Icons for applications now showing up in itunes

For some reason when I add a new application to my iTunes applications for my iphone the display icon does not show up in iTunes. It just gives a generic icon. Is there any way to fix this? I have tried several things with no positive results.
Any one else have this issue or had it and resolved it?

Again, I have fixed the problem myself with NO SUPPORT from ANYONE HERE! AGAIN THANKS FOR NOTHING!!
But I will share my solution. I had moved my iTunes folder with all my artwork to another drive but that drive is no longer connected and left in the shortcut to that folder. However for some reason my iTunes was able to see artwork for my songs but not for the apps. I repointed it to another folder and the icons started returning to the apps I had downloaded.
Once again I am my own best tech support! Hands DOWN!

    while updating my iphone software it got intruppted and now showing connect to itune not getting restored please help

    Try doing a hard reset on the phone;
    1. Hold Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time;
    2. Wait for the Apple logo to appear (ignore the slide to Power Off option)
    3. Let go of the buttons when you see Apple on the screen
    4. Allow iPhone to reboot;
    If you are still unable to get the phone to power on, charge, or connect to iTunes; it could possibly require service. (hardware replacement)

  • [SOLVED] Set icons for applications in XFCE

    Hi,
    I was wondering if I can specify the icons for applications. Currently my gVim is using a "general" icon when in the panel but has the right icon when I create a launcher. This is how it looks like. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Yep, I have a gvim.desktop in /usr/share/applications. What it contains is:
    Type=Application
    TryExec=gvim
    Exec=gvim
    Icon=gvim
    Terminal=false
    Type=Application
    TryExec=gvim
    Exec=gvim
    Icon=gvim
    Terminal=false
    There is also gvim.png in /usr/share/pixmaps.

  • Custom Icon for application file

    I can make director allow me to have a custom icon for appliacation file.
    In director I have attempted this several times where I have tried to have my appliaction file have an icon.  I have purchased two icon program Candy Bar and Fastincs trying to remedy this problem.
    As you see here I am using an ins file created in Fastincs.  Now here is an image to the path and the icon itself Applipcations/ Adobe Director 11/3 HorseLogo.mac.ins
    So there is the setup now when I complile for my program file I get this.
    See the grey Director icon I don't want that I want the three horse logo.
    I also tried to assign the logo after publishing the file.
    then I drag my icon file in
    The program created in director still wont see the icon file.
    If I use Candy bar (icon application)  I get a  different result. The icon works
    in both finder and on the task bar
    This is exactly what I want.
    I works until I try to move the entire package into an installer program  I am using BitRock.  When I compile the installation program then try to run the application I get the following message
    If I choose ignore the install continues.  But I have no icon.
    I am desperate , weeping , screaming , and almost a lost cause, any help any help at all I could really use.
    Thanks

    Hi Robin,
    I'm more of a PC person rather than Mac. I would recommend you look at the Resource and Icon Editor page at:

    It may fix your icon issue from Director.

  • How do I delete available downloads of TV shows off my iPad? To get rid of the icon for each TV show I have ever purchased

    When I look at my TV shows on my iPad, it has an icon for every season of every show that I have ever purchased. I know a lot of them are not technically there because they are not downloaded (they have the iCloud symbol on them so I could download them if I wanted), but I don't want the icons there anymore. I essentially want to "hide" them. How do I do that?

  • Icons for Aliases not Showing up...

    I like to organize my apps into folders of aliases.  I do this by dragging them into folders holding option and command.  For some reason the icons are not showing up for the aliases for many applications.  Here is a video.
    http://screencast.com/t/yULlpzXqFrI
    They show up with the Clean App icon: http://www.syniumsoftware.com/cleanapp/
    It is a strange issue. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Okay - that one worked.
    So, the issue is not that icons, the aliased items, are missing per se, it is that the aliases are displaying an incorrect icon.
    The incorrect icon appears to be a modified .zip icon. Why that is being used, I don't know unless it is a combination of how the app is written and whether it complies fully with OS X programming requirements. An alias is functionally nothing more than an icon and a pathname. The OS should grab the icon to be used from the resources in the source file. However, if that is miswritten somehow then the OS might grab any icon; for some reason it may be 'remembering' the icon used by the original download for the item.
    This happens often with documents (image files, text files, etc.) when aliases are made to them - since what appears to be a custom icon is often a temp one created on the fly by Preview, it does not survive to the alias, which gets displayed with a generic icon.
    One thing you can try to see if it will fix it - do a Get Info on the alias, and also on the original of that alias. Then copy the icon from the upper left of the original's Get Info window and paste it over the wrong icon in the Get Info window for the alias. This is tedious, but need be done only once for each item. If you need additional aliases for the same item, just copy (Duplicate in Finder's File menu, or Option-drag it) the alias with the good icon.

  • HT201210 My partner updated iphone 5, and it now shows 'Connect to iTunes'. Then we get 'iTunes could not contact iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet'. Please help.

    iPhone 5 was updated (version unknown), and now screen shows 'Connect to iTunes.  When we try to do this, we get message 'iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet'.
    Please tell me how I fix this problem.
    Thanks

    Yes, the reason you are getting the error is the phone cannot provide internet for the laptop and then update itself. It would lose connection as you erase the firmware and try to update. You need to connect the computer to the Internet in some other fashion before you connect the phone to try and fix the update problem. As Ocean20 says, and I completely agree, how would you think you could use the Internet connection of a device that is not only going to turn off and on, but is going to get completely wiped of firmware and restored? It would completely remove the device from the equation here. Does that make sense to you?

  • Getting icons for application

    Hi all,
    I'm adding new features to the application I'm working on, and am looking for Icons for the new features. I can't design icons, never had any experience, but they are very common icons (a phone and an email icon). Just wondering is there any free repository of icons that I could use on the web? I persume it wouldn't be legal to screen grab from MS word/outlook or thunderbird or something like that?
    thanks,
    Justin

    thanks for that. But is there an extended set of java icons? The icons I need wern't there unfortunately.
    thanks,

  • IPod now showing up in iTunes?

    I just updated to iTunes 11.1.5, and my iPod's iOS is completely up to date. I tried to sync it to my computer earlier to add songs to my iPod from the computer, and the computer is recognizing the iPod, but the device isn't showing up on iTunes. I've tried redownloading iTunes, and restarting my computer. I've looked at many different things, but nothing seems to work. Any help telling me how to get iTunes to sync with the iPod? (iPod 5)

  • Does Lion OS come with new icons for applications?

    I accidentally deleted the default icons for System Preferences and some other apps on my Macbook Pro and was going to reinstall Leopard to get the default icons back. After they announced Lion OS, I wonder, would installing Lion come with new default icons?

    You must be running Snow Leopard in order to install Lion regardless of the icon issue.
    Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard - Technical Specifications
    Apple - OS X Lion - Get Lion in July. Only from the Mac App Store.
    You can reinstall Leopard without erasing the startup disk but as with any installation, backup all important files first.

  • There's no little icon for my ipod on the newest itunes so how do i transfer music to it???

    i recently got the latest update for itunes on my pc laptop.
    there used to be a little icon and tab that said 'ipod' when i plugged my ipod touch in.
    now there's nothing, so i don't know how to transfer my music to my ipod from itunes!
    PLEASE HELP ME.

    You have to select the music to sync in iTunes and then sync the iPod. If you auto sync - let the sync complete and then start with these instructions.
    Connect the iPod to your computer and launch iTunes
    Select the iPod under the devices heading on the left side.
    Click on the Music Tab in iTunes on the right side at the top
    Select the music - playlist, album, etc that you want to sync
    Select the Sync Music Heading
    Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
    This simply shows where you select the iPod under the devices heading. It works the same way with any content that you want to sync.

  • No icons for bookmarks are showing

    When u drag a URL from the addressbar and put it in ur bookmark on the top it will show the i con for example Youtube i will grab it and put it with my other bookmarks and it will show the bookmark with youtube beside it and icon showing but then when i close firefox and open it up agian the youtube Icon is gone until i click it then it will show agian till that session is over...... please help

    I don't remember how I got rid of them. I may have found how to delete them after or before. I really don't remember. I just know I clicked on bookmarks and went to show all bookmarks clicked on unsorted , clicked on the gear symbol and clicked on delete. I notice that now when I go through the same process to see if I can delete anything else, the list is a light gray instead of black and whenever it's light gray I can't click on anything in the list. I don't know why that is. I got rid of places.sqlite and another one that said corrupted. I wrote you the reply that none of the things you suggested worked before I found the way to get rid of the list. I just kept trying to find a way to do it and I did but I couldn't tell you if the way I said I thought I did it is the way I actually did it. I'm still trying to figure out what I can do on this iMac and I've had it for 3 yrs.
    I don't know what you mean by a feed entry. I just know that when I clicked on the link it took me to a BBC webpage. At any rate. I did get rid of the unsorted list of BBC bookmarks that I didn't add so I guess the problem is fixed. It made me feel spooky, tho, to have stuff bookmarked that I didn't do.
    Thanks for all your help. :)
