Icon Size Within Dock Folders

I would like to change the icon size within the applications folder, it seems rather large, I liked the size of the previous OS icons. It's no big deal but it looks comical compared to the rest of 10.6 visually.

Change icon size in dock

I upgraded to OS X 10.9 from Mountain Lion. The icons on my dock (which I have on the right hand side of my screen) all became smaller with the upgrade. When I move the slider bar in dock settings (in system preferences) from small to large the icons do not change size as they did in Mountain Lion. Is this a bug in Mavericks or do I need to do something besides moving the slider bar from small to large? Thanks.

Automatic icons appear on dock folders

When using OSX10.4.11 I created folders that I put on the dock (folder side). When I updated to OSX10.5.7 unwanted icons appeared on these folders, each a copy of an icon inside the individual folder, obscuring the labels that I had put on the folders. How can I remove these unwanted icons, or alternatively at least select my choice of an icon in the folder?

Thank you, V.K. I control-clicked on the unwanted icon/folder in the dock (not the stack) and selected "display as folder". Voila! You've been a big help.

Inconsistent icon sizes within same folder view

Subject says it all - each of the folders (as you could probably surmise) are just the extra documentation and such from some of the apps I use. But I don't know why the one folder's icon is smaller than the others in the same folder/view - that just strikes me as odd. Has anyone else noticed behavior as such?

I believe that is a custom icon from the TidyUp authors....not something you can control unless of course you want to replace it....speak up if that's important.

Icon size in Application folder

WHen viewing the application folder from the Dock, the icons have now been enlarged and I have to scroll through the application folder to find apps, how can I reduce the icon size within the Application folder? when viewed from the Dock?

Actually, you don't even have go to the View menu for the slider. It should be at the lower right of your Finder window in Icon View. AFA the alias in your Dock, poof it and create a new one by dragging your
apps folder to the Dock. Don't do it from the Sidebar, do it from Computer/Macintosh HD/Applications.

Files icons size is 512 x 512 with maximum grid space???

After updating from Snow Leopard to Lion all my files in the folders is rearranged and files icons size is 512 x 512 with maximum grid space. I adjusting each folder icon size back to normal but after reopening that folder all files is out of order again. Is anybody experience same issue?
Also I have brand new battery in my 17" MBP and OS Lion eat battery like a cake.

I believe this has been brought up many times, aand no solution has been found.

When I quit itunes it restarts again with the dot under the itunes logo but the iTunes window doesn't open until I click the icon on the dock. Also in the middle of the size vale in the size column the value starts with a number then a ? then a number.

Icon size slider missing in standard folders

Is there any way to enable the missing Icon size slider in all folders? This slider is present on the Path Bar in Spotlight search folders (like Today) and VERY USABLE when you work with images. You can set a LARGE Icon Preview size temporarily (much larger compared to what view options window permits), select the image you need than set it back to smaller one. But only in spotligh. Is there any solution for this problem?

I reported this back in February and then again last night. My call was escalated to a specialist who connected remotely to my desktop to see the behavior since none of their computers were having that issue. After seeing the slider not working on my machine, he suggested that I create a temporary partition and install a fresh copy of Lion and see if the issue persists. After installing a fresh copy of Lion, I was still having the slider issue and reported back to the specialist via e-mail. I will know more when I hear back from the person tomorrow.
Also, there is another issue with Lion that people haven't mentioned but the Quick Look feature doesn't work all the time. Files wouldn't render and bringing up Quick Look the 2nd time on the same file does render correctly but then if you use the arrow keys to move between other files, the Quick Look doesn't update with the new file that is selected. Additionally, PDF files with multiple pages also doesn't render or it will render the 1st page but the other pades remain blank with the circular loading icon on them.

I updated to OS X Mavericks but I now have two Pages and two Numbers icons in my Dock. Both contain files and folders. I am not convinced that Mavericks installed correctly, but what should I do?

If I click the original Pages icon it says that there is an update available, if I then click to update the Itunes pages says no updates available. There are new versions of the iWork apps, but they have been completely re-written for Mavericks / iOS / iCloud integration. They are feature limited at this time, so Apple left the original versions on your Mac. They are in an iWork folder in the applications folder.
Along with changes to the programs themselves, the file formats are different. Some things like Google and Dropbox think the file formats are viruses and blocks them (I don't know if that is still the case as I don't use either). So, you may want to continue to use the old versions.

Restoring the size of icons in the Dock

Hi, This is my first mac. I hope some one can help me. I want to restore my icons on my dock to the original size. I have try to do it in my preference, but only makes the dock bigger. I was zooming in and out with my keyboard shortcut, and had a hard time getting my desktop back to original , when I did my icons on my dock, they were too small. l hope some one can help me.

Picture folder stack icons in the dock become folders after viewing

Hi Everyone
I have been using img2icon to make new icons for the document folders I keep in the stacks. I have changed the stacks settings to folders to show the icon. It looks good but when I view the stack and then put them down again, the icons go and are replaced by the folder icons.
Also wondering if anyone knows how to replace application icons in the dock?

Icon in the dock

Hi there,
I would like to reorganize my dock. When I try to move an icon within the dock by dragging it, it does not move and insert where I would like like it to stay.
I have of course asked the icon to remain in the dock, and I have checked with app closed or open.
I use the smallest size icons
Could someone please help ?

I looked back at your previous post and note that you have the icons set very small. I tried that and found it difficult to get the icons to move out of the way, but they did if I placed the cursor towards the bottom of the Dock, in-between the two icons.
There is also a com.apple.dock.db file, but I don't think that would be keeping you from moving the icons. The db file is just an index of the items in Dock folders to speed up display, I think. Moving it won't hurt.
