ICloud won't sync podcasts?

My Podcasts don't seem to sync through icloud.  When I look under the setting on my iphone it only lists Music, Apps and Books.  Am I not able to do this for podcasts? Or is podcasts somehow categorized under music and I am missing another setting to sync those.  Thanks for all the help!

The following items are not backed up to iCloud. You can sync these items with a computer using iTunes:
Music and TV shows not purchased from the iTunes Store
Movies, podcasts, and audio books
Photos that were originally synced from your computer

iPod nano won't sync podcasts from iTunes after I "Restored" the iPod.

If you've read the Technical Specification you will find that the nano can only use Firewire for charging, not for syncing:
    http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/specs.html
"Charging via USB or FireWire to computer system or power adapter (sold separately)"
So you can rule that out.

  • HT4858 Photostream/iCloud won't sync with PC.

Photostream/iCloud won't sync with PC. Everything is turned on, works for iPhone and iPad just not PC. Do not want to wipe phone to fix what should be a simple (and paid for) thing. Used to work fine but hasn't in a couple of months, even though no settings were changed. Please help

I have the same issue. My photos stopped on Nov.9th.
I just deleted and reinstalled version 3.1 and it took 90 pictures from my Photostream and transfered them to my PC
Thing is that I have 318 pics in my Photostream. The synching works fine between my iPhone 5S, iPad2, iPhone 3G and iPhone 5.
My wife is getting a iPad Air for Xmas so no idea of how it will work then but I assume it will be no problem.
I have Windows 7 and so does my mom on her laptop and PC which I also connected so I don't have to send her pics but she can just check. I had to update both machines to 3.1 and they only grabbed 85 pictures.
This is quite annoying when you live 500 kilometers apart and all worked fine until the latest updates.
Please Apple fix this asap as it's a lifeline for families all over the world

  • ITunes 11.1.5 won't sync podcasts to my 6th gen ipod nano--how do I fix this?

iTunes 11.1.5 won't sync podcasts to my 6th gen ipod nano--how do I fix this?
Until a few months ago, my iTunes had no problem syncing podcasts to my 6th gen ipod nano. Since an update in the iTunes software version (not sure which version), iTunes just won't sync podcasts to the nano. No other changes have occured and only podcasts are affected.
What's going on? How do I fix this?

I had the same problem with my nano when I updated to itunes 11.1.5. It seems that the update does not transfer all of your podcast download preferences. Open itunes, select "Podcasts" from the drop down box in the upper left of the screen. The next screen will give you an option to select "My Podcasts" (top center). This will bring up a list of your podcasts on the left. Right click on one and select "podcast settings". This brings up a settings box on the upper right (this is a new variation) with your current download settings for that podcast. The download setting on mine had defaulted to "off" on all of my podcasts. I just reset them to "all episodes" and all is good.
    Hope this helps.

  • Icloud won't sync with my iMac 2013

    Hi everybody
Maybe someone can help me out with the following issue. I bought me an Imac 27'' one month ago to replace my macbook pro which had become to small concerning the screen. I used the migration assistant to copy all of my data to my new Imac and everything went smooth except for my contacts. Icloud won't sync any addresses into the contact application and neither can I use a backup file to get my contacts into the application. Everything else works just fine with Icloud. I already tried to deactivate Icloud and reactivate it, but none did work. I thought that the update to 10.8.3 might help...but no it didn't. So here I am hoping that maybe someone out there might help me with this I'm sure tiny issue.
Greetings from Luxembourg and thanks in advance for your help.

  • Itunes 10.6.3 won't sync podcasts

i downloaded itunes version 10.6.3.25 on monday, 9/10/12,  to my computer (running windows xp with current service pack) and now my podcasts won't sync.  anybody have any ideas for a cure?  i've deleted and reinstalled itunes several times, rebooted, yelled at the computer, etc.

thank you for your persistence and no digs assumed.
Is this all Podcasts or only certain ones? (Example title please. I'll try it) all podcasts with current subscriptions (e.g. bbc world service; the rachael maddow show; washington week; wait, wait...don't tell me [from NPR])
Are you downloading these problem Podcasts by using the Get (episode) button in iTunes or are you subscribed to the Podcast series in iTunes? subscriptions...using the refresh button
Is it certain episodes or all episodes of a Podcast series? i'm attempting to get the episodes i've not yet downloaded
Have you previously tried to download that particular episode? i've attempted both the 'refresh' function and the 'update podcast' option availabie on right-click from the particular broadcast.
What exactly happens when you attempt to download an episode? When you press the Get button (or describe what you do), does the episode begin to download, or at least show momentarily, in the Download pane?  whirling arrows appear next to some podcasts.  dotted circles appear next to others.  no episodes appear and the arrows will spin for hours if i let them.  i can't send a screen shot since the format isn't supported by this forum
i know that the mp3 files aren't really podcasts.  i've dragged them into the music file for my ipod so that at least i can listen to them while i'm working.  desperate times call for desperate measures.
when i click itunes help, the pop-up screen is blank. when i attempt to update the version (knowing that i have the current itunes version but testing nevertheless) i receive an error message saying that the itunes server cannot be found.  i've deleted itunes from my downloads, cleared my discard bin, and re-installed itunes.  wash, rinse, repeat - the outcomes remain the same.
as an aside, i've attempted to unsubscribe to bbc and then re-subscribe.  now i can't re-subscribe.  groan. itunes threatens another update on the 17th.  perhaps that will help.  it couldn't possibly make things worse.

  • Won't sync podcasts?

Since the update, I had to put in all of my non-purchased music again, which was fine. After syncing after the update, I still kept my podcasts. Today, I got some new podcasts, and they won't sync. I haven't gotten any new episodes in the older podcasts either. How do I get rid of the older podcasts and just keep the new ones and let those sync like they should? There's no error message or blocking, it just doesn't sync the Podcasts and iTunes U.

The old podcasts tay - but never update.
I'm trying to get the new ones in, but I tried many times - they don't!

  • Outlook and iCloud won't sync since Windows 8.1 upgrade

So I've finally figured out my problem, but have no solution. The problem is that ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1, Outlook "forgets" that the iCloud add-in is enabled. Every time I start Outlook, I have to manually go into options and re-enable the add-in. After that, syncing calendars and contacts to iCloud and my iPhone works just fine. In order to fix this, I figured out that I can set Outlook to run as an administrator. Works perfectly, as in now having the add-in enabled automatically. I thought this was the end of my troubles, but now Outlook no longer syncs with iCloud. Tried everything, and it just won't.I read on another thread that Outlook won't sync when you run it as an administrator. And sure enough, switching back to NOT running it as an administrator fixed the problem, in that it now syncs again. However, I'm stuck with re-enabling the add-in every time I start Outlook. Is there no other way to do this?

I don't use playlists. Maybe as a workaround you could try music software other than Windows Media Player, like Media Monkey
    http://www.mediamonkey.com/
And see if you have better luck.
The free version of Mediamonkey should  do playlists for you; what you get with the Gold (paid) version, mostly, is an mp3 ripper, but you can also install an mp3 ripper without buying it.

  • ICloud won't SYNC

I have just upgraded to Lion and migrated to iCloud from Mobile Me - Mail works well but my calendar and address book won't sync - I have checked all of the blocks in the iCloud system preferences - any ideas what to try next?

Open System Preferences then click Mobile Me.  If it says you are moved to cloud then just make sure you are signed out.  If you are NOT signed out, click sign out.
Sign in to cloud in a web browser and check hyour calendars there.  If they are good there... go to System Preferences and sign out of the cloud.  If not, back up your local calendars in iCal.  Then sign out of cloud and back in (in System Preferences, keeping contacts as long as they are all good in cloud, else back those up locally too).
MobilleMe sometimes just doesn't get signed out and tries to keep syncing.

  • ICloud won't sync with Office Documents on Windows Desktop - A huge limitation

I'm not able to sync my Macbook and iPhone to the Office documents on my Windows desktop. I want to use Pages on both my iPhone and Macbook to edit the Word documents I store on my Windows desktop.
This is very limiting and would force me to find another solution (I know many in this same situation). What will Apple do to address this?

Thanks Csound1. That's what I figured out. It is unfortunate, since I really wanted to use iCloud.
There are several other cloud services that support syncing documents between a Windows, OSX, and iOS platform without any restrictions. I could use them to cloud sync documents from my Windows desktop to either my iPhone or Macbook, and then use Pages, Numbers, or Keynote to update . The only tricky part is syncing it back to the cloud from my iPhone, which requires me to email the updates back and then manually update the sync file using sync management software (either Mac or Windows). Somewhat clugy and error prone, but it works until a better solution emerges. Perhaps a solution is around the corner -Microsoft is now developing new Office Suite products for iOS, OSX, and Windows, so perhaps this will be able to provide true cross platform compatability that many businesses need along with seamless cloud syncing.
I really hope Apple soon supports iCloud syncing of Office files to Windows. iCloud already supports syncing with Outlook on the Windows platform, so I can't see why Apple won't support syncing Office documents to a Windows platform. Every other cloud service supports this.

  • ICloud won't sync to my iPad. Worked fine last night!?

My iCloud works fine on my iPhone5, but it won't sync with my iPad. It started last night. I have followed the instructions on the support site, deleted and reinstalled several times and nothing. Argh! Any advice?? I have an important email hanging in the outbox. Thanks!!! :)

I have installed iCloud on my miniMac, my iPhone, and my iPad 2.  When I can't a doucment on my iPhone or iPad, both are updated, but my Mac won't sync with either the iPhone or iPad.  Can anyone tell me how to make all three (Mac, iPhone, and iPad) directly with each other for documents?

  • Won't sync podcasts in Vista, but will sync music

    Vista x64 build 5744. Itunes 7.0.1
Everytime I sync the ipod and go into the podcast section of the ipod via itunes and set it to sync podcasts and hit apply I get the following error:
The ipod "archer75's iPod" cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-50).
Any ideas on how to fix this? I mainly use my ipod for listening to podcasts.

Thank you for your response. Yes, it very well could've been iTunes 9.
Okay, I got the first part of your workaround. I unchecked the "Automatically include" checkbox in the Podcasts tab.
However I don't see where "Include Episodes from Playlists" option is. I've checked my playlist I want to sync in the Music tab under Playlists, but I obviously need to do something else because it's still not syncing. Where do I find that?

  • IPad won't sync podcasts marked 'explicit'

I've had tons of trouble syncing podcasts to my iPad2. I thnave 21 appearing in iTunes, and on the iPad as it's listed in iTunes. But on the actual iPad there are only 5 showing. Is it a coincidence that these are the only 5 that are not marked 'explicit?' Is there a setting I can change that will allow the podcasts to sync to my iPad?
I've created both a regular and a smart playlist, plus just allowed the podcasts to sync as normal. It's always seemed pretty random which ones actually show up on the iPad or not. But today I noticed the 'explicit' thing.
Please help! This is driving me crazy not being able to listen to all my podcasts.

in iTunes or on the iPad? (will be doing both, as I'm sitting here but thought I'd check...)
YOU FIXED IT! Thank you...I didn't realize I had a restriction set on the iPad. All podcasts are showing now.

  • ICloud won´t sync all contacts with Mac

    Hardware and software involved:
Macbook Pro (bit older model) with fully updated Lion
iPhone 4 with fully updated newest iOS
    Situation:
There are all contacts in iCloud. iPhone synces without issue and has all contacts in adress book. On Mac many contacts are missing.
    Tested solutions on Mac:
    1) Turned iCloud account off and on - no result, no change, iCloud still synces only some contacts
    2) Turned iCloud adress book syncing on (while deleting all contacts on Mac) - no result, no change, iCloud still synces only some contacts
    3) Deleting user/Library/applicationsupport/adress book - adress book synced more contacts (and different ones) then before, but still not all... Maybe around 1/2 contacts from iCloud.
Looking for help, I´m out of ideas. This is not some trivial error like looking in wrong tab at Adress Book (for example looking to On My Mac).
    Thank you.

If your only issue is with duplicates I would go to your address book and click on the "red marker" up on the window. That should get you into main directory. There you should see at least two main lists:
    On My Mac
    iCloud
If you click on iCloud, there should be all entries with no duplicates - check if all your contacts are there. Then go to On My Mac and delete all contacts there. Problem solved (and if you have iPhone don't sync contacts over cable if you have iCloud sync active, that's where my duplicates came from).
My issue was more complicated. It started with duplicates which I have deleted as described above. Then I noticed I have all contacts on my iPhone and I can see all contacts on iCloud web page but in Mac there was only about half of them.
So after trying stuff for some time I have solved it by
    1) deleting all contacts from Mac and turning iCloud off on Mac
    2) copying all contacts from iPhone to Mac over cable to On My Mac directory
    3) deleting all contacts from iPhone and iCloud manually, turning iCloud on iPhone off
    4) copying all contacts from Mac back to iPhone
    5) deleting all contacts from Mac (On My Mac)
    6) turning iCloud on again and uploading contacts from iPhone to iCloud
    7) turning iCloud on again on Mac and leting Mac sync
Complicated stuff, it's few days so I hope I have not forgotten something.
