ICloud with 2 Apple ids (1 very old)

When Apple kicked off many years ago I set up an Apple ID with my work email address.  I no longer work at that Employer and have since changed my Apple ID to a generic email address.
Problem is, on my devices (iMac and iPad) I am consistently asked to sign into iCloud - using my old work email address.
Under system preferences on my Mac, it asks me to enter password for my old Apple ID - I have no idea what this is.  And I cannot ask for password re-sets as it would go to my old work email address - and I would never receive as I no longer work there.
On my iPad (within Settings) it references both my gmail Apple ID (the correct one) and my old work id.  It is 'Verifying' - so the system looks like it is trying to do something as it simply spins/buffers.  It says.
ACCOUNT NOT VERIFIED
Check  your email at [email protected] for instructions to verify this account.
Check Email
iCloud
Account    (and it references my OLD work email)
So - in the above scenario - my iCloud tab in Settings is calling out both ids.
I simply want to use my current Apple ID for everything - but I am struggling to figure out how I tell my systems that my old work id is no longer relevant for anything in my life.
Can anyone assist ??  Please ???  thanks..dt

On the iMac go to the System/iCloud preference pane and (if you're not signed it) sign in with your current Apple ID.  If you are signed in then sign out and back in with the ID you want to use.
Do the same on the iPad, sign out if signed in and then sign in with the correct ID.

I changed my apple id, but my ipad does not allow me to change it for Icloud, so I can't  edit my account so I can access Icloud. I was told at Apple store that I could use both Apple ids, but my old one is no longer recognized on the appleid website, so my password for my old apple id won't work.
    Any suggestions?

If you only changed the name of your ID rather than creating a new ID, just go to Settins>iCloud and tap Delete Account then sign back in with the new name.  (Deleting the account from your phone does not delete it from iCloud.  Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)
If you created a new ID, you'll have to go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.)  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to your new account.
You won't lose any photos in your camera roll or photo library.  If you have any photos in your photo stream that are over 30 days old that are not in your camera roll or saved on your computer, be sure to save these to the camera roll before deleting the account.  To do so, open the photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you need to save to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

  • Hello, I got a new computer with the old harddisk. Can't play my itunes music because not authorised. Apple ID is very old e-mail adress that doesn't exist anymore. When chose for secret question brth date seems wrong. Can't reach anyone!!!

Hello, I got a new computer with the old harddisk. Can't play my itunes music because not authorised. Apple ID is very old e-mail adress that doesn't exist anymore and I forgot the password (5 years old??). When chose for secret question birth date seems wrong. Tried everything. I need to make a new apple-id but cannot connect the music that I bought under my old name to my new name. Can't reach anyone!!! Automatic FAQ system is of no help. What to do?

That doesn't help me. For itunes it brings me to the express lane which doesn't help because my case is not in it. It's all standard procedure things. I understand those but my situation is different. The combination of a passport forgotten and an non-existing email adress (and birth dates that are not correct or not accepted). What I need is my password emailed to another email adress than the original one because that no longer exists.

  • HT4436 how to login Icloud with apple ID on windows 7

how to login Icloud with apple ID on windows 7

If you use the same Apple ID for iCloud on each device, yes. However, you can use the same Apple ID for iTunes content on each device, but different Apple ID's for iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc., on each device. That way, you can have whatever iTunes content you want on each phone, but keep all of the other data separate. You can create another Apple ID here:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId?loca lang=en_US
Must be a verified email address.

  • Help with Apple IDs and iTunes please

One family member has an iPad2 with one Apple ID that is authorized in iTunes on a Win7 laptop.  That laptop has one Windows user account.  Some apps, books, etc were purchased with that iPad2.
We recently got a hold of an old iPhone to use as an iPod Touch / super-mini iPad-Mini.  Can I use a separate Apple ID for that iPhone on the same Win7 laptop in the same iTunes as above?  So can iTunes (the program) on one computer be authorized for multiple Apple IDs?  No apps, music, etc need to be shared.
    Thank you!

If she doesn't have an iCloud account on her iPhone or iPad now, you can just go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with a different Apple ID to set up the new account, then turn on the data that you want to sync with iCloud.  She can continue to use the same ID for the App and iTunes store; it doesn't need to be the same as the the ID she uses for iCloud.
If she is already sharing your iCloud account on her devices, you should go to Settings>iCloud on her phone, tap Delete Account (which only deletes the account from her phone, not from iCloud), when prompted choose Keep on My iPhone, then set up a new account by signing back in with a different Apple ID.  Then turn on the data she wants to sync with iCloud, and when prompted, choose Merge to upload her data to the new account.  After doing this on her phone, go to Settings>iCloud on her iPad, tap Delete Account, when prompted choose Delete from my iPad, then sign into the new account just created on her phone using the new ID and turn on her data syncing to sync the iCloud data in the new account to her iPad.  Finally, if you have any merged data in your accounts from sharing the original account, you'll need to go to icloud.com on your computer, sign into each iCloud account separately and delete the data you don't want from each account.

  • HT204053 how to merge iCloud and Apple IDs?

How can I merge my iCloud and Apple ID's?

I just got off the phone with Apple's support (got transferred several times, but they finally transferred me to an "expert" in the security department.
I'm moving to the east coast, and my current ISP is only local to the California Bay Area, so I need to use a new email address for my AppleID.  I thought the obvious choice would be my icloud.com email address.
The Apple support "expert" was confused, but eventually said I'd need to create a non-apple email to use as my email address for my existing AppleID if I didn't want two separate ID's.
My response was "So Apple is recommending that I do NOT use iCloud and I should create an non-Apple email account?"  He said "Unfortunately, yes."
Come on Apple - you look riduculous.  You're abandoning loyal long time customers by saying either create and manage two AppleID's or don't use "iCloud" so you can have a single AppleID.
It's time for Apple to step up and fix this ridculous mess.

  • I need help with restoration of two very old photos.

The first photo, dated 1883, is printed on cardboard. The picture is faded of course, but it appears the cardboard fibers are showing through. Any attempt to sharpen just sharpens the fibers. I tried replacing the color of the fibers and that didn't work either.
The second photo, again very old, has been creased and wrinkled as though someone balled it up in their hand. It is black and white. I haven't a clue on how to fix this.
    Thank you for any help
    Frances

Are you sure you are seeing the cardboard fibers or was the photo
printed on imitation canvas & that is what you are seeing. Either way
about all you can do is use the smudge tool set at one pixel & go around
& smooth out what looks like fibers or just leave it looking like canvas.

You can try ironing the photo to get it flat. Place the photo face down
on a flat smooth surface & place a moist paper over the back & iron with
a warm iron until most of the wrinkles are out. Then scan it at about
300 DPI. You can then either use the smudge tool in paint mode to fill
the cracks or use a small paint brush.

  • I have a new Mac book and am getting emails from zip line about cloud.  I thought I have iCloud with Apple?

What is zip cloud?  I have a Mac Book from last June and get emails from zip cloud, I thought I have iCloud with my Mac.
    Do I need zip cloud?

    Do I need zip cloud?
No. It's spam. If you installed "ZipCloud," see below.
To remove ZipCloud, start by backing up all data (not with ZipCloud itself, of course.)
Quit the application, if it's running, and drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.jdibackup.ZipCloud.autostart.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Trash.
In the same folder, there may also be a file named
               com.jdibackup.ZipCloud.notify.plist
Move that to the Trash as well.
Log out or restart the computer and empty the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • How can I use transfer mobileme to icloud with new iphone 4s and old computers

I have a mobileme account that I use to sync calendars, contacts, etc between my 3gs, emac, and Powerbook G4.
    (Processor Name:          PowerPC G4  (1.2)
      Processor Speed:          1.67 GHz)
Just bought a new 4s and want to know if these old machines will work with the icloud?  If not, what can I do to keep stuff in sync?

Your system don't meet the requirements.
iCloud requires iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad, or iPad 2; a Mac      computer with OS X Lion; or a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Outlook 2007 or 2010 or an up-to-date      browser is required for accessing email, contacts, and calendars). Some features require a Wi-Fi connection.      Some features are not available in all countries. Access to some services is limited to 10 devices.

  • Can Log Into ICloud with Apple ID - but wrong Apple ID is shown in Account Settings

So no problem logging into my wife's ICloud account with her regular AppleID and password. Once within her ICloud account, when you click on her name ("profile icon") in upper right corner - her Apple ID in the bottom field is not her Apple ID. My assumption is that it should be her normal Apple ID, (which is an AOL email address), correct? How can we fix this?
The Apple ID that currently shows is actually a "mistake" that has no password associated with it. It was created when I made an [email protected] email address for our daughter, so she could have her own Apple ID for FaceTime on her iPod. When creating that [email protected] address on her iPod, it told me that the name was already taken, and offered me an alternative, which I agreed to. So now there must be the original owner of this [email protected] address that is now associated within my wife's ICloud Account.
How do I fix this error?
<<<<<Additional information - I created a Family Calendar and shared it with her AppleID and it did sync up with both of our new iPhone 5s, but now if I enter an event on my phone, it won't go to her phone. However, if she makes an event on her phone, it does pop up on my phone. Also, If I make an event within my ICloud Calendar, it goes on both of our phones.>>>>>
Please Help with a solution - ICloud is a great concept...

Also, we are unable to Share any of her calendars, Error reads that "there is a server error, try again"
I assume it is all related...

  • How can I unlink my iCloud and apple IDs?

When i signed up for an iCloud account, i linked it to my apply ID. Now, knowing that I can't make the iCloud my primary email, I want to separate the two. Unfortunately, I havent had any luck. Every time that I remove the email, and try to log into the iCloud one as a separate account, it simply logs me back into the original Apple ID, even though there is no 'secondary email' filled in. Eventually, the iCloud email appears again as the 'secondary' email, which is SO FRUSTRATING! I cant separate them as much as I've tried! Please help me!!

If I'm understanding you correctly, you created an iCloud account with an AppleID (like, [email protected]). Then, once you did that, you created an iCloud e-mail address - and you are trying to separate this part of your account into its own iCloud account. Sadly, this is not possible. That e-mail address is eternally linked up to your other AppleID. No need in creating a separate AppleID just to keep those separated, it would just overcomplicate things for you - especially if you've made iTunes Store purchases with the AppleID in question, as you can't transfer purchases or merge accounts. Hope this information helps. If not, let us all know.

  • Can I use the Icloud with Apple TV ?

I want to play music stored in the cloud directly on my Apple TV.  Can it be done ?? Thanks

    bobby....
Can you clarify this for us.
Firstly is the menu iCloud or is it Music with an iCloud Library listing in it.
Does this work with iTunes purchased music or do you need to sign up for music match.
This feature appears to only be available in the US, therefore the assumption is it requires music match since we here in the UK and other places don't have it, but on other devices we do have access to purchased music.

  • ICloud access/apple ids

I recently updated my apple id to my new email address.  iCloud reflects my old apple id.  Old apple id password does not work.  It's like I don't exist in iCloud anymore.  how do I get my stuff?

OK, so the Apple ID on your iCloud is what your current Apple ID used to be, or it is a different ID altogether?
