ICM CallRouter Question

Dears,
I would like to restart ICM CallRouter 7.2.7, it is duplexed, as there is no synchronization between them
My question is, do I restart the routers only or should I compain this restarting loggers, HDS, PGs........?
Also, is there a procedure to keep the account working during this downtime, for example shutdown the services of RouterA and keeping RouterB? or the account will face a problem
Appreciate your help as usual,
Regards,

Hi Goeff,
Thanks so much for usual supprt
Really I have a problem with number of trunks I get from Avaya side through AES after ICM switch went down, we doubt that the router no synch anymore
We have integration with Avaya through AES and RTA, and Cisco PG
We restarted the routers today, but we still have the same issue, but of course we getting the number of trunks from Avaya AES (Avaya CTI) as based on the number of idle trunks we make intelligent routing
Right now, I want to ask you, you have idea about how to get the input data which come to router from another vendor, like Avaya........? to make sure that I receive the trunks info correctly
Appreciate your usual support and sorry for inconvenience

Mohamed

  • ICM port question

    Hi forum,
I am facing a strange behaviour in the ICM at a double stack installation.
The ICM ABAP port is 8100(<ABAP_PORT>) and the J2EE port is 51000 (<J2EE_PORT>). Now when I call a ULR http://<HOST>:<J2EE_PORT>/nwa I am reaching the NWA. So far so good.
But when I am using http://<HOST>:<ABAP_PORT>/nwa I am also reaching the NWA. I would have expected, that when using the ABAP port the side would not get displayed.
Why does this work... some profile params I don't know yet?
    Thank you!
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
You have to tell the ICM where is the J2EE engine and on which port.
This is done with this profile parameter :
        icm/HTTP/j2ee_<xx> = PREFIX=<uri prefix>, [HOST=<host>,]
                             PORT=<port>, CONN=<number of connections>
                             [, SSLENC=<n>, TYPE=<t>, CRED=<file>,
                                SPORT=<HTTPS port> ]
For example on my test dual stack XI system :
    icm/HTTP/j2ee_0 =
    PREFIX=/,HOST=$(SAPGLOBALHOST),CONN=0-500,PORT=5$$00
    Hope this helps.

  • Router Error Codes

Hello, I am trying to find one of my router error codes, however I can't seem to locate the manual below.
Can someone tell me how to find it?
Error code from the ICM CallRouter process. For information about a specific Router ErrorCode, refer to the Error Messages section of the *** ICM Master Help ***.
    Thanks!

    Barry,
This link should provide directions for looking up other codes...

  • Set Variable microapp media server

We have an ICM integration with CVP Server
where we are setting up user.microapp.media_server with value as "http://10.20.40.59:8080"
    Question 1
    ==========
Wanted to check do we need to set the IP address of media server anywhere in ICM Config(Apart from that being referenced in ICM Script)
    Question 2
    ==========
Under Network VRU Script List we have a column as Configuration param. What is that used for.
    Thanks
    Alok

    1. No
    2. It could me a lot of different things.  It all depends on what type of microapp you're going to use.  Look at the CVP Configuration Guide and you will find all the confic parameter values you will need.  For example, you will need to set the time out timer, the number of invalid retries, valid values, etc.

  • Question: sRGB color space profile icm

I am trying to convert a file to color space sRGB color space profile.icm. The profile is located in my library on my hard drive under recommended profiles but it does not appear in the drop down menu under edit/convert to profile. Any ideas about why? I have performed this task on my MAC  at my college but can't seem to do it on my MAC in my studio...

LR converts them to the colorspace specified on the Export panel.  There are several choices, including sRGB.  You may need to expand various sections to see the option.

  • Please help with an ICM script editor syntax question.

I need to modify a set variable node.  What I have now is Call.PeripheralVariable8+".wav" and this works.  What I need it to say is Call.PeripheralVariable8+anything+".wav" but when I insert an * for the anything it's seen as a multiplier.  What's the syntax to do this?  The anything I need to add is _9xxx where xxx are other numbers, but the _9 will be in all, if that helps any.  Thanks in advance !!

You can use the concatenate() function to build up your string, as you no doubt know.
As far as the wildcard goes ... your intention must be to try to SET the call variable and later on test the call variable with an IF node. Is that right?
You would be able to test parts of the string using the substr() function - which is based on character position. If that is a fixed value that you know, it's easy. If it's not, you can first use the find() function to locate something (like the "_9"), returning the position, and then use the substr() function to pull it off.
Can you write some pseudo-code here to define exactly your intention? You can set up a dummy script and send a dummy call through using Call Tracer and watch the output to see how your code is working.

    Carlos, Marta,
I really apologize for comming to you with a question not related (or just partially related) to the topic you are discussing. Unfortunately I need some advice for handling ICMS exception via table J_1BTXIC3 in our 4.6C system. I understand this SAP solution is working only for 4.7 version or above, so I could not get so far effective SAP advisory on how to deploy it in our system.
I have documented the details of our need in OSS meesage 910195 and here in SDN thread Issue with ICMS exception setup for Brasil in SAP 4.6C
While I noticed that you both have vast experience in ICMS questions I would kindly address my need to you. I really apologize for disrupting, but found no better way that this to get in touch.
Case of any comments I appreciate your response in above SDN ref. Thanks a lot in advance.

  • ABAP dispatcher, JControl and ICM

    As we know,
If an ABAP instance is started with an additional Java instance, the ABAP dispatcher uses a signal to run a start command on the Startup and Control Framework, then JControl is started, and  JLaunch is started by JControl.
In ABAP + Java stacks system, we start and stop Java instance with transaction SMICM.
In ABAP + Java stacks system, ICM is started and monitored by the ABAP dispatcher.
Until now, I am confused about their relationship. Please advise on following questions.
Q1: When ABAP dispatcher sends a signal to start/stop JControl, is there any relationship with ICM? I mean whether ICM takes a hand in?
Q2: How does ABAP dispatcher start and monitor ICM?
    Thanks so much.
    James

    Hi
When ABAP dispatcher sends a signal to start/stop JControl, is there any relationship with ICM? I mean whether ICM takes a hand in?
No It would not as ICM is only responsible for Internet communications. It doesnot take care of the internal communications.
The communication between the ABAP and J2EE is due to JCO rfc that is present between them.
Please read these links: These would clear some confusions:

  • SQL Questions (New to Cisco)

Hello. I work for Clarian Health in Indianapolis and am trying to learn as much as possible about the SQL databases, both AWDB and HDS so that I can handle the reporting for our Revenue Cycle Customer Service.
I am currently working my way through the Database Schema Handbook for Cisco Unified ICM /Contact Center Enterprise & Hosted. I’m also reviewing the explanation pages that are available for the reports on WebView. During my reviews, I have noticed a few things that confuse me.
    My questions are:
    1. Why do a majority of the tables on our SQL Server start with “t_”?
    2. Why do some of the tables have data on the AWDB server but not on the HDS server, and vice versa? (Examples: t_Agent and t_Agent_Team and t_Agent_Team_Member and t_Person are blank on the HDS database but not blank on the AWDB database; but the t_Agent_Logout is blank on the AWDB database and not blank on the HDS database)
    3. When data is moved to the HDS server every 30 minutes, is it also removed from the corresponding AWDB table?
    4. In review of the agent26: Agent Consolidated Daily Report syntax info located on the WebView, 1 of the calculations uses the LoggedOnTimeToHalf from the Agent_Half_Hour table while the remaining calculations uses the same field from the Agent_Skill_Group_Half_Hour table. Can you please tell me why this is? Why would all of the percent calculations not use the data from the same table? (The % of time Agent paused and/or put a task on hold uses the Agent_Half_Hour Table. All other % calculations uses the same field from the Agent_Skill_Group_Half_Hour Table.)
    5. Also in reviewing the agent26: Agent Consolidated Daily Report syntax info, I noticed that it contains the Skill_Group table, the Agent_Half_Hour table and the Media_Routing_Domain table. Both the Skill Group table and the Agen_Half_Hour table contain links to the Media_Routing_Domain table. Which relationship/join is actually utilized for this report?
    6. Why doesn't the LoggedOnTimeToHalf field on both the Agent_Half_Hour table and the Agent_Skill_Group_Half_Hour table have the same value in them?
    7. On the agent_26: Agent Consolidated Daily Report syntax explanation page, the Agent State Times: Log on Duration says that it is derived using the Agent_Half_Hour.LoggedOnTimeToHalf field, but when i convert this field to HH:MM:SS, it does not match the actual WebView report. But, when I use the Agent_Skill_Group_Half_Hour.LoggedOnTimeToHalfHour, it does match. Which one is correct?
    8. On the agent_26: Agent Consolidated Daily Report, why does the Completed Tasks: Transfer Out contain both the TransferredOutCallsToHalf and the NetTransferredOutCallsToHalf fields? What's the difference between the two? What Transfer out data writes to each field?
    Thank you.

You need to be careful when looking at the three databases - Logger, AW, HDS - which use the same schema. But many of what appear to be tables in the AW are really views into the t_ tables in the HDS - the data is not there in the AW DB. You are right to look at the schema - but check with SQL Enterprise to understand a bit more.
In essence, the AW DB is for configuration data and real-time data. The HDS is for historical data. You can query the AW DB for (say) Call_Type_Half_Hour data and join with the Call_Type table to resolve the call type ID into its name - but the data is really in the HDS through the view.
The DB design is quite complex and sophisticated - many things are not obvious.
    Keep up your research.

  • How to assign the dynamic value of PV to Sip Header in ICM?

    Hi everybody,
I would like to ask your help, please. We are working on Temporary IVR Handoff (ICM+CVP). I need to add/modify a customer Sip header in ICM transfer script. The value for that header is dynamic and stored in the one of ICM Call Peripherial Variables (PV9, for examle).
Is it possible somehow to assign the value of that PV9 to Sip header (Set Variable Call.SipHeader)? I tried to do it but unfortunally without any success. I can assign any static string, but how to assign the value of the PV??? That's the question...
For static string assignment the syntax of the Set Variable Node (Call.SipHeader) looks like that:
    "IVR-Handoff~add~It's Cisco"
    and it works fine.
For dynamic value (PV9) I tried:
    "IVR-Handoff~add~Call.PeripherialVariable9" - it add Call.PeripherialVariable9 as a string, but not it's value;
    "IVR-Handoff"~add~Call.PeripherialVariable9 - returns a syntax error;
Call.PeripherialVariable9 - no Sip header is added.
What do you think? Is it doable at all?
Any ideas, answers or examples how to do it would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
    Dmitriy.

    Hi Senthil,
Yes! It works, but with the little difference. The right answer is:
    "IVR-Handoff~add~"&Call.PeripherialVariable9
(Call.PeripherialVariable9 is without quotes, otherwise it insert the name of the variable, but not it's value)
The other solution is shown here (thanks to Paul Tindall):
    http://developer.cisco.com/web/cvp/forums/-/message_boards/message/15627744?p_p_auth=6psgR8ML
    concatenate("IVR-Handoff~add~",Call.PeripherialVariable9)
Thank you so much for the idea! I very appreciate your help and vote you.

  • Upgrade from ICM 6 to 7 (TR) -- Domain conversion tool / UMT

Hi, we are currently upgrading from 6 to 7.0 and subsequently to 7.5 (TR, new hardware, new domain, new instance).  So far we've staged our W2k3 domain and all the other soon to be ICM servers.
I'm currently trying to migrate the domain users and it tells me that I need to use the Domain Conversion Tool to go migrate the domain users from 6 to 7. (Staging guide chpter 4)
I can't find any documentation on the Domain Conversion Tool, when I run the executable I can see the different triggers (below) but that's it.
I've done an export and gotten a file but what next?
Do I do a convert now?
is the convert going to change my production database?
I'm also reading that the Domain Conversion Tool was replaced by the UMT (for 7.0 to 7.+).
Or should I now use the UMT and point it to my export file?
Im afraid to run the convert and and messing up my Rogger sideA database?
    Has anybody use this tool?
any tips and or documentation is appreciated.  Thanks
    D:\ciscoutils\domainCnvTool>domcvt
The syntax of this command is:
    DomCvt.exe /DB:dbname /F:filename /M:mode [/OD:old domain name]
              [/ND:new domain name][/P:password]
/DB:dbname           Specifies the database name to operate on (e.g. cust1_sideA)
/F:filename          Specifies the full path of the file to import or export to
/M:mode              Indicates export mode or convert mode
                             E  Export mode
                             C  Convert mode
The following switches are only needed in Convert Mode:
/OD:old domain name  Specifies the old domain name to convert from in NetBIOS form (e.g. MyDomain)
/ND:new domain name  Specifies the new domain name to convert to in NetBIOS form (e.g. MyDomain) or DNS form (e.g. MyDomain.mycompany.com)
/P:password          Specifies the default password to be set for all the users in the new domain
Use quotation marks when there are spaces in the file name or password

    Hi,
    From the 7.x(y) Staging Guide:
Common Steps Required before Migrating any ICM ComponentOn the Domain Controllers:
Confirm that Domain Controllers have been upgraded from NT Domain to Windows 2000Active DirectoryOn the CallRouter Server:
     \RouterA\Router\CurrentVersion\Configuration\Global\DBMaintenance.
    Note:
If moving a CICM with SideA and SideB disable the Configuration changes on bothsides.
    On the Logger server:
Copy the Domain Conversion Tool (DomCvt.exe) from the ICM 5.0(0) or ICM 6.0(0) Third-PartyTools CD as applicable (Domain Conversion Utility folder) onto the Logger server.
Export the ICM user list using the DomCvt tool using the following command:
    domcvt /DB:<instancename>_sideA /F:c:\DomConvert\userlist.txt /M:E.
And then lower down in the guide:
    On the Logger server:
    Step 18
Run the Domain Conversion Tool to convert the ICM users exported earlier, using the followingcommand:
domcvt /DB: <instance_name>_sideA /F:c:\DomConvert\userlist.txt /M:C /OD:<old_domain_netbios_name> /ND: <new_domain_netbios_name>Note: You can use the /p option to create a global password. If you do not use the /p option, the password is reset to null.
I'm looking to run this myself shortly. The only caveat with this info is that its extracted from the section related to ICM5 and migration from multiple to single forest ... so possibly not the correct info. However, there's not much documentation on this as you've seen!

  • ABAP Guys Question from JDEdwards ??

    Hi all,
I am trying to get into SAP, now the releases R3 4.6 and SAP Web server NetWeaver are confusing me.
NetWeaver is the latest technology , my question is
1- the DeveloperStudio "NetWeaver" will it be the Development platform for SAP in the future, or its just limited to certain need for WebServer and web applications only.
As you know the new ORACLE product "FUSION" is totally web based.
Is SAP future updates and new SAP products will be the <u>same WebBased</u> ?? in other words the next update of 4.6 will be 6.00 "NetWeaver".
Or am I mixing apples with Oranges ??
I am trying to get into SAP and learn it , but i  dont want to put my efforts on something thats going to change.
    Any explenation is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    You asked:
<b>1- the DeveloperStudio "NetWeaver" will it be the Development platform for SAP in the future, or its just limited to certain need for WebServer and web applications only.</b>
The simple answer is YES, it is the development platform for SAP in future. Support for development of web applications is only one of the many features it provides. It provides full support to develop applications using ABAP language (there is an Eclipse-based version for JAVA as well). Take a look at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/sap netweaver developers guide.booklet for further details on SAP NetWeaver Development Studio.
<b>2. Is SAP future updates and new SAP products will be the same WebBased ?? in other words the next update of 4.6 will be 6.00 "NetWeaver".
    </b>
The current release of SAP Web Application Server is 6.40. As the name itself tells, support for the WEB is native in all releases since 6.10. Prior to that, you had to look for options like ITS, Business Connector, etc to web-enable your R/3 applications. Now, since the introduction of ICM (Internet Communication Manager), ICF (Internet Communication Framework), SAP Web Dispatcher, you can enable any SAP application for Web.
Hope this helps. Do get back with questions if you have any more.

  • Passing ICM Call Variable info to CAD not working

    Hello,
we are running UCCE 7.2(7) with CAD 7.2(1) SR2 and we seem to be having an issue with the ICM Call Variable information being populated in the CAD.
Up until now, it's been working fine. We have our ICM scripts set ICM Call Variables 1, 2 and 3 and they all appear in the CAD when a call goes to an agent. But, just this morning, I added a new DN, mapped it to a scheduled script, and within that script I set that new DN (just like I've been doing with all the rest so far), set a Call Type, then call 'Go To Script' which is the actual script to handle that specific call.
Dialling that DN plays the correct script, and going into the Sales queue sends me to that agent, but no ICM Call Variable info is showing up.
So far this has been working, but now that I've added a new line, it appears to have stopped, but just for this new line, it still appears to be working for all existing lines.
    Any ideas anyone?

    Geoff,
we just have one Layout (default) listed in Enterprise Configuration - Enterprise Data in the Desktop Admin. The fields in this default Layout did not include any of the ICM Call Variables, so we added a few of them (that we set in ICM scripts). Up until now, these have been showing up in CAD when calls to skill groups come through. It's just now that I've added a new DN and ICM script, they are not showing up for that script only. The ICM Call Vars are working for all other DNs in the system, just not this new one.
Just to let you know, we upgraded ICM and CTIOS from 7.1(5) to 7.2(7) just recently, and with that we installed CAD 7.2(1) with SRs 1 and 2.
This is the 1'st time I've added a new line (DN) and ICM script to the system since that upgrade, so could that have something to do with this?
Also, there is a post where someone had this same issue (https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/1053394#1053394) and it was suggested that they shutdown and restart the CAD Services to resolve this.
My question is what services are in fact the CAD services? I would like to try that after hours tonight to see if that resolves this issue.
I verified via CAD that I'm running Build 7.2.1.200
    Any other suggestions?

  • The time needed to reload index is longer in ICM compare to RFC.

    Hi All,
Do you have the same experience in your company ??
Since we upgrade our system to SPS 18 than we need to change our communication manager to ICM from RFC.
Than we do a compare through different server with different SPS and communication manager.
Server A => Uses SPS 13 and RFC
    Server B => Uses SPS 18 and ICM .
When we finish doing index reloading, we compare the time to reload the index, and it's different.
    RFC is faster.
My Questions are what the factor that can make ICM longer than RFC ? Is that any common way that we can do to tune up the ICM ?
Thanks a lot and have a good day.
    Best regards,
    Daniel N.

    Hi Daniel,
please check TA TREXADMIN -> click on TREX ABAP Customizing
here you can check some ICM parameters and can do a net performance test.
Have you already tried to trace this connection via SMICM?
You can also do some checks and settings with the trex standalone tool; tab 'connectivity'

  • Unable to start ICM Configuration Manager in ICM 8.5

    Hi,
We are in the midst of setting the unified contact center 8.5.2 on windows server 2008 R2.
We are using CUCM 8.5. As for the icm 8.5.2, the servers are as follows:
    1. Router A & logger A & CMPG A & VRU PG A on 1 mcs 7845
    2. Router B & logger B & CMPG B & VRU PG B on 1 mcs 7845
    3. Administration/ Data server with HDS on 1 mcs 7845
All servers are running ms SQL server 2005 with sp2. When the instance and all components
were created, I could start all services on these 3 servers. But when I tried to open the
Configuration Manager, it showed an error "(-9959) The AWDB needs to be reloaded before
any operations may be attempted. Please run Initialize Local Database."
Then I tried to start the process in the Initialize Local Database windows, it threw out
another error saying "the pipe has ended" following by another message "the process is
    completed".
Then I tried o start the configuration manager or the script editor again, the same
problem still persists. I tried to recreate the Administration server & data server component again, but it
doesn't help. I also tried to delete the AWDB but it said the database in current in use.
Did I miss out any important steps here? Appreciate your help to rectify this issue ASAP.
I also noticed version 8.x and 7.5 is so much different. How do I check the each icm
process like the process window in version 7.5?
    Thanks & regards,
    Eric

Geoff is correct...and I would agree with David as well.
I will try to be more specific and answer both questions:
On Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 or higher is the requirement.
On Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4 or higher is the requirement.
The validation should be enforced in ICM Installer 8.0(1a).
Specifically, if SQL Server 2005 is detected on a machine and if the service pack is not minimally correct, when ICMCCInstaller version 8.0(1a) is run, the following severe error will be displayed to the user as well as being logged in the ICMInstall.log:
"[Error] Microsoft SQL Server 2005 installation does not have a high enough service pack.  Cisco Unified ICM/Contact Center Enterprise & Hosted requires Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack or greater."
where is 3 when running on Windows Server 2003 and 4 when running on Windows Server 2008 R2.
didn't you see this message when installing it?
The 8.0(1a) full installer contains the same file set as the 8.0(1) FCS version. The difference is in the InstallShield installer, which allows customers to install the product on Windows 2003 or Windows Server 2008 R2 (whereas the FCS version did not allow W2k8). Release 8.0(1a) completely replaces 8.0(1). End user documentation still just refers to 8.0(1) (i.e. you will not see reference to 8.0(1a)).
Note: 8.0(1a) does not have the complete working solution for Windows Server 2008 R2. You must apply the 8.5(2) or higher maintenance release in addition to 8.0(1a) to have a working solution. The MR contains bug fixes specific to Windows Server 2008 R2.
Now, how to see processes...well...say goodbye to that one as it is used to be
    No UCCE Process Windows
In Windows Server 2008 R2, session 0, where Windows services run, has no desktop. No user can login to session 0 as previously known as console. And since there is no desktop, no visible object of any type can be displayed. Among such objects are the UCCE process windows. Customers and TAC have long relied on the process windows to diagnose the system and provide a feel good indicator that the system is running. The title bars of some windows are critical for determining things like which side is active. The tracing provided in some windows sometimes made it easier to diagnose or monitor certain conditions, especially in reproduction during a maintenance window. The goal was to make this same information available in another way.
Diagnostic Framework Portico: Process Status Info (title bar)
The status of the UCCE processes is used to be shown in the title bar of the corresponding process window.  Since all UCCE process windows no longer show up in the taskbar, users are not able to use the process windows to check the status of the UCCE processes anymore.  As a result, process status information was added to the Diagnostic Framework Portico.
The Diagnostic Framework Portico is a web-based GUI that list the current running UCCE processes.
You can also access the Diagnostic Framework Portico by choosing All Programs > Cisco Unified CCE Tools > Diagnostic Framework Portico.
Note that the process status information is now displayed.  Additionally status changes and low uptime is highlighted. Uptime will be red if uptime is less than 10 minutes and yellow less than 30 minutes. These will also be underlined. This will help to identify cycling services. Status changes will be highlighted and made bold when a process's status changes. This highlighting will last for 10 minutes or until the status returns to its original state. Also as compared to the original page, the vertical space has been used more efficiently to fit more processes on a single page without scrolling. There is also a refresh checkbox which when checked will refresh the page every 5 seconds. It is checked by default.
    EMSMon: Process EMS Messages
In Release 8.5(2), for Windows 2008, process windows for ICM processes are no longer available. The title bar status information is available in the Diagnostic Portico; however, real time data does not appear there. To address this, Cisco recommends that partners and TAC use EMSMON as a replacement.
EMSMON has been with UCCE/ICM since the earliest versions of ICM. EMSMON displays logged messages from a process as they are logged. It displays the same content as the former process windows. The two exceptions are the title bar and stdout and stderr output. Events are logged for all processes and appear in EMSMON. However, rare error condition messages (shelled processes, and so on) that go to stdout do not appear in an EMSMON window.
You can start EMSMON while the process is up or down. If the process is down, EMSMON displays messages from the process when the process starts. EMSMON does not end when the process ends. To end EMSMON, press CTRL+C or close the window.
Note: To prevent ICM processes from queueing too many EMSMON messages and exceeding the system memory, ICM processes may drop queued EMSMON messages. If this happens, EMSMON clients display a message indicating one of the clients fell behind and there is a gap. This message is also logged in the processes event log. This can happen if a particular EMSMON client is too slow or paused by quick edit or ctrl/s for example.
    How to run EMSMON
EMSMON has the same parameters as procmon:
    *Instance/Customer Node process,[process] [System]
The System parameter is optional. You can use it to run EMSMON from a machine remote from where the process is running.
For example, if the Instance/Customer Node is ?ucce and you want to monitor the JTAPI gateway on PG1A, type the following:
    EMSMON ucce PG1A jgw1
If you are remote and the machine name is UCCEPG1A, type:
    EMSMON ucce PG1A jgw1 UCCEPG1A
Note: A trust relationship must exist between the two machines. (Use the “NET USE” command or something similar).
The following list includes some EMSMON facts:
EMSMON (like DUMPLOG) can monitor multiple processes. The use of EMSMON to monitor multiple processes is not discussed here.
A single EMSMON can monitor multiple processes and merge their output (for example, (jgw1 and pim1).
Multiple EMSMONs can watch a single process. For example, you can have a local (on box) EMSMON and a remote EMSMON. Cisco recommends that you use one EMSMON only for each process.
To reserve system resources for ICM processes, it is recommended that you run the EMSMON client on a remote machine that does not host ICM processes. For example, running EMSMON client on side A of a PG and connecting it to a process on side B of a PG is not recommended.
To run EMSMON on a remote machine, copy emsmon.exe, emsmon.pdb, and icrmessages.dll from c:\icm\bin and place them on a remote machine.
You can cut and paste just as in the command windows but it is safer in EMSMON.
You can start EMSMON at anytime, even when the process is not running. (You can have a batch file on a machine to start sessions.)
For history (events prior to EMSMON starting), use DUMPLOG.
To change the number of lines each EMSMON window retains, modify the command window parameters.
With EMSMON, you can have one local connection and five remote connections per process. When the number of connections is exceeded, the oldest session is disconnected with the following message ?You are being disconnected because another user has connected to this named pipe.
If your system is running a heavy call load, your EMSMON connections may disconnect and the following message appears: ? You are being disconnected because the system is running a heavy call load; this connection may impact the performance of the system. It is recommended that you do not reconnect your EMSMON sessions until your system returns to a normal call load
    Thanks,
    Goran
