IControl vs. GB3 (again)

I've seen the same problems that most (but not all) iControl users see with GB3: The effects buttons don't work right, and the iControl doesn't always switch into effect mode when you open effects with the mouse.
Apparently different users see different variations of the problem, but the common thread is that effects and iControl don't play nice.
I reported the problem to M-Audio. Their first response was that this was not a known issue, and I needed to return the device for service. When I pointed out that other people have posted about the same issue on these forums, I got a new response:
We have confirmed that this is indeed a bug and it will be fixed in
a future driver release.
As soon as an updated driver is available it will be posted to our site.
This seems a bit odd, given that the iControl doesn't have drivers (or, rather, it does, but they come from Apple and are embedded inside GarageBand.app), but that's what they said.
No word on an expected release date.

Same problem here with the Effects buttons not working properly. M-Audio told me, as they've told others, both they and Apple are aware of the problem, and that Apple should be putting out a GB update to address the problem. It seems from postings here the wait may be a long one. I wish they'd let us know of these problems on their website or let us know when we place an order.
