ICloud sync with Outlook issues

My problem is this:
I use Outlook 2013 and iCloud Control Panel ver. 3.0 (latest). The whole sync process completes fine but when I open Outlook I notice that not all folders/subfolders have been synced plus contacts have not been synced with pictures as in the past. I have re-done the process couple of times, every time deleting any previews Outlook data but without much luck. Any thoughts?

ok...
From experience, I can tell you the two calendars are both default calendars with iCloud. 'Work in Cloud' probably doesn't contain any of previous inputs because your iphone probably defaults to your regular calendar.
For me, I was able to get a good understanding by looking at the icloud calendar at icloud.com and the outlook calendar side by side. I recommend doing so, and playing around with things so you can figure out how they work.
With Outlook, you are going to have locally stored stuff (like Contacts), and your cloud-stored stuff (like Contacts in Cloud). That is why you are seeing two different sets of data. It looks like you dont have any locally stored contact, which is fine. All of your contacts are in iCloud (or...Contacts in Cloud), which should correlate to your iphone. again, it might be best to just pull up icloud.com, and put it side by side with outlook. it helped me get a good understanding of how it works.

  • How can I set up iCloud sync with Outlook 2007 using Hotmail account?

    Hi,
I installed iCloud PC control panel. I tried to sync my contacts and calendars from Outlook (2007) to the cloud but I gets this message: "Add an e-mail account to Outlook Before setting up iCloud". I have an Hotmail account synced up into my Outlook via Outlook Connector. Can iCloud sync with Hotmail accounts?
What should I do to get my calendars and contacts synchronize to the cloud. Does Outlook 2007 can be synced by the cloud too?
How can I set up iCloud sync with Outlook 2007 using Hotmail account?

I found a way to fix this, it did the trick for me:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3109623
All you have to do is include a new e-mail account [email protected] (set it as a default) on Outlook with the options that are showed in the thread I linked and you should have the calendars and tasks syncronised. It works perfectly with ipod touch, ipad and Outlook 2010 on windows 7.

  • ICloud sync with Outlook deleted recent and upcoming appointments

I recently decided to enable iCloud Sync on my iPhone, and more recently I also enabled it on Outlook.  It had been a while since I synced my phone to my computer, but the result ended up being that when I enabled iCloud Sync in Outlook, it deleted all appointments I had scheduled since I last synced to my computer.
Is there any way to get these back?

  • Outlook 2003 old Data File can't be removed and can't set up up iCloud sync with Outlook

I had an issue with Google Calendar Sync after installing iCloud so I tried to remove my iCloud install.  When I go into Outlook 2003 it shows a Data File that exists with the iCloud name, but when I click on remove it comes back with "Äre You Sure....", I click yes and then an error states "The Requested Operation Failed." Then I try to click on the Settings Tab and I get the error "Än Unknown Error Occured, error code 0x8004011c".  The Open Folder tab is grayed out.  If I click on the E-mail tab, no iCloud email exists.  Hence something is lingering but I cannot get rid of it.
When I go into the iCloud Control Panel the Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Tasks with Outlook is not ticked.  If I try to tick it and then apply the changes, it goes through the set-up for a few seconds and then returns an error box entitled Outlook Setup for iCloud with an error message Outlook Setup Error with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it.  The options are "report", "try again" and "cancel" - all which are useless and don't do anything.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can remove this Data File that supposedly exists within Outlook.  I have searched the c: drive and there is nothing by the name it states.

Sorry...I have been looking at this for too long.  It is actually Outlook 2007.
I actually have already removed the calendar, tasks, etc from Outlook as your last paragraph outlines, but it doesn't help.
I have hoping to avoid the uninstall / reinstall, but I was leaning the same way.
Thanks for your response.  Let me know if you think of anything else.

  • Be aware:  iCloud sync with Outlook can mangle calendar.

Hey Apple, this is really unfriendly behavior!  Not warning of the irreversible changes that will be made in Outlook is irresponsible, to say the least. Syncing calendar data with iCloud does the following:
    1.  Creates a new calendar named "Calendar in iCloud".
    2.  Transfers all existing calendar data to the new calendar, removing it from the original calendar "Calendar".
    Why is this a problem?
    1.  "Calendar" is still the default calendar for new entries and it is not synced.
    2.  Entries for "Calendar in iCloud" don't appear in the ToDo Bar.
    3.  If you accept an outlook invitation, it is created in "Calendar" so it is not synced.
    4. If you sync with Google Calendar from Outlook, as I do, the first sync will wipe out all Goole Calendar entries because it is syncing with "Calendar".
    5. I haven't found a way to reverse this mess.
    Thanks for the new features.

I also have the same issues regarding the poorly designed calendar integration and synch.  I now have two calendars, Outlook and iCloud.  iCloud doesn't see the Outlook calendar events automatically and copying them over to the iCloud calendar, resends invitations.  No apparent way to change default email account to work vs personal email.  Without this, Calendar invites get sent using personal account instead of business account. Very frustrating.  Pretty dumb to miss this obvious use case.
Like others have said the duplication of events is also a pain.  While the desktop synch required you to connect PC to phone, at least it worked without all these dumb issues.  I seriously considering returning to connected synch.  Very disappointing; not a real solution to keeping multiple devices in synch, in fact in many ways it makes it worse.

  • ICloud sync with Outlook 2007 on my Win 7 PC fails.

Outlook Connector is linked to my Hotmail account. The email still arrives every day, so I asume that this is OK.
iPhone 4S iCloud settings are: Contacts "On", Calendars "On", Reminders "On", Bookmarks "On". The Account is my Hotmail account. WiFi is "On" and it sees my home WiFi.
    I have iTunes set to:
"Back up to this computer", which I assume means my home PC.
Sync Contacts with Outlook is checked.
Sync Calendars with Outlook is checked.
Sync Notes with Outlook is checked.
The Home PC is a new HP 64 bit running a Windows 7 OS.
iCloud fails when connected. An error message appears: "Outlook DAV Config is not responding".
I have removed Windows Mobile Devices from the PC.
How do I get this iPhone 4S to sync with my home office PC?

Maybe you can try this way:

  • ICloud syncing with outlook mac

    Hi,
Has this been sorted out. I would like to be able to create or view a meeting or contact on my Mac(Outlook 2011), iphone, ipad or icloud(any computer) and have it automatically sync with the other devices in this list?
Can anyone point me to a solution or is this still not working.
    Cheers
    David

Microsoft have still not added support for the industry standard CalDAV and CardDAV protocols iCloud uses.
    See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2648915
The solution is to use the Apple provided Mac applications (Mail, Address Book and iCal) which are fully iCloud compatible and supported.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I am sorry to have to reference you to these materials:
KB12268 Synchronization support for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop/desktop-pc/system-requirements.html
You will notice that Outlook 2013 does not appear in any of that. Which means it is not supported. Which means it cannot be expected to function.
    Again, sorry.

  • IPhone quit syncing with Outlook after disabling iCloud

I have a new iPhone.  I hooked it up with a cable to my laptop running Win 7 and did a sync using iTunes with Outlook Pro Plus 2010.  Everything sync'd fine (calendar, contacts, notes).  I did several syncs.  I decided to try syncing with iCloud and so installed iCloud on the pc and turned sync on the phone.  It didn't do what I thought it would so I turned it off (selected off on the iphone and uninstalled iCloud off the laptop).  At this point, I said I did not want data from iCloud saved on my phone for calendar, but I think I said to save it for the other two apps.  I then noticed that I no longer had a "calendar" listed under my calendars (I still have some internet calendars I have linked to), but not the default calendar.  I can only save new items to one of the internet calendars.  There isn't a "add calendar" button on the phone to add more calendars on the phone - only to add calendars with outlook.com, exchange, gmail, etc.
I tried syncing to Outlook, but it will no longer sync.  It will sync notes and contacts fine (I tested both and it seems to be working fine).  I have tried closing and rebooting both pc and phone, uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling, resetting sync in itunes, setting sync to push data from the pc to the phone.  I turned iCloud sync on for calendar and then shut it back off...but this time, I told it to save the data on the phone.  The "calendar" saved from pc showed up on the phone.  However, it won't sync with Outlook.  In iTunes, it was showing two "calendars" with both selected.  I added a new calendar at that point on the phone called calendar.  I deleted the other calendars that iCloud added - but still no luck on syncing.  After deleting all the iCloud calendars and the added calendar, the two listings in iTunes went away (when syncing was working, there weren't any individual calendars listed in iTunes).
I think the issue is from 1 of 2 things: 1) something got messed up with they sync and it is trying to sync to a blank calendar in my outlook - not looking at the default calendar  (unlikely)  2) it can't sync with the phone because the default calendar no longer exists on the phone (likely).
Any ideas on how to recover the default calendar or how to fix the sync issue?  I have been trying to find all I can on the internet, but after troubleshooting for several hours, I am at a loss.
    Thanks

I figured out how to recover the calendar and get syncing again (or at least a work around), so thought I would post in case someone else has the issue.  To recover the calendar, you need to log out of all calendars on the iPhone and it will recreate the default calendar.  When you try to log back into another calendar, it will ask if you want to delete the default and warn that there may be duplicates by not deleting it.  Since it was blank, duplicates wasn't a concern.
To recover syncing again, I looked up where the sync files are stored.  I copied all folders that looked like they had anything to do with syncing to a temporary folder in case I had issues that I needed to recover from.  I then went in and deleted all the sync files I could find from the date I tried to use iCloud.  I also deleted the sync database which caused iTunes to not be able to sync correctly.  Next, I did a repair on iTunes.  When it came back up, it allowed me to reset everything up as if I hadn't sync'd the phone before.  It seems to now be working again.

  • ICloud not syncing with Outlook

I just installed Outlook on a new Windows 7 PC, after having already had iOS/icloud on my iPhone.  Ive set up the iCloud Control panel to sync with Outlook (Contacts & Calanders) and nothing at all...  Any ideas?

    here from bzpilot:
I have used the solution below to fix mine and others that have run into this issue.
Start --> Programs --> Accessories (Right Click on Command Prompt) --> Run as Administrator
then type in:  "Netsh winsock reset"  (-without the quotes-)
Hit enter, restart PC, iCloud For PC should now connect without any server errors
(This solutions will work in some instances when trying to fix errors associated when you are unable to connect to iTunes also.)
    [end of quotation]
Used it and the pass change and now i can sync the mail, hope it helps you as well.

  • My iphone calendar stopped syncing with outlook 7 thru the cloud. I clicked on tools, trust center, add ins. icloud add in had been disabled. I tried to re enable it but was told that this could only be done by administrator. I am the admin. Help????

My iphone calendar stopped syncing with outlook 7 thru the cloud. I clicked on outlook tools, trust center, add ins. I noted that icloud add in had been disabled. I tried to re enable it but got a message that this change could only be done by administrator. I am the administrator. Help???? Any ideas?

I do not believe this. I have been going nuts trying everything as in prior posts, and this has been a problem for users at least since 2010. I had this problem a long time ago and didn't pay too much attention to it because it was my iPad, and I depended on my BB a a base calander to feed Outlook. I became very concerned within the past week when I switched my BB to iPhone 5s, and was carrying both because I still needed to carry the BB for new calander enteries to sync up to Outlook 2007.
I had followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 and delete the apple s/w and re-installed. But according to the previous post, it appears that the issue was in the data - which was not deleted during all these deinstalls nor overridden with the new installs.
I am a XP user, so my files are in documents and settings/(username) both application data and \local settings\application data, but I also have safari and quicktime installed as well and didn't want to just blow entire high level folders if I didn't have to.
So I followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 then purged several apple folders in my windows profile and this definitely blew apple computer\preferences away. What I did was a little clumbsy, and desperate, but it worked. I am finally back in business.
However, I would like to see someone fine tune this and determine if it was just the preferences folder that needed to be deleted so that iTunes needed to rebuild it, or if there were other filoes that were apparently corrupted away, just to get this to the minimum number of steps to fix the issue.
BUT THANKS - This has been the most HELPFUL thread to get me syncing agai!!!!
