Icons in the music section - Meaning??

Hi,
I am somewhat confused with icons suddenly appearing next to certain songs, etc in my listing (when I use iTunes)
I've overhauled my filing on my computer, and now, it seems like many songs cannot play.
When I select to play songs from my iPhone (when connected), some more different icons appear, and those songs cannot play either - but those songs play fine if I choose to play them when disconnected from my computer...
What is going on??
1- where is the list of those icons and their meaning?
2- If I do another backup - will I lose part of songs I've uploaded from my CD collection in iTunes - or worse from my iPhone? (some songs were bought way before my iPhone, when I had my Palm)

Here's more info:
When I am in my Library section:
     - when I play a song, there is speaker icon (all is fine with everything then);
     - sometimes I'll find an exclamation point in that very same column. It means (I guess) that it cannot find the song (or file)
When I want to play music from my iPhone via iTunes (then the music will be heard from my computer's screen, and not from my iPhone's speaker):
     - in that same column where the speaker will appear if a song is played, I have many songs that have some kind of icon where 2 arrows circle around (a bit like the recycling logo, but instead of a triangle, it's a circle)
I find very odd that I cannot find any info about these icons... The explanation is not in the iPhone manual, and where is the iTunes' manual??

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

How to i get m3u's to show up in the music section like they did before?

Now when you try to play an m3u it starts in the internet songs section instead of the music section like it did before, is there any way to revert it back to opening in the music section instead?

I've seen something yesterday that says Airplay in control centre is only for Iphone 4S and onwards. It's frustrating when they take something away without any obvious reason. I'm going to change back to IOS6 until it's sorted out.
I also tried connecting to bluetooth and only once I'm connected does an icon show up in control centre. There's no direct way to connect to a device from control centre on the Iphone 4 from the looks of it.

You will need to restore your phone as a new one using the itunes on your computer. This WILL erase everything on the phone but it will let you change the name of the phone and then you can add content to it.

Yes. Highlight each of the audiobook tracks that are appearing in the Music section of your iTunes library. Right ->click on them and choose Get Info. When the window pops up, click the Options tab. Here you will find an option for Media Type with a drop down list. Choose Audiobook from the drop down list.

If you import the audiobook as an audiobook to your iTunes Library, it will be listed in the Books section of your Library. You may need to turn on Books in order to see them. If you cannot see the File/Edit... etc. menu, use CTRL B on your keyboard to make that menu bar appear. Then go to Edit/Preferences>Books and put a tick in the box.
But, if the imported audiobook shows up in the Music section of your iTunes Library, highglight the files (in iTunes) and select File/Get Info/Options/Media Kind>Audiobook. These files will now transfer to the Books section of iTunes.
Once on an iPod Classic, look under the Audiobooks menu. Again, you may need to change the settings in the Settings menus, in order to have the Audiobooks option shown on the Main Menu and/or the Music Menu.

Why is Johnny Cash under the C's in the music section on my iTunes?

Instead of Johnny Cash being under the J's in iTunes, it's under the C's. When I type Johnny Cash in the search bar, the only artist that comes up is Johnny Cash & June Carter, which I have as a different artist entirely. Johnny Cash, solo, doesn't even come up. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this. I right clicked to "get info" and nothing looks weird or out of place. The only thing filled in are artist (Johnny Cash) and genre (country). This has happened before when The Velvet Underground was under the T's (but it's not like that anymore?). The only thing I can think that's causing it is that I have Johnny Cash's autobiography in the book section on iTunes. It's kind of inconvenient, so any help is appreciated.

iTunes will work best if you include Name, Artist, Album Artist, Album and Track No. One possible reason for things appearing in the wrong place would be the Sort fields, Sort Artist, Sort Album Artist etc. iTunes will normally drop leading articles (a/an/the) for sorting but these files can also be used to sort, for example, Johnny Cash as Cash, Johnny. That said he should still show up in a search on the string Johnny Cash.
If you're using iTunes 11 it may help to click the search icon and untick search entire library.

I can't sure if anyone found this issue before, there are two magnifier icons at the Search Forum section. I've updated Safari to 4.0.1 but the issue not resolved, anyone else share this issue?

Yes, I noticed since Beta. Seems to be fixed now. I think it was something with the site.
My only gripe is that the release version seems to crash more than Beta. Hope it gets more stable or hope that Chrome is released for Mac soon.

ITunes skips the music section of the sync

On my brand new windows 8 pc, I can't seem to sync my music (most of it from my old pc) to my iphone 4s. The sync simply skips the music part. Ideas?

As you have discovered, episodes downloaded with iTunes show up under Podcasts. There is no way to change this. Something invisible inside the file tells iTunes to do this. You could download those same shows from the producer's Web page, but that could mean lots of downloading, and older episodes might not be available.
To group episodes together when some appear in Music and others in Podcasts, make a playlist. Fill it with the episodes from the Music and Podcast libraries, and sort them in he order. You could even make a smart-playlist for this, where +Album | is | <podcast title>+.

How can I get an mp3 into the music section on iPad without using a computer?

The situation is this: I have no access to a computer. The iPad is all that I have to use. So I have never synced it to iTunes or anything.
I am trying to make a video using the movie making app Pinnacle Studio (iMovie doesn't do enough for what I want) and when it comes to choosing audio files, it shows what's stored in the music library of my iPad.
But here is the problem. The audio is a track I have sent to my own email address as mp3. I want to be able to save it from email into my music folder so that it can then be imported into Pinnacle Studio. But when I click on the mp3 in the email it gives me only options to open it in iMovie or Dropbox. How can I get to use this piece of audio when I can't access a computer? Thanks a lot for any help.

If you don't have iTunes you will need to buy the song from the iTunes store and download it that way. If it is a custom track you may be out of luck. The only way to get a song on your device without iTunes involves jailbreaking it.
iOS is set up to prevent people from emailing each other songs, videos, movies, books, etc. This is how Apple got their contracts with the content providers by promising that they would do what ever it takes to prevent people from sharing content that they didn't pay for.
