Icloud safari

So I'm downloading Mountain Lion
trying to figure all the new bits!
Seems like one is you can see the tabs in Safari on my iPad.
So icloud is set up on both devices, I open Safari on my iMac and my iPad.
Open a few pages on my iPad, and look on my iMac for the iCloud sync.
The cloud appears and says "iCloud automatically...blar, blar"
However, none of the tabs show?
So what is the given?
Is there a secret password, or is it a Facebook, will add later feature and only in the dev version?
Can someone tell me how that works?
Thanks

iCloud sync requires iOS 6, so wait for the release

  • I can't reset my iCloud Safari Bookmarks on my iPhone

No matter what I do, settings/icloud/turn on safari + delete/keep data,  I cannot reset my bookmarks.
I've got these two folders, that won't go away.
    Bookmark Bar
    Bookmark Menu
If I turn on iCloud safari, they'll just appear back on my iPhone.
Is there a way to reset iCloud?
All I have is an iPhone 4. No other iDevices.

The Bookmarks Bar and Bookmark Menu are part of the Safari interface and cannot be deleted.
You can reset bookmarks by tapping Settings > ICloud
Switch Safari off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync your bookmarks.

  • How to remove an AppleStore's loaned iPhone from my iCloud Safari Tabs?

I'm have a problem of a loaned iPhone still showing up in my iCloud Safari Tabs and would like to remove it.
I was issued a loaner while my iPhone was sent in for repairs, and upon returning it, I wasn't signed out of iCloud before the store clerk proceeded to erase all the settings and data on the phone.
Now, upon looking through my safari's iCloud tabs, I am stuck with the loaner phone's last tab sessions.
I've tried to remove the phone from my iCloud account, however it is not showing up. I've tried merging all iCloud data and that did not clear it out.
I can't imagine I'm the first to experience this and would hope Apple has a means in place to handle this, I just don't know where.
    Any help is appreciated!

As stated in the last paragraph of this article, they will automatically be removed after 14 days: Set up and use iCloud Tabs.

  • ICloud Safari Tabs

I use both an iPad4 and an iPad Mini retina. When I check my iCloud Safari Tabs on my iPhone or my MBP, however, I get only tabs from one of the two iPads, generally the ones from the device I used more recently. Is that an intended behavior or some kind of a bug? I can't see why iCloud can't keep Safari Tabs from two dfferent iPads.
    Thanks.

None of those things helped. When I started the 'troubleshooting' I could see on my Mac the Tabs of the iPhone and of the iPad4, not of the Mini. On the iPad4, I could see the Tabs of the Mac and of the iPhone, again not of the Mini. On the iPhone, I could see the Tabs of the Mac and of the iPad4, and again not of the Mini. On the Mini, I could see the Tabs of the Mac and of the iPhone, but not of the iPad4.
OK, now I turn off Safari in the iCloud Settings of my Mini. Guess what happens? On both my Mac and my iPhone the Tabs of the iPad4 disappear!!!! Of the iPad4, which still has Safari on in its iCloud Settings. Indeed, I can still see the Tabs of both Mac and iPhone4 on my iPad4 Safari.
Then I turn on again Safari in the iCloud Settings of my Mini. Guess what happens now? I now see from my Mac and my iPhone the Tabs on the Mini, but the Tabs on the iPad4 are still no longer visible.
I think iCloud is either set up in a way that a single user can't have Safari Tabs from two different iPads, or in my particular case, for some weird reason, iCloud can't distinguish between the two devices and only detects one at a time.

  • ICloud Safari History not syncing across my devices with Yosemite and iOS 8

I have a MacBook Pro with the latest update of Yosemite installed, an iPad 2 with iOS 8.1.1, an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.1 and other things seem to be syncing like my bookmarks, reading list, and all other iCloud data as well as iMessages and text messages. But the one thing that does not seem to be syncing is my browsing history in Safari. This is supposed to be a new feature of Yosemite and iOS 8 and it is working for a friend of mine but not me.
How can I fix this? I've tried going into iCloud settings on all three devices and turning off Safari sync and then turning it back on but no luck.

I spoke with Apple support again this weekend. The first support specialist told me that Safari browsing history was not a feature at this time. When I sent a screenshot of the notes of what updated in Safari 8.0.2 on December 11, 2014 from the AppStore, I got transferred to a senior support specialist. They had me try things like log out of icloud and then reset my network settings on my devices. But that unfortunately did not work. My next step which I did not have time to do, is to see if it is my iCloud account by creating a new iCloud account, logging out of iCloud and then resetting my network settings and then logging into iCloud with the new iCloud account and see if Safari history syncs.
I'm not sure what they will do for me if it is my iCloud account because I have so much on that account and have email addresses that I don't want to lose. And if it isn't the iCloud account they said it is probably my devices but I am not sure what they will have me do to try to fix it if it is. Set them up as new? I don't really want to do that, it takes forever to get everything back on the device.

  • How do I manually log device out of iCloud/Safari?

I had an iPhone 5 and bought an iPhone 6 -
I set up my iPhone 6 as a brand-new device and then I logged out of iCloud on my iPhone 5 and then erased and reset all settings..
But in Safari on all my devices I can still see my current Safari position from the iPhone 5.. I no longer need this..
Even in iCloud.com I can see that the iPhone 5 is still there in 'devices' but no way to delete it..
How can I remove the iPhone 5? I want to sell it.
    -Frank

If you mean you can still see the iCloud tabs for your iPhone 5, you can't do anything to clear them.  They will automatically be removed after 14 days of inactivity.

  • ICloud: Safari Bookmark Sync

For my Safari browser I am replacing Xmarks with iCloud for my syncing. I use Safari on three separate computers and an iPhone. I would like my initial iCloud sync be based on my main computer for the first sync. Hoping it will carry the folder structure over to the browsers on the other devices. After that initial sync, I will like to just have everything Sync like normal. Is there a way to do this or indicate it somehow? I know Xmarks allowed for this and in fact gave you choices how you wanted the sync to be handled.
Anyone have a solution, advice or recommendation on how to do this? It's greatly appreciated. Thank you!
    ~ErickP

All fixed on my end now.  No more safaridavclient taking 8gb of ram at 100% cpu
This is what I did, hope it works for you - don't do this if you never use the commandline
~/Library/Safari  copied to a folder on desktop for backup
In safari exported bookmarks for backup
removed all bookmarks that had javascript in it
let safaridavclient run for 10 minutes at 100%
    killed safaridavclient
    stopped iCloud bookmark syncing
    rm -Rf ~/Library/Safari
    rm -Rf ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.safar*
    rm -Rf ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safar*
    rm -Rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safa*
    rm -Rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.safa*
    reopen safari
wait until it rebuilds and open apple.com
    quit safari
    start iCloud bookmark syncing
    wait 15 minutes
bookmarks may be back, you can delete them or keep them if they are good
i deleted them and imported the good bookmarks
Turned on iphone and iPad bookmark syncing

  • ICloud Safari tab sync doesn't work?

I have iOS 6 and both my iPod and Mac are connected to the iCloud account. Any ideas why it doesn't work? The iCloud icon keeps saying the infamous "iCloud automatically shows all the ....."  But nothing pops up. I have Safari open on my iPod with 5 tabs. Has anyone had a similar problem, or is it just me? haha

    Hello ascSB,
I was researching the issue you are describing, and have some ideas for things for you to try. First I First from our would turn off Safari in Settings>iCloud, then back on. I recommend choosing to keep safari data on your phone when you turn it off, it will prompt you. If that doesnt make the icloud tabs act correctly, then from our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1 I would try sections 1, 3, and 5.
Here is section one to get you started.
    Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
When you get to section 3, I recommend closing ALL the apps.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • ICloud, Safari, and Mail on MacBook Pro and iPhone 4

My MacBook Pro has OSX 10.7.5, iPhone is 4g, and Apple Mail is Ver 5.3.
Currently, Apple Mail on the MacBook Pro is setup on the iCloud and I have many folders in the Cloud to store email.    The iPhone depicts all mail similarly as the MacBook Pro.  In addition, on Safari, I have a bookmark to iCloud.com.  Have used iCloud.com to send email, edit contacts, and calendar.  Seems to work well.
Was wondering if one can discontinue using the Apple Mail client on the MacBook Pro and delete all the emails and folders without adversely impacting the mail and folders on iCloud.com?
I suppose the same question applies to the calendar and contact applications on the MacBook Pro and iPhone.  If so, it appears one can use all three of the applications at iCloud.com without having to use them separately on the MacBook Pro.  Please advise.
    Thanks.

  • After activating iCloud Safari gets troublesome slow

On my MacPro a clean install gets perfect performance.
Only after activating iCloud both Mail & Safari have problems. Mail gets unreliable with exchange 2010, ie deleted mails keep coming back.
Safari takes ages to load pages. On another machine at the same time these pages have no problem at all.
I repeated the installation proces on a clean disk with reproducable results.
On my MacBookPro en IMac these problems do _not_ occur.

10.8.2 seems to do the job

  • Mail fails on iCloud/Safari and on Mountain Lion, works on IOS?

I'm traveling, and in a jam because Mail has stopped working on my MacBook Pro early 2011, and trying to work around this with Safari and iCloud Mail also fails--can't load Inbox, try again later, after a long wait, almost always.
I'm beginning to suspect it's due to the number of emails in my Inbox (67000), and Mail on the laptop has to match its cache against all of them perhaps, while Mail on IOS only looks at the last 1000 or so.
But my situation is confusing, because I'm traveling internationally, and various services are blocking my access from foreign IP addresses. For example, I've got a large Gmail account too, and was sent an email from Google proudly saying they'd managed to block a suspicious access from Belgium (where I was). They did provide a way to get past the limit, though, via Safari and their web interface. But that makes me wonder if Apple may be blocking "suspicious" accesses too, and just not telling me about it.
I've tried to eliminate that problem by using a VPN so it looks like I'm logging in from near my home, but the VPN setup is erratic--there are two user accounts on my laptop, and the VPN will only work with one of them at a time, so often one or the other account is logging in with the foreign IP address. I can understand why the system might be suspicious when I log in from Belgium, then France, then San Jose, all within an hour, as happened recently due to the VPN confusion.
Does anyone know if Apple is blocking things from foreign IPs without telling me?
I can't reduce the size of my Inbox, because I can't access it, so it looks like if that's the trouble I'm stuck forever. Last time I tried to archive a big chunk of it everything got tied in knots and the system became unusable for days, and I had to restore from Time Machine.
Gmail handles far larger Inboxes without problem, so I am not sure that's the trouble. My philosophy in recent years is to leave everything in one box so it's easy to find things using Search, which works well on Gmail but now I'm not so sure on Mac.

  • Getting iCloud Safari Bookmarks to sync successfully and consistently across all Windows OS on Parallels ?

    Hi there....
Does anyone know how to successfully sync your Safari Bookmarks for Mac on iCloud across all browsers and operating systems setup in Parallels software.
Currently when I open any of the Windows OS on Parallels they mess up my Mac bookmarks with duplicates and extra bookmarks and I have to go through the whole Timemachine restore bookmarks process to get them working again as I had them.
It would be great of anyone out there just had a fail safe step by step guide to getting my bookmarks to sync consistently across all devices, browsers and operating systems from OSX Mavericks to Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
I have asked an Apple Expert previously about this but he couldn't figure out how to get this to work either.
Any comments or suggestions most welcome.

  • Rogue iCloud Safari tab from friend's pc stuck on my iPhone

I installed iOS7.1 from a friend's pc and then restored from my iCloud backup, but a safari tab is somehow on my phone with her name on it, there is a picture of a cloud and then 'Suzanne's iPhone' above the rogue safari tab. How do I delete it? If I switch off Safari in my iCloud (on the phone) then this Safari tab disappears, but as soon as I toggle Safari on again the tab comes back. How do I delete it from my iCloud backup?

  • Mistake in Italian iCloud Safari Tab

Hi, I find a mistake in the translation of the Italian iCloud Tab on Safari, as you can see in the screenshot.
It doesn't make any sense "iCloud mostra automaticamente tutte apri i pannelli su altri dispositivi".
I really don't know what Apple want to say, probably only "iCloud mostra automaticamente tutti i pannelli aperti su altri dispositivi", but I'm not too sure
Do you know how to tell to Apple this problem, if they haven't discovered it yet=
