Icons are always shifting or shift rapidly with parallax on

I have an iPhone 5S with iOS 7.01 installed. Compared to my iPhone 5 with iOS 7, the 5S' icons appear to always be shifting (moving) even when I hold the phone still. Also, when I transition from the lock screen to the home screen, the icons rapidly shift and adjust to a new location in a "jerky" fashion. I realize that this issue is resolved with the parallax set to off (reduced motion on), but I would prefer to keep the feature.
Any thoughts from the community?

All of a sudden, prior to installing Snow Leopard, my icons started shifting all over the screen on restart/login. Then I installed Snow Leopard, hoping this would fix some corrupted preference, but it didn't work.
Of course not. You should *+never, ever+* install a system update to try to fix a new problem. Fix the problem first, then install updates. Installing updates on a system that is experiencing problems probably won't fix those problems and may very likely make problems worse.
I've tried deleting 'com.apple.finder.plist' and 'com.apple.desktop.plist' from my library preferences, as advised on another forum, but it didn't work.
First, I would try repairing permissions using Disk Utility and then [repair the hard drive with Disk Utility|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417]. (Don't do these at the same time... repairing permissions should be done while booted from your hard drive. Also, be aware of [permissions messages you can safely ignore|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448].)
I don't know that these are at all likely to solve your problems, but they're a first good step. Next, you should try deleting the invisible ".DS_Store" file from your desktop. The easiest way to do this would be to paste the following command into the Terminal:
rm -f ~/Desktop/.DS_Store
You may need to log out and back in after doing this.
If that doesn't fix the problem, try logging in to a second user account (create one if you don't have one). Does the problem happen on that account? If so, it's a system-wide problem, if not, it's a problem somewhere inside your user folder.

Hello all,
Many icons of folders on my desktop and inside my HD have suddenly changed to the "eject" icon that appears when you drag items over the trash!
many of the folders inside the iphoto libraries (I have 9 differents lbraries) have alos changed to the "eject" icon! Same goes with the icons of applications inside the Application folder!
What's up with that!
Anybody knows what happened and what should I do to prevent this from happenening again?
and I need to revert to the original icons.
P.S I do not want to do the command +i and copy and paste. Some of the original icons, are missing altogether!

Hi Michel,
Glad it is back to normal.
And, no I don't think it is a harbinger of future troubles, it is just sometimes the file (to Unix everything is a file even a volume like HD_1) forgets where its icon is stored and can show the wrong one. Most mac files, but not all, have two parts to them, a data part, and a resource part which includes the icon, the extension, what app to open for it.
Apple did this to separate the number crunching data side of computing, from the graphical desktop experience that we interact with.
Sometimes if I have downloaded files from a third party, their icons can go awry because they are not Apple files. Your experience is less common but it can happen. As a general tendency I tend to trash third party applications if I am not making good use of them, because they are most likely the cause of icon misbehaviour if at all. I think it may be a bit like a newly downloaded file saying "Oh and by the way, add my icon to the system". That is why restarting is an effective way of re-establishing what icons are supposed to be used by which (file).
So there is no magic cure, but there is no malady to be alarmed by either.

Do you get an error number? What is the exact message?
Two things to try.
- Sign out of the App Store (in the Store menu)
- Quit the App Store
- In Finder - Go>Go to folder... (or Apple-shift-G)
- Paste in the following "~/Library/Caches/ "
- It will take you to a folder. Delete com.apple.appstore
- Launch the App Store.
If that doesn't work, try an App Store reset and then try again.

Replacing shift registers with queues or notifiers?

I'm using labView 7.1 with my first application, which is essentially a spectrum analyser and comparison to limits. now due to the parameters of the sampling 12000 samples/sec with 4096 point I have quite large chunks of data involved in rolling averages of 1 minute and rolling buffers that are an hour long. I'm pretty new to labview but I'm finding pretty easy to pick up except when it comes to optimisation and performance (I've been used to the microsoft approach until now) due to the fact that the instrument I'm building has to run in psuedo "real time".
I've been looking at replacing the shift registers with either queues or notifiers but I'm unsure if these techniques would result in improvements or not.
I'll attach a jpg of my main loop, I've only got the one but it is separated into three separate tasks but they are all governed by the data flow, DAQ then PROCESSING then REPORTING.
I've been told that by separating the loops and making them run in parallel LV will be able to compile it more efficeintly, but I'm unsure how to do that .

Don't convert shift registers into queues or other things for performance reasons! LabVIEW has a lot of internal optimization logic when compiling your code which works best on shift registers. On a queue you will always copy the entire data of a message in or out even if you only need one byte of it.
Try to look at your architecture. You do want to do as much as possible in place. Try to completely avoid Append Array or Append String inside loops if possible. They are costly operations as they have to reallocate memory each time and often copy the entire data from the first array into the resized array. Better is to once preallocate an array of the necessary size, keep it in your shift register all the time and then use Replace Array Subset, Index Array and Array Subset nodes only on this. You will also have to maintian some index shich tells you up to where you have currently filled that array and that one is usualy best put into a shift register as well.

I would recommend reinstalling Mountain Lion to replace the missing/damaged components of these applications. While the process shouldn't affect any data (images, music, etc) you have on the system, it's always a good idea to have a backup in place prior to reinstalling.

Maverick has messed up my computer. Slow scrolling in I photo. Bookmark icons are blue all the time and not marked with the company symbols. I cannot find out how to solve this.

I switched to Mavericks two weeks ago and have had nothing but troubles. Scrolling in I photo is slow and very inaccurate. When I click and drag a photo the ones above it all flicker, making it hard to find where to put it. My bookmarks bar Icons are all blue. Before they used to show the symbol for the company they represented. Now I click on one, it changes to what I want, then a few minutes of hour later, it goes back to the blue ball, which I hate. My font size is different with every page and I have to click Zoom in all the time. I tried adjusting it in Preferences in Advance settings on the right, but this does not solve the problem permanetly. I have one web page, a hockey one, which tries to load, then I get either a black page or a white one. Driving me nuts. I need some help. Been to Apple at the store, talked to them on the phone for four hours last week. Rebuilt the I photo library with no luck. Would appreciate any help. Please Thanks. I even keep a fan behind my computer to keep it cool, that is how much I look after this baby. Some say it might be Safari? Not sure. I have little computer experience, so please it you are kind enough to reply, do not use tech talk or short forms as I will not understand any of it.

I have a few of your issues as well: 1) Safari popular icons are all bue making them very hard to distinguish from each other. 2) My font size is also different with each page / window. What I have been able to find out is that in the Maverick OS - Apple removed one size of display resolution 2048 x 1152. Whether this is the cause of my 27" screen clarity & font size issues, I do not know - but it seems like a contributing factor. Maybe help is on the way - maybe not. Cheers

In the meantime I got a free trial of creative cloud on that computer, but I gave up and decided to reinstall my cd-roms. However, everytime I try to use acrobat for instance it says that my trial period ran out! I disinstalled my cloud products, I am using my registered full master series items, they have nothing whatsoever to do with my creative cloud FREE subscription. If I try to cancel my free membership, it is to no avail, there simply is no such possiblity. I want to use the software I paid dearly for, not the cloud items I disinstalled and which do not interest me. How can I contact Adobe to fix it? It was no fault of mine, I did all I was supposed to, disintalling items before installing the right ones, but the system must have some error i am not responsible for.

Some have found relief just by reinstalling, but it is more than likely incompatible third-party applications that slow it down.
You will have to investigate to see what it is.
Open Activity Monitor and see if anything is using a lot of CPU% or Memory. If they are, check to see if there is an update for them.
Another place to look is the Console. See if anything is logging repeating messages with throttling and/or respawn in the All Messages list.
Sometimes it is not that easy to root out the problems, but if you have anything that purported to clean, protect, optimize, maintain, or flush your system, then that is likely the cause.

After one of the upgrades of firefox, some of the icons on the web page that should open a sub-page for selection of items in the main page are not working any more. We click on them, yet no response
I donwloaded the fidler and it record any request sent from the PC when clicking those icons.

Hi, I am fairly new to using PHP and Dreamweaver together and
I have placed the attached code in my document and I have noticed
that the PHP generated table, div or anything else is always
shifting down in IE and FireFox as well. Why?...and what is the
solution to display and position dynamic content correctly inside
the "content" div without shifting and having control of it.

My husband's only way to communicate is with ipad. He now has double-vision. The icons are too small. Is Apple planning on accommodating us boomers and handicapped with a larger icons? Zooming doesn't help becuase of limited manual dexterity. Thanks

Zooming doesn't help because it's not a permanent setting and he can't change it too meet his needs because of limited manual dexterity. I understand and appreciate the desire for consistency, couldn't they make a two or three size option setting. Small, Medium, Large and maybe Xlarge?

Thanks. Tried it. The size of icons is great but now the part of the screen is missing. For example, he likes going into his music app, yes, it was easier for him to see and select, but once in the app he couldn't see the sides, so he couldn't select song without a double-tap to get it out of zoom. I will see if I can arrange his pages so that all icons show. This is a sort of work around. Larger icons would be a better solution. My husbands illness makes him akin to a person with ALS, so his ipad is his prized possession.
