ICloud Sign out Prevention

I have Question or rather Suggestion for Apple about IOS devices.
If apple could introduce one more security Step to prevent signing out from iCloud or disabling the location finder, it could be great help to recover lost device. the Reason IF one have Free account and some times iOS device is used by kids who actually know the login and password but there could be sort of PIN code or admin password which should have been required if the used want to sigh out of iCloud or disable the location services, and if that PIN is not provided it should prevent disabling the location service and iCloud sign out, similarly when erasing iOS device after asking the login and password before proceeding for complete phone erase it should ask for PIN authentication which is set separately like passcode of device.

Hi Paul,
In order to sign out of your Apple ID on your iPad, follow the steps in this article -
iTunes Store settings - iPhone
If you are using iCloud, you will also want to go into Settings > iCloud > select Sign Out, the last item on the page.

  • ICloud sign/out error

Original email used as Apple ID was hacked so I deleted the email account (original email address has now been restored) and created a new one which I updated in iTunes, iMessage etc. iCloud however wont let me log into or out of the account and keeps prompting to enter the password on multiple devices which isn't working for the old or new Apple ID.
I've tried to reset the password on the old ID but according it is not showing up as ever existing.

You can change it to your current ID by doing the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • Icloud sign out on my ipad

Someone else is signed into icloud on my ipad.  It won't let me sign them out because "Find My Ipad" is turned on.  It keeps asking me to put in the password of the icloud account to sign out.   I do not have it, and can not get it.  How can I sign out?

You have no recoursE unless you can get the other party to sign out.
INcidentally, it would appear that the other party changed the password.

  • ICloud sign out question

I am currently in my ICloud account and want to sign off. However, when I click the sign out button, I get a message "If you stop using Icloud for calendars and reminders, calendars and reminders stored in icloud will be deleted from this mac". Calenders and reminders are checked. I get the same message for documents and data. What am I not understanding?

Think of it as being like webmail: when you sign out from webmail nothing happens to the emails and they are still there when you next sign in. Same thing, handled in a slightly different way, with the iCloud data.

  • How to reset iCloud sign in

My wife's new iPhone - yes I messed it up--asks for her to sign in to iCloud but it gives my email not hers. How do I reset her iCloud ID?

You go to Settings > iCloud, sign out of your Apple ID, then she signs in with her Apple ID.

I Need to change a new Apple id on the iPad but I can't sign out the old one because I forgot the password and the security question.

Yes, you can just log out of iCloud on the mini (Settings>iCloud> Sign out) and nothing will be affected as long as the iPad is not restored from any backup after that. Though if you're giving her the iPad I would highly recommend moving the pictures to your iPad (via this page) so that the mini can be reset and set up under your daughters ID to avoid Activation Lock in the future.

  • How do you sign out of your old apple id if your old id is no longer valid?

My old Apple id is no longer valid as the email I used has been discontinued by the service provider. I now use a new apple id to log onto my devices and FaceTime but unable to do the same for iCloud. It keeps asking for my old Apple id password which a) I have forgotten and b) i can no longer retrieve given as the old Apple id is invalid.
    What do i do?

If I have [email protected] (not my email nor Apple ID), & get rid of comcast so I no longer have access to the email, I log into appleid.apple.com  & rename it to [email protected] (not my email nor Apple ID). If I've forgotten to sign out of iCloud on my iDevices, all I have to do is log into appleid.apple.com  with [email protected], rename my Apple ID to  [email protected] (skip verifying) go to settings then iCloud & sign out (It will be your current password incase you didn't know...) it will allow you to do so..
If I on the other hand, create a NEW Apple ID & not rename it, best options to call apple & have them assist with trying to reset password so you can sign out.
It isnt made clear to me in his question. (In my opinion) He does say "my new Apple ID" but people can call their newly renamed emails/ Apple IDs, their new Apple ID..

  • How do I sign out of iCloud just on one device? And will deleting my account on iCloud completely delete the account or just on this one device?

Grey as If I can't change it.

That means the Restriction is set that prevents changing accounts. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and unset it so you can delete the account.

  • How do I sign out of an unknown icloud account on my iphone 5?

My iphone recognizes my current apple id, but I can't restore my phone due to Find My Iphone being on. I can't turn Find My Iphone off because the icloud account listed is not mine (different from my current apple id), and is preventing my from accessing icloud at all. The icloud account listed was an old account of mine, that i lost all information/access to (completely). Is there any way of signing out of this unknown icloud account without a password?

You need to either contact Apple's Account Security team, or if you're the device's original owner, ask Apple to unlock it.

  • I bought a used iPod and they were previously signed onto their iCloud. I have been wanting to change it but I have not been able to sign out of the previous account because I cannot sign out of "Find My iPod Touch". How am I able to log that off?

I bought a used iPod and they were previously signed onto their iCloud account. I have been wanting to change it but I have not been able to sign out of the previous account because I cannot sign out of "Find My iPod Touch" due to not knowing the password. How am I able to shut that off and log into my own account?

You can't.  This is a security feature to prevent the resale of stolen iOS devices.  You need to contact the seller and have him/her remove it from their iCloud account.  Or return and get your money back.  See: Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

  • My photos have stopped showing up on my pc from my iPhone.  They do still show up on my iPad.  I have signed out of iCloud on my pc and then signed in, but that didn't help.  Very puzzling.  Any help?

My iphone photos have stopped showing up in my photo stream folder on my pc.  They do show up on my iPad.  I tried signing out and back into to iCloud on my pc, but no help.  Any ideas?

The iCloud backup only backs up your camera roll photos, not photo stream photos.  Also, photos only remain in photo stream for 30 days.  After that they are removed from your photo stream, but will remain on your devices that already have them.  If all your photo stream photos are older than 30 days, that would explain why they don't stream to your iPhone 5 even though they are on your iPad.
To get them on your phone, you can use an app like PhotoSync, which will wirelessly transfer photos from any album (including photo stream) between your devices.  Alternatively, you can save the photo stream photos to the camera roll on your iPad (by opening the My Photo Stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), put them in a folder, then select the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync them to your phone.

  • I have changed my apple ID but cannot get my Mac computer to change it on iCloud.  I have signed out but do not know how to sign back in with my new id.

I have successfully changed my apple ID and password, but cannot get my Mac computer to change it on iCloud.  I have accessed system preferences, iCloud and sign out.  But now I do not know how to sign in using my new id and password.  I would like iCloud to work on my Mac so that it will sync to my iPhone and iPad.  I have installed all of the latest software.  How do I change this account on my Mac?

Do you have your Mac backed up?
If not, you should use Time Machine to back up your Mac to an external hard drive just "in case".
But if all you did was change your existing ID, then deleting the Calendar infomation from the Mac when you sign out should not be an issue. Since it is the same Apple ID, it is the same iCloud account (just with a different name), so your Contacts, Calendars, etc. are stored in iCloud. When you sign back in, you will have the option to sync Contacts, Calendars, Notes, etc. with iCloud - it should already be checked. Just sign back in, and your iCloud info will re-download to your Mac.
I just tried this, and all of my stuff showed up when I signed back in. Notes took a couple of seconds to load once I opened them, but they are all there.
Note: If you are signing on with a brand new Apple ID, then nothing will be downloaded because it will be an entirely different iCloud account. But if it is the same Apple/iCloud/iTunes ID with just a new email, then it will all be restored.
    Cheers,

  • Trying to change my iCloud apple ID to match my iTunes. Unlike previous question, my iCloud account does not even exist anymore, so I'm not able to sign OUT of it on my phone. I'm stuck because I can't sign in or out of it.

A while back I changed the login that I use for my account. For some reason when I got my new iPhone, iCloud decided to log me in using the older email account. Since it doesn't technically exist anymore, I can't use it to sign into my phone. But I keep getting popups on my phone every minute asking me to log in with my (now non-existant) iCloud account. I'd like to be able to sign out of that iCloud account and sign in with the same email address that I use for my iTunes account. However, I can't even log out of my iCloud account on my phone because signing out requires a password also! What to do?

    Hello florabb,
You may be able to change or reset the password on this old iCloud/Apple ID account, even if you no longer have access to the email address associated with it. Once the password is changed/updated, you should be able to log your iPhone out of the old iCloud/Apple ID account and log in to the correct new account. You may find the information and steps outlined in the following articles helpful:

If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support

There is no way if Find my iPhone is turned on. You must know the Apple ID and password. This is Activation Lock, an antitheft feature of iOS 7. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5818
