ICloud says my iTunes purchased video is 'ineligible'

I have a bunch of music videos purchased on iTunes, and one of them doesn't get recognized: "Mas que Nada (feat. the Black Eyed Peas)" by Serio Mendes. The video is within the size limit and I have several similar ones from the same artist that work fine with iCloud. I am using Mac OS X Lion and the latest iTunes. The video was purchased a few years ago through my Apple TV and does not seem to appear in the iTunes store anymore. I don't care if it isn't recognized as "Purchased" but at least it should be backed up in iCloud. What's the problem? How do I solve it?

  • ITunes purchased videos and all DRM movies will not play on iOS 8 devices when streamed from an external drive (or streamed from other wireless devices). Any solution in sight?

Video streaming of DRM movies, purchased from iTunes and other vendors, to any iOS device is not working.

I am not sure if you really understand the issue at hand. Possibly that you are just scanning, not reading the whole text, or simply that you just want to close a thread with your last words or derail it for whatever strange reason. So far you have been more destructive than helpful, but again this could be ignorance at best.
If you would have had the decency to read the entire thread you would have come to the conclusion that every manufacturer, I came across, has posted FAQ's to this issue but Apple. Find a short excerpt below:
SeaGate  http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/006135en?language=en_US <http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/006135en?language=en_US> Playing DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected movies in Seagate Media App Information regarding remote streaming of DRM protected movies. Most forms of DRM (Digital Rights Management) will prevent playing movies on unauthorized devices or from remote storage hosted on wireless drives or NAS drives(Seagate Wireless, Seagate Wireless Plus, Seagate Central or Seagate Personal Cloud). Movies purchased from iTunes can be streamed to iOS 6 and iOS 7 devices which were authorized from remote storage (the video could be selected in Seagate Media App and would be played in a Safari browser), however in iOS 8 this has stopped working. A bug has been filed with Apple, however this functionality has not been restored. Therefore, DRM protected movies purchased on iTunes can no longer be played on devices running iOS 8.
SanDisk  http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16668/kw/itunes <http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16668/kw/itunes> Videos purchased or rented from iTunes will not play in iOS 8 The SanDisk Wireless Media Drive and Wireless Flash Drive support streaming of DRM protected iTunes purchased movie content to authorized devices in iOS 6 and iOS 7 ONLY. The DRM protected content is opened in Safari where the DRM is decrypted and the video is played. iOS 8 issue In iOS 8 Apple device has NOT enabled Safari based DRM decryption. Therefore DRM protected content, i.e. purchased movies or TV shows from iTunes, CANNOT be streamed from the Media Drive/WFD in iOS 8. This issue has been reported to Apple. We do not have any estimated date when Safari will support DRM decryption of iTunes purchased content.

Here are the remaining issues that we are aware of in the iOS 8 general release: • Video streaming of DRM movies (purchased from iTunes and other vendors): iTunes purchased videos and all DRM movies will not play on iOS 8 devices when streamed from AirStash (or streamed from other wireless devices). These movies are digitally protected and the AirStash app sends them to the Safari browser to play (which works for all prior iOS versions). However, in iOS 8, Safari will no longer allow DRM movies to play. These movies will play when the video is transferred to the iPhone/iPad and played in the Apple's Video App or the corresponding App from the vendor.

If this is the case and Apple will not address this issue or fix it since Apple believes that movies should be protected this way, you need to let the community know that movies are restricted this way. It appears that Apple finally fixed an issue they had with their movie DRMs. The files should have never played in the first place. • TS1424 Hi  I had this problem before and you fixed it. I just bought the updated phone and have no mail and it says me itunes purchases are disabled.  Can you help me??????????????????

Hi  I had this problem before and you helped fix it.  I just bought an updated Iphone and now it says my itunes purchases are disabled.  They also put spelled my name wrong and  I do not have any mail coming thru.  Please help me!!!!

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
If your account is disabled (I assume that it what you mean by 'my itunes purchases are disabled') then you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
If you aren't receiving the email to your rescue email account then you can contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country via this page and see if they can enable it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.
Not sure what you mean by 'they also spelled my name wrong' - where are you seeing it ? Your name should be appearing how you entered it.

  • How to save an iTunes purchased video as a Quicktime file?

    Hi,
How do I save an iTunes purchased video (which is an .m4v file) as a Quicktime file?
    Thank you!
    C

Thanks for this. I see how I can play the video as a Quicktime, but I wanted to save it so I can import it to iMovie... I can't import a .m4v in iMovie, only Quicktime. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Why does Match list the iCloud status of iTunes purchased songs as "Exceeded Limit"?

Why does Match list the iCloud status of iTunes purchased songs as "Exceeded Limit"?

because you have loaded over 25,000 songs to the icloud library.  to find out exactly what is in icloud from itunes match follow these directions to create a blank itunes library and load only the itunes match songs from icloud.
    1. You will need to know the location of your iTunes library for later, the default is under music under your username.  If its not there find it and remember where it is for later.
    2. Then you have to exit iTunes and create a new empty library. To do this hold the option key when you open iTunes.  Choose create Library on the pop up dialogue. Create the library anywhere on your system, you can delete the entire library once you have completed your iCloud changes.
    3. When the library opens in iTunes it will be empty. Click on iTunes Match and click the start button.  after it finishes all of the songs on your iCloud match account will be listed under music.
if you want to delete some or all songs from icloud so you can re-sync itunes match to show the songs in your current library fowwow this.
    4. you can select up to 1000 at a time and delete them.
    5. when you have deleted what you want, close iTunes and open again holding the option key and navigate to your original library, usually in the music folder under your username.  You should be all set and can click iTunes match again and your account will be populated with the ones in your current library.
    6. You can navigate to the temp library you created in finder and delete it as it is no longer needed.

  • ITunes purchased video no longer plays on 3GS after upgrade to os 4

iTunes purchased video no longer plays on 3GS after upgrade to os 4. Specifically, curious George episodes used to make my 2 year old go off to his quiet place no longer play on my iPhone. Anyone else having this issue or know of a solution? The content was purchased on iTunes and played fine on previous os.

  • ITunes purchased videos do not play correctly

Since upgrading to iTunes 7.6 my purchased videos (music or otherwise) no longer work. The audio is ok but I only get bands of color for video. I have upgraded to the latest QuickTime and it didn't help. All other video (DVD, internet, etc.) work fine, it only appears to be my iTunes videos. Has anyone else encountered this?

  • Can't view iTunes purchased videos in quicktime?

went to iTunes media folder and tried playing a TV show purchased in iTunes to no success. Also tried copying it to the desktop and playing it (just in case) with no success. Is there a way to view iTunes purchased content on my computer outside of iTunes?

Close iTunes - use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Reboot and open iTunes and see if that helps.

  • Will iCloud enable new iTunes purchases to be automatically downloaded to multiple iTunes libraries under different logins on the SAME iMac?

So I have a customer with one iMac and a user login on that iMac for each member of the family.  Under each user login, iTunes is configured with the same Apple ID so any purchases are made on the one account.  What they want is that no matter who purchases iTunes content from the iTunes Store, it appears in ALL their iTunes libraries.  If I configure iCloud with the SAME Apple ID under each login, and tick the 3 "Automatically Download New Purchases" boxes in iTunes under each login, then will new purchases be automatically downloaded to every library when the library owner logs in?  Or does iCloud only enable this functionlity based on a hardware ID, ie it will only work once per machine rather than once per user login?
There must be a simple yes/no answer to this, but it's a fair bit of work to set up a test rig so I'm hoping somebody already knows!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello campin,
Congrats on your now MacBook Pro and welcome to the Apple family!
So, I'm just going to address each question directly.
    1) Short answer: yes. The article "iTunes 11 for Mac: Download previous purchases from the iTunes Store" goes over the process of downloading all of your previously purchased content.
    2) When you plug in your device you should see that iTune will allow you to configure the syncing options for each type of content. See "iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer" for more info.
    3) Automatic downloads is something that you can disable, but is enabled by default. This is also something that be different for Music and Apps. See "iTunes Store: How to enable Automatic Downloads"
It's a lot of information, but that should help you out and enjoy your new MacBook Pro!

  • Itunes purchased video barely plays on my new laptop, I'm at a loss

Hey, I'm not sure if this is a problem with itunes and vista compatability or what, but I just bought a new HP notebook and installed itunes. I purchased a tv episode and when I try to play it I'm getting about 1 frame every 30 seconds while the audio plays normally. I played a dvd to make sure it wasn't my graphics card and that played fine...and I watch streaming video through IE, so I'm at a loss. Has anyone had this problem, any ideas? Thanks, Jason

Will iTunes open in safe mode? Hold down CTRL+SHIFT as, or immediately after, you click the icon that starts iTunes and keep holding until you see this prompt.
    Click Continue.
Assuming iTunes has opened, enable the menu bar, if necessary, with CTRL+B. Then go to Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. Press OK, close iTunes, wait until it has had a chance to fully close then reopen.
    Will iTunes open normally now?
If not, see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for genral advice.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • ITunes purchased video has no audio or out of sync

I purchased a TV series in the iTunes store and there is no audio on one of the TV episodes and it is out of sync in another episode by about 3 seconds. I have confirmed that it is the video files themselves that are to blame since iTunes and quicktime on 3 different machines all have the same problem.
I need to be able to redownload these episodes, but iTunes does not allow multiple downloads without paying for them again. Since iTunes never delivered the files correctly in the first place, there should be an exception in this case and I be allowed to redownload the two episodes again.
Can someone please advise on the best course of action, or who to contact to achieve this.

in iTunes, access your *purchase history* via your account in the iTunes store,
find the files in question, and click on +report a problem+. report the problem.

  • Itunes purchased video skips

I bought the replay of Super Bowl 43. First 2 and a half hours are flawless .. but during the last 10 minutes of the show .. the audio and video skip .. losing words and scenes. Reading other posts, this does not seem to be a common problem. Did I just get a bad feed or could something have happened with my MBA during the last few minutes of downloading?
    Thank you.

Go here and fill out the form: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/
Use the "purchase(s) - problem" category. Give as much detail as possible.
Someone from the iTunes store will contact you by email, usually within a day.

  • Burn Audio Only from iTunes Purchased Videos

I was thinking about buying the Green Day video album, but would like to burn the audio to a CD for the car. Anyone know of a way to do this, other than Audio Hijack? I seems to me Apple should have built this into iTunes somewhere.

There is no other way than using an application like Hijack.

  • Previously purchased videos from iTunes now no longer play in iTunes 7.0

Just upgraded to iTunes 7.0 and was ded impressed with the new look etc... right until I thort i'd have a peek at some music vids. From a collection of 20 or so I now only have 5 left. The rest are in the music library with their little video icon but won't play properly. It looks like the video codec is wrong but since they are virtually all iTunes purchased videos this seems a huge oversight on their part! When played i just get a flashing green and yellow screen instead of the video. Can any one help?
    Thanks in advance
    Jack

I have a similar problem. Music videos will play, but with a framerate of about 1fps. Manually recorded clips that are in my library in order to watch them on my iPod have the same problem. Same for video-podcasts. However, I have not lost any. Also they all still play well on the iPod.
To sum it up: Within iTunes 7 i cannot watch any videos that worked in iTunes 6.
