Icons blank

Certain icons on my sons ipod touch have gone blank.  The text still appears, and the games still work, but the picture is gone.
I've read some fourms where this problem occurs after "jailbreaking" an ipod; however, that is not the case with his.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Most of my icons are blank in my bookmarks, next to the website
    I got a new computer With win 7 and imported them from my old computer.
    I've deleted some of the websites and relaoded them, still blank, for example BB&T bank.
    I've installed the plugin that's supposed to correct this.
    From a Google search I'm not the only one having a problem with this.
    This is driving me nuts. All the icons, or what ever they are called show up in IE, and my old computer

  • PDF icons blank

    Hi, im having issue with some of my icon showing nothing, blanks. I'm not sure who else has this issue or if anyone has resolved it. The  PDF opens up just fine some its just annoying.
    Im running windows 8.1 64bit operating system.
    thanks

    To display the file association and other properties, right-click on the file and select Properties.  Below is what you'd see on Windows 7.
    The ones that I also would like to see are these with the PDF icon (jhtp5_09_TIF etc.).

  • App icons blank randomly

    I have a 2nd Gen iPod Touch. I'm not sure just when it started - but just in the past day or two, I found that the icons (on the home page) for apps randomly disappear. I can still use the icon - the name is still there and the space, etc, but the graphic itself is gone. When I switch to another page of apps, and come back, it's often a different couple of icons which are "blank"...
    Everything else apparently functions just fine.
    Yes, I have the latest software - iOS 4.1 (which of course can't do everything because it's 2nd Gen...).
    Any ideas of what is going on??

    A restore and sync from iTunes "fixed" the issue for now.
    Steps that I did when I first saw the issue.
    - Tried to update apps from App Store. It failed with a dialog saying to check the date and time. My timezone and date and time were completely wrong.
    - Corrected the timezone and time and date manually.
    - Update from App store worked. Icons on apps that weren't updated and some that were had gray only icons.
    - Tried power off. Same gray icons.
    - Tried hard reset. Same gray icons.
    - Did restore from iTunes and sync. Fixed icons.
    I don't know if it was the App Store update that did it or the time change I did.

  • Icons blank, can't delete

    I too am having this problem with my Z10. They are not in my accounts but keep reappearing
    on my apps screen a while after deleting. The icon is blank. Also the Vodafone sim app will not delete at all which is odd as my phone is sim free.

    Hello,
    Please, some clarifications...

    You say "they"...this thread is discussing the FB app specifically, so I am not sure if your problem is truly identical, different, or similar. Please provide details to help us understand.
    TheNoseybonk wrote:

    Please also expand on that...a blank icon? If you can attach a screen image, that would also help.

    While I've no idea what a "sim app" even is, you likely need to talk to Vodafone about that...it is completely possible that they push that to all of their customers, regardless of service plan.

  • Icons blank or wrong

    I think I posted this in the wrong forum earlier.
    A couple of applications downloaded okay and they work fine but on one the icon is totally blank and on the other it has a faded version of an unrelated application. Both appeared correct when down loading then went wrong. Have tried re-installing but it makes no difference. The icons seem to be correct in iTunes.

    I obviously did not search hard enough as I have now found the answer from vaiious other threads -
    1. Delete the app
    2. Download the app again (it's free the second time)
    3. Tap the icon while it's downloading to pause the download
    4. Power the phone off and then on
    5. Return to that app and re-tap the icon to resume the download
    6. It works and the correct icon then is there and clear

  • Webloc icon blank on desktop only

    Since updating to the release build of Yosemite my webloc (that is an icon for a Web site address) icons are blank.
    Prior to that they all had the Safari style icon with WEBLOC on them.  The icons are normal in all other folders I have checked in the Finder.
    I tried to fix this problem by changing the "Open With" section in Get Info. Still the white icons on my Desktop.
    It isn't the worst bug ever but it irks me and it is weird.

    Hi,
    I am having the same issue.
    But anywhere I drag desktop or any folders all my safari links went blank. And made all old links that were pulled go blank just not new links.
    I think it had something to do with an App I installed? Or the last update.
    But I did notice if I use Chrome or FireFox The weblog image does appear. So it's only related to pulling the link from Safari.
    I also tried repair disk and PRAM and still nothing?
    I am hoping the next update fixes this.

  • Contacts icon blank in Twitter settings on iPad with iOS 5

    If you are using twitter on iOS 5 with an iPad and go to settings ---> twitter.....there is a list of apps that have been approved to access your twitter account. These could include Safari, Photos, Maps, YouTube, and Contacts.  Each has an icon of the app along with an on/off toggle switch. For some reason the Contacts app icon is the only one that's blank. On my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 it shows correctly. My wife's iPad has the blank icon as well. Anyone else?  I know it's not a huge deal, just an OCD thing with me. I've tried restoring but nothing seems to fix it.  Hopefully it's not just me and my wife anyways.

    Hello everybody,
    I spend several hours last night and finally get it back to work.
    First what did not work:
    I connected the iPad with iTunes an click restore. But when it asked I choose restore from last backup. Even before any app or data where restored, the contacts crashed again.
    What works for me:
    Disabled all apps and data from synching with iTunes
    Click 'restore' in iTunes.
    I the middle of this process the iPad (not iTunes) asked about the restore mode.
    Choose option 'as new iPad'
    Then I got a new blank installation without external apps or data. But with working contacts.
    I set up my connection with exchange and other mail accounts.
    Then I enabled all apps and data (photos, music, podcasts) one by one and synch.
    Note: I am running a german version, so I dont know the exakt english names.
    Hope that helps. Good luck.

  • Group Policy Desktop shortcut icons blank (white) on windows 8

    I am using GP user preferences to create shortcuts on my users' desktops. On all my Vista/Win7 machines they are fine and the icons are what I set them to be. on all my Win8 machines the icon is just a blank white square. If I right-click and view the icon,
    the correct image appears. But when the user is looking at the desktop the image is blank.
    I have upgraded a couple machines, scratch built one, and purchased an OEM version on a new laptop. All are the same: blank shortcut icons.
    Surely I'm not the only person testing Win8 in a domain environment, right?

  • Front Row Theatrical Trailers Icons Blank

    Hi,
    I currently have all the latest released updates (itunes 7, qt update, front row update, etc) released september 12. Everything functions correctly except the preview icons for theatrical trailers.
    Prior to todays updates I would see a picture of a DVD cover as the artwork for a trailer. Now I see a rectangle with the QuickTime symbol and a question mark below. The titles of the trailers still show when I move from box to box and the previews start loading normally.
    I tried removing my front row property list and the front row cache. I also created a new user and had no luck with that account. I've restarted my machine, disconnected all devices (macbook black) and tried repairing permissions. No luck.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -j

    Update: I've just installed again QT 7.1.3 using
    Software Update and now the trailers thumbnails look
    fine.
    I suspect the cause of this problem to be the fact
    that I upgraded to 7.1.3 using the QT installer from
    apple.com, not the Software Update.
    Mine has the problem and I used Software Update first. I tried installing again with no luck.
    Where can you get the downgrade to 7.0.1? I may try that.

    Tried restarting your Mac yet?
    And try deleting the App Store .plist (preferences)
    Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
    Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file to the Trash.

  • Icons disappear when creating a jar file.

    I am trying to make a runable jar file of an application that i wrote however, when i export it from eclipse the icons no longer appear. All of the icons are contained in a class called gridGui. Any help would be great.
    Thanks
         //Creates all of the icon files used for the buttons
         Icon fiftyCents = new ImageIcon("Fifty_Cents.gif");
         Icon oneDollar = new ImageIcon("One_Dollar2.gif");
         Icon twoDollar = new ImageIcon("Two_Dollar.gif");
         Icon threeDollar = new ImageIcon("Three_Dollar.gif");
         Icon fiveDollar = new ImageIcon("Five_Dollar.gif");
         Icon tenDollar = new ImageIcon("Ten_Dollar.gif");
         Icon freePlay = new ImageIcon("Free_Play.gif");
         Icon blank = new ImageIcon("Blank.gif");
         Icon unflipped = new ImageIcon("UnFlipped.gif");
         Icon oneDollarCoupon = new ImageIcon("One_Dollar_Coupon.gif");
         Icon threeDollarCoupon = new ImageIcon("Three_Dollar_Coupon.gif");
         Icon tShirt = new ImageIcon("TShirt.gif");
         Icon youLose = new ImageIcon("You_Lose.gif");

    You are using the ImageIcon constructor that takes a file name argument. When you create the jar file the source for the images are no longer files but entries in your jar file. You have to access them using the ImageIcon constructor that takes a URL argument.
    The actual URL you use is obtained (eg) from the Class method [getResource()|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/Class.html#getResource(java.lang.String)].
    Suppose your Fifty_Cents.gif was in your jar file in the folder "images" then you could say:
    Icon fiftyCents = new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource("/images/Fifty_Cents.gif");Note the use of forward slashes and the fact that Fifty_Cents.gif has to be capitalised exactly as it is within the jar file.
    There are other ways of organising the resources - see the getResource() documentation for details.
