ICloud won't validate due to expired email account

I have an iPhone 4s and iCloud is asking me to sign in however my old email no longer exists so I'm unable to validate my account.  How do I shut down that account and validate the new iCloud account I have access to?

Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.  Then log in using a different ID.

  • ICloud won't let me delete my emails?

    I have read all my emails and after I am finished with them I hit delete and they are removed for a minute then I go back in to my inbox and they are all still in there. HELP I need to clean up my inbox ASAP!!

    I had a family pack but now I am not able to reach my son's email account. How can I find and transfer it? Or how can I open a new email account for my son through my icloud id.     Each sub-account of a MobileMe Family Pack should have been individually migrated to iCloud before August 1st last. Assuming that you didn't do this, you should be able to reactivate the address (though not retrieve its previous contents) by signing in with it in System Preferences>iCloud and enabling Mail - your son should do this on his own Mac or his own user account if he is using your Mac. It's not clear whether he will be able to reactivate the @me.com version or only get an @icloud.com version. (It would be useful to know, when he tries it.)
    If he did migrate the account to iCloud then signing in in the same way should retrieve the contents and the @me.com address should work.
    Alternatively he can just create a new Apple ID (for which he will need a new non-Apple email address) if he doesn't already have one, and sign in with that, enabling Mail and choosing a new @icloud.com address.
    You should note that in none of these cases does his account have anything to do with yours (there is no need for a Family Pack equivalent in iCloud as it's free at basic level).
    You could add an email alias to your account, but it's not a good idea as it will mix his emails up with yours and he won't be able to detach it later.

    My wife has an ipad 2. I am trying to add memory to her cloud plan, but when I go to settings and try to add the storage, it asks me for a password for an email address that is no longer active. I have done settings -> itunes & app store -> clicked the apple ID -> signed out -> signed back in with her current email, but this doesn't change it for when I try to add the cloud storage.     So, you go to Settings -> iCloud, yes?
    At the top of the page, next to "Account", there's that 'expired' email of yours, yes?
    At the bottom of the page, there's that bar named "Delete", yes?
    And it's red, yes?
    So, you can tap on it, yes?
    And then you are being offered to delete the account, yes?

    I have two iTunes accounts, when I started using iCloud, it started up with my second account, but I want it on my other one. So I deletaccounts icloud account, and tryed to start up one my itunes account I wanted to use, but it won't let me log in with it. I try to type it in and it says "this iCloud account is all ready set up on your iPad". But it comes up with the wrong one (iTunes account I don't want to use). Will I just have to use the ther account?

    If the old ID ("username") is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Pdf attachments do not come through on iCloud mail but they do on other email accounts on same device

    I have several email accounts set up that appear on all my devices: iMac, iPhone and iPad.  I use 2 email accounts for work purposes, and good thing I use two. I receive pdf attachments in non-apple email accounts, but the same email sent to my iCloud address comes through minus the attachment and shows only "winmail.dat".  I am using the same device to read the email from the different accounts, but the problem is consistent with all my apple devices. This has to be a setting in iCloud mail but I can not figure it out. Please help.

    Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.
    If the basic troubleshooting steps don't work, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.

    Check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether.

    Aye you absolutely sure you are using the correct account name and password ?
    Ordinarily just clearing History will not prevent you using webmail.
    If you use the History option to forget about the site it would clear everything from the History of that site including: cookies, the site address and the login details

    In fact recording all the details then using the forget site option can be a good trouble shooting step to gain access to a site. Or try an alternative browser.
    If someone has taken control of your account you will need to that up urgently with Google. You will need your security details to hand. You may also need to consider what else may be compromised

    There is a difference between the verification code need to login to BestBuy.com and the verification email needed to complete the linking process.  If you are able to login to BestBuy.com, then you can just ignore the verification code.  I noticed while looking over your account that you actually have two active My Best Buy™ accounts and one of them is already linked to your BestBuy.com account, which likely explains why you are not receiving the verification email.

    Additonally, at this point I really want to talk to someone who cares about how a customer like I might feel in such a situation and when I call corporate would like to talk to someone who is interested in hearing my input as it really sucks to think I really don't feel like going to the store anymore and would rather just buy stuff on amazon or newegg these days instead;/  When I know how much i used to enjoy going into the store and getting friendly with kind staff who worked with me to get the best deal on the items I got--perhaps this was because it was at a more desperate time when Best Buys fate as a company was more precarious prior to price matching taking origin.  Also, on an aside, would like to add that obviously there is always the one or two people who go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent expeirenece so I am not trying to make any sweeping generalizations here.  In fact, I find the forum contributors to be among the most kind and helpful, but that might be because they don't have to deal with the now seemingly dreaded "pricematch" epidemic;D
