ICloud vs AppleID password

Multiple iPhones and iPads under one AppleID. Trying to set up iCloud account so the kids and parents aren't getting each other's iMessages and info.
I set up new icloud account with new password. It keeps changing the password for our family Appleid and notifying them of every change I make. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.

I changed my appleID password but now I can't sign in to icloud using the new or previous appleID passwords. How do I get out of this loop please?

    Hi grrrhh,
If you are having issues accesssing iCloud after changing your Apple ID password, you may want to confirm the process you use for changing the password, and/or confirm if your new password works at both the Apple ID website (appleid.apple.com) and at iCloud.com. You may find the following article helpful:

When I try to setup my iCloud, after adding my AppleID & password, the next screen is the EULA (with an Agree and a Disagree button) - I press Agree - Nothing happens.  It appears to freeze.  This phone was previously owned and the last owner's apple id is what defaults...  I do not know the last owner's password. - I just want to get rid of that person's iCloud in order to create my own with my own account.

With iOS 7 you will not be able to delete the iCloud account without providing the password for the iCloud ID.  If it is the previous owner's account, you will need to have them remove it from their ID as mentioned in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515.

How i said on the question. I tried to upgrade the ios on the phone and I was asked for my icloud user and password. I don’t remember these exactly and I tried several times with different options but unsuccessfully. I also forget my email used to configurate the phone. I have the phone box and the bill. I sent you an email with my problem and attachments with the box informations, the bill and the reset request. What to do? You said to me:
Your request comes from an unrecognized email domain. Apple accepts email requests only from email domains for Apple-authorized carriers.
Please re-submit your request using your official carrier domain.
but this email is authorized, what to do??

I no longer have the e-mail address associated with an Apple ID.  I do not know the password for that account, nor are the security questions correct (e.g. it asked my birth date, but, when I listed it, I was told it was not correct).  I have no way to get into the program, to correct an information.  How do I delete this account and start anew?

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then  on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

  • How can I set the Reminders app so that it does not shown my AppleID password as the header for my lists on my desktop or laptop screen?!?

My Reminders app which I sync with iPad shows my AppleID password as a heading for my lists when I have it open on my screen of my laptop or desktop. The iPad does not reveal the password the same way. Desktop is not so worrisome, but I don't understand why this would happen and is especially weird if I have the app open in public on my laptop.  Is this a default? What do I do to make sure the list does not show by password?  I understand that sharing the Reminders via the iCloud may cause a need to show what Reminder lists are being shared between a device and laptop, but why not a user name instead of the PASSWORD!!!?

Where in the Reminder's window are you seeing the password.  Here's what my Reminder's window looks like?
    That's Reminders V2.0 on 10.9.4.

I have a company Ipad that belonged to a deceased employee. no access to his icloud or appleID. how can I restore it for use with a new apple ID?
The apple ID was his personal account and can no longer gain access. Im sure I can get purchase recipts from the accounting department if needed. I tried to put the Ipad in restore mode and used itunes to "recover" the ipad but it still wont let me in because he registered the device with the "lost iphone" feature or whatever that is.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required
If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

You can change your email address and password at
          https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
    Use the links:
    Manage your Apple ID
    or

But that requires, that you know your current password, or have set up an rescue email, or know the answers to the security questions.  (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312)
If you cannot provide these, you will need to contact AppleSupport for help:

  • TS3988 How can I change my iCloud account and password? If I delete the account, I do not want all info deleted.

I want to change my iCloud account and password without losing info that has been backed up.

Your iCloud account ID and password are the AppleID and password you used when you created the account.  As fromsouth says, change the password for the AppleID and you've changed it for your iCloud login.  You can also change the primary email address of that AppleID if you need to.

  • Keeps requesting appleID password

I have ios 8 on a 5S - about once a day my phone will crash and then ask repeatedly for appleID passwords
this happened in a major way about 5 days ago meaning ALL my IOS devices (4 of them, one belonging to my wife) started asking for appleID passwords and refusing to recognise them until we turned on privacy for world time (a known glitch which apple STILL hasnt sorted) - even then there appears to be automatic resets to my profile on my wifes phone so she ends up receiving imessages meant for me.
We deliberately set up all the idevices so theres no family sharing or Icloud sharing of anything other than Find iphone
Anyone else had this problem, as well as the very lame battery power?
    J

Just to clarify Icloud uses the correct Appleid to do the restore, but finds an incorrect in the Restore itself, which I cannot satisfy because the restored incorrect ID no longer exists!

  • Change password in Icloud (not reset password)

The AppleID password was resetted from an Iphone. Now I know the new password but how do I change the password of Icloud on the mac. Prefering without having to say signout since the Icloud on the mac has not had the chance to sync the calendar for a few days already. And signing out removes everything connected to Icloud from the computer. Or does it keep the information that didn't have the chance to sync yet? And changing the password back again is no option since it was to hard for the boss to remember.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • How do i retrieve my icloud mail ID password. It is not matching my current Apple ID password

How do i retrieve my icloud mail ID password. It is not matching my current Apple ID password

See the quote below from http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/
An Apple ID is the login you use for just about everything you do with Apple, including using iCloud to store your content, downloading apps from the App Store, and buying songs, movies, and TV shows from the iTunes Store.
If you are using a second Apple ID for iCloud you would recover the password in the same way: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

  • I can not remember my icloud password.  I would like to recover it but the difficulty is my apple id and Icloud have differnt passwords and the links for recovery all work only to chnage my apple id password.

I can not remember my icloud password.  I would like to recover it but the difficulty is my apple id and icloud have different passwords and the links for recovery all work only to change my apple id password.  SO how do I recover the icloud password?

An Apple ID is used for everything (including this site) and including iCloud. See the quote below from https://appleid.apple.com/
There is no such thing as an iCloud password but it is possible that you have 2 Apple IDs and you are using one of them for iCloud.
An Apple ID is your user name for everything you do with Apple: Shop the iTunes Store, enable iCloud on all your devices, buy from the Apple Online Store, make a reservation at an Apple Retail Store, access the Apple Support website, and more.

  • Changed my appleid password and now can't find AT&T cellular data network

A few days ago, I changed my appleid password.  This morning I had occasion to try to use the AT&T cellular data network on my ipad and it keeps being unable to find it, coming back saying "No Service".  I do not believe there is truly an outage on that network.  I am using iOS 7.0.6.  I can access everything via my wireless network with no problem, using the new appleid password.  I have tried resetting the network settings on my ipad, turning off Find my Ipad, and restarting the ipad with no effect.  I just successfully backed up my ipad to Icloud and am about to do so to my computer as well, prior to trying a reset to factory settings.  Before I do the reset to factory settings, I thought I would ask if there are any other ideas or if this is some sort of known bug?  Thanks.

    Hello Working2,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
    iPhone: Troubleshooting No Service
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4429
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Turn iPhone off and then on again.
Remove the SIM card and verify that it's a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it isn't damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Check for a carrier-settings update. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Then tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, iOS will ask you if you want to install it. If Wi-Fi isn't available, connect your device to iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
    Restore the iPhone.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario
