ICloud web page says safari 6.0.2 "not supported"
Having updated Safari to 6.0.2 as advised, I've tried (repeatedly) to access iCloud. All I get is the message "your browser is not supported. To use iCloud we recommend updating to the latest version." That's been happening ever since updating to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 from Snow Leopard. Any ideas, please?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Need help with TMA login from iPad. Works with tablets and android but not with apple
I hate browser-specific web sites. They're usually nothing but lazy programming.
Anyway, there are third-party web browers in the iTunes Store that have a setting that will report the browser as being a different one. iCab Mobile comes to mind and there are probably others. You can try one of those, setting it to report as IE, and see if that site will then work.
If, however, the site is using Microsoft-specific technologies, then you won't be able to use that site from your iPad. The only workaround would be to use one of the remote-control solutions to take control of a computer running Internet Explorer.

Can't get to iCloud web page on iPhone, iPad
Set up iCloud and it's syncing and pushing everything as expected. Have no problem getting to the iCloud web page on my Mac (using Safari), but when I try to get to the web interface on an iPhone or iPad, I'm always just redirected to the iCloud "Hot to set up iCloud" page. I'm never able to reach the log-in page.
Are others able to sign in to the web iCloud page thru their iDevices?Learned on another forum that that's the intended behavior. On iDevices you just use iCloud as a service, you don't interact with it.
Would be nice of Apple to make that clearer, rather than just sending all iDevices to page of instructions... -
Can not open any web page in Safari
can not open any web page in Safari on the IPad. All other wireless features work fine.
If this does not work then try a reset ,
Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
Good luck and do report back. -
Getting the newest version of a web page in Safari
My version of Safari does not look for updated versions of websites I frequently visit. It always loads what's in the cache. Is there a setting somewhere that forces it to always load the page from scratch or at least every session?
In my experience, Internet Explorer is much worse about caching stale web pages than Safari. (As an example, I often have to tell people in my workplace to restart their PCs in order to see a web page change in Windows Internet Explorer, while I can see the change in Safari without a problem.)
However, the problem can be confused by things that a network (in a workplace, in particular) do in terms of web access, and also by caching that your ISP might be doing, as QuickTimeKirk mentioned. If your ISP is "feeding" you a cached page, your web browser really can't load the refreshed page until the ISP itself refreshes the page. -
For example maps not loading on hotel pages. Various other errors appear now on web pages saying ' You must have JavaScript enabled'. I'm not a computer person, but I can see from about:config says its enabled -
javascript.enabled;true
Any other suggestions???You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).
Check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

When I select print from any website article while in Firefox it only prints a blank page. When I open same web pages using Safari, they print fine. Documents in other appliations print fine. Only Firefox documents print blank page.
Quit Safari.
Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
☞ If running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.
☞ If running an older version of Mac OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and enter “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the text box that opens.
Delete the following items from the Library folder:
Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist

Web pages in Safari won't acknowledge my usernames and passwordss
I have the iPad 2, iOS 5.1.1 When I go to various web pages, using Safari, that require my username and password, and I enter them correctly, and hit submit or enter, the page takes me back to the sign-in page, again and again and again and... This occurs on all web pages that require usernames and passwords, which I have tried about 6 different sites. On my settings for Safari, the Remember names and passwords is on. Please advise.
Make sure that in Settings -> Safari -> Accept Cookies is NOT set to "Never".

Try emptying the cache...
From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Empty Cache
If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. -
MY WEB PAGE IS DIMLY LIT AND DOES NOT SCROLL
THE WEB PAGE IS DIMLY LIT AND DOES NOT SCROLL
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third thing to then try is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
And there is no need to SHOUT
