ICS and Bluetooth AVRCP Profile

I had to flash back to Gingerbread due to the USB tethering wi-fi hotspot issue. Prior to doing so with ICS I got artist, track and album info displayed on my car stereo when streaming via Bluetooth.
Well that is GONE now (w/ Gingerbread) and I am using a new Sony car stereo I got just after the ICS update in order to have this feature!
SONY MOBILE WHY ARE YOU NOT MAKING ANY COMMENT ON IF THESE ICS BUGS WILL BE FIXED? These are NOT the performance issues which we were 'warned' about when updating.

Wifi Plus Cellular and Bluetooth MAP Profile missing

I upgraded my iPhone4 32GB from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6.0
Two of the main reasons I updated were to get the Wifi Plus Cellular option that was touted and the Bluetooth MAP Profile for text message support in my Acura.
Upon updating I don't see either of these options in the menus, and the MAP functionality isn't working as the Acura shows it as not being compatible.
Is anyone else aware if these were removed and/or will be fixed in a subsequent patch?

Wifi Plus Cellular is nowhere to be found. It was in the Beta version but removed from GM and the Release.

Bluetooth adapter for itouch w/ full avrcp profile???

I read somewhere that the Jabra A125s (with internal ipod BT switched off) gives you the full AVRCP profile abilities, not just play pause stop and volume but also next/previous song.
Can anyone confirm this for an ipod touch 2nd gen with firmware 3.0???

Ics broke bluetooth to auto for calls and audio playback

After upgrading to ICS (4.0.4) on my RAZR MAXX, I can no longer maintain a bluetooth session with my car and the audio playback is not working at all. The connection begins and drops after less than 1 minute. This cycle repeats. Calls and audio worked with the same car configuration in Android 2.3.4. After a long search on the net I learn that this is a common problem. Has anyone heard about a patch or work around? I tried disabling wifi - no joy.

I have the same problem with my DROID RAZR. I use a Plantronics Pro+ headset and regularly have hour long conference calls. I had no connection problems prior to ICS. When I upgraded to ICS, the Bluetooth connection started dropping. It will drop then reconnect, then drop, then reconnect, every couple minutes. I end up holding my phone to one ear with the Bluetooth on the other, the call rotates between them. VERY ANNOYING. UNACCEPTABLE. I tried a second Bluetooth headset (also Plantronics Pro+). it worked for about 2 days, then had the same problem.
From reading various postings, I believe this is a problem with ICS and the Bluetooth connection. Nothing to do with what type of headset, automobile, etc. It may be only those of us that had Android 2.3.4 and upgraded to ICS.

We are developing a monitor with Bluetooth 4.0 moudle, also programing an iOS App for this wireless monitor. We want to transfer the monitor data to iphone/ipad(which installed the App) through bluetooth.
As you know, many bluetooth device are not allowed to connect to iphone/ipad through bluetooth. So I'd like to know that which of the iOS supported bluetooth profies should I use when programing, to ensure the monitor can connect to the Apple device and upload data. Of course, if they can connect successfully, both of the monitor and Apple device would be acknowledged "connected".

Bluetooth AVRCP on Mac OS X

I have a question about Bluetooth AVRCP on Mac OS X (AVRCP is the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile, which is part of the Bluetooth specification). I am using a Bluetooth headset with the Spotify app on Mac OS X. The combination works well and I'm very happy with the sound quality. However, the Play/Pause and Track Forward/Backward controls on the headset have no effect on Spotify. Instead they cause iTunes to start. The AVRCP functions of the headset work properly in other situations, such as with an iPad, so I don't think there is any problem with the headset. I read a number of other posts about AVRCP with Spotify, but I did not find any that addressed this specific case. I don't know if this is an issue with Spotify, Mac OS X, or both. Does anybody know what and/or where the problem is? Here are the technical details: MacBook Pro, early 2015, Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.4, Bluetooth 4.3.5f8.Spotify 1.0.8.59.gee82e7e6.Sony Wireless Stereo Headset, MDR-ZX770BT, Bluetooth 3.0. But what about my wireless mouse? It's a Microsoft and when it's plugged in, additional boxes come up so I can select Button 1 for Expose, or Button 2 for Dashboard, etc... Are you saying this will absolutely not work with a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse? I contacted the seller about and he said it does support Mac but I'm still not sure...

Bluetooth MAP profile in Lollipop ?

Can someone advise if Bluetooth MAP profile is supported in Lollipop ? It was removed from earlier Android versions which is a pity since my vehicle communications system (Uconnect) requires this for displaying SMS's.

Bluetooth MAP Profile

I have a Curve 8900 phone and recently upgraded to OS 5.0.0.822. The reason why I upgraded was that this new OS is supposed to support the Bluetooth MAP profile - which allows email to be "read out". However - after the upgrade (which went quite smoothly) - I went into "Options" -> Bluetooth -> "Bluetooth Options" and MAP was not listed as one of the services supported. The list included Headset, Handsfree, Serial Port Profile, Dial Up Networking, Audio Source, A/V Remote Control Target - but no MAP (Message Access Profile).
Could someone verify if this Bluetooth profile is supported on the curve 8900 with OS 5.0 (the documentation says that it does) and if yes - how do I enable it? Thanks a lot for your help.

I understand that this is a user forum, no one on here will know what Apple's doing and why.
However, some may speculate as to why MAP isn't being supported. Is it for security reasons for example?
With most new cars coming onto the market today offering additional services that require MAP to be supported in phones, (surely car manufacturers are talking with handset manufacturers and have a roadmap of products that will work together in the future), the it's either a 'miss' by Apple or there's a perfectly good reason for them not to support this function.
I'll have my car for 4 years and have been waiting for the iPhone 5, however now I have to seriously consider other handsets as I want a phone that supports MAP in the Bluetooth stack.
Is there anyway to get feedback to Apple and request additional features/ functions?

Bluetooth Headset Profile on IOS 4 Ipod Touch?

Has anyone checked to see if they added the Bluetooth Headset Profile (cellphone style Mike and Headphone) to the Ipod touch in IOS 4?
It wasn't there in 3.X (just AD2P for stereo sound), and I just wondered if they slipped it in unannounced is IOS 4.

Try a restart first (hold down the on/off button until you get the red slider and turn it off).
If that doesn't do it, reset it - hold down the Home button and the on/off button until you see the Apple logo.

Mac Pro USB ports and bluetooth not working

I have a Mac Pro (early 2008) Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 2.8 GHz, 4GB ram, Airport card, Magic Mouse. Suddenly the keyboard and wired/bluetooth Mouse are unavailable, so it is not possible to control the computer. The only way I can use it is by using Screen Sharing from my MacBook Pro - which is obviously pretty useless except for diagnostics! All the USB ports (front and back, as well as those on the Cinema Display - when connected) are dead. System profiler shows no problem with them, but also shows nothing connected. Bluetooth in menu bar shows as "Bluetooth: not available", and in system profiler shows as "No information found".
I've tried all the usual remedies. Powering off overnight with power cord disconnected, all peripherals disconnected, then booting up again. Holding in the power button for ten seconds when the power cord is disconnected. Obviously I can't reset the pRAM (because the keyboard is not recognised, even before the OS loads). The first couple of times I tried this process, it did bring back the USB ports, even the bluetooth became temporarily available, but soon disappeared again. USB ports died next time I rebooted.
However, in the last couple of days, the process produces no results. No matter how long I leave it disconnected, USB ports are not working and bluetooth is just not there...
I've checked for other threads on this topic, but most other people seem to have issues with either front or back USB ports, or even just one or more individual ports. My problems have only been with all ports or none.
Does anyone have any suggestions to get my MacPro up and running again properly?

Just waking this thread up again in case anyone has had any other ideas.
Since last posting, usb became functional again, (came back on a couple of hours after a restart) and as long as I kept the machine alive, usb would stay alive. Bluetooth came back on briefly, but for most of the time was unavailable. System profiler shows no problems and Console does not report any usb related errors as far as I can see.
After a recent restart, usb disappeared again, and despite numerous restarts and being left on for a couple of days (and subsequently left off for several days) it has not come back. When usb is not working, examining the system profiler (through screen sharing from my macbook) usb shows no errors, but also shows no connected devices. I can charge my ipod nano with any of the usb ports (front or back), so power does not seem to be the issue.
I can't reset pRAM (because the keyboard is not available at boot), but have reset SMC numerous times. Have tried other keyboards, and mice. No joy.
I seem to have run out of ideas. Any suggestions?

3GS and Bluetooth pairing/connecting issues with Macbook Pro

I've got a Macbook Pro 15"... Just got my 3GS today... But for the life of me cannot seem to get the 3GS connected to my MBP over Bluetooth... Both the MBP and the 3GS have BT turned on, and both "discoverable"... Done the pairing with the code provided by the MBP, and entered into the 3GS... But that's it... the iPhone shows up in the devices under Bluetooth Preferences, but just can't "connect"... There's a spinning icon on the 3GS in the BT panel... with my MBP showing up, but just sits there, spinning...
What am I doing wrong??

--if you are trying to use the iphone as a modem for your macbookpro:
currently at&t doesnt support using he iphone for tethering... they say they will later ... no real details about limits and prices but you can bet they will be low and high respectively.
--if you are trying to sync the iphone with itunes over bluetooth:
that profile doesnt exist yet and or itunes doesnt support it yet from what i can find... gonna have to stick with the usb cable... which is faster than bluetooth anyway

it seems that Palm was in such a rush to get this phone out the door, they left out alot of basic functionality that most "lower" phones have.

Another feature missing from the N8 is what Damian Dinning mentioned while discussing the N8's camera with GSMarena:

Want to separate Stereo bluetooth headset profile ...

I used to have in my windows mobile phone two profiles for my Jabra bt3030 stereo headset.
-(stereo headset profile) to be selected if I wanna listen to music.
-(headphone profile) to be used during my working day as normal bluetooth headset to answer calls only (however all ringtons/alerts/GPS navigation sounds been forwarded to the internal phone speaker)
In my Nokia E72 , firmware 031.023 . I have only stereo bluetooth headset profile. which make me always put on the headset during working days to be able to listen to the calender alerts, and notifications (as they do not go to the internal speaker).
Would you please guide me how to separately use either stereo headset profile (for music) or bluetooth headphone profile (for the calls only)???

This problem is getting me down - Blue Jay headphones work perfectly with every other device and computer we own but cannot be found by our MB Pro (late 2011). This same MB is very difficult to pair with 2 other Bluetooth devices - taking several attempts each time and providing poor sound quality.

We just added a new printer and bluetooth connection to our iMac. Now iTunes does not recognize our iPads as devices. Have already tried restarting everything. Any other suggestions?
