Icon Selections?
Okay, here's one for ya! I'm managing my Main page's Icons by condensing them into seperate folders and when I label my folder with a name, as i scroll down to save it, the Icon box highlights as if to give me the option to change icons. Can this be done, cuz I can't make anything happen and I tried to push all the right buttons? It would be nice to have a selection of different Icons to choose from, instead of having to scroll onto each folder to read what it's content is.

E72 Wlan Wizard Issue: Icon/Selection disappeared ...

After my mobile phone automatically switched off while I was trying to check my SMS because of low battery, I plugged it to charger and switch it on again. Upon turning on however, the Wlan Wizard icon/selection has disappeared from start up screen/desktop. When I try to access Wlan Wizard by going Menu > Ctrl Panel > Connect > WLAN wiz., it gave me Memory Full error instead.
I've tried various method available that I can get from here: Turn off and on (it worked when the same issue happened a long time ago but not this time), deleting licenserserv.log to free up space in phone memory (still no Wlan Wiz and still Memory Full error after restart), going back to factory setting and restart but all to no avail.
Following the advice in the thread I posted before, I installed Nokia Suite and updated my E-72 with the latest software. I even try reinstalling for good measure. Still the same thing: no Wlan Wizard icon on desktop/home screen and Memory Full upon Menu > Ctrl Panel > Connect > WLAN wiz.
What else can I do to solve this issue? The attached picture is my phone info using Nokia Suite. Note the red highlight box. Is it supposed to be so?

nokia e72.jpg 155 KBYou need to try the *#7370# reset. It should not touch anything on the memory card but you can remove it as a precaution. Do 2 backups, one with everything and the oter with only your data. Sometimes when you restore all the settings as well it brings bck the problem.
After the reset, try the phone to make sure everything is working fine before restoring your backup. If the problem comes back after the restore then reset again but this time use restore using the data only backup. -
Command-Click Channel Icon Selects inverse in CMYK/RGB channels?
Photoshop CS4, Mac, PPC OS 10.5.8.
When i command+click on a channel icon to select the contents of a channel in CMYK or RGB mode, it selects the white/highlights instead of the shadow/content of the channel. The opposite is true when I command+click on spot color channels.
I'd like to be able to command+click, say, on the cyan channel and have my selection be the contents of the cyan channel rather than the white/absence of cyan. What am I missing? I know I can command+click, then select inverse, but why is the behavior different between CMYK and spot channels, and is there any way to change the behavior?Not just looking at the marquee. If I copy the contents of the selection to another channel it is definitely the inverse of the channel that I've command+clicked. Not having any actual problems selecting with the usual selection tools.

Skins & af|selectOneRadio - changing the icon selected/unselected render?
Wondering if someone has tried changing the render of the af|selectOneRadio component using CSS/skins? I want to replace the various images used by the blafplus-rich default to bring it into line with radio-button renders used elsewhere in our apps. I've tried using selectors like:

.. but to no avail. Disabling compression and using Firebug seems to confirm that ...

AFAIK there is no way to change the icons for html radios, however they can be changed with the help of Javascript + some css.
I also checked ADF Faces css files and could not see any selector that you can set your own icon.

Problem started yesterday (9/28). While in Firefox, bookmarks stopped working. Closed out FF and tried to reopen the program, and nothing causes FF to launch. Tried double clicking on the desktop icon, single click on the bottom status bar (on XP), right click on icon to open or run, trying via Start -> All Programs -> Mozilla and neither regular or safe mode would launch. Only thing that seems to fix the problem is a full restart of the computer. Tried downloading the newest version via Chrome. When I clicked to run the install, kept getting a message to close all FF windows, even though there were no FF windows open.
Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".<br />
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Startup Disk - Constant HD Icon Selection Prompt Issue
Never had a single Startup Disk issue up until recently and despite countless hours of researching online I'm still clueless as to how to solve it. Also not sure if these recent minor changes are related, but besides the obligatory software security updates the only recent hardware changes I've done are:
1. Warranty repair to replace my entire Bottom Housing for spiral cracks around several screws.
2. Replaced Top Case for hairline cracking in wrist area for the billionth time.
2. Bought new battery as original finally reached maximum life cycle.
So my issue is as follows:
Macbook seems to constantly ask me to select the *Startup Disk* when I power on. The odd time it'll just boot without doing so, but usually I get the my *HD Icon Prompt* before the grey Apple and Spinner come on. I don't have any partitions and never have.
Also there are no issues with my Options button being stuck from spilled fluids, which was the Genius Bar's suggestion. Then they suggested that my iSkin keyboard cover might be causing a problem despite the fact that I've been using one since day one with no problems ever!
Nevertheless on several occasions I've done the following in an attempt to correct the issue:
1. +System Preferences+ -> System -> +Startup Disk+
2. Then I select my correct Hardrive (only two available: My HD and Network Startup w/? icon).
3. After doing so I lock the administrator *Lock Icon* in the corner (note: It locks fine but seems to randomly be unlocked when I re-enter the menu on occasion. Not sure if this is a sign of anything or not but thought I'd mention it.)
4. Double / Triple checked the stroke of my Options key. Seems fine. No stickiness at all.
5. Removed iSkin keyboard cover. No effect whatsoever. LOL
Regardless doing all of this doesn't seem to solve anything! Perhaps there is there a Terminal Process / Command / Reset I need to know or can do that would put to bed once and for all.

The randomness makes me think this is a Hardware issue.
Have you booted off the Install Disk by holding the *d key* down at boot-up, (not the c key), and run the extended Apple HW Test? Some Install disks require holding the Option key at bootup to select the AHT. Some Macs came with separate AHT CDs. -

Am very new to Blackberry. The Curve 8900 is my wife's and she asked me to get it working on a new provider plus wifi.
As the long subject says, the Hotspot Browser icon shows on the main menu but when I click on it nothing happens. If I select the Hotspot Browser icon and then press the Menu key, I get kicked into the main menu. Have searched far and wide for the answer to this problem, but no luck. Most posts complaining about the Hotspot Browser are about getting a connection to the Internet. I am not even that far -- the browser simply doesn't load. Any help would be much appreciated.
I have a BB email plan and wifi. The wifi works fine for email with the mobile network turned off, so I know that my Wifi settings are fine.ankittvarshney wrote:

Voices and Random Icon Selection

I dunno what happened. It was like the computers speech option was turned on, but i was able to check system prefs and it was off. A black box would appear around cetain icons window buttons. for example: In system prefs the back button was surrounded by a black box but my mouse cursour wasnt over it. and seemed to favor the left icons and the voice would say "back button" in refrence to the systems prefs window. This would happen to different icons in different windows> I close all programs and shut down to a apple drop down menu with 2 secltions either for "logout "xxxxx" user"" or "Shut Down". it happened while in Safari connected through a home ethernet connection or at least it started while browsing. I had multiple apps open and a usb HD connected and had worked on the machine seven hours straight in the same configuration in flawless proformance the hard disks were never asleep (( as a side note, i have had troulble waking either the USB or Firewire drives and apps such as Final Cut 5.0.o, Motion and DVDSP4 fotoshop CS1.)). I am typing this email from a trusty iMac G3 10.2. I have never had this happen to this machine in over 4 years of hard use. I take well good care of the machines. I have never heard of this before so look out. This must be specific to the intel machines. Who knows. I am clueless, what should i do before i take it in should I start it up, I have already taken out the battery and plugged the ethernt back in this machine.

How can I select paper size while in print preview ?
I have a printer with four different paper trays, and each one is loaded with different size of paper: A3, A4, Legal, envelopes. When I use IE 11, I can easy go to print preview, click on page setup (little gear icon), select paper size , margins, etc.. there, and when i hit OK, the page is adjusted to the settings I selected and its ready to print, and printer selects the proper size of the paper automatically
In Firefox v32, I can almost do this same, but I'm stuck with printing only on A4 style paper, as I don't see where to select the paper I want to print on !
I tried to select A3 and legal paper in the printer driver, but then firefox used the selected paper, but printout on the paper came out as set to A4 size, and rest of the page was empty ! Also I was not able to see the page preview of the selected paper either. How do I then print on other size papers than a4 ?
I found only one workaround which does not suits my needs but works: First: Go to printer driver and select legal or A3 paper as default, and then open firefox. If I do that i can print on any paper I select, but thats a horrible workaround, because then I often forget to change the default paper size back inside the printer driver, and i print my documents on wrong paper, wasting paper, ink and time...
Please let me know if there is a way to fix this printing feature somehow.

Sorry, IMO there is no real "fix" for what you are experiencing. Printer prefs set or changed in the operating system won't affect Firefox printing ''[IMO, either ancient code in Firefox or a "cross-browser thing".]'' Firefox has its' own settings for prefs and it defaults to the "last used" for all printer preference setting. And there is no way to set a pref as "use now and return to my defaults after this print job is completed".
As you have found out, there is no way of changing paper size from the Print Preview screen. Other prefs - Margins & Header/Footer can be changed via Page Setup and you can see changes in the Preview window, but not for paper size. As ''CoryMH'' mentioned, '''paper size''' is selected thru what called the "native print dialog" box using the '''Properties''' button which shows a window provided by your printer software for the Printer which is selected in the "native print dialog" window, and accessed after you hit the Print button in the Print Preview screen.
Problem is that you can't '''"preview"''' what is going to be printed when you change paper size. If you go back to Print Preview without printing from the "native print dialog" the change for Paper Size isn't saved for viewing in Print Preview!
IMO, it would be nice if Firefox recognized each "tray" as a separate printer, so that a user could set Margins & Header/Footer prefs AND paper size per tray. IOW, a feature sort of writing a completely new print module that would reflect "today's" environment with multiple tray printers; rather than to continue using the print module that was built by Netscape back in '94 - '95, which we are stuck with almost 20 years later.

Disabling calendar icon from a date field

The DateField control in UIX creates a text field for entering dates and a button for picking dates from a calendar. Is there a way I could disable the calendar icon selectively, when I do not want my user to pick up a new date?

Why won't my mac automatically select my home network?
Why can't my Mac AUTOMATICALLY connect to my wireless hub. I get a message that the network can't be found. This occured after I had to reset the hub and then had to re-setup the network.
Go to > System Preferences > Network, and select Wi-Fi. Click the Advanced… button and select the Wi-Fi tab.
Under Preferred Networks, select your old network, or better yet select all that appear, and click the "–" (minus) button for each one. Check the box "Remember networks this computer has joined" if it is not already checked.
OK then Apply.
In your Mac's Wi-Fi icon, select your network and provide its password.
Your Mac should now remember it.
