Icon "SEARCH" in in-house development

Hello community,
i have a question.
I have here in a system a in-house development with own Transaction Code etc.
When i open the Transaction i see the Buttons (Print / Search etc)
But the Button search is inactiv.
I dont know who developed this Programm. And the only thing i need is to acivate the "SEARCH" Button in this Transaction.
I know the package in the SE80
Is it simple to activate the search Button? Can you tell me how this works?
Or did i have to find the developer?

Hi ,
If you are working on custom object , its quite easy .
You have to specify the Function key for "Search" button in the GUI status of the program.
My be you can take help of some developer for the same.

would it be possible to display the same icons for objects in SQL Developer as Data Modeler?
For example:
- in SQLD a session temporary table has the icon of a table with an X symbol, in Data Modeler it is just a table icon.
- in SQLD a materialized view has the icon of a table with 2 arrows, in data Modeler it is just a table icon.

Hi Joop,
I think you will find that in Data Modeler's Physical Model tree the same icons are used for temporary Tables and Materialized Views as in SQL Developer.

Favorites icon gone from Oracle SQL Developer Help screen

Favorites icon gone from Oracle SQL Developer 3.0 Help Center screen
How do I get it back?
In Oracle SQL Developer 3.0 I clicked
Help->Table of Contents
to bring ut the Help Center window.
It the Help Center window I used to have a Favorites tab next
to the Contents TAB on the left side of the window.
I did an unpin some how and now I can't get the Favorites
TAB back.
On the right side there is a Star + icon that does
Add to Favorites.
I can add links to favorites but I have no way to go to these
saved favorites anymore.
How do I get the Favorites TAB/Icon back?

Hi John,
SQL Developer depends on JDeveloper code for the Help. After closing the Favorites tab I see no way to re-open it in the UI, so I imagine there may be a bug on the JDev side. Fortunately, there is a manual fix:
In file product-preferences.xml
In directory C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Application Data\SQL Developer\system3.0.04.34\o.sqldeveloper.11.1.2.4.34
use Notepad to look for the lines like:
<value n="helpDynamicLinksNavigatorLocation" v="3"/>
<value n="helpFavoritesNavigatorLocation" v="0"/>

within our project in-house developments are taking place.
For this purpose we have registered in the Marketplace our own name space to protect these developments. Then these developments are then delivered to other local systems at VW group sites.
To ensure that an "on site Bug fixing" is possible" we must assign these systems within the Marketplace our name space and transmit a repair license.
This license (key) will be installed local system.
Unfortunately, with this license one can carry out not only repairs, but also enhancements (with the profile SAP_ALL in the developing system one can store these developments with "workaround" not only locally, but also transport them into the productive system).
Therefore a protection of our developments would not be guaranteed any more.
How can we prevent further or new developments in our name space and allow at the same time "on site Bug fixing"?

In-house developed applications

Hi Friends,
We have developed an in-house (home grown) application called LOANS SYSTEM using Dev6i with 9i DB, it is a complex and a big module just like the average module it EBS.
Now I want to use the architecture of EBS R12 interms of security, the apps tier/db tier/apache/oc4j/forms server/reports server platform set-up . So I want to register this application to EBS R12.
My question is...how much license to we pay...if we dont use any module in EBS R12, but only use the architecture
setup and register our own apps? Is it a good idea in the first place.

Protecting/hiding Business Catalyst website from the public and search engines while in development.

How can we protect/hide our Business Catalyst-based website from the public and search engines while we are developing it? It seems like anyone can access it, even though it is not complete.
We are using Dreamweaver to build our website, if that helps. Is there any way to have a test instance of BC that is password protected for development and testing? Thank you for your ideas.

when user enter a table name or string
system will display all list of objects that used search table or string in objects.
Does Oracle Developer has this function?
This function is good for debug person for new application.

Hi. In this version even when we do the search with text selected, the default entry is previous text searched (not current selected in editor). Why was changed the behavior of text search since the previous version? Cumps.

We are developing for one specific client who will use the application in his own intranet. We are not delivering to anybody else.Can you explain the licensing arrangements for this- am I right in thinking the client does not have to purchase a license as he is using the Runtime in his own intranet? We (the software house) have licenses for Visual Studio 2005 Enterprise Edition, do we need anything else?ThanksChidd

Extending SQL Developer?

From what the doco states, we should be able to write our own extensions for SQL Developer. I think. I'll be happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. :) And I really like SQL Developer.
Currently, we have an in-house application which has some SQL querying functionality, but also has some functionality which uses knowledge of our database schema.
For example
- when a query displays a reference column, double-clicking on the cell will open another query, displaying the details for the referenced item.
- when you leave the cursor over a cell that contains a reference to another table, the tooltip text displays the name of the referenced item
Things like that. I get that you can use JDeveloper, with the ExtensionsSDK to build extensions. I also get that these extensions can be used with SQL Developer. So, I'd like to do away with the in-house application, replacing it with SQL Developer with an in-house-developed extension (to access all of our domain-specific tables, reports, etc).
Is there any doco about coding extensions that use the views that come with SQL Developer? I guess I'd need to know about the views used to display the output of a query, etc, to register event listeners to do some of the things above.
The sample code shows a lot of generic things which, while being useful, don't help in pointing out how to extend some of the things in SQL Developer. At least to someone not very familiar with the Oracle Extension framework. So, if anyone can recommend any addition doco, it would be greatly appreciated.

Issue in search detail view

I have a issue in search screen.
I developed a search screen with parameter. Based on the result, I am viewing the details of a selected record in a separate screen. The below steps I followed
Step : 1
     Search the record based on input parameter.
Step : 2
     Select a record and view it in another jspx.
Step : 3
     Updating a column through database (Back end).
Step : 4
     Return back from detail view page to search page.
Step : 5
     Selecting the same record (Which I choosed in Step 2) and viewing it in detail page.     Now the update value is not reflecting in the screen.
In step 2, findByQuery(String poId) is executing and I can see that query in the log file. But in Step 5 I am not able to see the query in the log file (Since the method itself is not called), its displaying the result from the cache.
Please any one provide solution and where to change and what to change. Excuse me if i asked anything wrongly.

Trouble displaying icon on push button in 6i Forms

Hi,
I'm having trouble displaying an icon on a button at both design and run times. I'm using Forms 6i with client/server enviornment. I have tried to follow several forums regarding icon setup and the Whitepaper articles. I have tried different suggestions but am still unable to get the icon. Here's my latest attempt:
1. Copied .jar file to C:\Oracle_Developer_9i\forms90\java folder
2. Modified formsweb.cfg (in the serverApp=default section) and included the following:
archive_jini=f90all_jinit.jar,myAppIcons.jar
imagebase=codebase
3. In button's properties I set:
iconic = 'Yes'
icon filename = C:\Oracle_Developer_9i\forms90\java\myAppIcons.jar
My guess is that I didn't copy the icon files (from the .jar file) correctly. As suggested in the Whitepaper, I don't have the c:\ myApp\ icons directory. I did a search for an icon directory and found multiple icons folders (due to other oracle projects installed on my pc) but don't know which one to use. Being that I'm using 6i and the instructions were for 9i I didn't know if the directory/folder name is different. Is there another directory/folder (using 6i) where I should copy all the .gif files from in addition to storing the .jar file in the C:\Oracle_Developer_9i\forms90\java directory?
Also, I feel that I'm not calling it correctly from the location in step 3. Being that the icon exists in the jar file, how would I reference it within the file? Does anybody have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried your suggestions but am still unable to view the icon. Here's what I now have tried.
1. I've created UI_ICONS in the windows registry under the form's oracle home and am calling c:\icons from that variable.
2. In c:\icons, I copied the .jar file's contents (search.gif) into this folder. This is where I may have a problem in addition to my next step in calling the filename. You mentioned in your first post to put my .ICO files there. Should I rename my .gif to .ico? Not sure if I followed you there.
3. In the button property, I set icon = yes and icon filename = c:\icons\search.gif -- Not sure if I used the right syntax for the filename. I've tried renaming it to .ico and it still does not display.
Sorry about all the questions but I really appreciate your help. Do you see anything else that I did that may cause it to not display?
