Icon export to .Mac mail

is there not any way to sync .mac's address book vCard icons with the icons you have in your address book? i really dont wanna upload all of my address book pictures manually. if i have to do it manually, then i just wont have the pictures in my .mac account. seems like that should be a no brainer to include the images/icons when you reset your .mac data with the address book info from your computer.
thx

  • MS Outlook export to Mac mail

May I know how to export email from Microsoft Outlook to Mac mail? It is because I cannot find a way to do it, please help.

    Hi wajic,
    Try http://www.techhit.com/outlook/exportimport_outlookmac.html
I had exactly the same problem and frustrations, but MessageSave solved my problem in 2-3 hours from spotting it on Google to importing successfully all my emails from my Outlook to MAC APPLE Mail (or MS Entourage, if you like).
However, it has a slight cost ... but doesn't everything these days , but the good news is a 40% discount for MAC users at the moment.
I paid £23.03 which I thought was good value for money, considering it worked. It allows exports of Messages (including attachments), Contacts and Calendar for import into MAC Mail or MS Entourage.
Try the evaluation copy (limited to 50 messages) and judge for yourself.
    Hope this was helpful

  • No "replied to" icon appears in Mac Mail 5

In my Google Mail (IMAP) account, I do not get the "replied to" iconin Mac Mail 5. The message always goes through, it's just that it doesn't show the reply arrow/icon and it makes it difficult to know at a glance if you have replied to the email.  Does anyone have a work around? I have tried rebuilding the mailbox.  This issue did not exist in the Snow Leopard version of Mac Mail

  • Exporting from Mac Mail to Outlook 2011

    Hi,
I want to export all my current mails from Apple Mail into outlook. I am trying to use outlook import function but it doesnot have apple mail/mac mail in its options.
Is there any other way of doing this???

Outlook for Mac has no option to import from Apple's Mail application. The best suggestion I can offer is that you use an IMAP account to transfer your messages.
Get a free Gmail IMAP account from Google and connect to the account in Mail. Drag your messages into the account to copy them to the server.
Connect to the same account in Outlook and copy your messages from the server to folders under On My Computer.
Another option is to get a third party tool that are available online.
One tool that I am familiar with is Apple Mail Export
Or you can find more on
    google or
    yahoo for more results
    Hope this helps!

  • Exporting from Mac Mail to Outlook 2003 (XP)

    Hi guys,
    odd one,
just bought the wife a cheap and cheerful wintel laptop, and now in the hope that I can get my mac back for my exclusive use (I've shared for too long now), I'm trying to get her emails from mac mail into a PC format.
I have an IMAP mail server I can use, but it's got a low limit and transferring from the mac mail, back to the imap server, then from the server to outlook on PC works - but is painfully slow.
If anyone is aware of a tool or a process that can turn the mac Mail emails into Outlook XP emails I'd appreciate it. I've taken a look through the forum but everyone (not surprisingly) is doing this the other way around...
    Any ideas/assistance appreciated.
Running a 3y.o. iMac 1ghz, 10.4.7 build. Wintel machine is a stock standard Acer running XP, mail program outlook 2003.

  • How can I add social media linked icons to my mac mail signature in osx mountain lion?

I've added png files to my signature and then hit command k and added a website to "link" each, however when i send the message the icons are there, but they don't "link", as in I can click on them and the png file just bounces back up.
I am sure that Apple Mail has a way to do this, as every other carrier seems to have figured this out!
    Help!

"a signature with my logo" - please explain.
If I wanted a signature with a logo, I'd create an HTML document containing text and an embedded image. Adding, for example, facebook and twitter icons would be done in just the same way, by embedding their icons into the same HTML signature document.
What's stopping you just adding more graphics?

  • How to export an Mac Mail/Contact Group directly to a Google group

Hi, for my new blog, I would like to use Google Group to distribute it, but would like to avoid retyping each address into the Google group list. Is there a simple way to export the group I have already set up in my Apple contacts list directly to the Google Group? There are several hundred names.

    Hi,
Export from the first machine running outlook 2010
Open Outlook on the computer containing the desired contacts and click the "File" tab.
Click "Options" then click "Advanced" to display advanced Outlook options.
Click the "Export" button, then select "Export to a file" and click "Next."
Select "CommaSeparatedValues (Windows)" as the file type and click "Next."
Select the Contacts folder when prompted, then click "Next." This will export all individual contacts and contact groups within the folder.
Click "Browse" and select where to save the export file. The destination location should be on a removable storage device such as a USB flash drive to allow you to import the file on the other computer.
Type a name for the file in the file name box and click "OK."
Click "Next" when prompted and then click "Finish."
    Import to the second machine
Open Outlook on the computer you want to import the contacts to and click the "File" tab.
    Click "Open" and then "Import."
Select "Import from another program or file" and then click "Next."
Select "CommaSeparatedValues (Windows)" when prompted to select the file type to import and then click "Next."
Select "Browse" to locate and choose the export file and then click "OK."
Select the desired import options and click "Next." The first option, "Replace Duplicates with Items Imported," allows the import process to overwrite existing contact information to prevent duplicate contact creation. The second option, "Allow Duplicates
to be Created," retains existing contact information and creates duplicate contact entries with the imported data. The third option, "Do Not Import Duplicate Items," retains existing contact information. These options only are relevant if duplicate contacts
already exist in Outlook on the computer running the import.
Click the Contacts folder when prompted to select the destination folder. Click "Next," followed by "Finish."
    Hope that helps.

  • How do I export mac mail signatures?

Since migrating from Mobile Me to iCloud I have noticed that the signatures (of which I have a few) in Mac Mail do not sync to my other machines. My question is, how can I export my Mac Mail Signatures to another machine?

    Close Mail in both machines.
In the computer where your signatures are, go to your user library (in OS Lion this is hidden, but you may access it by holding down the option (alt) key while clicking on "go" then you will see the library item in the list. Another option to access it is to go to finder, click on "go", select "go to folder" and paste this: "~/Library"
Once you are there, go to Mail - > v2 -> MailData
You will find a folder called "Signatures". Copy this folder.
Go to the same locatin in the other machine. Make a backup copy of the "Signatures" folder and replace it with the other machine's folder.
Open Mail and check everything is running.
    Best

  • Is there any way to delete the favorites folder from the mac mail sidebar?

I recently made the mistake of flagging two email messages. Immediately I now see a "Flagged" icon in my Mac Mail sidebar, right under the Inbox. I the "unflagged" the messages. They went away but the Flagged icon won't. It now seems to be a permanent fixture of my mail sidebar. Is there any way to move, relocate or delete a mailbox icon you don't use and don't want to see?

There's no "downgrade" from OS X Server 10.6 Snow Leopard Server to client.
Acquire the current OS X client software, boot the DVD and use Disk Utility to erase the target disk, and reinstall the software.
Leaving the box with the server software running, with the services stopped, adds negligible performance overhead.  If any.

  • Mac Mail and Gmail Sync

Firstly, I'm posting this in the iCal section because there's not a dedicated Mail support section, and I think my question may be similar to some iCal concerns.
With the advent of 10.6, I know it's now possible to sync your "Contacts" contained within your Mac address book with Gmail. I also know that for some time it has been possible to import your Gmail contacts to Mac Mail.
My question considers the reverse - that is, it is possible to export your Mac Mail contacts to Gmail, and even better, possibly keep them synced. Often, Mail contacts and Address Book contacts are not one and the same. I'm specifically referring to the email addresses and names that Mail autocompletes when you type in the "To:" or "Cc:" fields. I only have 100 contacts in my address book; I know I have many more stored somewhere within Mail. As of now, however, I am unable to find them and unable to use them when using Gmail on the web. It would be great to be able to write an email to a new address in either Mail or Gmail, and be able to bring it up later from a different computer.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Kevin

It sounds like you've got Gmail set up in Mail on Leopard as a POP account. This would cause problems with how it synchronizes with other clients (like your iPhone) accessing the same mail account. The iPhone by default uses IMAP for Gmail access, which is what you should use if you are going to access Gmail with more than one client on a regular basis.
Once that is done, make sure you use the recommended settings for Apple Mail in order for your Gmail account to behave properly.
Lastly you should 'map' your folders so that Mail uses your Gmail folders for it's like folders. Using your Sent folder issue as an example, once you've set up Gmail to use IMAP you'll see a folder named [Gmail]/Sent. Click on that folder and go to the menu Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For > Sent. That folder will disappear from the folder pane and when you click on the Sent folder, the items in your Gmail Sent folder will now show up.
Edit: I just noticed that you say your MBP is using Snow Leopard. The settings should be exactly the same, but in the future you should post your questions about Snow Leopard (10.6) in the Snow Leopard forum.

  • Retrieving Gmail Password In Mac Mail

I have been unable to retrieve the password for Gmail account. I've contacted Google numerous times and even answering EVERY question, they will not send me a password reset.
My Gmail account is setup on my iMac and my iPhone, but I can't set up my email account on my MacBook Pro since I can't access the password.
Is there anyway to export my Mac Mail settings or be able to see the password (it shows up as •••••••••) or be able to hack it to copy and paste.

On the iMac, go to Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access. Do a search in your "login" keychain for "gmail" and find the correct one (eg, the POP or SMTP server key). Highlight it, click the "i" button at the bottom of the screen, and click "Show password". You'll need to enter your Mac user's login password to reveal the password.

  • Mac Mail - Being able to set attachments as Icons by default.

    Hello All,
Garoolgan again with yet another little problem with the Mac Software.
I've rung Mac support and been told that this is impossible to do.
I send a lot of attachments with my Mac Mails.
If I click right on the attachment to set it to 'View as an Icon" then "save" the email as a draft and open it again the image or document comes up, not the icon. In the same way the person receiving the email finds a whole "pile" of files at the bottom instead of a neat list of icons.
Thanks for Reading..... and I hope those Mac programmers read these messages too!
    Best wishes to all
    Garoolgan

Icons can be cut and pasted onto almost any item on the Macintosh. As for how to apply them, here is the most straight forward way:
On your desktop, select the icon you would like to use
Select “Get Info” (command-I) from the File Menu for that icon
Click on the icon in the upper left of the window
Choose “Copy” (command-C) from the Edit menu
    Close the window
Select the file/folder to which you want to apply that icon
Select “Get Info” (File menu) for that icon
Click on the icon in the upper left of the window
Select “Paste” (command-V) from the Edit Menu
    You’re done!
Please keep in mind that certain icons such as the Finder icon or the Trash Can icon can only be changed with helper apps like our very own CandyBar utility. Please visit the CandyBar homepage at Panic.com to learn more.

I added gmail to my phone....  now I can't get my mac. mail from my mac computer on the phone when I click the envelope for mail....so I dumped my gmail account....     still can't get my mac mail back on icon page on iphone so I can get my mail from my computer...

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

  • Mail Icon in bar not synced with Mail which I log into thru Mac Mail

Clicking on the Mail icon in bar gives me a list of emails in alphabetical order, going back years. I'm certain I've deleted many of these, but they're still there. No mail received recently goes here - the only way to get my mail properly is to log in to MobileMe using passwords etc [before that, Mac mail] which can be tiresome if I just want a quick check.
How can I sync these two, so that whatever arrives/ is deleted /is sent appears in both locations exactly the same?
    Thanks 4 any advice.
