ICloud syncing Weather and Stocks settings

We are a family with multiple iPhones and have all upgraded to iOS5 and iCloud syncing. We have come across one odd thing, our phones now have a combination of the Stocks and Weather settings from all the phones. How can we de-couple these as we like having our individual settings?

Hi All, this worked for me.
In your iPhone/iPad, go to Settings > Privacy > Calendars ... check which Apps are accessing your Calendar - for e.g. if you use an AccuWeather app, when you first installed it, it would have asked for access to your Calendar ... if the the button is switched to "On" ... the weather app will post the temperatures (Min/Max) of the day in your Calendar.
- As the data appears in your Calendar, it's likely going to be replicated to everyone else's Calendar that you share an iCloud account with.

- Do the same with the Stock app, switch the button to "Off", so it cannot access your Calendar/Contacts.
> In your iPhone/iPad, go to Settings > Privacy > Contacts ... check which Apps are accessing your Contacts ... turn off the ones you do no want the data fed into your Contacts.

Dear community,
I had my Mac OSX 10.10 in sync with my old iPhone 4S (iOS 8) regarding the inbuilt weather and stocks app.
Now I've got a new iPhone 6, and the sync connection is lost. No new weather locations or stocks are synced from Mac to iPhone or vice versa.
Of course I am logged in on both devices with the same iCloud account. Any idea?

Weather and Stocks widgets are not appearing in my notification center

I just updated my iPad 2 to iOS 5 and the weather and stock widgets are not appearing in my notification center. I tried to look for them under the notificatns tab in the settings app to activate them (which I read in an unofficial article) but they're not there. Can anyone please help?

Sometimes the scren shows a summary of multiple apps like local weather and stocks scroll at the bottom of the screen. This happens randomly. How can I "turn on" this effect. To turn it off I click the bottom button.

I am in need of a weather and stock widget, similiar to the ones on the iphone 4s, that allow you to display current stocks and weather in the notification window but i need it for the ipad2.

the iphone 4s came with a weather and a stock widget. these could be configured in notifications to CONSTANTLY display stock prices and the days weather whenever you pulled down the notification window. the ipad2 doesn't have these programs and i have spend a small fortune and time looking for this same feature. does anyone out there know off a weather and stock program that will let you program stocks into the notification window and then stream the stocks and prices acrossthe screen continously when you open the notification window. Also does anyone know of a weather program that will display the days current conditions ALL THE TIME, not just when the wind picks up or it snows.
the ipad2 doesn't have these built in programs and i can't find similiar ones in the app store.

Weather and Stocks Widgets Offline, wifi proxy the cause?

While connected to a wifi network with a proxy server, weather and stocks in the notification center indicate offline.
The network has a proxy auto-config which is set up for the network. The weather and stock apps have no issue while connected to wifi using the proxy and cellular disabled.
As soon as I turn off wifi with cellular enabled, the weather and stock widgets work properly.
Anyone else seeing this type of issue?

I'm having the same issue. What is weird though is that it's only happening since I upgraded to the iPhone 5. It worked fine on my 4.

How come my iCloud, messages, twitter, and facebook settings will not let me select them?

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 6 for my 4th gen iPod I cant acsess my iCloud, Messages, Twitter, and Facebook settings what is happening and how do I fix it.

ARe you provisioned by your cell provider to use MMS?
Last option is to contact your cell provider as MMS is a carrier feature.

If you mean in the notification center then no. The iPad does not have default Weather or Stock Apps that can interact with the Notification center.
You can however download 3rd party Apps that can show you stock and weather in them.

Icloud synced devices and streaming music

Please excuse my novice questions, but i need help understanding how iCloud influences my data usage. I have iPhone 5, iPad and MacBook 2011. I have checked the iCloud sync so that all devices talk. Also, i signed up for iCloud back up - $25 or whatever it is for the annual fee.
When i listen to music from my iPhone (which i do frequently at my job) - am i hearing music that's native to my iPhone OR am i "streaming" every song from the cloud and incurring data fees?
Also, when i signed up for iCloud, did it copy all of my music from my computer Hard Drive or is that music still there?
Lastly, i signed up for NPR Podcast and somehow i don't think it's actually "downloading" to my iPhone. I think it only streams. How can I set it up to actually download the information so that i can listen even when i don't have WiFi and so that i'm not burning up data allotment?

Yes to both questions. If you have iTunes Match turned off, you can only listen to music actually stored on your phone. You could also just leave it on, and just go to Settings>Music and turn Show All Music to Off and accomplish the same thing. With this set to off, it will only display songs stored on your phone.
When you have iTunes Match turned on, and you play a song that is already on your phone, it does not stream from iCloud (since the song is already stored locally on your phone). If you play a song that is not on your phone, it will stream from iCloud, but still downloads in the background.
I do understand that when I have WiFi on, i'm not using data from my data plan. However, at my office there is no WiFi, so i would be streaming.
If possible, download the music you plan on listening to while you're on wifi at home so you don't have to use your data plan to listen to it at work.
On you podcast question, I only download them to iTunes and sync them to my devices. I don't have any experience trying to "stream" them. I think if you did the same, you would experience the interruption in playback when you're away from wifi.

After upgrade to 3Gs, my weather and stock apps broke

So I just upgraded to 3Gs from a 3g. I synced the phone with itunes to restore all data, and now the stock and weather apps dont work. They just sit there spinning on "Updating". Both worked before I synced. Anyone have any idea whats going on?

The activation was flawless this morning and ALL stock apps worked. Tonight though, my stocks and weather are hanging on updating. I have a strong 3G signal and a strong Wi-Fi signal. Not sure what the problem is. I tried reseting the 3Gs and turning it off, neither seemed to work. Perhaps the two apps will function properly tomorrow.

ICloud syncing iPhones and iPad but not to iCloud nor my Mac

I have two iPhones, an iPad and two MacBooks. iCloud is used for syncing the content. This all works ok, except for the Address book. Address book content is synced only between the iDevices but neither to the iCloud Web-Portal nor to my Macs. This is very puzzling because I thought all the synchronization is done through iCloud, so how can the iCloud Portal and my Macs be left out. Especially given the fact, that the calendar sync works perfectly.
Here's what I did to verify:
- create a new address record named "test iPhone" on my iPhone. The record shows up on my iPad, but not in the web and not on my Macs
- create a new address record named "test iPad" on my iPad. The record show up on my iPhone, but not on the web and not on my Macs.
- create a new address record named "test Mac" on my Mac. The record shows up in the web and on my iDevices
- create a new address record named "test Web" via iCloud web interface. The record shows up on my Macs, but not on the iDevices
any ideas?

You can have each individual service turned on or off, so while you may not be using 2 iCloud accounts, it is perfectly possible to use 2 accounts and get exactly the results you are getting.
Why don't you look to see if you are using 2 accounts, you could check settings > mail, contacts and calendars on your phone and iPad or just look at the contacts app.

HT203180 I downloaded a tv series to my laptop and it plays on the laptop no problem, but won't play on my iPad. The sync process seemed to sync it and the settings section on the iPad suggests the series was there, but there's no icon to select on under

All other tv series that I have purchased via iTunes sync to my iPad no problem. This one for some reason 'seems' to sync properly (according to the iTunes sync progress bar) and is listed for a short time in the video section under 'settings', but the series icon doesn't appear under 'videos' from the main screen to actually play it. Then it disappears from the settings section too. I have tried to redownload direct to the iPad from the 'purchased items' on iTunes but the same problem still occurs? The series plays fine on my laptop. Any ideas?!

How can I use a different Apple ID for Find My iPhone than for iCloud syncing/storage and iTunes purchases?

I use two different Apple ID's for two iPhone 4's and for iTunes on my PC. I use one for purchases and the other for Find My iPhone on both phones. How can I set up iCloud for both phones using each ID for it's user for storage and backup but keep one ID for purchases and one for Find My iPhone on both phones?

To better describe what I am needing:
1. - iPhone 1
2. - iPhone 2
A. - Apple ID #1
B. - Apple ID #2
On 1. I need A for purchases and iCloud and B for Find My iPhone.
On 2. I need A for purchases and B for iCloud and Find My iPhone.
In addition, will iCloud store text messages?

Stocks weather and others not working

went to use the weather and it won't work on WIFI network, nor will stocks, nor will any 3rd app purchased from app store, they just bounce back to home screen...
all of sudden ? done a full restart, still won't work, any help or ideas ?

I had the same problem. Turns out I had to be validated on the WiFi network. Opening a webpage with Safari did the trick, after that, Weather and Stock apps worked fine.

No weather or stocks update

Hello. I have two iPhones that I purchased at the same time. Because of crashing apps issues last week, I completed a complete reset of both phones back to the original state. Then I installed minimal apps, and installed 2.02 today. Both phones show wi-fi. If I shut off wi-fi, EDGE picks up weather and stock updates. Otherwise only one phone works on wifi?

iPad is carried much higher then the iPhone (like a waist pocket, unlike the iPad which is in your hands mostly) ... after a certain altitude, there is no real need for "weather" ... where, your iPhone is on your waist - a place where some weather changes could be useful to know about...
