ICloud "sent" folder problem on iPhone 5

I have set up an icloud mail on iphone5, same account as in mac.
My mac doesnt have any problem to show all the "sent" mail, not even in the icloud.com, all the mails on "sent" folder are all shown.
BUT on my iPhone, it doesnt show all, some of them are missed on the list, but when I make a search, the email is there.
I have restored, erased the whole phone, set up a new phone, but it doesnt work.

What is the message, if any, you're reiciving during the backup? How much content are you trying to backup? Just because you have 4GB of icloud storage doesn't mean that your not exceding that with your attempted backup.

  • Duplicate emails in iCloud sent folder

I'm having an issue that when I send email from my icloud.com account, I'm ending up with duplicates in the "sent" folder.  There have been some other threads on this, but I'm not seeing any answers.   Does anyone else have this problem?   Apple, if you see this, please advise.
I'm running a PC and generally use Firefox.

OK, so others are having this problem.  Hopefully if there are Apple techs scanning these forums something will be done about it.   Here are a couple of other threads which I've posted on:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22382205#22382205
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5146256?start=0&tstart=0
It does not seem to happen on my iPhone, and it does not happen every single time on my PC, but it happens most times.   The person the email is being sent to does not receive two emails, they only receive one.   It seems to be just the senders folder that is affected.
I also visited the Apple Store.  The young man who helped me was very nice and competent, but he too was thrown for a loop and had never encountered this issue before.

  • Messages sent on device do not show up on Mac in ICloud Sent folder - Why?

When I send a message on my IPad, it shows up on the Cloud, but does not appear in my Sent folder in Mail on my Mac ICloud mail account

Joelrsny had the much easier fix:
For Sent folder not showing on the iPhone.
ALL of these ways work to add a Gmail account to the iPhone. Its not how you add it, its the settings in Gmail causing these folders not to appear.
Do not add the account to the iPhone first. Go to Gmail.com in a browser, log in to your email account and hit settings at the top right.... Select the Labels Tab at the top. On the right, you will see check boxes. Check all the folders you want to appear in imap accounts. Once you check them, go and add the account by just picking add Gmail account on your iphone settings for mail. ALL the folders you checked will appear...
    Done!

  • ICloud Sent Folder

I "sent" 3 large emails yesterday, but do not see them in my "sent" folder ~ short of calling the individuals, is there some way I can confirm it they were received/sent? They are resumes ~ please help!

If they were my resumes, I would be calling to check on them. I would worry about the mail problems later.

  • Gmail mail in iCloud sent folder

Hi, I just set up my mail on my new mac but for some reason all my Gmail sent mail is also in my iCloud sent mail folder, its also like this when I acess my mail through the iCloud website, how do I fix this ?
    - thanks

At a guess you have configured the Mail app so that GMail uses the iCloud outgoing server, check your smtp settings in Mail.

  • How do I access the iCloud Preview folder from my iPhone?

Just a simple how to question.  PDF files are what I want to be able to view, since my Mac insists on defaulting to the iCloud Preview folder, I assume there must be a  corresponding way to read them on iDevices...

Yea, a number of people have wondered why there isn't a general iCloud Drive app that would allow you to see all the documents and launch a compatible app on your device to view them.  Perhaps that will be added in the future.  If you would like to see this changed, you can let Apple know here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.

  • Is it possible to see the iCloud Drive folder from my iPhone?

    Hello,
Is it possible to see the iCloud drive folder on iOS 8 just as it is in iCloud and my Mac?
Lets say something like the following:
    ios-8-icloud-drive.png

Well you can consider this as well:
Considering or moving right now to iCloud Drive? Please check the following facts to avoid my terrible experience:
First of all it is not as easy as Apple Says: "Store your files in iCloud and access all them anytime on all your devices" - Lies.
    1) There is no standalone app for iCloud drive on iOS so you will not be able to access all your files from your iDevices only the ones you created with iWork.
    2) Even if you upgrade your space to 1 or 2 TB you will have storage limitation because you can upload what you Mac can storage, in a few words it is a mirror not an online hards disk.
    3) NO photos nor  videos in  iCloud, it doesn't matter how space you get you will not have access to them on the web, and not date has been confirmed for this promised feature.
    4) You will get many dumb folders in the iCloud drive even dumb iWork copies of your documents.
    5) Many unexpected errors will be waiting for your data, like the one I got when all my local copies of all my files ( any type) just disappeared and got a simple icon with the message Not Downloaded like if there were not before in the Mac. Apple open a ticket for this issue after many hours int he phone.
    6) Apple support is not well trained to handle issues related to the new services like this, you can call and ask simple questions and will be on hold a lot of time to while they figure out what to tell you. Try it.
    7) At the end you will cancel the service and go back to your previos cloud service ( just like me with Dropbox) and uploading all your files to it.
    8) If need more reasons just let me know and I will give you more to convince you that iCloud Drive will "drive you mad".

  • Sent messages problem in iphone

I am not seeing any sent messages in the sent tab in mail on the iPhone. I am using ios 7.1.1
I am presuming there is a setting I don't see. I am not sure when it started but some time ago. Previously I was seeing sent messsages.
I am also having problems deleting incomine emails. When I try I get a message that mail is unable to move messages to trash.

Those message usually indicates, that your in an area with a weak wifi or cellular data signal.  I speak from experience as this is the only I see that message pop up on my phone.

  • Mails sent on my iPhone isn't shown in the sent folder

Whenever I send an email it does not show up in the sent folder on my iPhone or on my Mac when I sync. Why could this be?
It works just fine, I recieve mails and I'm able to reply and all that. I just can't see them in the sent folder which is annoying.
    Hope you can help me

I think figured it out. The original problem was that Mail.app was not using Gmail's smtp server. In the account preferences in Mail I have checked the box which says: 'Only use this server' under the pop-up list which has Gmail's smtp server selected. But examining the full headers of emails sent via supposedly different smtp servers (via different email addresses with all have that 'Only use this server' checked) and emails sent via Gmail's web interface gave me the strong indication that Mail.app is not using Google's smtp server.
Lo and behold, once I switched between my corporate network and a cellular-modem based one which caused Mail to fail to reach the smtp server (inside my corporate network only my corporate smtp server works and outside every smtp server except the corporate one works) and therefore brought up a dialogue which allowed me to choose the smtp server and I selected Gmail's smtp server, my sent messages showed up in Gmail's sent folder.
Even better, after restoring my iPhone (syncing wasn't doing the trick), emails sent from my Gmail account on the iPhone show up in Gmail's sent folder (and Gmail's sent folder also shows up on the iPhone).
As usual, if you for your life's sake cannot figure something out, most likely something you consider a fact is actually not the true. I was assuming that Mail was using Gmail's smtp server, that is what I told Mail to do. But apparently, once Mail fails to reach an smtp server and you tell Mail to use another it continues to use this alternative server forever until it fails to reach this one and ask you again (and that is the only way to reset it). And more importantly this alternative smtp server gets carried over to the iPhone. Even more sneakily, if you check the smtp server setting on the iPhone it still reads the 'correct' one but it is using in fact another one (visible from the full headers of the received email).
Getting Mail to use the correct smtp servers is its own pain in the butt. And after the umpteenth restore with everything working now, I now unchecked the option to sync mail accounts (since I keep switching networks on my Mac, I'm sure to end up with the wrong smtp servers associated with my email accounts).

  • Emails sent from iphone don't show up in sent folder.

For some reason any emails I send from my iphone don't go into my sent folder. It has become a pain. I sometimes use my phone to send business emails and I'm not always  sure if they have even sent and don't have a record of them.
The emails I send from my computer are in the 'Sent' folder on my computer and my iphone. It's only the emails that I send from my iphone that aren't in my 'Sent' folder on the iphone or the computer.
Server settings are the same as on my computer. It's just like my iphone doesn't save the sent emails.
    Please help!
    Steph

    Hello Sswilkins,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    iCloud: My Photo Stream troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989
Ensure that the Camera app is closed on the device that took the photo. Photos will not upload from an iOS device to My Photo Stream until the Camera app is closed.
    Best of luck,

  • My sent mail isn't showing I sent folder on iPhone and ipad

Why isn't my sent mail appearing in the sent folder on my iPhone and ipad.

Are you using Apple's mail app or another mail app?

  • Sent folder not working consistently

Last night, I sent an e-mail containing attachments from my iCloud account using Apple Mail on my Mac. The message got sent and it got saved to my Mac's sent folder.  I also sent a few other e-mails, and they also got sent and saved in my sent folder.
Today, when I went to check my sent folder on my iPhone and on iCloud.com, all my sent messages were there except for the one I was looking for, which had the attachments.
I have had this happen several times before - where random sent messages do not get saved to the Sent folder on iCloud.com or to my other devices.  Can someone help me resolve this issue? It is really frustrating when I can't find critical e-mails that I have sent because they don't appear in my sent folder.
    Thanks,
    N

    Hi Guys
There is a way to fix this fully.
I wrecked my brains for a while and even switched to Outlook as I managed to get that to work.
Then I hit on the way yo make the Apple Mail application work as well.
The above comments are right you will find different folders in Mail that are used for saving your sent e-mails, and these will be different between what you see on your IMAP web mail when you log in via a browser / iPad / using Mail. (I am connecting to Yahoo mail)
Easy solution. In the Mail application on your MacBook, select the folder called "Sent" in your IMAP / Yahoo mailbox area (I no longer have it there in example below), then got to:
Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For > Sent
....and hey presto that will set it to be the same mailbox as in your web IMAP account / iPad / iPhone
Hopefully this will save you wasting a whole day on this......which is what I did
    All the best
    Rory

  • Apple Mail - Unread Spam Messages/ Inbox and Sent Folder

Fellow apple users ... I recently upgraded from Windows to iMac, what is amazing (but could not afford it until now). I love it, but ... I do have a few problems:
1/ I have two IMAP email account. My problem is that the Spam and Junk are being treated as New, Unread Messages. I really do not care about these and would like to see a notification only for mail which comes to my Inbox. Any ideas how this could be done ? I am sure there might be an easy setting ... if not then just setting up a Rule?!
2/ Probably this is a feature of Mail, but I would like to disable it. The INBOX, SEND and DRAFT are being showed in different tabs (e.g. I need to press 'show' 'hide'). I would like to have Inbox, sent draft under each account and not separate. How can I disable this?
3/ Sent messages. Since I am using IMAP I should have a copy of my sent messages in the 'sent' folder but the iMac sent messages do not appear sent folder on my iPhone. I checked if the messages are being saved in the same imap folder and it does look like they are ... so not sure?!
    Any ideas reply is welcome.
    Regards,
    Siki

    Hi Ernie,
Thank you for your reply and explination.
1/ Yes, the instructions did help. It was obvious, but I haven't ever used Mac's. They are the best, but switching over it's not the easiest.
2/ Have been thinking about changing to another mail client because of this (Thunderbird). Usually everything with iOS X makes sense, but having the MAILBOXES option and sub-structure (Inbox, Flagged, Drafts, Sent, Junk, Trash) is beyond me at the moment (a lightbulb might go off in the future ...)
3/ Not sure why, but now everything is working fine. Could be becuase of the update to iOS 6.

  • How to see a sent folder on iPad?

    Hi all,
I cannot seem to figure out how to get a Sent folder in my iPad mail.  I have a sent folder on my iPhone, and have looked at the settings on both and they seem to be exactly the same, but on my iPad, there is no Sent, Trash, Draft, etc.  What gives???

Where are you looking for these?
In the mail App if you tap the back arrow with the name of the account you are currently in at the top of the mail list pane, it should get you back to the configured Mail accounts list. The bottom part of that pane, should have you account mailboxes you can tap on those to get the folder structure for your mail.

  • Sent mail folder not syncing iPhone/Mac

    Hello,
I have the problem, that my Email account (icloud IMAP) is not syncing the sent folder. I can only see sent emails on my iPhone that I actually sent with my iPhone. The same on my Mac. All settings seem to be just fine and everything else works pretty well.
    Any ideas?

    It's been solved already: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18907234#18907234
