Agreed about predefined WiFi key. You will find it in clear and capable of being changed under Advanced Settings / Wireless Settings / WPA.

I love the 6th Gen. iPod Nano but it has a major deficiency, the power button. I've bought 2 and they both have given me the same issue of the power button becoming slack and not functioning. Why is this so, and how can I fix it??

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

happened to me the first time i used the i pod app after the i tunes update. simply back all the way out - (double hit the home button - the ipod app is one of those things that seems to continue to live in the multitaking bar). When you restart the i pod app, it should dome back fine. I do not think (but maybe I did) that I needed to do a full shut down - just fully close and reopen.

Icons get large and cannot fix it

I was wondering if anyone else had this situation. It has only happened with my 3GS. All of the other generations I owned it never happened. Twice now all of a sudden when I turn on the phone the screen gets large and I cannot tap to adust it. I can't even move the screen to try to slide the power on bar at the bottom. I've tried rebooting and even restoring it to no avail. I don't know what has caused it or how it fixed itself the first time. If anyone has any solutions I'd appreciate it. I'm currently in Europe so I cannot go into an apple store or call for support.

A German woman visiting Albuquerque just approached me for help on the enlarged screen issue. (She saw me on my Mac). I did a quick search and we rescued her iPhone. (Triple tap and change zoom). Though I did have trouble navigating her iPhone in German!

Acrobat xi makes my icons very large and the program very large. It is like everything is super big. Then it really does not work well to view files. What can I do?

My Acrobat XI enlarges my desktop, and the program is also very large. I cannot see the whole screen because it is so large. When I end Acrobat everything returns to normal. I just want to use Acrobat XI to read pdf files.

Hi Pat, that is the problem I am having. I have tried to change my scale for screen settings to 100%, but every time I change it, the next time I open the program, it reverts to system settings. It is not saving the new change I made. I have looked all over for a save command but there isn’t any. I even went to my regedit settings and did exactly what the instructions say. Still the same problem. Everything is at least 200%. Once I exit the Reader, everything reverts to normal. What am I doing wrong? Or what else can I do?

I have reset x 2-3, tried to renew license, and even had our I.T. guy look at the problem to no avail. In settings, it shows that I have : wi-fi "on", ask to join..."on", and it would appear to be connected to our wi-fi (the name is highlighted in blue, there is a check beside it on the left, and the wi-fi icon shows full signal on the right). Following the arrow shows "static", with all fields populated with numbers, and http proxy "off". If I return to home menu-->no wi-fi icon at top. Problem examples: If I try to update weather-->"update failed" sometimes, sometimes not (the busy wheel spins but I never see the wi-fi icon like on my wife's). For stocks-->"error retrieving data" sometimes, sometimes not (as with weather). Likewise for D/L'ing mail-->sometimes "cannot connect...", sometimes it does. All that is ever at the top is the dreaded "E" icon. Suggestions?!?

How can I prevent Firefox profiles from becoming large and taking up space on the C drive for each user?

I have many users logged into a Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Server (Terminal Server) and all of them use Firefox. Each one of their profiles get very large due to their Firefox profiles.
Seems that all the space being taken up by the cache folder. (C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Profile.default\Cache)
Is there a way to enforce a policy within the program to clear the cache for each user either each time the browser is closed or when the user logs off?

when you lock the preferences with the mozilla.cfg file in the firefox program folder as it's described in the mozillazine kb article above, it should apply for all users...

Icons extra large and unable to scroll around screen

Icons and text are double size how do I cancel this. The phone is now locked and it wont allow me to move around the screen to unlock it

What was the first film you saw? and the like. You can say Not now, but then nothong happens and you are back to where you started. Is there a way to proceed with downloading apps without answering these stupid questions?
I refuse to believe that Apple as an organisation designed these questions - must have been somebody else.

This is Apple's security feature, you answer the questions or you stop using the account and buy Mac apps elsewhere. Do a search on Secure Notes in the keychain and answer the questions with nonsense answers and store them in a Secure Note for future reference.
