does't suprise me at all sony needs more experienced beta testers really those that actualy use device bit more extreme then normal user would.
If something is stable in extreme conditions then its likely perfectly stable talking about actualy running lot apps leaving everything open and opening new tab for anything etc while doing normal every day tasks that everyone usualy does or more.
other then that they should probably test much longer have bit more patience while testing while perhaps testing 5 tablets at same time.
perhaps they could use some software that mirror commands they do to nearby tablets on a grid so they can even test 100 tablets at once to see which one gives in and randomly shutdown first.
or just to to have a different build on each tablet to see which one is most stable and which one fails so they can rule out bad builds.

Power adaptor/transformer for Sony Tablet S 16

I am about to buy a gift for my parents in EU (I am in US). I called Sony to find out if I need a new adaptor for EU. I got a vary vague answer. I checked the Specs, notheing. My question is. Do I need a different adaptor/tranformer (to use the tablet on 220V instead of 110) or I only need a wall adaptor for the plug? If you can, can you check what is written on your adaptor? I have 2 PCs and all of them do not need a different transformer. TX

Welcome to the User Discussion Forums.
The AC Adapter is labeled and rated to handle 100V~240V 50/60 Hz and will work anywhere without a power converter. You will need a socket adapter. The same power cord is with it that is used with your own VAIO AC Adapters. If your parents do not wish to use a plug adapter they can enter any store that sells Sony products and ask to purchase a power cord with the "figure eight" tip on the side that connects to the Adapter Brick/Transformer.

Upgrading for Wacom Tablet.

Hope this makes sense. I have a PowerMac G4 QS, OSX 10.1.5, 800mhz, 1.5GB and something that reads pc 133.
Well here's the question. I use photoshop 7.0 and Illustrator 10 daily and most of the cgi's and illustrations are pretty big in size. I added memory to max but now that i have to purchase a new Wacom tablet they run sluggish and then fail to move altogether. As if something is not allowing me to use it properly. I called Mac Mall and The salesperson said i need to upgrade to a Tiger because 10.1.5 is not cutting it for the new tablets. I Really need a second, third any other opinion since my boss is going to buy it. I returned the last tablet i bought cause it just wasn't working like the one i had from like 4 years ago (sigh). Please help. Tablet reads: MacOS X 10.2.6 or later.
Hope this is the last thing i need to upgrade.

Moystar, welcome, I have a Wacom Intuos 2 Graphic Tablet at home and at work, I use Panther in both locations. I use PhotoShop CS, CS2, Freehand MX, and Painter 8 almost everyday.
And as you can see I have a older Graphic G4 (GE) with 1.5 MB rams and a 1.5 GB processor, the Wacom works fine I use it instead of the mouse to do almost everything.
If the Tablet reads: Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later, then I would recommend upgrading at least to Panther.

Can't install Skype on Android lollipop for Sony X...

I Just updated mi Android to lollipop and what was my surprise Skype wasn't working so I unistalled it and tried to install it again but it can't be even downloaded, had tried several times and always get error code 495. Any ideas??? I do need it for my work meetings and familiar issues.

What is wrong with your system is that you have an old CPU (AMD Sempron 2500+, 1.75GHz) without support for SSE2 instruction set. Skype 7.6/7.7 version will crash on such a system, but Skype 7.5 may work. http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Cannot-install-Skype/m-p/4039905#M355091

Hi Dennis, thank you for the reply. I have Adobe Reader installed and open. When I click on the pdf documents an error message box opens and says "Error. The document cannot be opened beacause it is not a valid pdf document". Perhaps the pdf's on the USB memory stick are corrupted. I can't open them on the laptop either. I'll reload them and try again.

How do i use firefox as a web browser on my sony tablet s when i try it makes me choose google

i bought a Sony tablet S for my wife. She wants to access a program for work from home. I downloaded Mozilla firefox to the Sony, but when I open it, and go to type in a web address, it makes me choose Google as a search engine. How can I use Firefox on the Sony tablet? I did not see it in the list of supported devices. Please help. My wife is very frustrated, because she can only open her work program using Mozilla Firefox.

However, because of the large number of Android devices (phones and tablets), not all new devices could be tested yet, but the list will continue to be updated.
I am not sure if I understand correctly your issue. When typing something in url bar, you will have at least 4 default search engines (Google, Wikipedia, Amazon, Twitter), so you can choose any of them. If you want to install more search engines, here it is a useful link for that: http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html (open this link using Firefox Mobile on your tablet).

Headphone output not working after Android 5 update (Yoga Tablet 2 10")

Hi! First of all, thanks for the Lollipop update, it is working great!There is only one problem I ran into: when I connect a headphone to the audio jack I can hear no sound/music.Before update to Lollipop there was no such problem and headphones work with other devices. I tried a factory reset, but it did not help.Turning Dolby program on or off or changing its settings does not change anything. Audio from built in speakers is normal as is bluetooth streaming.Tablet recognizes headphones: little icon appears on notification bar and speakers are muted upon insertion and playback is stopped in Play Music app upon removal.Also when music plays and I open Dolby app I can see the spectrogram moving, but there is no sound coming though audio jack. I assume this is a software error in Lollipop firmware and would confirm it if I would know how to downgrade firmware... I hope this issue will be fixed in next patch. Best,András

Lenovo is investigating customer reports that certain headphone/headset/ear bud devices that previously delivered audio through the audiojack no longer work on Yoga Tablet 2 devices after the tablet was upgraded to Android Lollipop, yet other listening devices do.
It would help the investigation if several customers would be willing to provide logs capturing this failure event for Yoga Tablet 2 8 or 10 1050 models.

Software update for Original Tablet S

With all of the great minds (and resourses) over at Sony, why has no one come up with a software upgrade/update for us original TABLET S owners??? How long must we wait. I'm truly feeling left out and ripperd off, I'm afraid... With no updates in the foreseeable future, I'll be forced to buy a new tablet, and It will be hard for me to spend my hard earned money on any Sony products in the future!

UVC Support for Yoga tablets?

I recently purchased a Yoga 8 and love it. I upgraded to Kit Kat. However, the tablet appears to lack support for UVC external cameras.
How can UVC support be enabled for Yoga tablets? I know rebuilding the kernel and flashing it is one option, though that seems like overkill. Another option could be to flash stock Android, but I am not sure what that would do to the tablet.
Are there any easier options for enabling UVC support on a Yoga tablet?

I rang Lenovo Support to see if I could get any further clarification on this and the person I spoke to cast doubt on whether KitKat would be coming to anything other than the soon to be released Yoga 10 HD+. It was suggested that model would be released in May and receive the KitKat upgrade in June.
I mentioned media articles claiming that KitKat would be coming to all Yoga tablet models, and he gave the impression that support and updates for the original Yoga 8 and 10 models could end on release of the new model and that they may not even be capable of handling KitKat in any case.
I don't know whether that information is any more reliable or accurate than what has previously been posted, or is perhaps just more confusion and contradiction to add to the mix.

Support for Lenovo tablet A7-40 ?

Recently bought a A7-40 lenovo tablet since then got a few firmware update.
Now i'd really like to know if this tablet will get an upgrade to Lollipop because it's a pretty recent tablet.
Why Lenovo don't provide official image of the android system for each of their tablet and don't provide official roadmap of their upgrade plan ?
Feel like Lenovo means "selling a lot of products and then drop the support".
If any Lenovo officials stops by, a little answer would be appreciated !

Unfortunately your video is private....I can't watch it.
That being said...There's nothing wrong with your tablet,just got updated to Android 4.4 and Lenovo's Android 4.4 new UI=User Interface(you were running Android 4.2 before).
On the old 4.2 UI to remove/uninstall an app you had to long press on the app's icon and drag it to that RUBBISH ICON.
Now on the new UI(and on Android 4.4 devices in general) things are a lot simpler: Just long press on the desired app icon and then press the ''X'' situated on the upper left side of the icon.....That's it....No more ''RUBBISH ICON'' on Android 4.4 KitKat.
