Icloud saying "waiting" on pages docs?

hello,
I just saved some pages docs on Iclaoud, but it won't appear on my Ipad as usual,
and when I check by opening them in Icloud via pages, there's a dot cloud & the sign "waiting"
what's happening ?
how can I get them to appear on my Ipad ?
thx

Some parts of the Apple site are apparently down so I suggest you try later. Meanwhile, you could abort the operation and try again.

  • Installed iCloud and now all Pages docs are missing.  How do I recover them?

I installed icloud this morning.  This evening, when I went to use Pages, I discovered that all of my documents are missing.  How do I recover them from before I converted to iCloud?  Or can I?

    Hi Twitty,
hmm, I knew I was missing something fairly obvious. I went into AppStore and the apps were there with an "accept" option rather than a price. I've started the download.
I've no idea if this means I'll be charged or not. I never got a screen with a price on it so hopefully not.
    thanks for your quick response,
    Sam.

  • I've edited a Pages doc stored on iCloud on my iMac, and for the past hour or so it's been showing as updating on my iPad with the cogwheel going round. How do I stop it?

I've edited a Pages doc (which is stored on iCloud) on my iMac; when I checked on my iPad it just shows that the document is updating with the cog wheel going round and it's been like that now for well over an hour. While that is going on Pages on my iPad is frozen and I can't open the document. When I logged onto my iCloud account I found that the document is updated there. Can someone please explain what is going on with my iPad and how I can stop what seems a never ending process.

    Hi tomtreb,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!

    Unable to update documents
Documents I've updated on my Mac or uploaded from iCloud.com don't appear on my iOS device
If you're using an iWork for iOS app (Pages, Numbers, or Keynote), check the iCloud system requirements and make sure that you're using the latest version of iWork. For third party apps, check the documentation that came with the app, or check with the app developer to make sure the app supports iCloud. App Store application descriptions often indicate whether the app supports iCloud.
Go to Apple () menu > System Preferences on your Mac. Click iCloud and confirm that you're signed in to iCloud and the Documents & Data checkbox is selected.
After opening your iOS app, wait a few minutes for the documents to appear. Your iOS device may not have connected to iCloud since changes were made to the document at iCloud.com or on your other devices.
Try creating a new document on your iOS device, then check again for the documents from iCloud to appear.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data and confirm that Use Cellular Data is turned on.
Confirm that you're connected to the Internet by checking for an Edge, 3G, 4G, LTE, or Wi-Fi icon in your device's status bar. Test your connection by opening apple.com in Safari.
Try resetting iCloud Documents & Data service.
Note: Preview and TextEdit documents uploaded to your iCloud Documents Library on your Mac will not be visible on iCloud.com or an iOS device, and iCloud iWork documents saved to iCloud cannot be viewed in Preview or TextEdit.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • How do I get Pages docs to iCloud?

I've only have a Macbook Pro running Lion--no iphone or ipad.  I've made the movedfrom MobileMe to iCloud.  Mail, Contacts, and Calender have uploaded and are there, but the iWork icon sends me to a page that says, "To get started, launch Pages on your iOS device and turn on iCloud."  I don't have an iOS device and don't plan on getting one.  Can I still get my pages docs from my macbook pro to the iCloud?

Thanks for your quick response.  I am disappointed with the iCloud.  It is bad enough losing my Gallery, now I can't even upload a document.  Maybe Apple's wisdom will become apparent in time . . . or maybe not.

  • Dropbox vs. iCloud for Sharing Pages Docs

iCloud Dive has been erratic and unreliable for me sharing a pages docs. iOS Pages says it now supports Dropbox.
         1. Can I save my Pages docs in Dropbox and have them still appear in Pages iOS "thumbnail directory"?
         2. Are they automatically saved to Dropbox?
          3. Can I use iCloud beta on a PC tomstill edit, these docs from Dropbox?

Dropbox still has some integration issues with iWorks apps as far as actually appearing in the available storage options list. You can, however, export and store Pages files (in native format) to drop box as well Box and other file management apps, as well as send them from those apps to Pages for editing.

  • How do I only put selected iPad Pages docs onto iCloud?

I am using the latest Pages app on my iPad2.  I want to only put certain documents from Pages into iCloud.  I want to do the same with Numbers and Keynote.  In other words, I want to decide what does and does not go onto iCloud.
Is there a way to do so?  If not how can I save Pages documents to Dropbox?

There is no way on an iDevice to sync Pages docs (which are stored in the Pages app's sandbox) to Dropbox.
You can't decide which docs go to icloud, it's all or nothing.
But on the mac side, you can decide which pages files are synced to icloud and which are not.  That's as close as you can get to controlling what is stored in icloud.

    (1) The OP is technically correct - there is no direct equivalent of  "save as".   There is "save a version" and there is "duplicate".
    (2) So far it seems that to get the same effect as "save as" you need to create a "duplicate", then save the duplicate.  The duplicate will automatically be given a name like "docname.copy.pages", which can be changed to that desired.
    (1) nobody wrote about the technical aspect of the OP's question !
    But, you wrote something wrong.
There is a "Duplicate" item, a "Save a Version" item and there is a "Save…" item.
    (2)  The reproduced help page clearly state that the first step is to trigger 'Duplicate' For the second step, it's not clear. It seems that the ones writing the Help were not informed of the definite choices made by the developers. They wrote "Save As" but never was such an item. It was "Save As…" in which the ellipsis is an important component. At last, the developers defined two items : "Save…" and "Save a Version" ( at this time I'm running 10.6.8 so I can't check if this item has or hasn't an ellipsis).

  • HT201269 I upgraded from iPhone 4S to iPhone 5S, but not all of my apps were synced from the iCloud, they keep saying - "waiting".

I had an iPhone 4S and kept everthing on it in the iCloud. When I went to sync my new iPhone 5S, about 10 of my apps didn't sync with the new phone. Now these apps say "waiting". I have tried to sync again, several times, but they still say "waiting". What is going on?

    Hello J.Kelly
Check out the troubleshooting article below. You will probably want to delete the app and then download it again from the App Store.

  • I downloaded the Keynote app to use on my iPad and because of iCloud, it is trying unsuccessfully to download onto my iPhone. How can I get it to stop attempting to download onto my iPhone? It says waiting and I can't delete it (no X to click). Thx!

Did you try shutting down the device? Resetting? Disabling iCloud? Disabling auto-update?
I'd find the problem that is keeping the download from proceeding and fix that so that the process can finish...sounds like it may be your connection or a server issue, in which case you may need to wait.

  • Several times a month, when I go to open Firefox, it says "wait installing new updates". After they are installed, Firefox won't open, it says "page not found." I have to then reload Firefox. How can I stop these updates?

Before Firefox open the little window opens saying"wait installing new updates." Then after when opening Firefox, my home page says "can't find this page. I have plugged in the address: http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official and it Firefox still won't open. I have to run the Firefox setup 3.6.3 on my desktop, to get Firefox to open on my home page. I would like to stop these automatic Updates from running; how?

Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

  • How do my boss and I share documents via iCloud? I log in as her to download a Pages doc, edit, then save to iCloud again but it does not save to hers. Even if I'm logged in as her.

I log in as her to download a Pages doc, edit, then save to iCloud again but it does not save to hers. Even if I'm logged in as her.
    Thanks in advance!

This only works if you add her account as your primary accoun on your device and enable syncing "Documents & Data" in "Settings >iCloud".

  • I am still having great difficulty with pages docs in iCloud.

I thought Pages docs created on either device - ie iPad and MacBook - were supposed to update automatically but they don't. I can see the little cloud thing in action while typing on my document on the MacBook but the document stays exactly the same on my iPad and I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help please?

Documents that have been created or edited on your mobile devices and saved in iCloud, can be accessed from your Mac at the website iCloud.com. You will need to download the documents from iCloud in order to edit them on your Mac.
Similarly, any documents created or edited on your Mac, will will need uploading to the iCloud.com website in order for you to share them with your mobile devices.

  • How/where do icloud synced Pages docs get filed in other devices?

I guess that's my question in a nutshell..
I have several devices with all sorts of different files and filing systems... If I want to sync a modified Pages doc that, for instance, is duplicated across several files on my mac, would they ALL be modified when it syncs with iCloud?
Also, my other question is... Where in devices with different filing systems do synced docs land?
    Hope that makes sense,...

iCloud doesn't sync any documents on your mac, it syncs documents between iOS devices and iCloud.com, you can upload and download documents to and from iCloud.com to and from your mac so they can be used with iOS devices or used from iOS devices.
You don't see any filing structure on the iOS devices, each document is listed within the app itself when you go to 'Documents' from the app interface
