ICloud will not sync contacts and calendar events from my iPhone to my macbook pro.

Only a few contacts are displayed on my Macbook and no calendar events are displayed. Any suggestions?

Check that you have entered the information into an iCloud group and not an On My Mac group, only information in iCloud groups will sync.

  • Why can´t I see contacts and calendar events from my iPhone in my mac pro if I already registered it in the cloud?

Why can´t I see contacts and calendar events already registered in my iPhone, in my Mac Pro ?  I already actualize LION OSX   and selected these items in the adjustments menu of the icloud. I could do it just once, after I installed Lion OSX, but up to the moment it does not updates.

Assuming you activated iCloud, try going to Settings>iCloud and make sure Calendars and Contacts are set to ON.

why is itunes not syncing contacts and calendar events

The current method of syncing contacts and calendars is to use iCloud rather than syncing.

  • Can Not Sync Contacts and Calendar to iPhone Since iTunes Upgrade to 7.6

Hello, I have an iPhone and iTunes installed on my PC--which is running Windows XP Home Edition 2002 SP2, and I only sync my Contacts and Calendar using the sync functionality through iTunes and MS Outlook 2007. I was on iTunes 7.4 and everything worked fine. I just upgraded to iTunes 7.6, and now I can not get my new contacts and calendar info from Outlook to sync with my iPhone anymore. I get this error message:
    The program "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\OutlookSyncClient.exe" --sync com.apple.Outlook --entitynames com.apple.calendars.Attendee,com.apple.calendars.Calendar,com.apple.calendars.D isplayAlarm,com.apple.calendars.Event,com.apple.calendars.Organizer,com.apple.ca lendars.Recurrence,com.apple.calendars.Task caused a problem and is going to close.
Is anyone familiar or know of the solution?
    Thanks!

Thanks, but as I've said I've tried all of that described in the reference you've kindly given. I don't have a local cache, and hence no PST files. The only one I have is an OST file which I have checked for integrity using the Microsoft supplied tools. I have switched to local PST (a suggestion given in another thread), and found that not to work either, so have switched back to non cached. I have even renamed the OST file to .BAK, and had it rebuilt. Again to no avail. There is a bona fide bug here. The http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306635 article does only say "This may be due to the format of the Outlook Personal Storage File (.PST)", so I guess as the operative word is "may", its not a guarantee of this being the solution.
Also I'm not syncing my contacts, I'm only doing the calendar nothing else.
Additionally, this used to work, so your hypothesis, of the "bad data", being synced in 7.6 and then not being able to be subsequently budged is a definate goer I think. But the trick would be to work out what the bad data is. I'm assuming the source of the bad data is the iphone, so I've deleted old calendar in outlook entries I know to have come from the iPhone, that has, as yet, been a fruitless exercise.
I do thank you though for your help though, I'll be scouring the internet for any tidbits of information which might help, and I'll post them back here if I find the solution, or anything which may help others unfortunate enough to be in this situation.

  • I've lost the contacts and calendar events from my 3GS after setting up iCloud with iPad3 and PC Outlook.  Any solutions?

I've lost the contacts and calendar events (& email) from my 3GS after setting up iCloud with iPad3 and PC Outlook.  Any solutions?
I tried to re-synch it with the PC iTunes, but no luck, even when re-checking the boxes for Outlook...

I should mention that i have NOT upgraded to iOS 5 on the 3GS and don't want to.  Therefore, no iCloud on the phone.

  • ICloud not syncing Contacts or Calendar events on iOS 5 devices after MobileMe migration

On either of my devices (iPhone 4 and iPad 2) I cannot get my contacts or calendar events to appear correctly, both devices crash the contacts or calendars apps when I access them.
I first upgraded to ios5 and iTunes 10.5 (Which bricked my iPhone 5 times in a row with error 3012)
I then migrated from MobileMe to iCloud and all of my Contacts/Calendars are appearing correctly online at iCloud.com.  However my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 will simply refuse to sync with the contacts and calendars...
My iPhone and iPad literally freeze when I try disable the iCloud services, I have restored both devices numberous times and started the iCloud service in MANY different steps.  I have even used both my mac and PC to restore my devices.
I have been trying to fix this for two days now, I am extremely disapointed with iCloud, and I sorely wished I had of stayed with my MobileMe service.  I initally thought this would be server contact issues, but there HAS to be something wrong with my devices, or sync services.
Surely other users have encounted this error, I would love to know the strategies used to resolve this.

I thought I might post here and update my solution thus far..
    1. Restored my iPhone 4 and iPad 2, and did not select iCloud.
    2. iCloud working fine on the macbook pro, so I exported my contacts from iCloud to the vCards.
    3. Turned icloud contacts off on my macbook pro (iCloud calendars remained on)
    4. Synced iPhone 4 and iPad 2 with my macbook pro
    5. now my iOS 5 devices sync my contacts and calendar locally with my macbook pro
    6. Turned on iCloud only for my email, notes and documents.
Word to the wise: Stay clear of iCloud, WAY too many issues, especially for MobileMe migration customers.

  • Why is my iPad not syncing contacts and calendars?

I am baffled. When I look at the settings on my iPad it says that it is set to sync these things with my computer. When I plug it into iTunes, I get the message from iTunes that my settings for contacts and calendars are being automatically synced with iCloud, and that syncing through the computer may generate double entries. However, it is NOT syncing automatically. My iPhone was syncing, but does not have the latest entries on my computer calendar. Can someone tell me how to get both devices to sync automatically? Also, how soon should the syncing take place when a new entry is made? Thanks, Barbara

  • IPhone will not synch contacts and calendar with Outlook after upgrade to 4

I have been using an ACT! database on a PC for years, synching to Outlook with CompanionLink, and synching my iPhone to Outlook. After upgrading my iPhone to 4.0, I can no longer synch my contacts and calendar from Outlook. It "goes through the motions," appearing to be synching. But in the end, nothing changes. I have reloaded iTunes. The problem is between Outlook and the phone (the synch from ACT! to Outlook is fine).

I'm having the same issue. Upgraded my 3G to OS4 which wiped out my contacts from the phone. I also use CompanionLink (Express) to sync ATC with Outlook and iTunes and the phone. Have spent hours/days on the phone with second level Apple tech support to no avail. CompanionLink IS syncing with Outlook but Outlook isn't syncing with the phone. Have tried syncing to Outlook directly (without CompanionLink) but no good result. Tried syncing through MobilMe. Can sync all Outlook contacts from my computer to me.com through MobileMe but does not sync with the phone. Tech support suggested trying to sync fewer contacts at a time as their might be a problem with the contacts file. DID manage to get 4000 of my 5600 contacts back in but can't get any more in. Previously had NO problem syncin all contacts directly and through CompanionLink. VERY frustrating.
Also, I use Outlook Express for email. Since installing MobileMe I get an error message saying that Outlook isn't my default mail handler and I need to change the settings to make it the default mail handler. I DO NOT have "sync mail" checked as I'm not trying to sync my email accounts...only contacts and calendars. Made Outlook the default mail handler which stops the error message but still can't sync the contacts and I want to keep Outlook Express for email.

  • 5th gen iPod Classic will not sync contacts or calendars with itunes 9

I get the following window message when selection contacts to sycn - "iTunes will no longer sync contacts to ipod "MiPod Classic 80". Would you like iTunes to remove contacts previously copied to you ipod?"
Then is has two button choices (Don't remove contact) and (Remove Contacts).
When trying to select calendars I get a window state something like... You can no calendars to sync. Would you like to open iCal to create some. Then it give me a button to do so.
    I do have calendars.
    Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem. When I tell iTunes to sync Contacts, no contacts show up. It asks if I want to add contacts to my Address Book, but when I click okay, all of my 400+ contacts appear as normal in the Address Book. I just can't get iTunes to recognize that I have contacts in my address book.
I think calendars are also missing, but I'm no longer syncing calendars, so I haven't really messed with that.
I actually think the problem started when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, but I don't usually mess with my contacts sync settings, so it could've been a problem prior to that. I just upgraded to iTunes 9 last night, and that did not fix the problem.

  • ITunes 7.3.2 Will Not Sync Contacts or Calendars to 5G iPod

I have four ipods of various flavours that I sync via iTunes. On my new 5G iPod I try to sync the contacts and it tells me that there are none, open Address Book and create some. Of course, Address Book is full and it syncs just fine with the iPod Photo, the 4G iPod and the Nano. Same happens with iCal, it says there are no calendars, open iCal and create one. Everything else syncs to the 5G without a problem. I am in the process of completing a restore on the iPod as it came from the Apple Store with a Windows format (yuck) and I had reset it initially to be a Mac format device and thought maybe something wasn't quite right. Anyone with any thoughts?
Connection is USB2 to the PowerMac same as every other iPod. I used to use FireWire but the Nano only worked with USB so I switched. Too bad, FW is a much better transport mode.

A solution was posted a few days ago on the AppleTV forum -- at least it solved my problems with both iPod and Apple TV. Whether Apple has addressed it or not, its technicians are clearly aware that the new version of iTunes has a problem recognizing external devices. Below is the solution posted the other day on the AppleTV forum. (If it helps any, the senior technician who worked with me is: Ryan, 800-409-5381x2175#
    ----- posted by Brad:
I went through all the troubleshooting guideliness as outlined in the "Service and Support" section of the AppleTV help section/web page. Short of reinstalling iTunes, I opted to call AppleCare instead.
Assuming you have access to your wireless network and are able to view movie trailers, do the following:
    1. From the main AppleTV menu, go to Sources.
    2. Select Synching.
    3. Select Change iTunes Library, then Continue.
Disregard the warning about it wiping out the content on your AppleTV.
    4. Write down the new number code, go back to iTunes, and presto, your AppleTV now appears in the DEVICES list in iTunes.
As was explained to me, the latest/greatest iTunes update has a problem with AppleTV. It needs to be redirected to your iTunes again. AppleTV thinks that the new iTunes is an entirely new entity and doesn't exactly recognize it as an update. With regard to the warning when changing iTunes libraries, so long as it's the same computer you are connected to with the same iTunes library, it will simply update and start synching new content you may have put into your iTunes from the last time AppleTV synched. It will not wipe the hard drive on the AppleTV clean. That's what I was worried about earlier and that's why I stayed away from taking this route on my own. I wasn't too keen on starting over with copying all my content back up the my AppleTV. As it worked out, the warning message eventually led me to further research and to this discussion board and then to AppleCare.
My AppleTV is now up-to-date and I hope everyone else is able to do the same.

  • Z30 & BB Link not syncing Contacts and Calendar with Outlook 2010

Just loaded Outlook 2010 and went to sync my Z30 with BB Link.
    1st attempt :
Configuration  :  Contacts : 2 way sync : Notify me when there are any conflicts
Calendar : 2 Way sync : Always use device data
    Result :
    No sync with Contacts
    No sync with Calendar
(Also, Contacts disappeared until I restarted device.)
    2nd attempt :
Same config. however no disappearing contacts this time.
Started sync at 6PM and at 8PM the sync appeared to have hung as it did nothing and there was no indication of any activity.
    Result :
No sync & restarted Link and logged in again to try again.
    3rd attempt :
Changed to one way from device to computer
Added Outlook to the files it looks in even though it already says it does that in the config. Section of the contacts.
Result  :  Still no contacts or calendar thought it showed it was doing the transfer.
After each of these I have shut down Outlook in case a restart would show the contacts.
    Running out of ideas here.

Mind sharing the version of your OS and BlackBerry Link?

  • How to force a restore of contacts and calendar events from Palm Profile? (and memos and tasks!)

Yesterday I had to do a partial erase restart of my beloved Palm Pre.  In the past I have had to do full data restorations, and have had no problems at all.  This time, however, my Pre did not recover the dozens of contacts saved in my Palm Profile, nor did it recover any of the Palm Profile calendar events (and all my memos are gone, as well as tasks).  I've tried using the "synch" button in the contacts preferences dialog box, but it did nothing.  Does anyone know if it is possible to "force" a full recovery of your data from the Palm Profile backup, or if there is a way to access that data online somehow?  Much of my contact data I have successfully migrated through seven previous Palm PDAs and phones...it would be too painfully ironic if I've now lost all of that data just because I bought a Palm Pre and trusted the Profile backup system...
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

It's 12 am eastern time, and their servers are still down. This is strike 2 for the Palm pre (webOS) for me.

  • Help!  I backed up my new iphone 4s and all my existing contacts and calendar events from my old iphone.  Everything transferred but now I don't have the option to edit my contacts or calendar and I can't add any new contacts or events to my calendar.

The "edit" box and "+" symbol don't even show up in my calendar or contacts so I can't edit or add in either.

Assuming you activated iCloud, try going to Settings>iCloud and make sure Calendars and Contacts are set to ON.
