Icloud Upgrade not recognized - need to change old email address

I have an old email address that was hacked and had to move email to a me.com account. Last week I upgraded my icloud storage on my iphone and now it says that I am locked out. I cannot find away to remove the old email address, update with the me.com account and use my email. I have already been charged for the upgrage.

  • I need to change the email address in iCloud

I need to change the email address in iCloud

What do you mean? - the address you use for login or the @icloud.com email address created when you opened your iCloud account?
If your login is an @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com address you cannot change it. If it is a non-Apple email address you can change it, but please be careful to follow the procedure outlined here:
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example  at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.
    EMAIL ADDRESS
Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

  • I need to change my email address.  how do Ido this and keep everything?

I need to change my email address forsecurity reasons.  Howdo I dothis without losiing everything from my old email address?

The assigned name is the same as the one you chose when originally setting up the account, just with the @icloud.com suffix. It is exactly the same email account, not a new one.
You cannot setup a new iCloud email account without setting up a new iCloud account under a different AppleID.
Alternatively, you can setup email aliases: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a

  • I need to change my email address, is it possible?

I'm just getting way too much spam and I need to change my email address, preferably to one of my aliases, but I'll take anything. Anyone know how to do this?

Just hang on with the Junk training. It does not only look at the from: section.
Mark each new one as Junk and after a couple of days you should see it marks it by itself (although not 100%) and then set it to automatic.
Just deleting it will not help the Junk training.

  • How do you change your icloud account information? It contains an old email address that i no longer have access to

I have an icloud account but i need to change the user id for it as its an old email address that i no longer have access to. This is different from my apple id.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
Note: this will only work if the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID).

  • I need to change my email address which iCloud is showing as its offenisive

    Can anyone help

If you mean you mean you need to change the iCloud ID, you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.

  • HT204022 I need to change my email address associated with my icloud account. How do I do that?

How do I change the email address associated with my icloud account?

The OP asked how to change the email address that is associated with their iCloud account.
To sign into your iCloud account you use your Apple ID.
Therefore if you want to change the email address or Apple ID you sign into iCloud with, you need to change your Apple ID.
If your question is how to change your primary iCloud Mail email address, AFAIK, you cannot as it is linked to and is an alias for your Apple ID. You can create an email alias. Alias can be changed and deleted.

  • How can I change my account on icloud without losing all my data and suppressing the former account. I just need to change the email address... TKS

I changed my email address, how can I keep my icloud data without cancelling my former account...?

    Hey there Fonz111,
It sounds like you have a new email address you would like to use to replace the email address you are currently using for your Apple ID, without losing any of the info you have in the account. You can update the email address with this article named:
Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5621
To change your Apple ID, follow these steps:
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID", and sign in.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you are unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.
In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
Enter the email address you want to use, then click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that address.
Open the email from Apple, then click Verify Now in the email.
When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your renamed Apple ID.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.
After you see a message indicating that verification is complete, remember to update all of the stores and services that you use with your Apple ID.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • When I try to log into iCloud the login page offers me my old email address rather than my newer one - and for which I have created a new password. I am unable to activate iCloud. Suggestions welcome.

Earlier, I changed my Apple account details to reflect my new email address. I also changed the password. iCloud seems not to 'know' this. It's service is disabled until I login in. But the default email address shown on the login page is the old email address. I can find no way of telling I cloud that I have new account details.

To change the account, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with your revised credentials.  If they aren't accepted, recreate the old ID at https://appleid.apple.com/ and changing the primary email address back to the old one (no need to verify the email account).  Then sign out of the old ID on your Mac, providing your current password if prompted.  Once you have signed out, change your ID back again, then go to System Preferences>iCloud and sign back in with your updated credentials.

  • I have icloud on all my devices I changed my email address and my password for them, but I can't seem to change it all for icloud. It won't let me. I keep getting a window popping up on all them asking to go to settings but in settings it won't allow me

I cannot seem to change my email address and password on icloud. I have changed it in itunes. But On all my apple products it will not let me, I just keep getting a window popping up on all of them asking me to go to settings but when I go into setting I cannot get it to change. Help !!!

Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with your new credentials.  If all you did was modify your existing ID rather than creating and entirely new ID, you can choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted.  Your data will still be in iCloud and will download to your phone when you sign back in.

  • Cant delete old email address from icloud on my iphone 5, cant delete old email address from icloud on my iphone 5

Hi Everyone, have updated my primary email address in itunes etc and main apple account.  However i cant delete my old email off my iphone 5 from the icloud account.  It prompts me each time for my old address and password and when i try and put them in it says the password is wrong....my apps and everything else is ok, just the icloud.  Really fed up it wont let me delete it on my iphone.  Any help appreciated, have tried other past suggestions but i cant get past it asking for my old log in details which are now not working....

Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.
