Icon for Gradient in CS5 Extended

Hi!
Surely an old hat, but new to CS5 after Elements from 2 to 9... My question: I cannot see the gradient icon in the tools panel. Where does it hide?

I am getting an error encountered problem with the display driver for my Photoshop CS5 extended

I have Windows 7 and have used CS5 extended with no problems for quite a while now.
Last week I started up CS5 and received the error:
"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturers website for the latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences."
"Please close program and uninstall and re-install if problem persists"
I was able to edit, however when I went to save my work it would not do so. The following error came up.
"Could not complete the command because the extension could not be loaded"
"Could not save a copy as .....because of a program error"
I checked to make sure I have the latest driver, I also uninstalled and re-installed the program and I am still getting the errors.
Can anyone help with this?

Does my computer meet the system requirements for Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended?

I am planning to buy Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended but I have tried to understand if my computer 's system is enough for the software. Please help me, the Adobe requirements I am unsure of are in bold and my system is in italics (My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5715Z):
Windows
Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor - Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2330 (Should be higher than Pentium 4???)
1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with qualified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card, 16-bit color, and 256MB of VRAM - display is no problem, Mobile Intel GL960 Express Chipset with Integrated 3D graphics, featuring Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with up to 358 MB of Intel Dynamic Video Memory Technology 4.0)
Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0 - I haven't got a clue what to look for.

That's from the Acer website.
It IS a pentium processor, but I see nothing to indicate if it's 64bit. I'm guessing it's 32. CS5 works best in a 64 bit environment, that's my personal opinion. I've used it in both and 64 outperforms 32.
2Gb of Ram will cause some performance issues too. If your aspire can be bumped up to 4Gb do that first.
80Gb of HD with Vista and I don;t kow how much other software and files you have, but it isn't a lot these days. I had a Toshiba with an 80Gb drive and I lasted about three months before I HAD to put a 250Gb in it. Once I had Vista Ultimate, CS4 Master Collection, Office 2007, Roxio Creator 10 and about 4 Gb of websites. I had to connect an external drive for my Photoshop files because I had about 6Gb left on the drive.
It will run (in 32bit mode) but with the "factory" specs, it will run slower and you may experience issues with it freezing up on large files (2Gb or bigger).

Serial number incorrect for Adobe Photoshop CS5 extended education edition

I received a serial number for my Adobe Photoshop CS5 extended education edition, but I get the message: this serial number is not valid for this product.
Apparently it's not possible to send an email to Adobe NL, so I hope someone can help me out.

uninstall cs5, clean cs5 and cc (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then reinstall cs5 using your serial number.

For the Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition, is it an upgrade or the full package?

Also, do I just scan in my student ID if I download it and email it? And if so, where to? Also, the download works worldwide right?

S&T versions are full versions. Eligibility and availability of products vary from region to region. You cannot buy an US S&T version, if you are living in another country, for instance. Refer to the S&T pages for more detailed info.

Cross-grade for Photoshop CS5 Extended

How can I get a Cross-grade for Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended. I have a Student and Teacher Version. Now I want to change my System from Windows to Mac.

There are no upgrades from old version Student & Teacher Edition to new version Student & Teacher Edition.
But you can certainly upgrade (or crossgrade) from CS5 Student & Teacher Edition (Win) to CS6 (Mac) normal retail product for the upgrade price.
e.g. Photoshop CS5 STE to Photoshop CS6.
Alternatively, join the Cloud for the PS+LR plan @ $10/month.

CS5 extended suddenly not working

Message is Activation limit reached for Adobe PS CS5 extended. I have been using this for probably 2 years now and suddenly this happens. Says this is the 3rd computer but this is the same computer I have been using it for. So what shall I do?

Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended

I am looking for a Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended. I currently have CR 6.7.0.339. IS there something newer for me to use with CS5 Extended, Ver. 12.1x64?

Camera Raw 6.7 is the latest version that's compatible with Photoshop CS5. There's nothing newer for CS5.

Outdated Camera Raw plug-in for CS5 Extended

As a long time user of ADOBE products, (Flash, Reader, Acrobat, Photodeluxe, and photoshop) I was first introduced to PHOTODELUXE2 that came with a scanner. Got to like it, then over the years, I've had the opportunity to try out other PS titles like PS7, and the last version I have is the PS CS5 Extended, which I bought at a garage sale a few years ago. Are these Photoshop programs only for the RICH AND FAMOUS?
I have cancer, and I am on disability, so for obvious reasons, and financially, I can not afford the $700.00 plus price tag for photoshop full licensed program. I have tried to open RAW photos from my Canon G6 Digital camera, but the plug-in needs to be updated. I also have a newer Canon SX50, that does have a RAW plug in, but that only works with this cameras photos, not my old CRW Images.
The G6 Raw plug-in was a 32-bit, that came with the Install Canon disc, but since changing my 32-bit OS to a WIN 7 64-bit, that plug-in no longer works, unless I get a hold of another XP 32Bit computer, and install it on that, which I do not wish to do,
Is there a third party Camera raw plugin that might open these G6 RAW files? or do I have to buy the expensive full licensed program, which I can not afford? I have taken a photoshop Class at a local School, and received a 'Certificate of Completion", but as a student, I did not know at that time, that I could have got a discouted price for being a student, and looking back, it was still too expensive for me anyway, even at that price.
Since being diagnosed with cancer, I find myself at home all the time and enjoy editing photos for my self and family, I do not use this PS software for any financial gain, just self enjoyment, which takes my thoughts of having cancer away whenever I dabble.
I certainy appreciate the work that the Adobe developers go through, and I certainly do not want to take away from their livlihood buy using a product I bought for $15.00 for at a garage sale last year. But the CS6 Standard costs $700.00, or the CS6 Extended, at $1,000, what are my options?..I haven't won the lottery just yet.

I think the G6 should be supported by camera raw in PS CS5. You can download camera raw 6.7.1 -- the latest camera raw plugin for PS CS5 -- from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html
Scroll down to Camera Raw, click on Windows then download the 6.7.1 update. Direct link: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows
PS CS5 usually installs both a 64-bit version and a 32-bit version on 64-bit systems. You might look in your Win 7 program listing (Start key, then All Programs) where you should see both Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64-bit). Your older 32-bit plugin that you used before might work with the 32-bit version of PS CS5. Plugin would need to be installed in the 32-bit version only -- in C:\Program Files (x86).

Re-installing Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac)?

How can I download and re-install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac) for which I have a licence? I lost the previous version in a disk crash. I tried downloading the full Photoshop CS5 installer, but I was told I couldn't run the installer because I didn't have permission.

Defining different icons for TreeNode by extending DefaultTreeCellRenderer

I'm using a JTree to display project, folder and files. I'd like to have different icons for open project, close project, open folder, close folders, and files
but i got for the root which is a project object a folder icon and for folder when it is not expanded i got project icon and the when i expand it i got a folder icon, can someone help me please

I changed my code a bit knowing that the renderer is global to the tree so my (openIcon == null) is called only once for the first node.

Will a Serial Number for Photoshop CS5 Work for CS5 Extended?

Hello,
I've recently subscribed to Photoshop CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5.5. In my Order History, it says 'Photoshop CS5', not 'Photoshop CS5 Extended'. However the download links in my Order History does not work (yes, I do have Adobe Download Assistant--in fact, I used it to download Dreamweaver CS5.5 without any problems).
So, I decided to download the trial version instead and enter my serial number that way. However, the problem is that I see Photoshop CS5 on Adobe's Products page, yet when I click on it, it leads me to Photoshop CS5 Extended.
I don't want to waste my time downloading CS5 Extended, only to find out that my serial number for CS5 does not work on it. So my question is: Will a Serial Number for Photoshop CS5 work for Photoshop CS5 Extended?

For anyone else having the same problem: I contacted Adobe via phone, and they said that a serial number for Photoshop CS5 will work with Photoshop CS5 Extended.
