ICloud setup

Hi.
I recently had to change the email address associated with iCloud. All is well on apple website, but when I open up my iCloud window, 'account details' is shsowing the wrong email address and won't let me change anywhere but in iCloud setup, which is already changed.  I want to add something to my iCloud account but I cannot because it's not recognizing my old email address. Help!

I understand that. The problem is that my iCloud preference window reflects the old email address with no option to change it to the old one. In iCloud Sys Preferences: The  apple ID that the window pulls up is my old email.  When I click on "Manage Apple ID" it takes me to apple site, where my apple ID is correct as melissaweir1 [at] gmail [dot] com. See window below: Thanks.

In iCloud setup my apple I'd is not accepting. Getting error message it should be  an email I'd, but my my apple Id is just in user I'd form? Please support.

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. I checked, and at least one other user is having the same issue. I'll attempt to copy/paste the Support request url: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4430653?tstart=0
Thank you for any help you can give.

  • HT4137 iCloud setup with one Apple ID and multiple devices

iCloud setup with one Apple ID and multiple devices

What, exactly, are you trying to do? You can use the same iCloud account on as many devices as you want, as long as you don't turn on iTunes Match. Once you turn on Match, you're limited to 10 devices total.
Is this what you want to do...same iCloud account, but different iTunes/App store accounts on each device? If so, you can do that also.

This has been posted for almost 2 weeks and not one reply. Thanks a bunch! As a newbie to OOo and Mozilla, I am not impressed with responsiveness to support needs with either. So, the future of my new experiment with going non-Microsoft remains an open question.
Oddly enough, the problem mysteriously went away. I have followed the same routine and changed no settings. Suddenly all of the downloaded spreadsheets were no longer read-only. So I consider the matter resolved.

  • ICloud Setup on Mac post Mavericks upgrade results in endless do loop

    iCloud Problems
So you open Internet Accounts - and delete from internet accounts [email protected] (can’t logout)
    The dreaded account is gone……..
So now back to System preferences and into the iCloud icon to set User [kaiserja] as default iCloud account and cure the ills of the world.
You go back to internet accounts and get —
Ahhhh grasshopper, we have endless do loop here.  Has wasted phenomenal amounts of time.  Fortunately, gmail works so I can send and get mail, as do my iPhone, iPad and Exchange accounts.  Think I’m going to need to switch personal mail to gmail after investing nearly 12 hours in attempting to set up an apple mail client in OSX Mavericks.
Is there a fix for this or is this just another open bug unresolved?

Rebuilding in this system, so when trying to sign in to iCloud to set up
Proper data entered and the window goes away but nothing happens
Conclude issue is with iCloud setup, so to system preferences and iCloud we go
From there we get sent to internet accounts, after clicking internet accounts, we see the screen below and delete the inactive [email protected]
(BTW have no idea what inactive means.  account functions on iPhone, iPad and iCloud over safari)
After deleting the offending user account, we see
All gone so all should be golden, no?  So returning to iCloud set up, we get
and opening Internet accounts and entering our apple id leads us back to here....
an obvious and not very helpful statement as I use this account on multiple devices, but just deleted it from here.
Ahhhh grasshopper, we have endless do loop here.  Assuming it is keychain related, so I reset my login keychain.  Lather, rinse, repeat just like shampoo instructions same errors over an over again.

  • I followed all of the steps to iCloud setup on PC and Photo Stream does not work

I have a Windows 7 PC, and an iphone 4.  I upgraded to IOS 5 and did the iCloud setup with the download Control Panel app and set it up.  However, when i take a photo with my iphone, the photo goes to my camera roll and does not go to my photo stream and there fore not to my PC photo stream folder on my PC.
So far Photo Stream does nothing.  Also, Are we supposed to be able to see our photo stream if we login to iCloud?  When logged in to iCloud, I see my contacts and mail and other stuff bu no Photo Stream.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Jay Abbott

I figured out the answer to my question.  Photo Stream will not sync unless your iphone is connected via Wi-Fi.  Now I have to go find a Wi-Fi network to see if I am correct.  I read the maunal, wow, what a concept.
I hope this helps others who don't read the manual but complain on the forums!

  • HT204053 I skipped icloud setup when ipad was new.So I did it on my PC. How do I log into it now from my ipad?

I got my ipad2 a year ago. They either didn't have the cloud or it was new so I skipped setup.  When it became
More common or understood, I got it on my PC because my mind was stuck back in iPod world where you
Had to have a home computer as your sync tool.  So I setup icloud on my PC.  I can see icloud in my ipad
Settings but I don't know how to login to it.  When I type icloud.com the screen says install icloud... I click it and it
Just takes me to the apple site where it tells about setup, but there's no actual setup button just more reading.
I think I need to login to the icloud so that I can invite my family members to share my calendar.
I hope someone can help me. Thank you

Are you sure you set up an iCloud account on your PC?  You can only do that on a Mac or an iOS device such as your iPad.
If you do already have an iCloud account, go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and enter the ID you used to set up the iCloud account.  If you don't have one, enter your Apple ID to create one.  Then turn on your data syncing in Settings>iCloud and when prompted be sure to tap Merge to upload the data from your iPad to your iCloud account.  This article gives an overview of this process: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html.
Also, you can't go to icloud.com on your iPad.  You have to do that from your computer.  There you can sign into your iCloud account and see your data.

  • Calendars do not merge on iCloud setup

I had  to logout iCloud on my macbook pro to un lock my Apple Id password. When I logged back in and checked Calendars on iCloud setup on my macbook Pro to merge with iCloud it would not do so. Everything else, contacts, reminders, etc was ok. How can I merge my calendars with iCloud? It  always merged in the past.

I suspect you mean sync rather than merge.
    Please try the following...
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Icloud setup email

how long does it take to get a verification email sent to you in order to confirm your new icloud setup?

I believe I read that it can take up to two days (but usually happens much faster).  They are experiencing some icloud server issues right now though; not sure if that would effect iCloud accout setup/verification emails or not (see http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/).

    Hi petro_jemes,
Just a little claritification, you need to add the value to the variable "[string]$ou", and also change the language in the variable "$emailbody" in the function "Get-ADUserPasswordExpirationDate".
    I hope this helps.

  • Family share says I need to complete iCloud setup, what did I miss?

Family share says I need to complete iCloud setup, what did I miss?

Welcome to the Apple Community Siobhan.
    Please try the following...
Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (This removes your data from your device, but not from your account, it will be added back later).
    Restart the device.
Sign in again (Settings > iCloud, don't use the 'Create New Apple ID' button).

  • Multiple devices, family sharing...iCloud setup

I've so far avoided iCloud because it is very confusing to me. I've read loads of threads, and comprehending it all is still eluding me. Let me explain my setup, what I want to do, and how I'm proposing to do it.
    My Setup:
    5 family members (including myself)
    4 iPhones (2 4S, 1 4 and 1 3S) all with iOS5
    2 iPod Touches with iOS5
1 MBP running Lion with accounts for each family member.
    1 Mini running Lion
3 XP machines, each with accounts for each family member.
The Mini is our "media" computer connected to our TV. It's connected to a network drive which stores all our media, music, books and apps, including everyone's photos via iPhoto.
    My Goal:
Everyone's photos taken by iPhones/iPods on 1 Photostream accessible by the Mini for viewing/storage.
    Everyone with their own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/etc.
Shared iTunes content, again synced with iTunes on Mini
    My Thoughts:
If I am understanding what I've read, I can create an iCloud account which has to be the primary account on all the iPhones/iPods. Then go into Settings on each iOS device and turn off everything I don't want sync'd (Mail, Calendars, Contacts, etc.).
Then for each iPhone/iPod, create an individual iCloud account for each family member, turning on what they want synced on both their iOS device and in their iCloud settings in their accounts on their computers.
For iTunes content sharing, we just keep doing what we've been doing, using the shared iTunes account we already have.
    My Questions/Concerns:
It looks like this will necessitate having 6 iCloud accounts, which I guess will work since we have that many devices; but I'm curious how others could handle a setup like this if they only had 1 device per person?
After all this is set up, could I then have an additional calendar added in somehow which the family uses for adding shared events?
So, does this sound right? Am I missing something?
    Thanks!

    Hi all..
I hope you don't mind me chiming in here, but I see this as a major flaw in the move from MobileMe to iCloud.
Roderick, based on what your requirements are, this sounds like a viable solution.
Here's the spanner in the works:
Q: Can you have more than 1 iCloud account on each iOS device?
Everything I have found so far points to "No".
If you can't, and you all want to sync "common" contacts, iCal events & numbers/pages stuff, then you have to use 1 common iCloud account. But you will not be able to FaceTime or iMessage each other!
    Is my assumption here correct?
I have a MobileMe family pack with 5 me.com addresses.  I have kept the "main" one from migrating, so we currently keep all our contacts & calendars synced with that "main" account in MobileMe.
Simple solution for the time being, but what happens in June 2012 when MobileMe is retired?
    Frustrated-dot-com!!
