ICloud sync: Contacts are not syncing from Mac to iCloud, other services OK.

Notes and calendar data are syncing fine. Syncing between iPhone and iCloud on all 3 appears to work fine. I have toggled syncing through the control panel; did not help.

Go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts, restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in.  (This deletes the account and iCloud data from your Mac, but not from iCloud.  Your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)

  • Contacts are not syncing from Mac to iPhone

iCloud Contacts are not syncing if created on my macbook. But if created on iOS they sync.  Have no clue on this one.

It took me awhile to figure out what is actually happening here, even though it seems obvious now. Unfortunately I can find no way to do what I need.
On MacBook Pro Contacts, over on left page, at top left it says "All Contacts", under that "On my Mac", under that ""iCloud". I have figured out that "On My Mac" contacts are separate from "iCloud" contacts (seems obvious). The contacts in "iCould" are the only ones which sync with your iOS devices.
Unfortunately, when I add contacts through Mail (my usual procedure), they are only added to the "On My Mac" set. I can find no way to have them automatically add to the "iCloud" set of contacts instead of the "On My Mac" set. I cannot figure out how to get these contacts in the "On My Mac" set to sync to iCloud without some very fancy and complicated exporting, deleting, importing ALL contacts, and it is a lot easier just to type the contact info into a new card in the "iCloud" contact set.
Does anyone know of some setting to allow me to use iCloud exclusivly? That's why I want iCloud and Mac, to work together.

  • My contacts are not syncing from icloud to my pc and iphone

Though my iphone has all my contacts listed only of few of those contacts show in my icloud contacts and my outlook contacts.  Can anyone help me to fix this problem?  I thank you, in advance, for your assistance.

Just to confirm, if you go to https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your appleID and password, do you see all of your iphone contacts in the icloud?  Also, on your iphone settings, under iCloud you have iCloud setup to synch your 'contacts' set to 'on'?  Make sure you are running the latest apple iOS too under General/Software Update (5.0.1).  If you use iTunes to synch info with your phone, I would disable 'synch contacts with outlook' as it's not required any longer. When your phone is plugged into the PC, you will notice that setting by clicking on your phone under 'devices' on left and then going to the 'info' tab at the top, first setting.
I have Outlook 2007, in the left sidepane, you should see a "contacts" button, select it. Up at the top on the left side you should see "My Contacts" where your old outlook contacts are stored (the default contacts) and now below that you should see "contacts in iCloud" where your iphone contacts were synched to Outlook.  Additionally, from the menu you can select Tools/Address Book..  There you should see all your contacts in the various address books. There is a drop down where you can select a particular address book, such as "iCloud" or the default "Contacts". These are two seperate address books, only one is synched to your phone/icloud.
Hope this helps.. frustrating these issues can become.

  • ICloud and iPhone contacts are not syncing, who knows how to fix it?

Hello, for some reason I can't sync all the content of my iphone in icloud.... I have tried many things (deleting all in my macbook, icloud, restarting my iphone, macbook) but I always get the same result.......
I see only 449 cards in icloud & adressbook on my mac of 456 cards in my iphone, if I create a new contact on my iphone it will never apear in icloud, however if I create a new contact in icloud I get it on my iphone and macbook.....
My Iphone 4S has iOS 5.0.1
    My macbook has Lion 10.7.2
    Please help me!

I'm having the same problem, I just updated to 5.0.1 from 5.0 and everything seems to work ok but contacts.
I've tried syncing from my macbook and nothing.
I also tried syncing from iCloud and nothing.
    Please help.

  • Contacts are not syncing to MobileMe, iPod or laptop

Tried syncing after the MobileMe switch, and my calendars and bookmarks updated fine, but my contacts did not. I could not get new and modified contacts from my MacPro to my MacBook or my iPod Touch, even after trying numerous times.
I tried resetting the data on MobileMe from my MacPro using "Reset Sync Data" from the Advanced option on the Sync tab in System Prefs, to no avail.
I then tried unregistering all computers, deleting the information for MobileMe, and resetting the Sync History in iSync itself, and starting from scratch and still nothing.
I have 314 cards in my Address book on my desktop but no matter how many times and what I've tried on syncing MobileMe, this is still what I see when I go to /contacts on www.me.com:
    "You have no contacts.
Click the 'New Contact' button in the toolbar or turn on Push on your iPhone or iPod touch and Sync on your Mac or PC. Learn more…"
Even more frustrating is now that I've reset everything to try to force the sync data to reset, my contacts are only on my MacPro, and not on my iPod or laptop at all anymore where I really need them.
(And now I notice that MobileMe is not updating changes I've made in iCal on the MacPro.)
Any help will prevent me from going insane, destroying property and injuring myself or others. Thanks!
(P.S.: Sync has always been a little flaky, so I'm posting this here as well as in the MobileMe forums in case it has to do with iSync and my system instead of MobileMe.)

Where is my address book - cannot access contacts - unable to sync address book from .mac to mobile me - are they all lost??????? I understand "they" are working on this? when will I have access to my contacts, etc? VERY FRUSTRATING - I have not memorized my contacts!!!!!!!

  • Calendar updates made in iCloud &/or iPhone are not syncing with Outlook 2010.

I have reinstalled software for iCloud & iTunes.  iOS 7.0.4 - iPhone.
The iCloud add-in is not visible in Outlook & doesn't download with software - any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

i had same problem. everything worked fine backing up iphone to macbook pro and Ical until IOS 5 upgrade, then selective entries on Iphone wouldn't backup to Ical despite repeated attempts. I did what you did, turned off calander iCloud feature so it backs up only to MacBook and it seems to have solved problem.

  • Contacts did not transition from MobileMe to iCloud...now what?

Running Windows Vista and Windows Mail here.  Which I understand that in order to sync contacts with it requires Outlook on my computer.  That's ok at this point and is not crucial because I can always hard wire the iPhone to iTunes and sync with my computer  that way but my problem is that I cannot get my contacts onto iCloud!!!  When I transitioned from MM to iCloud all my contacts didn't transition.   There is only 1 contact showing in iCloud and that is the [email protected]  THAT'S ALL!  No other contacts are there.
How do I get my contacts that were on Mobile Me over to iClould now that MM is gone!

Go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts, restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in.  (This deletes the account and iCloud data from your Mac, but not from iCloud.  Your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)
