os x lion mail does not save icloud sent email with attachment... are there people who experience the same problem? i was with Apple Support via chat and he could not resolve the problem. I was given a phone number to call, i assume it's tech support for OS X or Mail but I did not have time to be on the phone for a long time... thank you

I finally fixed it! I verified and repaired disk permissions on my Mac... how come the Apple Tech Guy didn't know that???!!!! Shocking

  • View sent email folder

Ihave the 8330 and have two email accounts (aol & comcast) and cannot view my sent messages. When I go to the "view folder" it only shows in box and spam. How do I add my sent messages folder? Thanks

    Welcome to the forums
In your messages folder press menu, go to Options>General Options. Make sure "Hide Sent Messages" is set to "No". They should now show up in your messages folder.

  • ICloud sent emails disappeared and can't restore from Time Machine

I'm having a very weird problem with my iCloud email. Sometime between last Friday and Saturday, all the sent messages on iCloud disappeared. They disappeared from the webmail and from all my devices (Macbook, iMac, iPhone, iPad). All the other mailboxes on iCloud are still intact.
Since I have a Time Machine backup, I tried to restore the messages. I can see all the messages on Time Machine, and I can browse and open them individually but if I try to restore them, nothing apparently happens (a dialog box saying "Restoring messages from iCloud" appears for a few seconds then disappears and no message has been restored). I tried restoring the entire Sent mailbox, then a few messages and then just one message with the same result.
I suspected a corruption in the mailbox, so I repaired the disk (no errors found) and reindexed the mailbox according to this article http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14876 and tried again but still no luck.
    I'm very puzzled. Any advice?

Don't know why they disappeared. Did you check all setting for the mailbox behaviors? If any are set to delete from the servers after a certain amount of time, then it will do that. Make sure you check each device carefully where the sent messages are stored (server, going to trash).
Also check iCloud.com website and make sure sent messages aren't being sent to trash and deleted after a number of days also.
Also, deselect all iCloud mail from all other devices to test and solve from here. That way no other device will interfer with sent messages. Be sure to check iCloud.com settings also.
When you restore from TM, you should do it from the Mail Application. Open mail and choose Sent Mailbox. Click to enter TM. Go back in time till you see your messages. Click to restore. A folder for TM will appear in the sidebar under On My Mac section. If it is not expanded, place the cursor over On My Mac and choose Show (it will appear when the cursor is over it). You should see your recovered messages there.

  • Can I recover My sent Email folder?

I use Entourage as my email client. I had a power failure overnight and when I launched the computer this morning all email accounts were gone. I set up the accounts (ATT) and the inbox was reestablished, but there was nothing in the sent folder. AT&T of course is no help. I use Backblaze for backup. If the emails were/are on my computer I should be able to restore them, but I don't know where. I went into the Library and found a Mail folder, but there is no sent folder there. Any help would be appreciated.

If you use Entourage, the database is in your Documents/Microsoft User Data/
Look for Profiles or somthing like that. It is in there.
Also realize that the Entourage mail store is a database, any corruption in the file at all could lose all of your email.

  • Mail - "To Do" from Sent Email folder - Is placed into "On My Mac"

I have an IMAP account set-up in Mail that was working just fine. I have a folder in the "Reminders Section" in the left pane window. In the "To do" section I have 2 folders created for each of my IMAP accounts in addition there is a folder that was created automatically "On My Mac".
When I create a To Do from a mail message that arrives into my inbox the To do shows in the appropriate folder created for that account.
The issue that just arise is if i create a To do from a sent mail for one account the To Do does not get placed in the appropriate folder it gets placed in the "On My Mac" Folder. Now this only happens to one of the accounts, the other account places the To Do in the correct folder.
How to I change the settings to have the new To Do created from sent folder be placed into the correct folder and not the "On My Mac" Folder.
In addition how do I delete the "On My Mac" Folder from the Reminders Section
    thanks

It all depends on what kind of email account you have. IMAP accounts (e.g. Gmail) will sync folders across devices. Exchange accounts will as well. POP3 accounts (e.g. AOL, Comcast, Verizon) will not sync folders. What kind of email account do you have? Consult your email provider if you're not sure. If it's POP3, see if they have an IMAP option.

  • My sent email folder is full and I cna't compact them. I owul dlike to move them to another folder, start fresh, but be able to see that older folder

My Thunderbird Sent folder is almost full (4 Gig) and I can't compact it any further. My Inbox folder is getting there as well so my question applies to both folders.
I've backed up my Thunderbird data files onto another hard drive, so they should be safe.
What I'd like to do is to move my current Sent folder emails to another folder that I can still access easily with Thunderbird. Then I'd create a have a new Sent folder (and eventually a new Inbox) that I can start filling up again with new stuff.
The other thing would be to just increase the four gig limit for both the Sent and Inbox folders.
Is there an easy way to do this?

Compacting is deleting messages marked for deletion. It has nothing to do with trying to squeeze out just a little more space in an already full folder.
Here are some good articles that you could probably benefit from reading.

You could also create folders under Local Folders and move the older message there.

  • Sent emails folder its a mess

I don't quite understand what you've posted. Have you cancelled your Gmail account?
If you've just connected Mail to Gmail, and you've used IMAP to connect to it, you'll probably have an "All Mail" mailbox towards the bottom left of the screen (under the GMail mailbox). In there should be a Sent Mail box. All your Sent mail should be in there. To have it appear in the Sent mailbox at the top left of your screen, highlight Gmail's Sent Mail mailbox, click the Mailbox menu at the very top of your screen, and click "Use this Mailbox for - Sent".

  • ICloud is making sent email disappear, why?

    Hello folks,
I've been having problems with iCloud. Every now and then when I send an email off to a recipient, there will not be a copy in the sent emails folder nor can I scroll up in the messages screen to see my sent email.
This only happens on iCloud. I have a Gmail a/c on Mail.app too and no problems there.
    What's going on?
    Best,
    LA.

I'm having the same issue.  Every now and then, my sent e-mail does not appear in the Sent folder.  It happened again this evening, of course I was sending an important e-mail to a lawyer and now I'm not sure if he received it or not.  I'm waiting for Apple Support to contact me tomorrow.  I did contact them about a month or so about this issue but I was disconnected so I never did get a response.

  • Sent email from Entourage not showing up on iCloud Web client

When I send email from Entourage (using smtp.mail.me.com), the sent email shows up in my Entourage sent email folder, but not on iCloud on the Web. This means I have no access to sent messages using my iPhone. Can anyone help?

  • Gmail mail in iCloud sent folder

Hi, I just set up my mail on my new mac but for some reason all my Gmail sent mail is also in my iCloud sent mail folder, its also like this when I acess my mail through the iCloud website, how do I fix this ?

At a guess you have configured the Mail app so that GMail uses the iCloud outgoing server, check your smtp settings in Mail.

  • 'Sent' folder not showing sent emails from shared account.

I have access to my manager's Outlook Office 365 email account with "Owner" rights. The items in the "Inbox" all show up fine, however, none of the emails my manager answers or sends show up in the "Sent" folder on my pc.
Is there a way I can view the emails contained in his "Sent" emails folder from my pc?

It sounds like your manager has delegated you right to only his inbox folder.  If you need full access, there is a setting on his mailbox to provide full access to his mailbox which would allow you to see the full folder structure.
This is essentially Exchange 2013 running in office 365 so I will do my best to explain what to do without having access to O365.
Navigate to the Exchange Admin Center, find Recipients and your manager's name. Click Edit (pencil icon) on your manager's name and click the "mailbox delegation" menu on the left side of the window. Scroll down to the very bottom where it says Full Access
    and add your name there.
Within 15 minutes, and probably closing and re-opening Outlook client, your manager's mailbox should appear as a second mailbox in your outlook profile automatically.
    Thanks,

  • 1 of my 4 pop accounts is not saving sent mail to sent mail folder all the other are

When I send an email 3/4 of the accounts save the sent email to the sent email folder. 1 account sends the email out but does not save it??? I have updated to the latest version, I have checked that the location where it saves email is the same setting as all other accounts. Please help

I have 3 pop3 accounts and 1 imap. 1 of the pop accounts is not showing the sent email in the unified sent email folder. The one which is not showing sent email has the same outgoing mail server as one of the other accounts which is showing so i dont think it has anything to do with the email provider
