You can go to iCloud.com and set it up first.

  • Icloud transition upgrade mail database hung up

Just installed Lion and doing the icloud transition. "upgrade mail database" has been running for an hour. Something is wrong. What should I do?  I am sending this from another computer.

  • ICal calendar sharing after iCloud transition

iCal calendar sharing after iCloud transition does not work the same. I would like to be able to share a calendar in web view as I was able to before...
I am still able to invite others who have iCloud to see my calendar, but not PC users or others who do not have similar software. I want a url for the calendar soe I can send it to a group to view only. This was possible before the transistion! Please help!

In your iPhone (or iPad) go to settings/general settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars and at the top under "Accounts" you will see "Subscribed Calenars" (not in the calendar section, above that at the top of the page)... click on the calendar you want to delete and do so from there.

  • MobileMe account split from AppleID during iCloud transition

I previously had an AppleID account under a non-Apple email address. Let's call it [email protected] I use this account for my iTunes transactions, Mac support, etc. It also paid for me MobileMe account, which we'll [email protected]
When I upgraded the [email protected] account to iCloud, somehow it got disconnected from the [email protected] AppleId and now I have two AppleIDs. This isn't particularly the end of the world, but is there a way to merge them? And, if there's not, how do I transition all of the digital assets associated with each account from one account to another?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, OSX 10.6.8 will not support iCloud. You can use the mail address from the iCloud account with Snow Leopard bot not the rest of the iCloud features. You can access then via the web browser though at iCloud.com.
    To set up iCloud mail.
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • Massive Spam with MobileMe to iCloud Transition

Since the transition form MobileMe to iCloud, my Mail has been innundated with massive new spam -  medication sales and Vimeo false emails are especially numerous these days. Are others experiencing this? iCloud has burst open with a massive spam storm. This deluge of junk mail is unlike  anything I have ever seen. I am aftraid if there is no improvement, I may need to migrate yet again. This is intollerable. Curious what others are experiencing.

I have send several mails to [email protected] without any results.
Every day i got a SPAM mail from the same sender ... every day i forwarded that message to Apple.
On my iMac the mail go's to my spam-folder only it apears on my iPhone & iPad.
How to get this spammer out of my mailbox?

  • Keychain sync w ICloud transition?

Any new ideas about how to sync keychains after transitioning to icloud?  Like thousands of others, I rely on keychains for all of my passwords.  Some of the earlier versions of Mobile me were flawed, but in the past two years, mobileMe has synched keychains flawlessly.
I hope that Apple will reconsider adding keychains to the icloud.  after all, these are not large files!  What were these people thinking? (Answer: they were not!)
Th lack of keychain synching may be Apple's NETFLIX BIG DUMB MISTAKE moment.

so why are you posting in the iMac forum and not the iCloud or iCal one?  Go back to the main support page and find the more appropriate community to get your question answered more quickly by the experts that reside in those forums.  Good luck.

  • MobileMe to iCloud Transition Problems Still

I have sent the following enquiry to Apple, but before I get my response anybody got any ideas?
I am having major problems with moving my mobileMe ID to iCloud.  I last tried it a few moments ago, 23:00 on the 16 October 2011.
Every time I try I get the error saying that the server is too busy and to try again later.
I, then, on the same iMac, signed into my Dad's MobileMe account ([email protected]) and managed to move that to iCloud immediately without any problem, so I do not believe that my problem is still that the servers are too busy. There must be a problem with my account on your system that is preventing me from transitioning to iCloud.
I have tried using both my [email protected] and [email protected] email addresses.
My iMac is running OS 10.7.2 and the latest version of iTunes and all my mobile devices iOS 5.

When I registered with iCoud, I did get an email saying I'd get an extra 20 Gb, but I was on the free trial when they stopped taking new users so I didn't figure I would.  But when I switched everything over from MobileMe to iCloud on Thursday, I did see that I had 25 Gb of storage.  I used the same Apple ID I registered MobileMe with.  By default, iOS 5 uses the ID you use with iTunes, which for me is different than MobileMe.  I had to delete the account they created with my old Apple ID that I've had since the beginning and re-enter my MobileMe ID.  But the 20 Gb did not show up until I made the switch in my MobileMe account.
Here's the text of the "Welcome to iCloud" email:
    "Dear Stephanie,
Congratulations on moving to iCloud. You can continue using [email protected] for email.
One of the great things about iCloud is that it comes with 5GB of free storage for Mail, Documents, and Backup. As a MobileMe member, you also get a complimentary storage upgrade until June 30, 2012. As a reminder, your purchased music, apps, TV shows, and books, as well as your Photo Stream do not count against your iCloud storage.
    Sincerely,
    Apple"

  • Is there a way to delete all of my iWeb sites after the iCloud transition?

    Hi!
I'm trying to delete all of my websites that I created with iWeb but it doesn't seem to work (even republishing a blanc page).
Does anybody know if there is a way to do it or is not posible after the transition to iCloud?
    Thanks!

iCloud has nothing whatsoever to do with your websites - these are published to MobileMe.
Log into your MobileMe account under System Preferences and go to your iDisk where all your published sites are stored and simply delete them - the delete button should be on the left hand side of all your sites.
You can do this or mount your iDisk on your desktop.

  • 2 iphones using 1 iTunes account - iCloud transition?

My wife and I use the same iTunes account for both of our iPhones. I am concerned about what will happen when iCloud is launched.
Will the contacts, calendars, bookmarks, email accounts etc all merge, or will one of us lose our data? I don't think it will be possible to have different settings on different devices any more.
We both share the same user account on our computer too.
Think this is going to get messy!

Your iTunes account and iCloud are two different things. When iCloud launches, just have two separate accounts - one for you and one for your wife. When you create an iCloud account, all the info from Address Book, iCal, and Safari will be associated with that account (assuming that you're using a Mac). The only trouble I can see is that both of you are using one user account on the computer. I advise you to create a separate user account for you or your wife and separate the contacts, calendars, and bookmarks into the respective accounts.

  • ICloud transition lost all email access

    Hi,
I have read a few people are having issues with .mac / .me email once moved over to iCloud. Since my move everything is working fine, except email; this has not been working on Macbook, iPad & iPhone for 3 days now, it's now getting unbearable and I'm ready to throw all devices in the bin unless I know this is going to be fixed! (I'm in the middle of an overseas house sale with everythng on email!)
Has anybody else had no email access for this amount of time and is it just a case of wait even longer?
The main problem seems to be with p99-imap.mail.com.
Any suggestions before I unplug and put to the bin......
    Thanks,
    Nick

I have the same problem. For at least a day now, no email. I was travelling so don't know how long this has been going on. On top of that, my wife and daughter (on the same family account) have no problems. I have contacted Apple, they are reorganising my mailbox but that can take 24 hours they said.
I am a bit sad as well, it has worked for a few days since I migrated it from me to iCloud, but it is unacceptable to be without email for so long time, a useless service and it can cost us all a lot. I have been thinking to reroute all my personal email via gmail (I have a own website/email account that I can reroute to any other adress), since it seems that is working fine for ever. But what stops me is that my wife and daughter have no problems.
I have an appointment with a Genius, next thursday, and I wait till that 'rendez-vous' to decide whether to reroute my mail to gmail.

  • TS3276 apple mail problem after icloud transition

since moving to icloud, I cannot move mail messages from "in box" to folders previously created.  It occurs most often when trying to save 'on my mac'
    Why?  Getting an error message.

    David Goodman1 wrote:
I solved the problem yesterday and it had nothing to do with passwords. In mail preferences Out Going Mail Server (SMTP) iCloud (ICloud) I checked the box use only this server.
Under Advanced settings I entered imap.mail.me.com in the IMAP Pathe Preffix, Port 993, Use SSL
    Authentication - Apple Token
That's what I posted (2nd post in the thread) and you still got it wrong,
SMTP (outgoing) port is 587 Imap (incoming) is 993, but I see you have awarded yourself the correct answer and you'll post back when it fails.

  • MobileMe to iCloud transition storage

Hi I am a previous MobileMe user who switched over to iCloud on Wednesday morning.  I only received 5gb of storage.  I was under the impression MobileMe users would receive 20gb for being an existing MobileMe user plus the 5gb that every user receives free.  Has any other user experienced this sort of situation?  Any suggestions on how to fix it?  Of course, AppleCare is swamped with phone calls and I have not been able to get a hold of anybody to talk to.

  • ICloud Transition Successful. Can't sign in on iPhone.

I have transitiond my MobileMe account over to iCloud, I can sign in on iCloud.com and in the preferences pane on my Mac, however I cannot sign in on my iPhone. I'm sure this will be solved shortly, but i just wanted to check that I'm not doing anything wrong. Initially it said that i have wrong username/password and then it said "device is not supported" (i havea an iPhone 4) and  its now back to saying wrong username/pass.  As I have said before, i can sign in both on iCloud.com and in the pref pane, so its not a username/pass problem.
Is anyone else having/solved this problem?
    Thanks, Jamie

This one? When ever i fill in the correct user and password, it processes a few seconds and hangs
anyone seen this? (same on my ipad btw..)

  • I don't have a MobileMe account, and, after the iCloud transition, how will I use iWeb?

??? I want to publish my site to the web. HELP!!!

Well, how have you been publishing your site before now without a MobileMe account?
You need to go and purchase a domain name and hosting space with a company such as http://www.godaddy.com or http://www.hostexcellence.com and publish your site here.
    It is really very simple.
