This is asked and answered very often here.  You can do a forum search on the right side of this page and find answers to often asked questions.
It is also covered in the manual:
iPhone User Guide (For iOS 4.2 and 4.3 Software)
As the manual describes, double tap with three fingers.

from the information you provided i can't tell if it is a hardware problem or a software problem. I do have an idea though, try to press your home button and lock button at the same time.

  • Is it possible to order extra large and large copies of an iPhoto album from the same book?, Is it possible to order extra large and large copies of an iPhoto album from the same book?

        Hi
Does anyone know if it is possible to order an iPhoto book in different sizes? We have just created an iPhoto book and we would like to order it in large and extra large but when you click Buy Book it loads the original option selected.
I know you could say that should have thought about this beforehand but new to iPhoto itself.....really do not want to have to recreate as extra large as this has taken us some time to sort out already and thought would ask before coming to a conclusion.
Please could you let me know?
    Many thanks
    Kate

Sure - select the book in the source pane on the left and duplicate it (just in case of problems) - depress the command key and type "D" - then go to themes and select the new size, verify that it worked and preview it -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method -http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
    then order it

  • Everything is extra large and off the screen

I was in a iPhone app at 2x, closed the app and everything was so large the iPad was unusable. I rebooted it and the screen came up the same. Nothing I tried would restore the screen. Brought it to an Apple store and they never seen that and it must be a undocumented bug. My iPad is unusable and was told to bring it back Monday for a replacement. What is the fix?

Since you didn't tell us what all you tried, I have to ask - did you try to "pinch" the screen back to size? One time I managed to blow up my screen like that and I was able to get it back by pinching the screen in. Hopefully you know what I am talking about here - the touch movements to increase and decrease items on the screen. It may be worth a try.

  • Mail Icon is missing, and unable to open from Applications.  (Mail 3.6 is not supported is the error message)  I am on Lion OSX 10.7.3.

I closed the mail folder when I did a software update.  This morning, the mail icon is missing, and am not able to open from applications, or find it anyware in the toolbar.    Error message says that Mail 3.6 is not supported by OSX Lion 10.7.3

Xcode 4.x cannot be installed on Snow Leopard.  You need a 3.x.  So if that is what you used then yes, you need to install lion.   If connect.apple.com still alows registration or logins using an existing appleid then you could download the last xcode 3.2.6 for free.

  • Icons get large and cannot fix it

I was wondering if anyone else had this situation. It has only happened with my 3GS. All of the other generations I owned it never happened. Twice now all of a sudden when I turn on the phone the screen gets large and I cannot tap to adust it. I can't even move the screen to try to slide the power on bar at the bottom. I've tried rebooting and even restoring it to no avail. I don't know what has caused it or how it fixed itself the first time. If anyone has any solutions I'd appreciate it. I'm currently in Europe so I cannot go into an apple store or call for support.

A German woman visiting Albuquerque just approached me for help on the enlarged screen issue. (She saw me on my Mac). I did a quick search and we rescued her iPhone. (Triple tap and change zoom). Though I did have trouble navigating her iPhone in German!

  • Safari is "freezing" and unable to scroll or "push" back the page. Any ideas?

Running Lion 10.7.3 for a while but recently Safari has started to freeze on a page, unable to close it, load another page, scroll or roll back. Aany ideas?

    Hi David ..
If emptying the cache doesn't help, from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.
BTW, most Mac users with Lion installed have better luck using Safari by disabling the Lion "resume" feature.
    Open System Preferences > General
Deselect:  Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps

  • Acrobat xi makes my icons very large and the program very large.  It is like everything is super big.  Then it really does not work well to view files.  What can I do?

My Acrobat XI enlarges my desktop, and the program is also very large.  I cannot see the whole screen because it is so large.  When I end Acrobat everything returns to normal.  I just want to use Acrobat XI to read pdf files.

Hi Pat, that is the problem I am having.  I have tried to change my scale for screen settings to 100%, but every time I change it, the next time I open the program, it reverts to system settings.  It is not saving the new change I made.  I have looked all over for a save command but there isn’t any.  I even went to my regedit settings and did exactly what the instructions say.  Still the same problem.  Everything is at least 200%.  Once I exit the Reader, everything reverts to normal.  What am I doing wrong?  Or what else can I do?
    Thanks.

  • My site previews fine in live, explorer and firefox, but the fonts are extra large and bold on chrome, this is my first site, please assist. I will be happy to provide screenshots and code or css  sheets.

Working on my first site, Am getting different previews. Chrome tends to make the font big and bold while all other browsers work fine. Here is what the preview looks like in chrome followed by the firefox preview. I have my CSS and HTML code sheets below. Am also having a hard time centering the navigation links, they are a little closer to top of the navigation div than the bottom. Any assistance will be appreciated. Please feel free to point any other errors, am sure there is some in there.

  • Lots of extra partitions, and unable to unmount main disk

So I'm trying to reinstall OS X. I follow the usual instructions by booting into recovery mode with Cmd+R. I attempt to erase the hard drive with the Disk Utility, but it fails to unmount the Macintosh HD partition. "Couldn't unmount disk."
So then I exit disk utility and fire up terminal to execute diskutil list only to find that there are 15 disks. I recognize the first 3 (main partition, recovery partition, and the dvd drive), but I have no idea what the other 12 disks are (they are all of various sizes with the largest being about 5 megs).
    So my question is twofold:
How do I clear my main partition so I can reinstall Yosemite (ignoring the error and trying to start the internet reinstall fails on the same unmount error)?
What are all these other partitions and are they safe to remove?

If you have actually booted from the SL install DVD, your HD partition should mount & unmount as necessary with no problems unless there is some hardware problem with the HD or a related hardware item.
First, make sure you are booted from the DVD -- no Finder or user login, Disk Utility available from a "Utilities" item in the main menu bar, etc. Then in Disk Utility make sure you are selecting the correct partition for the erase (or the whole HD if you are reformatting it from the "Partitions" tab).

  • Stuck and unable to login, white screen with user photo

I installed Yosemite about a week ago on my mid-2011 Air and it's been working just fine. Last night I closed the computer as usual, putting it to sleep.
This morning when I opened it again, the login screen is not loading properly and I'm getting a white screen instead with my user avatar only, no password input field, and one calendar notification stuck in the the corner.
The mouse cursor moves around, but no response otherwise. The display goes dark/sleep after I don't touch it for 30 seconds.
A friend of mine said that something similar happened to him and he just waited (several hours) until the log in screen loaded properly, and that if I tried to do anything it could wipe all my data.
Anyone else having this issue? Haven't been able to find anything yet. Please Help! Photo is attached.
EDIT: Just noticed that when I move the mouse to hover over where the password field *should* be, the cursor changes from the arrow to a text input cursor.

    Hi Jnnn,
I Have the same problem on MBPro 2012. You can just type your password and hit enter to login... (At least that works for me...)
BTW, mine has the same behaviour when opening the lid to wake up from sleep mode, every time again!
    Hope it helps,
    Grtz, P.
