Icon has appeared on my Nokia 2330

A bold capital E has just appeared on my phone and I've no idea what it means or why its appeared.
Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?

to remove this go to
Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet
data > Packet data connection and from the following options:
● When needed — to establish the packet data connection when an application needs
it. The connection is closed when the application is terminated.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Productivity icon has appeared on my phone.  What is it?

A new icon has appeared on my iPhone 4....called productivity.... What is it? And how do I get rid of it?

No but a size up to500Mb is quite normal and don't worry about it. It needs some 'Other' to function.
If it gets in the 700Mb or more, you have an App which is causing problems but it is not possible to find out easily what is causing it. The only way is to remove Apps until you find which ones cause the problem.

  • New Icon has appeared

I have a curve 8310 and a new icon has appeared, directly to the right of the alarm icon and to the left of the battery icon (on the far right)
It looks like a target, as in the sight of a gun - basically a cross with a circle around it
currently the keys are not working so I am trying to swap the device out, perhaps the icon is a sign of the devices status, ie dead!
    anyone seen this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It is your GPS location on symbol.
It has nothing to do with the device being dead.
Your keys not working is 99% of the time an indicator of moisture problems in the keyboard, I've seen it all too often.
Even left in a bathroom during a hot steamy shower or bath will cause the keys to not respond well.
    Remove the battery NOW.

The Color Sync Utility is part of OSX and usually resides in the Application/Utilities folder.
Don't know how it appeared on your desktop.
But it is no malware, spyware or the like but as said part of OSX.

  • A Home Group icon has appeared on my desktop, why?

I noticed today that there is a new icon on my desktop, called Home Group(or something like that, because my operation system is in Dutch, so it appears as Thuisgroep). I cannot remove this icon because it's not like the other shortcuts and I don't know how it appeared there. Is it because of an update of the system? I don't use the home group for now so ... I don't really need it there. Any ideas? Thanks!
    Alexandra.

Unexpected "Homegroup" icon is a hot topic. We see that "just click on leave homegroup" solution in several dot com forums. Unfortunately, for most forum visitors there is no "leave homegroup" while there is the
desktop "Homegroup" icon. IMPORTANTLY, this Homegroup 'icon' is very misbehaved! Try and move it and it goes nowhere: it is locked in place, regardless of desktop settings, and it cannot be deleted.
Perhaps enlightening, Media Center 'black screens' and otherwise corrupts Windows 8 desktops and display adapter handles (and concurrently hangs dxdiag.exe on large-memory boards). Homegroup may simply be another NOT READY Microsoft
feature (fortunately not hawked at $10 a crack, like the MC).
Back to topic, Intel.com forum posters mostly do not see any Leave Homegroup anywhere in the simple Homegroup Open dialog, nor in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Homegroup and all its 'offshoots [sic]'.
Further enlightenment, it is a fact that a joint Pentagon-FBI task force asserts that 1 in 3 computers has been maliciously attacked by "unfriendly alien governments". Now, only yesterday we tasked a Microsoft.com driver download page that had
hoaxed over 180,000 'drivers-NOT' onto unsuspecting regional desktops. Is the same thing happening for every other Microsoft Hardware download item? Well, it could be this misbehaving Homegroup icon is an "unfriendly" feature, something one
might intelligently expect in a nation that has been constantly at war for almost 70 years. This protracted colonial war effort has now conscripted Microsoft to program murder technology (sorry if the 'm' word is overly sensitizing, but universally massive
doses of murder may explain 'unfriendly' in an 'expected' context). Tuit, these general matters may be slipping beyond the scope of civil forum enquiry.
Back to topic one last time for this post, THIS ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED! It seems to be hooking into the edge of compounding systemic OS flaws. FYI, we haven't got past Microsoft Help Desk (usually a receptionist in a friendly Asian state) to any
Microsoft development team for over two months. So there's some hard facts for you to chew on... but what would be really nice is a Microsoft sponsored 1-2-3 method to lose the obviously corrupt icon repeatedly installed by Microsoft Windows Update on this
posting stand-alone (aka NOT groupie) machine.
Oh as I was young and easy in the mercy of his means, Time held me green and dying Though I sang in my chains like the sea.

  • Help! Alarming icon has appeared

Hi - people in a work group were loading files from 3 different USB sticks onto my Mac yesterday without me watching (I know...) and I now have an icon on my desktop that looks like a drive and is named:
    OOo3.2.1_MacOS_x86_installen-US.dmg
It says it's a Disk Image but it's 179MB: I either want to put it back where it belongs or get rid of it if I don't need it. Can someone please tell me what this is, and what I need to do with it?
    Thanks!
    LT

That's an OpenOffice installer (a version or two out of date, though). Is one of your workmates using OO? You may have been prompted to download the installer and, without realizing it, clicked Yes.

  • A new tiny icon has appeared on my iPhone4s top right corner it looks like a lock with a circle around it what is it??

Can someone help identifiy the icon that I had never seen before?  Thanks

I don't think you can delete it but you can remove it from the screen by swiping up the screen from the bottom & clicking on the lock icon to disable it; it should go dark.

  • The "home" icon which appears in the upper right corner has disappeared and I can't get back and forth unless I bookmark my home page and reach it through a bookmark.

    Hi Donnastall,
Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing]]? There is a lot of good information in there and it should help you resolve your issue!

  • My iphone screen has turned black, phone is still on as screen shots can be taken. When home button and power button are held - no apple icon will appear. Please help

My iphone screen has turned black, phone is still on as screen shots can be taken. When home button and power button are held - no apple icon will appear. Please help??

If this iPhone has had the screen replaced previously, possibly LCD Display connector has simply come loose from the Logic Board. Possibly the LCD Display is faulty and the front screen assembly needs to be replaced. If you have Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple. This is handled by Apple with Replacement iPhone 4S.

It's not clear whether you were able to do any backups to this drive at all.  If not, it's probably not formatted properly.  See #5 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions for instructions.
If you did get any successful backups, there may be a problem with the drive, or the backups may be corrupted.  Try to repair the backups, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

  • Nokia 2330 slow

I recently received a Nokia 2330, which is pretty slow for a S40 phone.
But these days I meet some one who had the same phone, but fast as a S40 phone should be.
One thing, I observed is that my phone has a option Extra (when you press left button - which I don't want and probably this is one of the reason that the phone is moving so slowly). The acquaintances phone doesn't have that option. He has the classic menu.
Any tips to get the same response from my phone, as the phone's acquaintance?

Though the compatibility I am not sure with.. you may download and install the latest version of Nokia Suite on your PC and then connect the phone to PC thru' BT. Open Nokia Suite --> Messaging.. Then at the bottom next to the Phone Icon select Inbox. it will open all messages in the phone's Inbox in the Middle column. Do not select SYNC but manually select about 20-25 messages and Drag-and-Drop them to the 'Conversations' folder at the top. Then select next 20-25 messages and repeat the process till you are finished with all messages.. Though time consuming, this seems to be the ONLY solution in this scenario ..

  • How to Connect Nokia 2330 Classic with laptop or p...

    Hi All
I just bought my new nokia 2330 last week, when i try to connect my 2330 classic with my laptop the phone is not detacting.Pls help me in this regard. We connet 2330 with laptop or pc with cable or not???
    - Shree

    Hi all.
First and all, be aware that there are dozens of Nokia phones, and all have different specifications. If someone buys a phone to take pictures, then the 2330C is a bad choice. The port that the device has, is not a USB port. It is a Nokia proprietary port for service only.
@shreeg and others with similar issues (altough this is late): check for Bluetooth compatibility first at http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/pc-suites/compatibility-and-download
@mojojo and others with similar issues (altough this is late): troubleshoot your laptop and mobile phone Bluetooth. Check if your BT drivers are compatible with Nokia suites. Test them with other BT devices (i.e. BT headset, other phone). Also test the pairing at a different location. BT is a radio wave based connection which can suffer from external interference caused by other radio waves emitting devices, or by electromagnetic or electrostatic fields nearby (these are caused by almost anything that runs on electric power)
@everyone: my advise is for you to check the following web page for info on device specs http://www.forum.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/matrix_all_1.html to know which type of local connections are available on the devices. It's on the "Local connectivity" section.

  • External drive icon not appearing on desktop

Hi - I have also posted this in the Time Machine forum as this is where my problem started. New iMac yesterday - replacement for faulty iMac which I had backed up using Time Machine. Reinstall from Time Machine effortless - no problem. Downloaded available software updates and 10.5.7 onto new iMac. No problem until I go to do another backup. Time Machine does not recognise external drive and I get "volume could not be found" message. At this point in time the external drive icon is showing on the desktop. Give up and go to bed thinking I will reformat external drive in the morning and start again
This morning, I boot up the machine but the external drive icon has disappeared from the desktop. Unplug external HD from usb and plug in again. No icon on desktop although it shows in Finder and Time Machine.
Anyway - I turned Time Machine off and then pointed it at the Ext. HD - went to back up now and magic - did complete backup and has done a second subsequently. Seems to have created a second backup folder separate from the one created by previous machine from which I reinstalled. Still no desktop icon! Switch iMac off and on again - still no desktop icon. So why - the Ext. drive is recognised and works so why isn't an icon for it appearing on the desktop?
Please help - I need answers to these weird happenings
    Thanks
    Ann
    .

Problem solved and it was so simple - just had to go to Finder, Preferences, General and tick the box that says external devices. Desktop icon has returned:-) Don't know why it became unticked but everything now is working absolutely fine (as far as I know lol) Hope this is the start of a good relationship between me and my new Mac!
