Icon for my app

Hi all:
Once I have finished my app and I would like to test my app
in my mobile phone, I found a problem:
I have .as files, images files and several swf files, I used
makesis to generate the sis file. It works fine. But I need to add
an Icon for my app in the main menu of my mobile device, which will
launch Flash Lite Player (playing my swf logically). How could I do
this?
Any Idea?

It might have been disabled in restriction settings>general>restrictions are make sure App Store is on

  • HT202159 Problem with Update on   It started, then the screen went white and the icons for the apps on the desktop were all blackened, 'waiting'.  What now?

It showed a number of apps to be updated on my iPad, so I clicked 'update all' as usual.  It started, then the screen went white.  The icons for the apps on the desktop went black, as they do, with the first one half way around the little circle timer, and two marked 'waiting', with others not that far into the process.  They all stopped.  Now I can't stop the update process in the App Store, or use any of the apps.  What do I do next?  Help, please!

    Hello there, Rev Susi.
From what I can gather you have a few apps that only display "Waiting". The following is a past discussion that dealt with a similar issue, the answer may help you as well:

Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

  • On iOS 7.0.2, after web (OTA) installation there are two icons for the app on the home screen; one is invalid.

    Hello,
I have filed a bugreport, but I am curious if anybody else has noticed this.
    Summary:
Icon that was displaying progress of installation stays on screen next to normal icon and it is impossible to delete it or start the app with it.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Full factory reset of iPhone with iOS 7.0.2
    2. Open web page with link for OTA installation.
    3. After install is finished there are two icons for the app.
    Expected Results:
Icon that was displaying the progress should disappear after installation.
    Actual Results:
Icon that was displaying the progress stays on screen is not usable and cannot be deleted.
    Version:
    7.0.2
    Notes:
    Configuration:
Server used to serve the page with installation files is "Server" app on MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion.
The same happens if other servers are used; Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

    Hello,
    I have the same problem!
    Any idea?
    Thanks.

  • Icons for new apps not showing up on iPad?

My iPad and iPhone are not displaying icons for new apps. How can I fix this?

To the OP .... Did you try either of theses steps?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    to you both ....
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you have many apps they can't all fit one one screen. Try swiping from screen to screen to see if you can find them. I would suggest checking restrictions as well, but I believe that if restrictions are enabled, you couldn't download the apps in the first place.
You can also look for the apps in iTunes on your computer. Connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes, select your device on the left sidebar under devices and click on the apps tab. Look at all of your iPad screens in there and see if you can find them.

  • Simple question! Is it possible to have a custom icon for an app part?

    Hi All
Title says it all: is it possible to have a custom icon for an app part / client web part?
It used to be straightforward with the previous dev tools, but the ImageUrl was typically to a hive folder (which is obviously out of bounds now).
I've "Binged" with no joy. None of the samples I've seen have a custom icon.
So - can it be done?
    Regards
    Nigel

  • Retaining Custom made Icons For Automator Apps

Hello, I've noticed that when I give a custom made icon to an Automator app, it will display it on my Mac but when I send it to someone, it's original icon is displayed. Is there any way to have it display the custom made icon even when I send it to someone else?

    Jerry,
I suspect you are using the old trick from the Classic OS of just transferring the icons between the Info windows.
I think there is a way to retain that icon but it is quite involved. I haven't tried this so just guessing at this point.
The normal icon for the Automator app is stored in the package that is created when you save the completed workflow. You can get access to the package by using the Show Package Contents contextual menu item in the Finder.
Inside the package you will find a number of files and folders. Within the Resources folder you will find two files related to the icons for the package, one for the Applet and one for documents.
The Applet icon file is the one that you need to work on and change to retain your modified icon. There is a little utility called Icon Composer that is an Apple product available on my machine in the Open with dropdown contextual menu. This might have been installed with the Developer tools though.
Within Icon Composer you can replace the icons within the Applet file and they should stick upon transfer to another machine. Here is the description within the help files of Icon Composer.
"You need to give IconComposer at least one image to generate an icon (.icns) file. However, you should provide four different versions of the icon. IconComposer optimizes each version for rendering at the resolutions of 128x128 pixels, 48x48 pixels, 32x32 pixels, and 16x16 pixels.
If you give IconComposer only one image, it should be optimized to look best at 128x128 pixels. This ensures it looks goods when displayed at the maximum resolution of 128x128 pixels, and looks acceptable when scaled down to the smaller resolutions.
If you supply different sizes of the icon to IconComposer, you should also provide 1-bit image masks for the three smaller resolutions. An image mask defines what parts of the icon are clickable. Assuming the color black is used to compose the image mask, any areas that are colored black in the mask define which parts of the icon can receive mouse clicks.
IconComposer can create icons from the following image formats: GIF, JPEG, PDF, PICT, PNG, TIFF, and any of the QuickTime-supported image formats. To create the actual icon file, drag the icon images to the corresponding image wells in IconComposer. Then choose Save from the File menu, which prompts you to name the icon file and choose a location for it."
So as you can see it could be quite involved.
It might be easier to develop a method to automate what you are currently doing and provide the people with a blank file that has the other icon to transfer.

  • Iphone 6 tells me that "Item not available" in my country UK, when i click on the itunes store icon for the app to open the music, movies or tv shows section of the app. is this a bug?

I am based in the UK and have just got a new iphone 6, everything works well except when i try to turn on the itunes store app -  i can do a search and buy music etc that way, within the app, however, if i go to Music, Movies or the TV shows section within the Store app, i get a message come up saying "Item Not Available" - This item you've requested is not currently available in the UK Store, but it is available in the US store. Tap Change Store to view this item".   I therefore cannot browse the music, movies or tv shows sections at all, nothing shows up except that message.  All my previous itunes purchases have downloaded ok, and i can access them. My apple ID works fine and restrictions on the iphone are turned OFF. The App Store app works normally. Connection etc is all fine and I can access itunes  in the normal way on my ipad and laptop, so this is just an iphone problem. Any ideas? is this a bug? I cant find anyone else with exactly the same problem. By the way, the same message comes up when i click on the red Music icon, on the iphone (situated next to the Safari icon) and then go to the "Store" via that app.  my playlists are in tact, but as soon as i click that Store button, I am told that the Item is unavailable - not that i have chosen any Item lol, I just want to access the store in the normal way. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you can give

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

  • HT202297 The Reminders app on my OS X version 10.9 doesn't seem to have badge icons for apps that are overdue.  How do I get the badge icons for the app?

Being overtly organised, I assign due times to all my reminders on the reminder app.  Recently, I realised that the badge icons (detailing the number of overdue reminders) do not pop up anymore.  How do I get them to reappear again?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
There are two Applications folders: /Applications (in the root level of the hard drive) and ~/Applications (in your user folder).
If you have a look at the bottom part of the screenshot, you can see where Chess is stored, and it indicates that it's stored in /Applications, so you are looking for applications in the wrong folder.
Open a Finder window, go to Finder menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Sidebar, and mark Applications. Then, close the Preferences window and you will be able to access to the Applications folder in the Finder sidebar. Another option would be to go to View menu (on the menu bar) and type:
    /Applications

  • How to create an icon for an app.

Hi all, I'm new to this part of the forest. I'm trying to learn Applescript and with any language I try to teach myself, the hardest thing is where to go after the "Hello world" thing. I need something simple but useful to motivate myself. Anyway a few times I've been researching something on Safari and since my favourite in those circs is "File - New Window" I end up with 8 or so windows open. Then if I have to restart for any reason (e.g. needed the domestic power off to carry out electrical work) I want to go back to those web pages. I could of course bookmark them all or find them in Safari History, but I thought "wouldn't it be great (TM)" if I could click something and it would make a note of all those URLs then quit Safari; then later click and it would start Safari and return to those URLs. So after a bit of fooling around I've got an Applescript which does that. Just proof of concept at the moment, e.g. it doesn't test for being asked to quit Safari when it's not running or vice versa and it doesn't handle tabs (that's going to be in mark 2.0) but if anyone can assist I'd like to give it an icon other than the default applescript one. Can anyone advise please? I've tried copying and pasting images from Preview and even "mv" ing stuff around in Terminal but to no avail. (I'll put the script in a second post in case anyone's interested.

Here's the script. It doesn't do the log file thing yet.
    set ckptFile to "Macintosh HD:Users:xxxx:Documents:safchekckpt"
    set URLlist to {}
    set logFile to "Macintosh HD:Users:xxxx:Documents:safcheklog"
set dialog_msg to "Checkpoint Safari: this script can close Safari (non-tabbed) after noting " & ¬
" the URLs of all open windows, or start Safari and re-open those windows. Only one list of " & ¬
" URLs is kept so checkpointing and closing Safari loses the previous list of URLs. However " & ¬
" a log file is kept to which each checkpoint's URL list is appended with timestamps."
    display dialog dialog_msg buttons {"start Safari", "close Safari", "Cancel"}
set button_back to button returned of result
if button_back = "start Safari" then
    tell application "Safari" to activate
tell application "Safari" to close window 1
    try
    close access file ckptFile
    end try
set f to open for access file ckptFile
set URLlist to read f as list
    repeat with theUrl in URLlist
    tell application "Safari"
make new document at end of documents
set URL of document 1 to theUrl
    end tell
    end repeat
    end if
if button_back = "close Safari" then
    tell application "Safari"
set k to count of documents
    if k > 0 then ¬
    repeat with i from 1 to k
set end of URLlist to URL of document i
    end repeat
    quit
    end tell
    try
    close access file ckptFile
    end try
set g to open for access file ckptFile with write permission
write URLlist to g as list
    close access g
    end if
Apart from adding an icon, I would be grateful for any suggestions on where I should put the app and its file(s) [ obviuosly not in one user's Documents folder ] so that all users on the system can use it. TIA for any feedback. Terry. ( I bet someone tells me there's already an option in Safari to do this but it's just a learning exercise )

  • Icons for purchased apps are missing

I bought this iPad 16GB from a friend. All apps that imahve purchased say installed no matter how I come at it. However there are several that did not install an icon you can tap on. And I don't know how to fins them or use them now.

The apps show as installed in the Purchased tab at the bottom of the App Store app ? Are they hidden by an app age rating having been set in Settings > General > Restrictions ? If you have the maximum 11 home screens then additional apps will only be accessible via the iPad's spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right)
You could try a reset and see if appear after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. Another option is to do Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which might make them easier to find.

  • Icons for running apps are not showing in the dock

I just noticed that newly opened apps were not appearing in the dock. I then closed and deleted some apps that had been residing permanently in the dock, and started them again. Their icons did not reappear. I'm running Leopard on a G4 ibook. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening?
Also, that little light which comes on under the icon in the dock if the app is open does not come on for Safari. Even though it is open, the icon sits there with no light. Why is there no light, I wonder.

delete the file homedirectory/library/preferences/com.apple.dock.plist and log out/in. your dock, spaces and exposé will be reset to the defaults. see if that fixes the issue.
