my iphone and deleted everything from my phone.
Now my phone came back and wouldn't you know it all my photos and everything are lost in cyber Bermuda triangle. I have checked my exes laptop but only shows his last update and nothing to do with mine. Neither his iTunes or my phone has sync turned on by the way.
Now I tried to contact apple via telephone appointment and as I picked the phone up, that was in full working order, the earpiece wont work. I didn't realise it at the time but now I can only use speaker phone to hold a conversation. Have lost all my photos, videos and anything I wanted to keep. Can someone please help me as its not fun wondering who has my stuff and where it is.

    Hi nicola1202,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
If you performed a backup to iCloud before sending the iPhone in for repair, that backup should still be available to restore from. Please read over the following article and perform the steps to make sure the backup is there and then restore from it. You will need to be signed into the same Apple ID for iCloud under Settings > iCloud that initially made the backup to see the most recent backup.
iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud
    https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521
    Restore from an iCloud backup
On your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If a newer version of iOS is available, follow the onscreen instructions to download and install it.You must update your device to the latest version of iOS to make sure you can restore from a recent backup of another device, such as a lost or broken device.
Make sure you have a recent backup to restore from.Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, then look at the bottom of the screen for the message Last Backup, followed by the date of the latest backup. For information about backing up manually now, see Back up your iOS device to iCloud. If you don’t see a backup you expected to be there, see the Apple Support article iCloud: Troubleshooting restoring an iCloud backup.
Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap “Erase all content and settings.”
In the Setup Assistant, proceed to “Set up your device,” tap Restore from a Backup, then sign in to iCloud.
Proceed to “Choose backup,” then choose from a list of available backups in iCloud.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • ICloud Restore Blocking Photos Update

Long story short, my Photos app won't download new photos, and although it uploads photos, it will still say that is has to upload them. But my computer does download them so I'm sure they are getting uploaded. In an attempt to fix the problem I turned iCloud Photo Library off, then back on. At which time I get a popup message saying "iCloud Restore in Progress" and explaining that it will begin syncing when the phone has finished restoring, but... it's not restoring... or if it is, it won't say that it is. I manually told it to backup, which didn't fix the problem.
To be clear, this has only been going on for the past few months, before that it worked fine.
Any thoughts? Any additional information that could be helpful? I'm running the latest version of iOS and using an iPhone 6 Plus.

Well, I'm not sure exactly where the problem got fixed, but... closing the Photos App, turning iCloud Photo Library off, manually instructing it to do an iCloud Backup, restarting the phone, turning iCloud Photo Library on, reopening the Photos app, letting the phone sit, plugged in, for a while (about 2 hours), then coming back and checking it... it was all good and updated. Taking a photo successfully synced it and showed the proper status.
Somewhere in there my problem got fixed, not sure where.

  • ICloud restore on new Iphone 4s (iOS8) NOT WORKING

My mother in law has an Iphone 4s and got a brand new one (4s)
She also use an iPad3, both phone and ipad are sync to icloud (contacts, photos, etc not mail) and have the latest version of iOS 8
I opened the new Iphone 4s (comes with iOS8)  but first had to do an update to the latest version in order to do the icloud restore.
I selected the latest icloud backup (ipad) and it transfered all the settings and apps BUT not the most important things: CONTACTS and CALENDAR.
What is going on? and how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    A

    Hello Agosto Mortal,
I understand that you are not seeing the contacts and calendars on a iPhone 4s. I would first take a look in Settings > iCloud and make sure that those options are turned on. Take a look at the article below for more troubleshooting options.

  • Icloud restore on same ios7 device

HI, this may sound crazy but does anyone on here do regular icloud restore's on there ios7 devices?
I Have done it a couple of times on my iPad Air and iphone 5 to freshen it up but keep all my settings, apps, photos etc.
i notice it's a good way to get rid of some app cache and data etc. it actually speeds up both devices too
just wondering if it's safe to do so every once in a while as long as I do a recent icloud backup?
plus I have very speedy internet so only takes about 15 mins to do a restore
    many thanks for your help

It certainly doesn't hurt anything, and as you said, will clean up unnecessary cache files that will free up memory and may speed things up (although I haven't noticed any speed increase).  If you do this, you might want to back up to your computer using iTunes instead.  Restoring an iTunes backup can be much faster than restoring an iCloud backup as there is nothing to download.  To do this, connect your device to your computer, open iTunes, then go to File>Devices>Back Up and File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

  • ICloud Restore - Firewall Destination Networks Needed

    Good afternoon,
We are attempting to implement firewall ACL's on our corporate firewalls to enable users to perform iOS iCloud restores from our guest wireless network.  I found the document on Apple's website for firewall ports and protocols, however I am unable to locate anything regarding what destination networks, IP ranges, or netblocks are utilized by the iCloud backup/restore cloud service.  Can anyone help me locate these details?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

No, it does not give me the option of what to save, at least not on the iCloud backup screen. I can't have it back up right now anyway because it won't connect to the wireless network (the main reason I want this fixed...) My OP says that I am using a PC (Windows 7, iTunes 12.0.1.26).
I have limited cellular data and rely heavily on wifi hotspots. We also live in a very rural area and do not have DSL or comparible high-speed internet at home where I can make all these changes on my own time.

  • Itunes restore deleted icloud restore

    Hi,
I'm facing a bit of a problem here.
I had two separate backups, each containing different data, one using itunes and one using icloud.
Once I had my new iphone I restored using icloud first, faced no problem there. I then restored using itunes, you know to get the other data. this deleted the data from the first icloud restore.
I beleive I did this they wrong way, any way I can fix it?
Any way I can get the data from the icloud back again?
help would be very much appreciated!

Next time do backups on both (iCloud and iTunes) so that the data is the same.
Or not ... sometimes it is preferable to have a different backup in case something goes awry.  I do my daily backups through iTunes, but once a month (or more frequently) I will do an iCloud backup which can not only serve to rescue me if I need to restore while away from home, it can also get me back to a known state in case a corrupted state gets into my daily backup.

  • ICloud restore Apps download while in waiting mode then disappear after

    Hi All,
When I restore my iPhone 4 from the iCloud backup, I get prompted to key in a new passcode for the phone, Facetime password, iMessage password, and my email passwords but I do not get prompted for my AppStore password.
My apps stay in "Waiting..." mode and they start downloading at that state. The moment the download completes, all the waiting apps turn white and flash (disappear and appear) and the downloaded app disappears forever (icons have shifted as if they app was deleted).
I have tried this about 7 times already and at every single attempt, I was not prompted for my AppStore password (I'm guessing the restored apps do not get authenticated/verified so they just get dumped after download).
I then tried a few more restores and thought of ways that would "interrupt" this instant download of apps (in Waiting... state). I tried shutting the phone off after I keyed in all my passwords (I have about 5 email accounts). Upon starting back up the phone, it will go on with the automatic download without asking me for my AppStore password.
I decided to try to interrupt the sequence further (in another restore attempt) but continously tapping on an application in the Waiting... state (similar to how you would pause/unpause a new app download/update). This eventually caused the AppStore login prompt. After which, one of the apps now hit Loading... state and downloading it completely will install it. All the relevant data is restored.
Now the issue is that despite being able to do this, I still lose 1 or 2 apps (one before I shutdown and before I can hammer an app enough to make it pop up the AppStore login screen). Is there some sort of delay issue with regards to the iCloud restore process? Is it possible to get the phone to prompt me for my AppStore password immediately after a restore?
I'm not sure if this is due to my iCloud backup being corrupted (upon initial restore the phone reboots and does the loading graphics and then to the apple then get stuck in the spinning icon for a while). I dont know how much more I can describe what I'm experiencing but I will gladly provide more information.

    OK...
Here's what I did to get around this problem, a slight modification of a fix for another issue...
All you need to do is Settings->General->International->Languages–>Change to British English
This will cause the Springboard to soft reset and the stuck apps will automatically resume and download themselves! Or not, in which case you can follow the steps below.
Now (very important) after perfomimng step one again, quickly go to the app that you are stuck on, move it out of its folder if necessary, to get at it more easily. Press and hold to bring up the 'x' then tap to delete. Note: You will only have few seconds, maybe 2 or 3 before the springboard finishes its refresh and the resume download kicks back in on the stuck app. Once it gets to resume restore mode, you will be unable to delete the stuck app. The rest of your apps should continue to download normally now, once the offending app is deleted. You can easily re-download that app later, once the others have finished restoring.
You can now change the language back to US English or whatever (I'm going to leave mine in the Queens English)
    Cheers! Hope this helps someone.
