ICloud unavailable due to high demand

Trying to move a MobileMe account to an iCloud account and it says "iCloud Not Available: Due to high demand, iCloud is not currently available for new users. Try again later." I've seen a handful of other posts where users get the same message. Got the same message on when doing this on an iPhone 4 and Lion 10.7.2. Come on man!
What's the ETA for resolution???

  • Am I the one concerned about iCloud unavailable due to high demand?

Cannot suscribe to iCloud.. Will Apple fix it?

Samething happening to me also.  I bought my wife the new iPhone, I initially used my icloud account to set hers up, then created her own apple ID and tried to change it on her phone and said the samething.  I love or should I say we love the iPhone, so hopefully Apple will get it fixed.

    Hi there,
I have a skype in number, which today is not working and loosing me business. When anyone calls my skype number they get a message "Sorry there is currently a high demand for this destination please try later"
I am getting this at least 2 days a month at the moment.
What is going on? After using Skype for 3 years now, I must say it is bug ridden, and not fit for purpose.
I fully expect to get no support at all if Skype is consistent, go on shock a customer and offer some support.

Idea:  I personally provided my Google Voice number (free) which then routes to my Skype number.  the benifit has been I can screen my callers, listen/block the caller from the Google Voice web site and it will TRANSCRIBE the message to text and then email it or send it to my phone.  I have the Skype voice mail feature turned off.

Whenever I call my Skype number I get a recorded message saying "We're sorry. There is currently a high demand for this destination". This happens from my office phone, from my mobile phone, and from other places I have tried. If this is what my callers would get then there is no point in my giving out my number.
    Please advise

    Subject/title amended accordingly.

I think that message is coming from your phone carrier(s) not from Skype and I think something is wrong
there's nothing special about a Skype Number
I would suggest that you ask your carrier why you get this intercept
if there's a problem with this particular Skype Number, you can always replace it with another (especially if not too many people are aware of your Skype Number)

  • Find My Friends is Unavailable due to a server error, can't fix!

    Hi,
I have been experiencing this problem since September both on my old iPhone5 and now on my iPhone6. Find My Friends App will not allow me to accept an invite or send requests to add. When I try a find my Friends alert pop up displays saying "Find My Friends is Unavailable due to a server error"
I have tried uninstalling the App and reinstalling but to no avail. The rest of my family have no issues. Any help appreciated.

  • High demand architecture, large reports, distributed printing, best practic

    Hi,
I have a client with high demand for printing reports in different country regions and large reports (10000 pages some of them), today they are doing this with Oracle Reports, but the server regularly gets overloaded and some reports never complete. They use reports in PDF format.
Can you please suggest an appropriate architecture for this scenario. Or refer some documentation on Best Practices for high demand and distributed reporting?.
    Case description
They have a centralized Reports Server and reports are used in different remote regions of the country.
Some reportrs have 6 pages and others may be more than 10.000 pages.
Reports server has communication with some remote facilities at 10 mbps, and some regional offices at 10mbps, but most offices connect at 512 o 1024 bps.
The idea would be having reports like "client reports" in the offices and request only "Data" to the server, so they can reduce network traffic, they believe most problems come from the fact that Reports Server sends heavy PDF thru the network causing lags and fails, some reports never complete, they have to resend them.
Some othes ideas also include : Reduce the business logic placed into reports, use of regional servers, or even they have thought in changing Reports for another tool.
Any comment or suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your attention.

i think better way is to keep business logic into database and generate ur reports using Forms(Oracle forms) based parameter forms and save results into temporary tables
show some progress bar status on ur forms so it will be easy for users how long they have to wait for report to generate
in reports there should not by anything more than select * from mytemptables

  • High demand for resources after installing v.8.0.1. Seems more noticeable on news websites.

Running Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex SX280, high demand for resources that I think began after updating to v.8.0.1. Going to firefox safe mode w/add-ons disabled seemed to help initially, but not now. Seems more noticeable on news websites like fox.com. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'm going to back up to Firefox 7 next. I'm getting the drift that 8.0.1 and/or flash on 8.0.1 are unstable.
I'll let you know if that solves this problem.
    NOPE. This had no effect.

  • Powerpoint web sharing fails with "some presenting features are unavailable due to server connectivity issues"

    Hi,
I am having problems getting PowerPoint sharing working with Lync 2013. My setup is as follows
Lync 2013 Enterprise pool (november 2013 updates) on Windows 2012 and
    Windows 2012 webapp farm
    Kemp HLB
Everything is working ok, including whiteboards and application sharing, but i cannot get the powerpoint sharing to work. I always get the "some presenting features are unavailable due to server connectivity issues" for internal or external
    users.
The webapp looks healthy and there are no errors in the Lync server or the webapp event log. Discovery urls can be accessed and i have put the .net 3.5 as suggested in a few forums.
When a user starts the PowerPoint it successfully loads the file to the Lync file share and request goto the webapp server. I am using a HLB which shows me that requests are forwarded to the webapp farm. I have removed the HLB for testing and get the same
    results.
I did log this with the forum a month or so ago, but I had a file upload issue then which is now solved, but the powerpoint sharing is not.
    any ideas?

  • Is iCloud secure from American government demand for disclosure for Canada privileged information?

I am located in Canada and do business in Canada. Clients are entitled to privilege and confidentiality. Is data stored on iCloud subject to American government demand for disclosure?

iCloud is a free consumer-level service and certainly isn't designed or promoted as being suitable for storage or transferral of confidential business information so you really shouldn't use it for such purposes.
There's probably no 'cloud' service on the planet that is outside the boundaries "an overzealous agency or an agent on a frolic and detour" would cross - but why would they bother? Why would they be interested in the health information of random people from Canada or anywhere else? There's far more interesting stuff out there for them to look at if they so wanted and had the means to do so.
Apple is not above the law with regards to allowing access to data when demanded to by a court though. No company is, but they don't just let random "agents" go poking through people's iCloud files for no reason.
You can read Apple's iCloud Security and Privacy Overview here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4865 and their Privacy Policy here: http://www.apple.com/privacy/
If you are seriously worried about "an overzealous agency or an agent on a frolic and detour", don't use the internet at all, the postal service or even a telephone when dealing with your clients information.

  • ICloud Photo not syncing + High CPU process (Win 8.1 pro)

This is a new persistent issue with my iCloud and I can't figure out how to fix it permanently because I was able to fix it few days ago, but issues return back a day later! So here's the full story...
I just received a new (AWESOME!!) Surface Pro 3 i5 256 GB tablet with Windows 8.1 professional. I installed iCloud on it as well as iTunes and Quicktime (the basics isn't it?). When setting up my iCloud account first, everything sync up correctly but after a few days (3-4 days), I notice than my Surface tablet are becoming pretty hot and making some fan noise (common Surface issue) when I didn't use it really. So I checked for a high-CPU process and I noticed than "iCloud Photo Stream Downloader" are stuck at 30-35% CPU for an hours ago. Moreover at this point I realized than my photos are not syncing for a few days. I fix the high-CPU process by rebooting, but my photo are still not syncing at all and after a few minutes after reboot, the "downloader" process stuck back to 30-35% and still not syncing!
So I first try some of the workaround found on the internet like sign out iCloud app, then kill all iCloud related process and delete folder %appdata%/Apple/Mediastream and reboot and sign in... same thing... after a few minutes, high-CPU usage + not syncing! I try to "repair" iCloud installation... same thing (high CPU + not syncing)... I uninstalled iCloud + reinstalled... same thing!
I finally fix the situation by uninstalling ALL Apple related software (iTunes, iCloud, Quicktime, Apple Soft Upd, Apple Mobile Sup, Apple App Sup, Bonjour, etc) and thereafter deleting all "Apple_xxxx" folders in %appdata% and also remove all registry keys from the Windows Registry related to Apple. Reboot then reinstall iTunes first and then run "Apple Soft Upd" to install automatically iCloud + Quicktime... then reboot, sign in and then the photo finally sync this time and no high-CPU process!
But a days later... High CPU + Fan noise on the tablet... so checked and the god **** "iCloud Photo Downloader" are again stuck at 30-35% and no more photo sync (I saw the old photos, but not the last day's photo are not sync).
Anybody experience this situation and know how to fix it PERMANENTLY? I checked at my Apple iCloud LOGS and the only thing I saw that can be suspicious is the last line of the log who's :
    [2472 @ Tue Nov 11 19:45:09 2014] [YSLog ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe] defaults key ShouldLog in domain ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe is (null)
    Please help!!

In fact I discovered later I have this issue on all my Windows computers... both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, both MACs (BootCamp) or true PC computers. Except only the Surface Pro 3 tablet seem to have the HIGH-CPU process issue, but all my other Windows PCs stopped syncing too after a few weeks or so.
I just build a BRAND NEW HP Pro Desktop computer running Windows 8.1 Professional and a few days later iCloud Photo stopped syncing too... this is the straw that broke the camel's back! This PC is brand new and no other software are installed except iCloud, iTunes, QuickTime and Microsoft Office 2013 (Office 365). PC is brand new (1 week old) and iCloud Photos sync is already broken!
I also have a few Windows 7 PCs at home (HTPCs on TVs) where iCloud Control Panel is installed and after looking at them, they stopped syncing too for a while (many months ago) but I didn't noticed it yet because I don't check photos often on them.
For now I just give up and disabled the iCloud Photo Sync completely on all my Windows PCs. It only sync between my two iPads, my two iPhones and my two Macs computer (MBPr + iMac 27") and that's it... that's sad, but I'm tired loosing my time with that crappy software!
PLEASE APPLE!! MAKE ICLOUD FOR WINDOWS BETTER!!

  • ICloud payment due date in the year 2050

    Hello,
I called Apple around 27 September with a problem on having iCloud bill my credit card on 30 September 2012 where the Apple representative seemed to have a challenge understanding my issue.
So 30 September came and went and now my iCloud account says the next payment due date is 30 September 2050.  It is the same on my wife's account as well.  I have no problem paying $40 a year since I use to pay $99 with MobileMe.  I don't want to lose my e-mail and other stuff is the issue.
Please let me know if you have seen or had the issue or it is anything to worry about.  My credit card has not been billed yet.  For our teenage son when I set up his iCloud account I was billed immeadiately so I take it there is some issue on payment processing for existing customers.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

Obviously the date is an error: Apple are apparently aware and are dealing with it. I assume you had the free extension as a MobileMe migratee but wish to continue using it and pay for it: you will need to cancel the downgrade - you should be able to do that now, and then you will be charged when Apple sort this out (or possibly in 2050 if you're very very lucky ).

  • ICloud unavailable on Chrome Browser with Lion

When I go to icloud.com with Chrome on my Mac I get that iCloud is temprarily unavailable.  It has been that way since I first tried yesterday.  I have no problem going to icloud.com with Safari on the same Mac and with Chrome on my Win 7 computer.

Do you have something like NotScripts installed on Chrome? That blocked iCloud from loaded for me until I added iCloud.com to the trusted sites.

  • ICloud unavailable for iWorks apps

The options to save to~open from iCloud are unavailable for iWorks apps on my MacBook (OS X 10.7.5, 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 6GB RAM). Keynote, Pages and Numbers are all up-to-date, and all iCloud options are turned ON in System Preferences. I tried turning iCloud off, restarting, and turning iCloud on again ~ but it did nothing for iWorks apps. What am I missing?

Direct saving is onlly available in Mountain Lion. You have to open the iCloud website to the page for iWork, and drag the documents from the Finder to the web page.
For more information, go to http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm9d23dae8 and expand 'From a Mac with OS X v10.7.5 installed or a Windows computer' and 'Drag a document from a Mac or Windows computer to icloud.com'.
