ICloud saying password is incorrect

I changed password in I forgot and after change iCloud still tells me my password is incorrect!

Guys when I originally had this problem I left it for c. 1/2 day and it seemed to sync up without doing anything else!!!!!! I think there may be a capacity in the 'apple orchard' that cannot cope with user demand.  My advise is be patient and escalate if it don't work after a day.

    But unable to do so.
Every time it keeps asking for Apple ID password, even though i enter correct password, it keeps saying password is incorrect...

You have apps that need updating that were purchased with that other account.
To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • Says password is incorrect, but I know it's not.

When I log into my computer I am able to enter my password and it works just fine. But when I am changing settings or trying to download new software it says password is incorrect. I am not sure what is going on. Any help?

It is OS X Mavericks now, and it is the admin account. I talked to someone from apple this is what he told me to do reset the password with out the correct password.
To Reset the ORIGINAL ADMINISTRATOR password on the Mac, what we need to do is boot to Recovery Partition and use the password reset utility. To do so, we need to use the following steps.
    1. With the Mac powered down, go ahead and power it back on holding down the Option key to open the Startup Manager.
    2. Select the Recovery Disk or Recovery HD that is listed using the arrow keys and the Return key to select.
    3. In the next screen choose the language, then click the arrow button to continue.
    4. In the Apple Menu bar at the top, look for the Utilities drop down button, then select Terminal from here.
    5. In the new Terminal window, type "Resetpassword" (with out the quotation marks) then press return.
    6. The Password Reset Dialogue Box will appear. Choose the Mac OS X hard drive, which is usually listed as Mac HD or Macintosh HD.
    7. Select the User account you would like to reset, then enter the remaining information, then click Reset below it.
    8. Click Save then choose the red button in the upper left hand corner to quit the application.
    9. Choose the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner and select Restart.
    10. Once the computer has been restarted you should be able to log in to your Account using the new Password for your user account. You will be prompted to "Create a New Keychain". it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you create a New Keychain.
After you have reset the password for the new keychain, you may be prompted to reset a few passwords. If it is requesting your Keychain password, just use the same password as the one you have just reset.

  • Emails won't send from Hotmail account on iphone as message says password is incorrect

I recently had a problem with my hotmail account which meant it was blocked and I had to go through a securitiy process to unblock my account and change my password. I can now use my hotmail account again and changed the password on my phone settings to be able to use this account on my phone again. However, when I try to send emails from my iphone from my hotmail account, it says my password is incorrect and the emails won't send. I am also not convinced that I am receiving all emails, although some came through when I initially re-added the account. I have tried to delete the account and add it again, as well as restart my iphone, but I am still having the same problem. The password I have for the account is correct! I would be so grateful if anyone could help.
    Thanks.

For anyone else having this problem I have found a solution! You need to change the outgoing server settings as well as the incoming server password which appears on the main settings page. Go into the account in settings and select the box under outgoing mail server. Click on the box under primary server. This will take you to the settings, including the password which you can change.

  • Since upgrading to 10.9.3, am unable to connect to wi-fi now.  When I try to delete and re-add the network, it says password is incorrect, though it's never changed on the router

Anyone else having trouble with the 10.9.3 Mavericks upgrade.  Machine goes to sleep, won't re-connect to the wi-fi I've been using for nearly a year.  Deleted all wi-fi networks and locations, went back to start from scratch, not can't add any wi-fi, can see the wireless network and select it, but when I try to enter the password, I get 'password is incorrect' or when I try to connect and finally do enter a password, it says 'Connection timed out'.  Very frustrating.  No settings have changed on the wireless network as iMac and iPads are still connecting fine.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Some of these steps are only possible if you have control over the wireless router.
    Step 1
Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
    Step 2
Restart the router and the computer. Many problems are solved that way.
    Step 3
Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
    Step 4
    Run the Network Diagnostics assistant.
    Step 5
In OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and fix the issues listed in the Summary, if any.
    Step 6
    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.
    Step 7
You may need to change other settings on the router. See the guidelines linked below:
Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    Potential sources of interference
    Step 8
Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    Step 9
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).

  • Why is mail saying password is incorrect but it isn't?

Why is my mail suddenly saying the password is incorrect and it isn't?

The solution if you recently enabled 2 step verification password!
(thanks to the "wdurham" for posting this on "http://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/gmail/9IzAs62ta3U")
    Is:
Have you recently enabled 2 step verification on your GMail account?
If you have, you will need an application specific password for your clients/devices.  See http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1173270 below for how to do that:
If you have not, you may simply have to re-verify via the web by either (a) successfully signing in and out of your account using a web browser, or (b) unlocking the Captcha - see how to do that here: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=78754

  • Says password is incorrect...

When I try to connect my older iBook (G3; running OSX) to my WRT54G router by putting in the password, it says the password is incorrect.  However, I am certain that it is correct.  Does anyone know what's going on?  I've tried both of the two security options in the Advisor program, but neither allow me to connect.  It just says that the password is incorrect.
I've connected this iBook to this same model router (a slightly older model, but the same model) before that was secure, so I know it has to work.

Encryption (almost) always works with encryption keys. The question is only how to create this encryption key.
WEP, WPA, and WPA2 all use encryption keys in their implementation to encrypt and decrypt the traffic.
With WEP you can enter up to four keys and you can define one as default transfer key for data transmissions. You can enter 40 bit keys for WEP64 or 104 bit keys for WEP128. The actual keys used for transmissions are 64 bit and 128 bit long. 24 bits are added by the WEP algorithm (the ominous IV vector which is one of the reasons why WEP can be cracked so quickly).
To enter the 40 or 104 bit keys in WEP you have generally three choices. Not all choices are available with all devices and cards:
    1. Enter the key in hexadecimals, i.e. 10 or 26 hexadecimal digits (0-9, a-f). This has the advantage that the keys are exactly specified and you can enter them easily with your keyboard.
    2. Enter the key in ascii, i.e. 5 or 13 ascii characters, i.e. arbitrary characters including characters which are hard or impossible to enter with a keyboard. If you enter a simple key with your keyboard you can enter it everywhere in the same form. But if your key contains a character like CTRL-C (ascii code 3) it gets difficult to impossible...
    3. Enter a passphrase with any characters you like and generate the four keys from the passphrase. While this allows you to enter a nice readable text as passphrase, WEP does not define exactly how to derive the keys from the passphrase. The problem here is that any manufacturer can do it differently. Therefore entering a passphrase may not work on a different computer or device.
WPA and WPA2 basically work the same. It uses only a single key which is 256 bit long. On some devices you can enter the key itself entering 64 hexadecimals. Not all support this, I think. The alternative is to enter a passphrase 8-63 characters long from which the key is derived. For WPA and WPA2 the algorithm to derive the key from the passphrase is exactly defined. Any implementation of WPA or WPA2 follows the same procedure. Therefore you can enter a passphrase on any computer or device and it should derived the same key, thus the devices should be able to talk to each other.
Thus, you'll usually only really see the encryption keys for WEP although they are used everywhere.
The passphrases make things easier to enter and use. However, there are still some pitfalls with passphrases depending on the device you use. For instance, % is a special character when communicating with a web server. If you enter a passphrase with % into the web configuration interface of a router some unpredictable things may happen. Thus, while one device correctly uses % at that place some other device may accidentally encode the % in the passphrase resulting in a different passphrase.

  • Iphone 5 wifi won't connect, says password is incorrect though it is not

I updated my iPhone 5 to the new iOS 8... Before this it connected to the router's wifi connection, but then afterwards it repeats the message that the password is incorrect. I have typed the password correctly, reset the network, disabled airdrop with Airfried, rebooted, and restarted the router. The phone will connect for an hour after the router is reset, accept the password, but then drop the wifi connection and then say the password is incorrect. So, I know it can connect, but the connection is lost and I repeat the cycle of having to restart the router every few hours. I'd like to make a permenet fix to this problem. Please help

For anyone coming late, the Verizon router is actually made by Actiontec, and has the same Actiontec model number. It's for the most part more reliable than most consumer routers, and problems with it are rare, but not unheard of.
The first step is to reboot the router. Turn it off for about 15 seconds.
If the issue persists go into the router settings and carefully check the MAC filtering. If it's on, turn it off and try again. There was a bug in the Actiontec, and I don't know if it was fixed. It allowed more MAC addresses in the whitelist than the router actually recognized. So if your whitelist had 12 WiFi addresses in it only the first 10 would actually work.

  • My email on Optonline will not send- says password/username incorrect

I just got the Iphone 6plus and set it up (I have used iPhones successfully for years). I can receive emails on my optonline/cablevision account- no problem. But when trying to send I get the message "user name or password for SMPT: [email protected] is incorrect". I deleted and reset the account several times but it still won't send. I have 2 other email accounts on my iPhone and they work fine... iCloud and a school account. NO problems at all.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi William Huisking1,
Depending on how you connect, the outgoing mail server may need to be different.
iOS: Configuring additional outgoing mail servers
Depending on your ISP, you may not be able to use the default outgoing SMTP server when using certain Wi-Fi or cellular networks. This article outlines how to setup additional outgoing SMTP servers.
Please check with optonline and insure the server is the one you need for your connection.
