ICMXX.tmp Files Are Taking Over My Temp Folder

When I open and close Lightroom, a new file of the format ICMXX.tmp where XX=hexadecimal number appears in my "C:\Documents and Settings\**User Name**\Local Settings\Temp" folder. Sometimes LR cleans them up, sometimes not. They are small, 1-4k size files, but I'm up to 15 so far. Anyone else collecting these in WinXP?

Yes, they're there, but my temp directory is about 300 megabytes, and the LR stuff is a minuscule fraction of that. I frankly don't see it as a problem.
Cheers,
Hal

I had restored my iPhone 5 to factory settings and that cleared the problematic "Other" problem.  Flash forward a couple weeks and the problem has once again resurfaced.
I tried updating iTunes and iOS to the newest versions and the problem still persists.
I'm officially ready to switch to Windows Phone or Android now...
    *edit*
A Google search with results restricted to the last month shows that this problem seems to be becoming more and more common.

  • ITunes Library - a third of my files are ghosted over (dups)

A  third of my files are ghosted over (dups) when in the get info mode. Files will play in itunes. In the iTunes media folder, when I right click file (A) it shows no windows logos in the dialog box. In the security tab it shows my computers name. When I right-click file (B) it shows windows logos in the dialog box. In the security tab it does not show my computer name, only a string of numbers. The single person logo has a little red question mark. So what is up with my Library?  Also what happens if I deauthorize the 5 computers using my account?

Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownneship from an account with administror privileges.

I've installed three times with no luck. I downloaded the Creative Cloud Packager off the licensing site: https://licensing.adobe.com. I unpacked and choose my applications. The install seemed to be successful, but I don't so any of the applications anywhere.

    Hi,
Creating package doesn't mean it will install the product,
You will need to install the package now. Please follow the instructions mentioned in the below articles

Please let me know if it doesn't help.

  • Black Area taking over screen

So whenever I press play in logic express this huge black area takes over the screen behind the play head and moves along with the playhead. I don't know what to do to get rid of this huge black/dark display.

It's virtually the same program these days.
It would help if the OP posted the version he/she was using and what updates are installed.

  • DMS: Documents opened in edit mode(CV02N) are not deleted from Temp Folder

    Hi All,
My query is whenever i edit documents like word, pdf or autocad files in cv02n, it make a copy in my c/windows/temp folder but doesnot delete them when it close the transaction. i have given PC data carrier with path as %Temp% & in profiles i have defined the path as c/windows/temp/
So is there any solution by which the files opened in the edit mode will be deleted when i close the transaction or else after some specified time it should get deleted from the temp folder. Is there any standard configration for it.
Note: I have tried the 741388 note but it is only for display mode documents.
    Regards
    Nishant.

    Hi Nishant,
unfortunately this is the standard behavior as for editing the application need a
temporary file and this file is still stored after closing the application to enable a re-checkin in the future too.
So the only possibility is to delete the temporary files from C:\Windows\Temp after some time manually. There is no functionality in the system standard as the SAP system has no control on the windows folders.
To achieve a very similar behavior you can set the "Delete after checkin" flag in transaction DC30 for this applications and see if this will meet your requirements.
This flag means that the original file gets deleted after you check them into a storage category. Maybe this could be usefull.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Downloaded files are not shown in the folder indicated in Options

"Options" shows that downloaded files should be in a a particular folder. I go to that folder via Windows Explorer and they're not there...other files are, however. So -- how can I access the downloaded files via Windows Explorer if they're not being saved as indicated. Where else could Firefox be putting them? (for testing I checked the "downloads" window list on firefox and compare to the files in the same folder on Windows...two completely different lists).

When you are in the Firefox Downloads window, right-click a file and select '''Open Containing Folder'''. That will open the folder that downloaded file was saved to.

  • .xml file and iTunes library files are missing from the music folder

I recently made a second itunes library on my external hd, today when I open itunes and choose this library, the .xml file and itunes music file are invisible or translucent, therefore I can't open my library. But when I go to my music folder they are missing. Another odd thing is that all my music is still in the folder. Is there a way to re-open my library w/o re-importing all my music? Can I some how get a new itunes library file?
      Mac OS X (10.4.10)

This is not an answer but I have the same problem. From time to time I clone my music drive to an external drive for back up. When I do, I burn a copy of the album artwork folder, iTunes Music folder, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Music Libraru.xml, and iTunes Library file to CDRW. This is so I can copy them into the music folder in my user home drive of my laptop then hook up the external and have access my library. Trouble is the .xml file and iTunes library files don't always show up when I go to the iTunes folder in my Music folder. There either is a blank where they should be or the names appear with no icon and when I click to select, that dissappers too. I thought I had a solve by exiting iTunes and letting it save everything. It seems to bring the .xml file back but not the itunes Library file. Any thoughts?

  • Imported Audio Files Are Taking Up 40mb's!

Recently when I import a new CD into iTunes, each individual song is taking up 40mb's. This is causing my iPod to fill up very quickly, while I know I should be able to fit many more files on it.
Why are these songs taking up so much space?

Marisa, Files that size most likely means you imported them as WAV files. Go into Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing and change your import preference to mp3 at 160 kbps (or whatever you prefer) and then click OK. That will tell iTunes to import future tunes in the more compact format.
Then for the ones already imported, right click on the song in your library and select "Convert Selection to mp3." This creates a new smaller file. Then you may delete your huge original file.
The mp3s will take around 3 to 6 MB each, a big space savings for you.

  • My FCP X render files are taking up my hardrive space!

When I use HD footage for my Final Cut Pro projects it takes up 20 GB per project....
I have a 3 TB external Hardrive, is their a way I can use that to move my render files to it and still be able to edit my project?
Can i delete my render field without messing up my project? Cant I just serenader them later?
My high quality media folder takes up 50 gbs, can I move that to my external drive then delete off my computer? When I edit i will have my drive plugged in.
    Thanks.

You should definitely use the external drive - preferrably it should be connected via USB3 or Thunderbolt.
How you move things from here to there depends on what version of FCP X you are using.
In 10.1.x, assuming everything is inside the library, all you have to do is quit FCP X, drag the library to the external drive, let it copy over.
Then double click on the new library in the external drive and make sure everything works. After that you can delete the old one.
Regarding render files, you can delete them at any time, they can always be regenerated.

  • Downloads of zip and other files are taking a very long time.

Prior to this week, downloads of zip files and other types of files were pretty fast; however, downloads are suddenly taking a very long time (i.e. 30 minutes to download an album's worth of music files). It's possible that I may have deleted something that was necessary to download files quickly, but I'm not sure. Can anyone provide suggestions on how to get my download groove back? Thanks!

    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Resetting the modem/router and trying with an ethernet cable (wired) vs. wireless would be two good troubleshooting steps.  More details are included in the article below:

  • Fan and Sleep mode are taking over!

I have read through many of the posts, but my problem still appears slightly different.
My computer will start up normal and the fan will be running silently and then get increasingly loud (like a plane taking off). Then, if more than one or two windows are open (with the fan still racing) the computer will put itself to sleep. I will click on the mouse and the computer will wake up for maybe 5 seconds before sleeping again, until finallly I just have to shut it off and leave it for a bit. The computer does not seem hot at all, either.
Is this the midplane power thing? (the serial number does fall within the range) Or is it something else?
I have noticed that the computer will most often fall asleep when Internet Explorer is running. Could this also be part of the problem?
    iMac G5

After discussing Apples with friends, it is apparent that the iMac has a strong will for survival. It knows when bad things are happening and will shut down, cool off or stall, all to save itself, which is a good thing.
So, yes I think you have a hardware problem, you will need info like, when did this start, how long it's been going on, new software, new hardware, new preferences etc etc etc... Good Luck, Rick
